Patrick B. Pexton ombudsman

I think there was way too little coverage of his record in the Illinois Senate and U.S. Senate, for example, with one or two notably good exceptions. But there were hard-hitting stories too, even a very tough one on Michelle Obama's job at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

Some of this has been looked at already in Post coverage. But collecting it in one place on the Web would be helpful, as well as looking deeper, now with more hindsight and evidence, at Obama's record

Glad you finally woke up, Washington Post. Too bad you didn't do that 4 years ago, 4 million jobs ago, 6.2 trillion in spending ago, and before more regulation than any presidency in history.

Article makes good points but talk is cheap. I guess we will see if Obama's state of the union gets a proper inspection from the post on Wednesday. I doubt it, an ombudsman is not an editor.

Oh, yeah, now the Post gets some "religion". The damage done will take years to treat. It's kind of like hiring a groundskeeper at your mansion without vetting and then coming home after a long vacation and finding everything turned upside down with all your valuables missing, the grounds gone to seed, and the dogs running loose. The MSM is a joke and has no redeeming value. They've become a symbol of derision since they're basically a propaganda machine with a sick agenda.

They've become?

It was by design.

"Washington Post Admits Fawning over Obama"

I don't think PainedCon could write an accurate headline if his one remaining nut was at stake.

The guy who wrote the article is an ombudsmen who doesn't speak for the WP but to and at> the paper,.

The WP has "admitted" nothing of any sort, and PainedCon either knows it (and lies) or is simply too stupid to comprehend what he (presumably) reads.

PainedCon: Dissembling and mendacity, stock-in-trade.

Ombudsman
A man who investigates complaints and mediates fair settlements, especially between aggrieved parties such as consumers or students and an institution or organization.

You're once again wrong, Doc.

You're once again wrong, Doc.

Somebody, a kind soul with lots of patience, needs to take you aside for a crash course on rudimentary reading comprehension and research skills.

I described ombudsman Pexton as someone "who doesn't speak for the WP but to and at the paper."

You feebly come back with a definition you lifted without attribution from www.thefreedictionary.com

The fact of the matter is that Pexton's job as ombudsman is described by his employers - the WP - as one in which he "represents readers who have concerns or complaints on topics including accuracy, fairness, ethics and the newsgathering process" (www.washingtonpost.com).

IN other words, he "doesn't speak for the WP but to and at the paper."

Just like I said.

Jeezus, but you're getting more disconnected from reality by the day. Those brown bottles with the white tops in that cigar box at the foot of your bed? They're your meds, kiddo. Take 'em.

"And that’s what The Post needs to do in covering his reelection campaign this year: be hard-hitting on his record and provide fresh insight and plenty of context to put the past three rough years into perspective."

Strange I should get THIS email below the night before this thread shows up on the DR. Does this maybe mean we're FINALLY gonna get some factual data about this disaster of a Great Community Organizing president? (Take some Immodium, Doc, save wear and tear on the ol' skivbvies.)

"This Coming Sunday -- Jan. 22, 2012 - Set Your DVR for the Fox News channel at 9:00 PM eastern. Maybe this is why the White House has been discounting FOX. Sounds like this could be history in the making - someone may go down - either Obama or Fox News. It may be that Fox has been holding this information back due to the sensitivity of it and out of courtesy. But, Obama has taken on Fox and it appears they are ready to spill the ugly beans of truth about the background of this individual who has had an extremely radical past.

This Sunday, Fox News is going to air a very important documentary about Barack Obama, Sunday night at 9 P.M. Eastern.

The report will go back to Obama's earlier days, showing even then his close ties to radical Marxist professors, friends, spiritual advisers, etc. It will also reveal details about his ties to Rev. Wright for 20+ years, i.e., how he was participating with this man, and not for the reasons he stated. The report has uncovered more of Obama's radical past and we will see things that no one in the media is willing to put out there. It will be a segment to remember.

Mark your calendar and pass this on to everyone you know: Sunday night, 8 PM CT; 9 PM ET. Democrat or Republican, this report will open your eyes to how YOUR country is being sold down the road to Totalitarian Socialism. If you care about the direction of our country, pass this notice on to everyone you know."

This is all I know about it.

You've been played, Jest.

All that shit you just quoted? It goes back to August 2009.

"Strange I should get THIS email below the night before this thread shows up on the DR."

Strange, that you're on a mailing list of nutters who receive looney-tune "information" intended for the childishly naive and terminally aggrieved? Hardly.

"Strange, that you're on a mailing list of nutters who receive looney-tune "information" intended for the childishly naive and terminally aggrieved? Hardly."

Perhaps...but I'm accustomed to "nutters" and "looney-tune information" after spending time on the DR with you and your little "progressive" butt buddies. Nothing much surprises me any more. You and your little "progressive" pals are pretty fucked up, so fucked up you make Hogan's goat look like a well-calibrated precision instrument...quality entertainers though. Especially YOU, Doc. You should leave the "hallowed halls" and do some stand-up comedy. I bet you'd be an instant hit.

With your little nutter friends who're also mired in looney-tune information? Sure, just like misery, looneyness loves company.

Who does ombudsman Pexton work for? "hint it starts with a Was....."
The Washington Post

What paper was it posted in? The Washington Post

Did the editor OK it to print in the The Washington Post? Yes

Doc, Oh great Oracle of Obfuscation. you can try to change the subject all you want but the context of the article stands.

