Excellent headline.

What is it about values-deficient GOP candidates that makes them darlings of a party espousing values?

Unkle Karl must be farting blue monkeys right about now.

There's a report David Axelrod's been spotted on the skydeck of Chicago skyscraper formerly known as the Sears Tower, grinning like a madman, waving his hands in air, dancing a mazurka, and yelling, "Top a the world, Ma, top a the world!"

There's also some news about Rev Al and Newt at a Ham House cafe.... I'm not sure I want to hear this story....

Just a hint of the kind of craziness we'll be hearing down the road as loons try to foist this bloated clown across as The Guy Who'll Show Obama What's What:

Keith Ablow, Fox News Psychiatrist:
Newt Gingrich's Infidelity Might Make Him A Better President

www.huffingtonpost.com

I'm surprised it only takes one psychiatrist to meet the crying needs of the folks at Fox "News."

The lulzy part?

The way the Anybody But Romney contingent switched over to Gingrich after Cain dropped out due to allegations of a history of sexual impropriety.

Newt "Serial philanderin', open-,marriage wantin', it doesn't matter what I do it's what I say" Gingrich?

For the hard of thinking Spud will repeat that louder.

SPUD SED THAT AFTER CAIN GOT TURFED FOR SEXUAL IMPROPRIETY THEIR FIRST THOUGHT WAS "HOW ABOUT NEWT?".

Newt freaking Gingrich.

Not sure whether to larf or cry over this one.

Newt pretty came right out and said just before the vote that that if he won in SC he would take the nom and if he didn't he was gonna drop out so Spud reckoned this win didn't really surprise him.

Well, it mostly looks like the GOP has gone from snoozefest/coronation to barn-burner overnight with these result plus the late Santorum win.

Mostly.

Angry, overweight, white male whose Republican colleagues found him to be unethical scum and forced him out of the Speakership, turned sanctimonious, whore-for-money Inside-the-Beltway grifter with overblown pretensions to being an intellectual, married to his former mistress, and who seems, always, about three nanoseconds from imploding...well, who to better carry the GOP's standard out of South Carolina?

"Angry, overweight, white male "

Leroy could mitigate the Porky Pig image if he picked Crisco Christie, the Human Hindenberg, as his VP.

I understand why RCade changed the headline, but I'm still fond of the original "Ethics-Challenged Frmr. Speaker" kick-off statement. C'est la vie, c'est la guerre, c'est l'amour, c'est l'Drudge Retort.

Now THAT is funny!

Maybe they could bring in Paul Deen as Secretary of Health and Human Services.

-well, who to better carry the GOP's standard out of South Carolina?

Stephen Colbert will be taking credit got this....

Too funny!!!

The top 2 Republican candidates are a 1%er & Flip Flopper extremely out of touch with average Americans, and the other a serial adulterer who was chased out of Congress amid ethics charges.

So Doc, I liked my "Rmoney Gets Shocked and Awed!"... but as usual Rodgers is the sensible one.

Even a blind pig can occasionally find an acorn. But wow, just think,a home wrecking First Lady who moonlights modeling for blow-up dolls. Yikes.

HP's Howard Fineman writes:

Mitt Romney's campaign has the best lawyers and delegate counters in the business, and it's a good thing: He's going to need every one of them.

Once he had hoped for an early-state clean sweep, after "winning" on caucus night in Iowa. Now Romney and his campaign are hunkering down for a months-long battle to accumulate the 1,144 delegates needed to win the Republican presidential nomination.....

South Carolina...is winner-take-all, statewide and by congressional district, which means that Gingrich's victory in the Palmetto State will probably give him the delegate lead.

And now a fight is brewing over Florida. Like South Carolina, Florida was penalized with a drastic loss of delegates for moving its primary up to January. There has been talk that Florida might be punished further by forcing the state to distribute its delegates by proportional representation.

If that happens, there could be a floor fight at the Republication National Convention. And it's only January, folks.

Doesn't rob it of any of its fun, though, does it, Corky?

So, Willard goes from looking like 3 wins in a row to 1 win each in a couple of days.

