Artur Davis: Enter the last dream date that Republicans may have at their disposal. His name is Jeb Bush, and this time, there is a feasibility around the idea that seemed unthinkable months ago. ... Jeb Bush should measure his reluctance against the risks looming for his party and, potentially, his country. The fact is that his party could be staring at an unavoidable disaster unless, in the interests of saving it, its best candidate comes out of retirement.

Especially the one where her Messiah loses to another Bush!

High-Larious

Thank goodness Danni doesn't post an email address here. With Vermin constantly grunting and sniffing at her flanks it would be loaded up within a day or two.

Vermin doesn't post an email address here, either. But that probably has more to do with various statutes of limitations against which his incorporation in Tennessee fails to provide an adequate shield than his current infatuation with Jeb "Jowls" Bush.

Yes, Vermin, you are.

I suspect Danni's spoken for.

Now, go see if you can peddle some of that mocha flesh to the boys in the Gulf.

"Especially the one where her Messiah loses to another Bush!" With the situation the country found itself in at the end of the last Bush Presidency I would have to say that is every Americans nightmare.Considering the S&L scandal of the 80's and 90's the other Bush President also left a disaster behind. It's what the Bush family does.
Their motto: "We steal it, you repay it."

Tiresome.

tiresome and generally stupid

Now the Dwarf will come back with some equally idiotic and pointless reply.

Well, I see ol' Verm's still grunting like a pig, head jerking around like a junky's looking for a fix.

Speaking of GOPiggie losers, I wonder who the next Joker Du'Jour's going to be before they bow to the Powers That Be and accept M'Lord as their latest Savior.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

That is all.

Draft Jeb Bush

It'll never happen. The GOP elites, know the Bush name is for shit.

.

The dynamic between The Base and The Guardians in the GOP is actually pretty interesting.

The Guardians need The Base because of numbers, i.e. votes. The Base appear to require the presence of The Guardians to assure them that their wildest dreams - and they're pretty wild - can be realized someday, down the road, just a little bit longer, just a tad farther (hence the use by The Guardians of such red herrings as the abortion issue to keep The Base towing the line).

But The Base also requires the presence of The Guardians, so they have someone to blame when they are - as they often are - disappointed in the final result, i.e. a pummeling on election day. We see it reflected here daily in such sentiments as "If they'd only had the sense to listen to us and nominate a Real Conservative" or "If only he/she/it had stuck to Real Conservative principles" or "If people only knew blah, blah, blah."

The Base and The Guardians need and enable one another, thriving within the closed loop of their symbiotic relationship.

danni wasn't the only one.

The GOP elites, know the Bush name is for shit.

I can't believe it's even being talked about.

Granted, I'm also baffled that Newt is being given as much consideration.

Digging up old names that nobody likes is not a good strategy.

Draft Jeb Bush

I don't know how they're going to get that PNAC albatross off his troat.

Digging up old names that nobody likes is not a good strategy.

Since the GOPers are busy raiding the political graveyard - I'm surprised some of the job-seekers haven't released photographs of themselves leg-humping an animatronic Ronald Reagan effigy - how about expanding the search to some of the party's slogans from yesteryear? For example:

"A Chicken in Every Pot - Two Cars in Every Garage"
"Four More Years of the Full Dinner Pail"
"Keep Cool and Keep Coolidge"
"Who but Hoover?"

Yeah, draft Jeb. He can run as the smart Bush, but then he'd have to concede that W. is his brother.

Sucks to be a Republican.

You think Newt had dirt? Run ole' JEB. We are ready. Please run JEB. Even JEB knows we have enough dirt on him in Florida to derail any attempt he makes.

And it would be a blast watching the Tea Party get behind a Mexican first lady and a President who routinely gave speeches in Spanish in his official capacity as governor of a state.

Sucks to be a Republican.

You are right, zed. It also sucks to be a democrat. The freedom that comes being unattached to or controlled by either party and voting for a person (not the party) is exhilarating.

It would be funny to watch Danni's head assplode.

What's funny to me is the desperation that Republicans are demonstrating with these "draft a candidate" fantasies. This is an amazingly weak field of candidates, aside from Ron Paul, whose views are far outside the GOP mainstream.

Artur Davis Draft Jeb Bush

If for no other reason than to cause Liberals all over America to have complete break downs. Not to mention being able to watch Danni melt down on the DR.

Jeb Bush?!

Excellent!

Should make for an even bigger landslide for President Obama this time.

What you are seeing is the old guard Republicans having fits about a conservative being the Republican candidate. They are all thinking Barry Goldwater in 1964. Remember how they fought against Reagan until his was the nominee. It's not that anyone thinks Newt or Santorum is the perfect candidate but there is a message being sent and it is business as usual will not do. Dems on the other hand hope there is no conservative resurgence as they will likely control DC for years to come. I know you will attack that last statement but just wait till after the election and when the Dems get the butt whipping I expect you will hear the Dem narrative turn to supporting Blue dog Dems and the "new Democrat party" The party of the middle class and the working man.

