Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Sunday, January 22, 2012

The state budget proposed by Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear (D), which he calls "inadequate for the needs" of the people, has $286 million in cuts including a 6.4 percent cut to higher education. At the same time, the state is giving a $43 million tax break to a Bible-themed amusement park that will include a 500-by-75-foot reproduction of Noah's Ark. Proponents of the park, including Beshear, claim it will boost tourism and jobs, but those assumptions are based on a report done by the park's developers, according to ThinkProgress.

What a sad, funny, poignant, and maddening headline. In fact, damn near brilliant (the headline, not what it reports).

But the creationist theme park is education.

.

Kentucky is determined to live up to the stereotypes people have of Kentuckians. Sorry if the truth hurts.

But the creationist theme park is education.

In the sense that a smart couple can bring their kids there and warn them if they don't get a proper education they may end up one day coming to a place like a Creationist theme park and enjoying it without the slightest hint of irony?

Can't argue with that.

Be Well.

KFC is tasty.

Well one good thing. In Kentucky by law every citizen is required to take a shower once a year. Which means there won't be any stinking creationist at least part the year.

"Sorry if the truth hurts."

It does. Thanks.

No one knows as much about KY as dr. likesdick.

.......while the park is a testament to American ignorance.......
.
.......if they can whip up some viable business as a theme park, then one could make the case of the tax exemption being like stimulus spending......
.
........this one is a toss up.......

It's a pretty sad state of affairs in Kentucky.

Trust me, I live here.

#3 Texas, Arizona, South Carolina, and now Kentucky! have you ever noticed how quickly danni denigrates entire populations!

The dr left, holier than thou!! They know better, cause....they know so!!

Welcome to the bible belt. Lets not have education get in the way of proper "Propaganda Indoctrination"

"The dr left, holier than thou!! They know better, cause....they know so!!"

Sorry DTW, it's clearly the righties who believe they are holier than anybody else. Because-well somebody told them the Bible says so.

Proponents of the park, including Beshear, claim it will boost tourism and jobs, but those assumptions are based on a report done by the park's developers, according to ThinkProgress.

Right. I'm sure there's just millions waiting to flock to this shithole of ignorance...if only the damned highway exchange were in better condition!

"Why that's the dangest coincidence ever. My Uncle Joe happens to own all the land around that there intersection. Maybe he could be persuaded into selling the land for an upgrade!"

Gov. Beshear

Dumber they is the more likely they will go to the park and spend their welfare checks!

Going backwards fast...

wtg Kentucky!!
you Mo-rons...

I am sure that Jesus would want to deprive children an education so that there could be a theme park built which will completely miss the point of everything he ever did, said or stood for...

If one is against everything Christ taught and work against the very premise of his word , what does that make you???

I am willing to bet a Satanic park with a Hedonistic theme would generate far more revenue.

It's called Las Vegas...

"including a 6.4 percent cut to higher education"

BS-- nothing ever gets cut in Government. betting they asked for 20% got a 13.6% increase and call it a 6.4% cut.

Strange that all those clay tombs built in Egypt before the flood were not washed away, also funny that the Phoenicians did not write about the flood, they loved papyrus. Why don't they cover the severe inbreeding of Noah's family.

Why does God need a tax break?

"Oh, HIV? I just did that for the lulz."
~ God, the "Intelligent Designer"

its called the tenth amendment...if citizens there dont like how they spend thier money...vote them out...and try some new ones..

but as always...here in our little clubhouse, its another day...ANOTHER DAY filled with homage to alinsky.......

According to Alinsky, the main job of the organizer is to bait an opponent into reacting. "The enemy properly goaded and guided in his reaction will be your major strength."[2]

5. "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage."

9
13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. In conflict tactics there are certain rules that [should be regarded] as universalities. One is that the opposition must be singled out as the target and 'frozen.'...

I guess it is a sound business decision: they have to cut the number of the educated to increase the number of believers.

"According to Alinsky"

Hey aflac, who gave you rightwing drones the order to use "Alinsky" in every post? Was it Freelove Pothead Gingrich or Hannity?

know your enemy....

and goddamn libfux in dc are the enemy to this once great republic....

I did not know the republicans are so impressed with Alinsky, how else did they come up with - marxist, communist, kenyan, elitist, European socialist, job killing puppy hater?

Just a coincidence I guess?