He might not even be ahead in the delegate count.

If Newt can provide fodder for this many laughs on the DR of a Saturday night in January, imagine what he's capable of stimulating over the next few months (if he lasts that long)? Mindboggling, simply mindboggling.

I wonder if Karl Rove's given any thought to seppuku.

Now if this Wind-Up-Cliche-Mongering-Flip- Flopping-Fake had a soul of his own...

Found this mildly amusing:

media.zenfs.com

"Newt deemed winner at 4% reporting?! Why even bother counting votes anymore?"

It's a projection based on a statistical model that...oh, forget it. To you, it's probably easier for David Copperfield to explain how he made the Statue of Liberty disappear.

Good times... what's not to like when Nutty Newty and Rick F-ing Santorum can frustrate the Rmoney Machine.

Proves exactly what I've said all along: Newt knows how to play the game and knows what to say. (who else with all the negative publicity from an exwife could still rise in the polls?) If for no other reason, I hope he gets the nomination because his tearing Obama's head off during the debates will be something that historians and speech class teachers and professors talk about for decades.

MItt just said the at he lost because Republicans were, "questioning mah capitalist AuthoritA.

Commander Data appeared more human than Flipper. He might very well be the first android to run for President.

Keep this in mind everyone, Obama is a pathetic loser who may be the worst President in the history of our country.

Obama is a worthless clown who isn't fit to run a coffee shop and he needs to be bounced, quick.

I think I understand where you're coming from on that debate stuff, Goatman. The problem is, tv - as was recognized by JFK's handlers, is a cool, as opposed to a hot, medium. Gingrich doesn't know how to be cool, especially when he gets his mano a mano going. Obama is cool, Gingrich hot. What may provide red meat for The Base in a primary isn't likely to work for the general population in November.

I'm trying to keep up, but I'm not sure who commander data or flipper are.

Are there any adults in the audience?

- Are there any adults in the audience? -

None seemed in evidence in the primary, why should this be any different?

Rex-regardless of your thoughts about Obama, you gotta admit the GOP hasn't offered anyone good enough to clean his balls. Golf balls, that is.

I'd love to see poll results by gender. I wouldn't be surprised if Obama won 70% of the women's vote in a race against Gingrich.

GOATMAN -

The JFK cool, Nixon hot business goes back to Marshall McLuhan's analysis of their 1960s debates. (It may be in his Understanding Media, not sure.) Radio, he contended, is a hot medium, tv cold. As I recall, there's some data that people who watched the first of the JFK-Nixon debates on tv thought JFK won; those who listened on the radio gave the nod to Tricky.

-I wouldn't be surprised if Obama won 70% of the women's vote in a race against Gingrich.

He and the FL should get the Family Values vote, too, as the only non- adulterous couple in the race.

Terrific point. Gingrich apparently did okay among today's voters, but they're The Base. I can imagine many women thinking of Gingrich as a particularly and odiously slimy member of the opposite sex.

"Fox News was the first cable network to project GOP candidate Newt Gingrich will beat Mitt Romney in the Palmetto state," said an announcement the network emailed to reporters on Saturday night. It made the call at 6:59:44 p.m.

MSNBC took a slightly more reserved approach -- waiting until a few seconds after 7 p.m. to declare Mr. Gingrich the winner.

Google "exit poll." You'll learn something.

I told you 4 years ago what Obama was, but you voted for him anyways, now you KNOW he is a failure.

You can't claim ignorance when you next step into the ballot box, vote Obama out of office.

As I recall, there's some data that people who watched the first of the JFK-Nixon debates on tv thought JFK won; those who listened on the radio gave the nod to Tricky.

I heard it was something as simple as Nixon's 5:00 shadow that lost the TV debate. Makes sense if he won on radio

Exit polls had Paul in second, Doc.
#54 | Posted by adammm

The one I'm looking at - elections.nytimes.com - had him tied with Rick Santorum among males, trailing badly among females. I think you'll find exit polls are a bit more complicated than you appear to believe.