Draft Jeb Bush? First Bush ever to be drafted.

I think the righties are premising their hopes that everyone else has forgotten the Bush Presidencies, too.

Brighten up guys-Ronnie Reagan Jr. is still available.

I know you will attack that last statement but just wait till after the election and when the Dems get the butt whipping I expect

Panfried, if you "expect" Newt or Santorum to get the nomination, never mind being "conservatives", with the same clarity you "expect" the Dems to get in November, Nancy better start getting used to being called Speaker Pelosi again and the Dems better start looking for someone to replace President Obama in 2016.

What you are seeing is the old guard Republicans having fits about a conservative being the Republican candidate.

The problem with your theory is that Newt's not much of a conservative. He's a career Washington insider, which is how he ended up lobbying behind closed doors to get Medicare Part D passed and sat down with Nancy Pelosi in agreement on the need to address climate change.

The reason some Republicans are having a fit is because Newt's a massively unpopular politician who will get destroyed in a general election.

Yeah, but Goatman will have had an orgasm per debate by then. I think we all owe it to that pathetic old fuck to support Newt so Goatie can finally get off.

Newt's not much of a conservative #24 | Posted by rcade

I understand the view point but I disagree He has accomplished the things we conservatives are looking for, contract with America was real and executed, balanced budget, reduce spending, addressed entitlement programs. Newt problem is he like the sound of his own voice. I also think he has had somewhat of an epiphany to renew his fire.

Medicare Part D #24 | Posted by rcade
I know your a news hound and you know that the dems had programs that made Medicare Part D look cheap by comparision. Was it good law? not really but it is on budget.

The reason some Republicans are having a fit is because Newt's a massively unpopular politician who will get destroyed in a general election.#24 | Posted by rcade

I disagree; I think this is a fight for the future direction of the Republican Party. Some of the things you liberals have bitched about for years were legitimate and conservatives know that. Is Newt or Santorum the answer? No, not in my opinion but it's a transition to a Ryan, Rubio or Allen West.

#23 | Posted by northguy3

You need to get out of your little circle of friends, the folks are pissed and they will show up on the 6th. Barry didn't deliver the change the folks wanted but the folks will deliver the change they want, unemployment for Barry.

The Republican House collapsed after Bush. It was briefly thought to be alive after members of the Tea Party set it ablaze. But now the flames are burning out and the entire Republican House is a waste. The only option is to rebuild entirely over the next 4-6 years.

Barry didn't deliver the change his opponents wanted but the folks will deliver the change they want, four more years for Barry.

, contract with America was real and executed,

No it wasn't. No matter what Newt told you.

and Pan, nobody, left or right, likes Newt or Rmoney. How are you teabaggers gonna accept the brother of the big government, big borrowing President you refuse to admit existed being rammed down your throats at the Convention? ( Actually, I expect you'll support whatever Republican the RNC gives you).

Obama is doing better with the independents than either Rmoney or Newt. And they are only going to destroy each other more and more.

"I know your a news hound and you know that the dems had programs that made Medicare Part D look cheap by comparision."

Like what? Anyway, Medicare Part D was intentionally written so as to blow up Medicare by making in insolvent. We need to fix this Republican poison pill.

Yeah, but Goatman will have had an orgasm per debate by then. I think we all owe it to that pathetic old fuck to support Newt so Goatie can finally get off.

Monte-maybe we can limit the debates to 30 seconds each. That'll be plenty of time for Goatsy to get his rocks off.

"Please run JEB. Even JEB knows we have enough dirt on him in Florida to derail any attempt he makes."

I hope you're right but Jeb was popular here, his Mexican wife will be a big help with Hispanic voters and he is a smart guy. I fear him as Obama's opponent much more than anyone else I can think of that the GOP could nominate.

I wish......

Newt's a massively unpopular politician who will get destroyed in a general election.

"Whatever you do", cried Brack Obmama, "Don't throw me into THAT briar patch!"

Seems like a great idea. Yes, draft Jeb. Then draft George, Uncle Karl and Rummy. Wedge James Baker from under his rock. Get the whole lot. Send them off to Afghanistan with a flack jacket, a brain bucket and rifle ASAP (brain bucket optional).

Interesting

Democrats' Part D Opportunity
Doug Schoen

Consider the following: The Medicare drug benefit, officially called "Medicare Part D" has proven successful on multiple fronts. It has come in under budget every year that it has existed (costs are 46 percent below initial estimates) and charges lower premiums than projected. Beneficiaries choose between a wide range of privately administered plans and even the least expensive options provide some coverage for any drug a doctor suggests. Since the right medicines keep people in better health, most measures of overall patient wellness have trended upwards since the drug program began. Satisfaction is high: in senior-heavy Florida, 93 percent of those receiving Part D like it. Quite simply, the plan is a political winner.

www.huffingtonpost.com

Was it good law? not really but it is on budget.

