Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Yesterday after the House Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee passed the contentious "Right to Work" bill 8-5, Democrats protested that Republicans refused to allow any amendments to the bill. Under House Rules, Committee Chairman Doug Gutwein, was in the right to refuse any amendments to the bill. This might lead anyone to believe that amendments won't be offered to the bill. They will (most likely during third reading), but Democrats missed the deadline to submit amendments.

Hey chicken rancher, When they say they are gonna "hold his feet to the fire" do you think that torture is threatened? When a politician says he is gonna "cut him off at the knees" do you fear dismemberment?

You are threatening Eddie for the lowest IQ in the house.

even called for legislators (presumably only the Republican members who voted for the bill) to be “tarred and feathered”.

In Hamburg, New York, near Buffalo, leaders of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 17 stand accused of violent acts, threats of violence, and destruction of property. The defendants have denied the allegations, according to the Buffalo News.

According to court papers and to coverage by the Buffalo News, the charges against them include stabbing a knife into the neck of a construction company president, throwing hot coffee at non-union workers, pouring sand into gas tanks and transmissions of 17 construction vehicles, and threatening sexual assault against the wife of a company representative. The racketeering case was first filed in 2008.

Since 1975, the National Institute for Labor Relations Research has collected more than 9,000 reports of union violence. These incidents are recorded and electronically maintained in the Institute’s Violent Event Data File.

"According to court papers and to coverage by the Buffalo News, the charges against them include stabbing a knife into the neck of a construction company president, throwing hot coffee at non-union workers, pouring sand into gas tanks and transmissions of 17 construction vehicles, and threatening sexual assault against the wife of a company representative. They've done it for many, many years and are STILL doing it. They've been joined by the Occutards now too. (Like Pelosi said, "God bless them..." when speaking of those sweet little protesters.)

"President Barack Obama’s administration has ordered the United States Coast Guard to protect grain ships at the Port of Longview from violent “Occupy” protesters and dockworker union members, according to a local news report."

“Ongoing protests by dockworkers since January of last year escalated in September when ILWU members and supporters sought to block a train heading to the terminal,” WSWS’s Hector Cordon wrote. “Two separate attempts to stop the train were suppressed by riot police, who arrested 19 protestors in the process. The next morning several hundred workers and supporters entered the port’s terminal grounds and dumped grain from the train cars.”

"In addition to the attempts to block the train, at least one Longshoremen protester verbally attacked local news media for covering their protests.

“Hey, get your fucking camera out of here, that’s none of your fucking business, you cock bite,” the union member said to a local reporter while grabbing his camera. “Unless you want [to be arrested for] trespassing, get the fuck out of here now. Get out of here now! Don’t fuck with me, partner!”

Looks like they're trying to be as vilolent as the Tea Parties, doesn't it?

Really?, quite a stretch there princess.

Run along home now.

A verbal attack is violence now, Jest? Jeebus, then you're a violent creep! : )

Unions? Kinda broad. And in reading the pieces of the article excerpted at the top of the thread, I see no reference to violence at all. When I care more : ), I'll have to go read the article. Gonna go play with my seven-year-old now. Sometimes, there really are better things to do.

I doubt you have a child, I doubt you have ever had a gf.

Over 500 people "storm" private property, break windows and vandalize other property, wield baseball bats and crowbars, make death threats, and held six guards hostage. Fifty law enforcement officers respond. U.S. Marshalls are placed on standby to enforce a related injunction issued by a federal judge.

It happened yesterday at a grain terminal at Port of Longview in southwest Washington State. The perpetrators? Members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU). The local police chief was quoted as saying, "A lot of the protesters were telling us this is only the start."

Not surprisingly, the incident didn't garner much national attention. Imagine how the coverage by the so-called mainstream media would have differed had anything even remotely similar occurred at a gathering of people of a different political persuasion, say those Tea Party SOBs.

Easy there, Glassy...I'm a devout member of the Sevier County Tea Party...part of the Tea Party Patriots.

"When I care more : ), I'll have to go read the article."

No surprise, Prag...I've known for a while you don't "care" about seeing or hearing anything that might be contrary to what the "progressive" media and sources might be telling you. The unions and Occutards you admire are absolutely, most definitely creating violence and you're not interested, you just don't "care."
That just reinforces what I've told you before, that I accused you of not being well-read.

"The unions and Occutards you admire are absolutely, most definitely creating violence and you're not interested, you just don't "care.""

It was a joke, fool. The little smiley face? That's a cue. And btw, I don't admire "the unions and Occutards." I think that unions are still necessary, and I am a member and leader in ONE union: the NEA. I have not commented much on the Occupy movement at all. Maybe if you actually read what I wrote, you'd know that.

"That just reinforces what I've told you before, that I accused you of not being well-read.