Are exit polls absolutely accurate? Of course not. That's why the term "projected winner" is used. The information is massaged with mathematical models - sexy stuff, eh? - and there's a margin of error. Sometimes the call comes early, as the moment the polls close (or at Fox "News") even before they close.

What's your problem with this, anyway?

"I heard it was something as simple as Nixon's 5:00 shadow that lost the TV debate."

His haggard appearance, probably (I believe he'd been ill), and sweating, lots of sweat on his upper lip. JFK, on the other hand, appeared rested, tanned, relaxed (probably just got laid, quien sabe).

I don't know about that -- the "family values" vote overlaps too much with the racist vote and the conservative vote.

It's not Gingrich's infidelity that I expect to turn women off -- Bill Clinton remained popular with women. It's his half-crazy, hyper-macho, rude, arrogant narcissistic blowhard persona. A lot of men see it as impressive dominance behavior; women are more likely to see him as a childish, self-absorbed asshole.

-now you KNOW he is a failure.

With the economy trending up and bin Ladin sleeping wif da fishes, he looks a lot less a failure than Mitt Romney tonight... and Nutty Newty any night.

There's probably still time for Romney to switch to Democrat and be 0bama's running mate birds of a feather and all that

Corky,

All kidding aside. I made sure that I was still registered Republican back in November so that I could caucus for Ron Paul here in Colorado. I registered for the 2008 Colorado Republican caucus and I didn't even know what it was at that time. I showed up and my little group elected a delegate that supported Romney (or was it McCain?)

It was great. We swayed some voters over to Ron Paul, but overwhelmingly, the room was for some NeoCon , bush-style stupid fuck.

Now that a majority of the Conservatives and some of the Liberals believe that Ron Paul is right in what he says and is making headway and could very well win the nomination, the NeoCon Republican power is railing against him.

I feel defeated and trapped in a never ending cycle of destruction.

I hate the Republican Party now (after disagreeing with the Democrat Party). I feel betrayed and disgusted.

Even if Gingrich doesn't win the nomination, I would pay to see a Gingrich/Obama debate with the Lincoln/Douglas format. I bet Obama would refuse because he would know Gingrich would tie him in knots and make him look like the imposter he is.

They're doing the same thing the right did with the Breck girl.

Now I have to reheat my Chinese leftovers.

Newt won't be the nominee and the only reason I regret it is the debates would be a gas. Heck it wouldn't even be a debate; it would be a mauling---it would be an obamination.

Gingrich would tie him in knots and make him look like the imposter he is.

Assuming Newt gets paid a couple million for it AND gets to bang an intern he might show up. Basically he'd just do what he usually does, throw a bunch of big words out to impress the yokels and lie about everything he's done in his life.

But first he really needs to produce his birth certificate.

Rwingers were concerned, they said, that McCain was a loose cannon.

Newt is an IED just waiting for someone to run over him so he can blow up.

Let me say this again slowly.

If you voted for Obama, you fucked the country.

The GOP base needs to be fired up. In all honesty, Newt is the only remaining candidate that has that potential. He'll be on the ticket somewhere. Cheney was no Saint and we all know how he is perceived by that base.

Newt Gingrich stormed to victory in the South Carolina Republican primary on Saturday, coming from more than 10 points down in pre-election surveys taken just a week earlier.

The CBS News exit poll of South Carolina Republican primary voters showed that his impressive debate performance during the last week of the campaign enabled him to assemble a coalition of tea partiers, evangelicals, and young white men. Mitt Romney, the frontrunner for much of the last month in South Carolina, was hurt by attacks on his role investment firm Bain Capital and his weak answers about why he does not want to release his tax returns.

That's not true. The events that we saw during the Bush Administration started on Christmas Eve 1913 and began to escalate before the Kennedy Administration. Kennedy opposed it and paid. Johnson nursed it and Nixon gave it to the world--the rich of the world.

Question is... Are we (the world) all richer for it? or are we doomed to pay for it?

If I wanted someone to the left of Cindy Sheehan on Iran and military matters, I would vote for Cynthia McKinney.

Neither one will happen.

I want someone with experience, smart and electable.