On budget? It will cost $727.3 billion from 2009 through 2018 and was passed by President Bush and Congressional Republicans in 2003 without finding the revenue to pay for it.

"Whatever you do", cried Brack Obmama, "Don't throw me into THAT briar patch!"

I'd love to see Newt get the nod. He'll be beaten so bad Walter Mondale will feel sorry for him.

I still can't believe the folks who play The Base like puppets will allow that to happen. But, as that overrated philosopher Forrest Gump observed, "Stupid is as stupid does."

People laughed when I told y'all this was the plan all along.

We're still laughing.

Bush League
Bushed
Bushwhacked

All now verbs associated with the Bush family name

Good luck with Jeb, Bushies

BTW, why aren't we hearing a word about W? Instead, the GOP talk about Republican presidents who took office over 30 years ago. They're way too ashamed of that name to use it, huh?

"We're still laughing."

As your present candidates expose their asses your laughter looks more and more ubsurd. Almost as if you are joining them in their exposure.

PANEOCON

"48 percent is the average difference between the lowest prices obtained for the top 10 drugs by the largest Part D prescription drug plans (PDPs) and the lowest prices obtained by the VA through the application of a limited set of its negotiation techniques.
Allowing the Secretary to negotiate drug prices has the potential to save billions of dollars" potentially up to $24 billion annually" assuming that the mean reduction in drug prices obtained through the limited use of VAs negotiation techniques could be applied to the Part D programs overall prescription drug cost of $49 billion. These savings are more than adequate to close the doughnut hole coverage gap, stimated by the Congressional Budget Office to cost $42 billion over five years. Savings in excess of $42 billion could be used to improve other Medicare benefits and reducing the deficit."

www.ncpssm.org

For a change, these are serious questions Panecon:

"He has accomplished the things we conservatives are looking for, contract with America was real and executed...."

1. How many of the ten promises were executed?

and

"Medicare Part D...is on budget."

2. In what sense? Isn't it true that the legislation was actually not even funded (i.e., that no way of paying for it was identified or enacted)?

Doug Schoen one of your guys in the Huffington Post a liberal publication says Medicare Part D is a good program and on Budget and you Libs have a hissy fit. Is the estrogen level high today in response to the Obama State of the union speech.

"Doug Schoen one of your guys in the Huffington Post a liberal publication says..."

You say we accept our talking points obediently and unquestioningly and as soon as someone doesn't take a claim from huffpo at face value you criticize? He's doing what you demand we don't do enough of, jeez.

I'm not going to defend Medicare Part D as it was my first big issue with Bush. I'm a conservative first a Republican second.

Bandar Bush is up next.

"I'm not going to defend Medicare Part D as it was my first big issue with Bush."

If I'm being chronological the Afghanistan war would be first. I knew is was a mistake to put boots on the ground but it just got worse.

The status quo Republicans are going nuts because Romney is faltering! No Bush no dynasty!

All the BS is irreverent if Obama isn't replaced by a leader who will undo the damage that he has done.If Obama is elected for 4 more years the middle class will all but disappear.

irreverant??????????? been to church lately???????????

have you ever checked to see if your opinion coincides with reality?

irreverant??????????? been to church lately???????????

He misused the word, but so did you, nutcase. Irreverence has nothing to do with the church. It means showing a lack of due respect

"Davis: Draft Jeb Bush"

Draft Jeb Bush? It'll never happen.

Why? It would force the Rs to start talking about and defending Dubya.

It would force the Rs to start talking about and defending Dubya.

Ture dat.

"Dubya" or as Spud has taken to calling him "The man who wasn't there" due to the GOP's total avoidance of mentioning him in the debates simply doesn't exist any more.

Be Well.

This is no election..

Porky Pig or Magic underwearer Man vs. Obama

Obama 4 more years!

Bush 1. tanked the economy (main reason why he wasn't re-elected)
Bush 2. tanked the economy only reason was re-elected because he was less evil than kerry
Bush 3. Not much left to fuck up, so why not?

What the fuck is it with this political system trying to establish monarchies where whole families are elected after proving time and time again that the only good their around for is to hand out favors to those who got them elected?

Bush, Clinton, Kennedy etc.

If I'm being chronological the Afghanistan war would be first. I knew is was a mistake to put boots on the ground but it just got worse.
#52 | Posted by paneocon

Well, it's an improvement on the usual pathological. And what about the war in Iraq? It was just as illegal as Afghanistan, if not more. Wanting to appropriate oil resources is not a recognized reason to declare war, by any international convention.

Jeb Bush won't be the GOP nominee, if for nothing else these reasons:

1) It will be a liability to the GOP if his brother W. attends the convention.

2) It will be an embarrassment to the GOP if his brother W. does not attend the convention.
