Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

[T]he Tea Party has proved to be a fraud, betraying the professed ideals from which it sprang.

[Tebaggers] never intended to govern, or -- God forbid -- compromise. They were birthed by Fox News and right-wing radio, where fact-challenged outrage is the blood that keeps the heart pumping.

The public, certainly, has soured on them, even in the reddest of states. A Pew poll in November of 60 districts represented by members of the House Tea Party caucus found that just 25 percent of constituents agreed with the goals of the group.

And because Republicans hitched their wagon to the Tea Party, they share the crash.

[S]ome people are mystified that the Tea Party has disappeared. They shouldn't be. It was a media creation, and such things, whether Kardashian or political, never last.

The hypocrisy of the Teabagger "movement" is exemplified for Eggan

"In the presidential race,Ron Paul, the daft, grandfatherly skinflint who wants to cut a trillion dollars in federal spending right off the top, should be leading the movement’s parade," Eggan points out, highlighting the hypocrisy permeating the Teabagger "movement." "But polls in key primary states show that people who describe themselves as Tea Party members support Mitt Romney,Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum."

So what's the problem? Eggan explain succinctly: "Each of the front-runners, in obvious ways, represents what the Tea Party hates."

But, as usual, the Teabaggers will do what they're accustomed to doing: piss, moan, vote GOPiggy and complain that none of the candidates on the ballot was "conservative enough."

It's enough to start off the day with a laugh.

The poll data on independents is at www.gallup.com

The buyer's remorse poll on the Teabaggers is at www.people-press.org

The bottom line on that poll, according to the Pew Research Center is:

"Since the 2010 midterm elections, the Tea Party has not only lost support nationwide, but also in the congressional districts represented by members of the House Tea Party Caucus. And this year, the image of the Republican Party has declined even more sharply in these GOP-controlled districts than across the country at large....

"The Republican Party's image also has declined substantially among people who live in Tea Party districts. Currently, 41% say they have a favorable opinion of the GOP, while 48% say they have an unfavorable view. As recently as March of this year, GOP favorability was 14 points higher (55%) in these districts, with just 39% offering an unfavorable opinion."

In other words, where the Teabaggers did best in the 2010 election - and where people have actually be exposed to how they behave when installed in office - they suck bad, politically.

Poor Vemrin, a washed up fat-ass expat who knows nearly as little about copyright as he does the scripture in which he pretends to believe.

Too much head-banging at Angola, gummy?

Now, back to the actual topic of the thread: the colossal failure of the Teabaggers. (Speaking of teabagging: Vermin, don't you think it's about time you called it a night and stumbled back to your hootch?)

If you want to see what these folks are like when they get in office - yes the GOPers in the US House of Representatives offer some choice vignettes - take a look at Sam Brownback's performance as governor in KS.

Brownback tried to get someone - anyone - in the GOP interested in him as a potential El Presidente back in 2008, but the response was so tepid he skedaddled before subjecting himself to a single primary.

Brownback's an especially nasty piece of work, but my guess is after the GOP gets stomped in November he'll be lurking along the sidelines, ready to offer himself up in 2016.