160. Hope you're not thinking Newt. Then. Gravitas? I'm also not sure how electable he is.

Hey Murphy, did Willard! use a teleprompter in his loser speech tonight?

Ah, Republicans... they cheer for capital punishment, they boo the Golden Rule, and now they think the man to return the country to good Christian values is a guy that's been divorced twice? who are these people? i can understand being sick of Obama's shit, but really? just take a cab to hell, okay? it's cheaper than bringing the rest of the country there with you. Damn.

Eddie, why do Paultards act as if everything Ron Pual says is some sort of manna from God?

Do you disagree with anyting he says or believes or is it some sort of total package acceptance like Obamonauts?

Rex,

Again!

You are stupid or you take too many drugs. I am not arguing you with you.

You are being fucked by the powers you pray to.

Don't insult me by thinking your insults insult me.

My previous post (you know, the one with the big rich neocon dicks down your throat) depicts the situation you are in. Heed it or perish.

They really don't care if you live or die. They crave your support, but they will eventually kill you.

(To my Liberal friends, this is how I talk to Republicans "Bush Republicans" in Colorado, the girls love it).

I didn't see Mitt nulli--did he?

Prag--you don't think Newt has experience? Mitt has experience as well.

Obama had none and still learning on the job. He needs to go.

As for Newt--his unfavorables are high. Needs to work on that.

I didn't see Mitt nulli--did he?

Hahahaha, Eddie, I have been following politics since I was 12.

I didn't just fall of some turnip truck and onto Ron Pauls diaper, I've forgotten more about how the world and the U.S. functions on every level, then you will ever learn.

For the most part Paultards just stumbled across this old nutter and fell in love with his mania, I've followed Paul for 25 years, and he is just as crazy in the head as he has ever been.

I'm a neo-con republican, I am not a libertarian.

When I hear Ron Paul speak, I go, 'WTF did he just say?!?!?!', not, 'cool daddio, Ron is spot on.'

Every time Rexy posts something, I have to reassess my estimation of his age.

Great night for Newt--yes Goatman?? ;o)

This will go to Mitt and Newt with RP 'nipping' at their heels.

And watch for the establishment all go for Mitt and the others go for Newt.

For some reason the congress is not liking the prospect of having a President Newt...lol

Rex, You intrigue me. You are now engaging and my previous post was in response to something you said earlier.

No, I do not agree with everything Ron Paul talks about. We are all individuals ~ Wow! didn't mean to bring the American Constitution into this.

All that aside and giving a drive-by idiot like you a benefit of the doubt, I am not a Libertarian. I am a "Conservative American"

Let me iconize that: a "Conservative American"

What that means is that I believe in the original American Revolution of 1776 and what came of it over the last 236 years. It's great stuff, you should look it up.

Rex, I am giving you some slack since you asked a legitimate question. Don't be a wack-job... K?

For some reason the congress is not liking the prospect of having a President Newt...lol

Those who served with him know him best, and don't like him Also describe him as a very unstable person prone to deep mood swings and depression.

Eddie, Ron Paul didn't write the constitution and he doesn't have some sort of patent right on how it is used.

If you are a constitutionalist, you should be a Michelle Bachmann fan, not Dr. Pauls.

Obama purported himself to be a constitutional scholar, and he has shit on it every day he has been in office.

Here is a question for you, why would any real republican (not a libertarian) vote for someone to the far far left of Obama on military matters?

There are less people on food stamps now under Obama than there were under Bush.

???

This isn't true, AU. This article is from last august 28. So unless there has been a very, very dramatic drop since then, you are incorrect. Not only has it not droppped as you claim, it is close to doubled since four years ago.

As a result, the number of people seeking federal help with groceries has been soaring. At this time four years ago, before the recession hit, about 27 million people were using food stamps. Today 46 million get help through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program â€" what most people call food stamps â€" which is roughly 15 percent of the population.

Newt's speech compliments all the candidates--including Paul for his views on the Federal Reserve, fiat money, inflation...

And Newt going after Obama--priceless. Weak, dangerous and out of touch. Pretty bad for an American President to make partners of Canada and China.