Lets get to the meat here, and there is quite a lot of meat.

How are his, and Congress's, choices on the financial crisis and bailouts looking now, three years later? Were banks regulated too much or not enough? Was enough done to ease the mortgage and foreclosure problems? What do nonpartisan economists say about this record?

Tarp reallocation, Bank bailouts, forcing GM primary bond holders to take 17 cents on the dollar to pave away to the biggest giveaway to unions in the history of America. Dodd Frank with compliance costs running into the millions and no effect on too big to fail. Sec regulation that allow MF global to cover it's shorts with investor funds. I could go on for hours.

Any comments on the actual article Doc? tic toc

"With your little nutter friends who're also mired in looney-tune information? Sure, just like misery, looneyness loves company."

I kinda figure that's why you're here...you want the company of your little "progressive," looney friends. As for me, I'm here for the comedy. Think about it, if I want intellect, I would probably go watch The learning Channel or National Geographic. If it's comedy and entertainment I seek, I come here to the DR for the quality looney-tune product you and your little friends provide for us.

"Lets get to the meat here, and there is quite a lot of meat."

Doc is one of the "elite." He dines on tofu, bean sprouts and quiche. No meat for him!

Sounds like a Sean Hannity piece but I'll check it out. I think almost everything that a sane electorate would need to take a pass on Barry is out there but the media was covering his tracks so well too few people knew. Frank Marshal Davis for Christ sakes. The right media had us look for Barry's birth certificate when his child hood mentor (by his own words) was Frank Marshal Davis? What more does any sane person need to know. Toss in a Tony Rezko and a Bill Ayers and you have at best a congressman from some inner city precinct in Chicago.

"Sounds like a Sean Hannity piece but I'll check it out."

Like I said, that's all I know about that email. I'm not concerned because if such a program exists I already know all I wanna know about the history of our Esteemed Community Organizer, Obammus Caesar. Besides, I'll be watching the second half of the Giants and Forty-Niners.

Take a quote from the email, use it for a search, and you'll end up at Snopes.com.

Time for you losers to unveil The Whitey Tape.

LOL!

Not the night I would break any major news story.

NFL Schedule: Playoffs
Ravens vs Patriots -3:00 PM (ET)
Giants vs 49ers -6:30 PM (ET)

Oh puhleeeeeez! Rupert Murdoch alone owns enough newspapers and TV news outlets to fully vet Obama and report on anything he has done or failed to do during his entire career. Pretending that more anti-Obama reporting by the Washington Post would have resulted in the election of McCain/Palin is ridiculous. Those two could not have been elected even if the Democrats hadn't nominated anyone, America rejected them because John McCain is an insane war monger (bomb, bomb, bomb, let's bomb Iran) and Palin is unqualified for any national office. Obama won on change and with Obamacare he delivered on change, to pretend differently is to ignore the biggest change to our social safety net in fifty years.

"Obama won on change and with Obamacare he delivered on change,.."

He damn sure did THAT...I wonder if the change could have anything to do with all the people saying the country is on the wrong track?

Obama won on change and with Obamacare he delivered on change

That's about all he delivered on; the change (no longer bills) the increasingly poor Americans have in their pockets. Another 4 more years of the Oblungler and we won't have to even be concerned about having "change" in our pockets; we will have reached third world country status.

"He damn sure did THAT...I wonder if the change could have anything to do with all the people saying the country is on the wrong track?"

Here in Florida healthcare insurance companies are going to be sending refund check totally $145,000,000 to consumers. Think that will change anyone's minds about Obamacare? My sister has her 25 year old daughter on her plan now, think she wants Obamacare taken away? I know a young woman just diagnosed with breast cancer and because of Obamacare she can go buy the insurance she needs to treat it, think her or her family want an end to Obamacare now???? People all over the country are discovering that Obamacare is benefiting them and they aren't going to want to see it taken away.

Classic lefty statement---promise everything to everybody---totally selfish concept and we wonder why we're heading to financial oblivion.

"People all over the country are discovering that Obamacare is benefiting them..."

Obviously...that's why the majority of the public wants it to be repealed.

Danni's got a person bug over Barry care so prepare for a year or so of whining and posting of pr Barry Care article. In her honor

Health Care Law

52% Think Repeal of Health Care Law Likely

I think some do. I suspect that most liberals have lived a life free of consequences. Didn't have to work their way through school, never created a source of income on their own. You can see it in their "ends justifies the means" attitude and the constant assumption that someone else will always pay for these programs. Perpetual kicking the can down the road.

sounds like the tax-cut/deregulation kool-aid that the rw has been drinking. anarchy will solve all of our problems they promise and manslop can't get enough of it.

"Classic lefty statement---promise everything to everybody"

And let me guess: you're just about to vote for the guy who says he's going to slash taxes, increase the military strength, and balance the budget, right? Yet you're worried about candidates promising everything to everybody?!?

Jeebus, you are one dumb sumbitch, PainedCon. Check the link I provided and you'll get the jist of the guy's job. He does not speak for the WP as you appear to - mistakenly (chalk it up to ignorance) - believe. He speaks to and at the paper, not for it. Clearly, specifically, that's his job.

Which is why your headline is - no surprise - bullshit.