Paul is skipping Florida. He'll be in the debate. But he is going to NV CO and MN for the caucuses. The GOP will need to give some kind of olive branch to Paul for the convention.

Paul Begala's take (www.thedailybeast.com):

But above it all we can hear the weeping, the wailing, the gnashing of teeth of the Republican establishment as Gingrich's victory sends them into full-blown panic. I'm not talking about mere fear, nor normal nervousness. Not even the feeling you get when the captain says, "We've lost power in one of our four engines." No, this is worse. Worse even than when your doctor says, "I don't like the looks of that shadow on the X-ray."

This is terror. Chest-clutching, breath-sucking, soul-shaking panic. This is your teenage daughter telling you, "I think I'm in trouble." This is a Turkish border guard pulling you into a holding room when you've got a baggie of coke in your pocket. This is what George H.W. Bush famously called "deep doo-doo."

The Republican Party has never seen anything like it. Republicans are hierarchical, orderly, disciplinedâ€"everything the Democrats are not.
At the end, he asks: "Will Romney's money and endorsements be able to overwhelm Gingrich's electrifying debate performances? They weren't in South Carolina. But Romney has an ace in the hole. The one person who has consistently derailed Newt Gingrich's political career is Newt Gingrich."

#176 | Posted by MURPHY

Um, no. That's been the view of Republicans who served with him in Congress for years.

AU, do you have a link to back up your food stamp claim upthread?

GOATMAN

www.usatoday.com

Gingrich goes too far to say Obama has put more on the rolls than other presidents. We asked the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition service for month-by-month figures going back to January 2001. And they show that under President George W. Bush the number of recipients rose by nearly 14.7 million. Nothing before comes close to that.

And under Obama, the increase so far has been 14.2 million. To be exact, the program has so far grown by 444,574 fewer recipients during Obama's time in office than during Bush's.

From your link, AU:

And under Obama, the increase so far has been 14.2 million.
Fact is, you are wrong. You stated:

There are less people on food stamps now under Obama than there were under Bush

This simply isn't true by any spin. 46 million is a larger number than 26 million. No weird math, spin, distorting lens can change that.

Sorry, buy your statement is wrong. Even the link you provide to "prove" it disagrees with you.

And, under Bush & the GOP Congress, we were supposed to be having a great economy, right? I keep seeing fright wingers trotting out unemployment numbers. Any sane person wouldn't argue that we've been in the deepest recession since the Great Depression since before Obama took office.

How did Bush manage to have been responsible for more people signing up for food stamps than any other U.S. President in history with that great 'ownership society' and low unemployment numbers most of his presidency until the house of credit cards and equity loans the Bush economy was built on fell down ?

And, under Bush & the GOP Congress, we were supposed to be having a great economy, right?

Sorry, AU, deflections to Bush don't hide the fact you are wrong.

At least you'll have someone to vote FOR if Gingrich wins the nomination, GOATMAN. I know you're a fan. Gingrich may have smarts, but he sure has a lot of baggage. Personal and professional ethic problems up the wazoo.

Oh, and wouldn't you expect more people would be on food stamps during the deepest recession since the 30's and 40's? Most would.

If Gingrich is the nominee expect a 40 state win for Obama.

#207 --

AU, you'd get a better response and more respect if you simply admit you were wrong instead of spinning.

Oh, and wouldn't you expect more people would be on food stamps during the deepest recession since the 30's and 40's? Most would.

I have no idea. I've never studied the nuances of government assisted food programs during economic downturns. But what does this have to do with your statement:

There are less people on food stamps now under Obama than there were under Bush

"Gingrich would have been correct to say the number now on food aid is historically high. The number stood at 46,224,722 persons as of October, the most recent month on record. And it's also true that the number has risen sharply since Obama took office."

So the fact he claims Obama has increased the number isn't the story, but saying how many were, is what should be taken away from Ginrich's comment. That's fucking priceless. The GOP can't critized Obama for it not going down and should ignore it has gone up?

"But Gingrich goes too far to say Obama has put more on the rolls than other presidents. We asked the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition service for month-by-month figures going back to January 2001. And they show that under President George W. "And under Obama, the increase so far has been 14.2 million. To be exact, the program has so far grown by 444,574 fewer recipients during Obama's time in office than during Bush's."

HTF can they print that without laughing? 14.7 by a two term pres, and 14.2 by less than one term and getting worse? Bush in 8 years is worse than Obama in less than three? LMFAO! Hth can this being taken seriously? Or the publication which prints this trash?

Why am I surprised a loser like A Undy pretends this helps his pathetic case?

"How did Bush manage to have been responsible for more people signing up for food stamps than any other U.S. President in history with that great 'ownership society' and low unemployment numbers most of his presidency until the house of credit cards and equity loans the Bush economy was built on fell down?"

Easy... Look up the brilliant party leaders who claimed Gov assistance is the fastest and most effective stimulant to the economy. They had 4 years to prove that theory from 2007-2011, and almost 47 million just in Food Stamps alone today are living proof the Congressional dems are clueless and more at fault than either Bush or Obama.

#207 --

AU, you'd get a better response and more respect if you simply admit you were wrong instead of spinning.

#208 | Posted by goatman

I posted the link you asked for. More signed up under Bush - during a supposedly good economy - than Obama during the worst recession since the 30's the majority of Americans assign to Bush by nearly 2-1. Sorry, I don't make up my own numbers.

SC was the base Tea Party-ish people voting against Romney. Neither Romney and Gingrich are the conservatives they'd like the GOP base to be when you look beneath the hood.

Gingrich called Paul Ryan and that bunch 'right wing radicals'. He was for an individual mandate on health insurance, he was for Cap and Trade, he was for a lot of things the Tea Party wing of the Republican base (most of it now) are staunchly against. Then there's the fact that Gingrich can't help "Bad Newt" from coming out and all his other personal and professional baggage. Which Romney has in spades too.

I find Gingrich's talk of 'the Washington crowd' and attempting to distance himself from what he himself is hilarious. As if he hasn't been for decades ... and still is.

More signed up under Bush

In 8 years v Obama's 3 years?

LOL Honestly, AU . . . . More of everything good and bad happens in 8 years vs 3. Surely you aren't pretending that is a valid statistic, are you? Is you love for the zero so, so very blind that you have to resort to this shit?

Besides even if it was a valid stat (which of course it is not -- compare it to Bush's first three years and it will be. Hell, use Bush's last three years if you want) What does that have to do with your statment:

There are less people on food stamps now under Obama than there were under Bush

Why won't you admit that was a lie instead of spinning and throwing out unrelated deflections, AU?

More signed up under Bush - during a supposedly good economy - than Obama during the worst recession since the 30's

Hey, AU, here are some more stats. there were more of the following during Bush's eight years in office than Obama's three. In fact, more than TWICE the amount.

hurricames
tornadoes
car wrecks
deaths
divorces
crime

LOL

You have to be joking when you compare three years of Obama with eight of Bush -- especially when the number you compare (14.7 m v 14.2 m) is less than 1% difference. Are you suggesting that if Obama stays in the WH for 8 years that the number of food stamp recipients will not rise 1 more percent higher than it is today? LOL!!!!

Hell, I'll bet in 2 months he will have surpassed Bush in that number. Certainly by the end of his term next year.

Why do you throw out such meaningless stats and outright lies about Obama?

Oh, I just need to say this----In the end, South Carolinians did not vote for a Mormon. Thwey would not have voted for Herman Cain, either.

OK, GOATMAN. I have a recording session starting in 15 minutes. Have to scoot.

I respect numbers. I post a lot of numbers some cast aside with ideological memes and reasons outside the facts rather than acknowledging them as fact.

Gingrich said, and I quote, "More people have been put on food stamps by Barack Obama than any president in history."'

A statement the numbers do not substantiate as factual. 14.7 vs 14.2 Bush vs Obama. Math.

Gingrich said, and I quote, "More people have been put on food stamps by Barack Obama than any president in history."

Take no offense, but given your erroneous quotes in the past, I'm going to verify that.

And yet again, what does that have to do wtih your statement:

There are less people on food stamps now under Obama than there were under Bush

Nothing. You simply continue to deflect instead of admitting your statement is wrong. Why?

OK, AU, I verified your Gingrich quote. He was wrong. He should have waited another three or four months when it will be true. Stupid move on his part.

"Nothing. You simply continue to deflect instead of admitting your statement is wrong. Why?"

Because he needs SOMTHING to keep him going. You realize, of course, that AU lives in TN. His messiah has as much chance of carrying TN in the general election as I have getting raped by Carla Bruni tonight. He has to live with that EVERY DAY. Have a little pity. Can you imagine how he must have felt when Gore couldn't carry the state and Bush won in 2000?

More Americans died due to terrorist attacks under Bush's first 9 months than Obama's first three year and under Clinton's 8 years.

But you gotta love a Special Eddie/Rex slapp-fest. It's like two tortoises playing chicken.

Here is a question for you, why would any real republican (not a libertarian) vote for someone to the far far left of Obama on military matters?

#174 | Posted by RexZeitgeist at 2012-01-21 11:03 PM |

Ron Paul isn't the pacifist you'd like to make him out to be. You might rather ask yourself the question, why does Ron Paul get more military support than all other candidates combined?

Let us know what you come up with.

Thanks.

GOATMAN

I posted a link above from USATODAY disproving his claim. There are many more to choose from that do the same thing. I'm reporting what's been reported. Facts are facts.

VIDEO of Gingrich making the following statement (which has been proven false):

"More people have been put on food stamps by Barack Obama than any president in American history".

youtu.be

That claim is false.

BTW, "Food stamp enrollment has been rising for more than a decade. President Bush launched a recruitment campaign, which pushed average participation up by 63% during his eight years in office.

Much of what's driving the steep climb in enrollment is the nation's worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, when the food stamp program was created.

Food stamps have become a lifeline for the millions of long-term unemployed. More than 20% of those unemployed for more than six months received benefits, according to Congress' Joint Economic Committee.

"The program is designed to be responsive to economic downturns and it's met the need that's out there," said Dorothy Rosenbaum, the center's senior policy analyst. "These increases are temporary."

I posted a link above from USATODAY disproving his claim

Yes you did. And you also said:

There are less people on food stamps now under Obama than there were under Bush

Which is a lie you've been tap dancing around and deflecting from (like you just did) since.

Just because you were right on something you said later doesn't mean your prior statements are correct. You are clearly wrong on the one I just posted.

In Confident Sign, Gingrich Changes Facebook Status to "In an Open Relationship"

CHARLESTON, SC - In a sign of renewed confidence, just minutes after former House Speaker Newt Gingrich romped to victory in the South Carolina primary he changed his Facebook status to "In an Open Relationship."

Mr. Gingrich made no reference to his new Facebook status during his victory speech, in which he made an emotional appeal to the American people: "I say to each and every one of you: Join me. Join me in my marriage."

The former House Speaker used the speech to highlight the differences between himself and the current resident of the White House: "The American people have a choice: do they want a President who issues food stamps, or one who runs up a $500,000 tab at Tiffany?"

Mr. Gingrich drew cheers and a standing ovation as he concluded his remarks, saying, "In closing, I am staying at the Marriott, Rm. 205. Ladies?"

In yet another boost, Mr. Gingrich received this nod from former rival Herman Cain: "I am not endorsing Newt Gingrich, but I am endorsing Newt Gingrich’s lifestyle."

At the White House, President Obama made only a glancing reference to the results in South Carolina, telling reporters, "I haven’t been this happy since we smoked bin Laden."

For his part, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney minimized Mr. Gingrich's 12% margin of victory: "That's even less than I pay in taxes."
www.borowitzreport.com

This one's no joke, not for ol' Noot:

Chris Christie: Gingrich "Has Been An Embarrassment To The Party"

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie declared on Sunday that Newt Gingrich has been "an embarrassment" to the Republican Party who didn't have the background or capacity to serve as an effective president.

Appearing on "Meet the Press," the top Mitt Romney surrogate didn't refrain from sharp character attacks.

"I think Gingrich has embarrassed the party over time," Christie said. "Whether he'll do it again in the future, I don't know. But Gov. Romney never has."

And he went on from there.

"We all know the record," Christie said. "He was run out of the speakership by his own party. He was fined $300,000 for ethics violations. This is a guy who has had a very difficult political career at times and has been an embarrassment to the party ... I don't need to regale the country with that entire list again except to say this" I'm not saying he will do it again in the future, but sometimes past is prologue."

He is burdened with far too much personal and ethical baggage, is far too prone to needlessly inflammatory and polarizing antics, and turns off far too many voters with his arrogance and unconcealed contempt for his opponents....The more most people see of him, the less they like him."

As George Will has written, the guy "emobdies the vanity and rapacity that make modern Washington repulsive....There is almost artistic vulgarity in Gingrich's unrepented role as a hired larynx for interests profiting from such government follies as ethanol and cheap mortgages. His Olympian sense of exemption from standards and logic allowed him, fresh from pocketing $1.6 million from Freddie Mac (for services as a "historian"), to say, 'If you want to put people in jail,' look at 'the politicians who profited from' Washington's environment."

Here is how I see Newt honestley (not trolling at all):

He has good instincts that his mind overrules. When he gives his gut answer before thinking about it in the grand scheme of politics, he is usually right on the money. Then his mind starts thinking about how what he said will be taken by those whose support he wants and he starts editing and refining it until you get the horrible stupidity we all know and love.

Yes he did despite the media's IEDS and all of Ronmey's money and Sanatorium's sniping.

Don't forget an adult rate of illiteracy close to that of Mississippi's.

Ron Paul isn't the pacifist you'd like to make him out to be. You might rather ask yourself the question, why does Ron Paul get more military support than all other candidates combined?

Um, cuz he's the only one that actually knows Congress is supposed to declare war???

Well you can say one thing if the Newt-wit is elected President (which won't happen)...
There will be no chrome on the bumpers of any of the White House vehicles because Callista will have sucked it all off.

While Bichelle is the most extravagant Worse Lady we have ever had, Callista would break her record for decadence, since the Newt-Wit had to spend almost $500,000 for jewelry at Tiffany's to get her to go along with his entering the Presidential race. Of course, being the deadbeat and crook that Newt-Wit is (remember that he refused to pay child support for his two daughters who now are is biggest cheerleaders - hard to figure that out having attended over 100 child support court hearings for my Grandkids before they put my ex-Son-in-Law in prison for 25 years for raping his girlfriend's daughter after we warned her what a slime ball he was, but she didn't believe us), Tiffany's had to almost sue him to pay his bill. This from a creep that is supposedly worth between $7.3 and $38 million. Federal election laws allow broad definitions of "worth" so pinning down actual worth is difficult.

That is why I laugh when people attack Romney. While I don't like him, at least he actually earned his wealth himself by working. Newt-Wit made his money cheating the taxpayers. His corporations have underpaid Medicare taxes, which cheats all taxpayers.

Romney on the other hand is paying 15% on his investments, which is legal since profits from investments are double taxed since taxes were already paid on company profits. So in reality he isn't paying 15%, he is actually paying 46.5% since the corporations he invests in have already paid 31.5% income taxes before paying dividends to their investors. You and I suffer from this same double taxation on our investments.

Much has been said about Romney having money parked in the Cayman Islands but under US Law, money earned anywhere in the world is subject to our Tax Laws. Besides he only has $8 million of his $250 million there where he could put his whole fortune if he wanted to. So it is a lot of hysteria about nothing.

ORACLE, INTEL, Seagate Tech, Del Monte and Coca Cola are 5 corporations that have Cayman Islands HQ's in order to avoid additional taxes. Del Monte reduced its tax to 1% several years ago and their latest rate was only 3%. So Romney is paying 5 to 15 times the rate of Del Monte in taxes. In fact 25 of the 100 largest U S Government contractors are based there. 10 of the 30 companies that make up the Dow Jones are listed as located in the Caymans. In fact 18,857 companies are listed in one building in the Caymans.