Nah, you're just being your usual asinine self. I'm quite well-read, thanks. I chose not to read this article and to make a single comment about your apparent definition of violence (which you summarily ignored for the fun of attacking me) and to prioritize time with my family over reading a DR article. Perhaps over lunch, I'll do the read. My wife is glaring at me right now.

10--Yeah, fuck off, moron. Married 10 years last year, two kids aged 7 and 5. But you may choose to believe what you believe; it seems to give you some sort of comfort.

10--Yeah, fuck off, moron.

Two things... playing didn't last long, and it appears it wasn't as fun as previously imagined......

My guess the seven-year old had better things to do.........

HEADLINE IS A LIE.

Oh, wait, it's AssHouse.

andrea you ever played with a 7 year old?

I played backugan with my 9 year old and it lasted about 10-15 then he was making his own rules and within 5 min he was out of the room on to something else. About the only time he plays at one thing for long is when we can go outside but a bit cold windy and mushy for that today. Since Prag lives several hundred miles north of me I imagine outside play is even less a posibility for him.

"Nah, you're just being your usual asinine self. I'm quite well-read, thanks."

Well, put down the standard pap and pick up something RECENT to see what you won't see in the Times, Newsweek or on MSNBC. The unions and Occutards ARE committing violence all over the U.S. and you just wanna mumble the same ol' "isolated incident BS." It doesn't concern you that the president called out the fuckin' Coast Guard in Washington?
THIS isn't "violence" according to you"

"â€Å"Two separate attempts to stop the train were suppressed by riot police, who arrested 19 protestors in the process. The next morning several hundred workers and supporters entered the port’s terminal grounds and dumped grain from the train cars.â€"

You DO count the stabbings and beatings in many places as violence...right?

"I am a member and leader in ONE union: the NEA."

I'm familiar with them...one of the worst, and with the largest lobby. Here some of your members in action.

www.youtube.com

"Maybe if you actually read what I wrote, you'd know that."

I have and I did...I know you think there is "merit" in a course on the Occutard movement. You tend to defend them at every turn although public opinion has turned against them (READ about it.) You also said they get a bad rap when quite the opposite is the truth. You're in good company though, even Princees Nancy luvs 'em.

Very interesting and somewhat related to what I have said...I saw the news about six o'clock this morning (yes, on FOX) that there was a "Friday night dump" from the administration yesterday of loads of documents showing evidence of about twelve more Solyndra-type fiascos coming that are gonna cost taxpayers another six billion dollars or so. One of them is closely associated with Reid in Nevada. The reason for the Friday night dump is that it escapes a lot of the news reporting...LOL. I doubt if you'll see this on MSNBC or CNN or read about it in the NYT...but, you don't care and you ain't gonna check it out...right? :-)

You're a good guy...just ill informed when it comes to real politics. I guess you"ll ignore this all due to just coming from my "assinine" self though. But, DO look up the Friday night dump info from yesterday even though I don't wanna disillusion you regarding this wonderful administration.

16--Now, see, that was funny. Ass should take a page from your book, and from Jest's. He knows how to rile me, and he even often uses on-topic shenanigans to get there. But yes, the lad and I played several short games of a silly board game he likes (it involves dinosaurs, if you can imagine).
+++++

"Well, put down the standard pap and pick up something RECENT to see what you won't see in the Times, Newsweek or on MSNBC. "

We've been down this road before, too. I read none of those, or very rarely. So you assume, again, and wrongly.

" The unions and Occutards ARE committing violence all over the U.S. and you just wanna mumble the same ol' "isolated incident BS.""

Nope--I assert that about education; I've never taken on your union violence arguments in a serious way. This is why I end up thinking you don't really read what I write.

The fiascos of which you speak are of interest, but this is the thing about me and reading: I make choices. I don't have time to read every single link on Drudge, so I pick and choose. You seem to think I am under an obligation to read 'em all. You see, I don't. And I try to speak out substantively only on issues on which I have done due research. You might ask some of the other rwers here about that; they seem to get it (Tedly comes to mind, and Eberly).

All the stuff about violence--yes, violence is violence. Upthread, I questioned your inclusion of a specific quote in which someone said "Get the fuck outta here." If that is violence, then you are guilty of violence often, as you shout people down here with great frequency.

As for violence in any protest, it should be investigated and perpetrators should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. No problem with that.

I see nothing about the NEA in your proffered link. There's no context; is this a teachers' rally? I see something about the RI statehouse in the comments. Two things: The first guy, escorted out by cops, was way over the top. Not violent; shouting. But over the top. He deserved to be removed. Good job, cops. That could have escalated. And the next guy was poorly behaved too, but tell me, if someone shoved a camera in your face and kept asking you annoying questions, what would you do? I'm not defending the guy, but think about it.

But yes, NEA has a big lobby. Good. We need it. If you take away the power and influence of the feds in education, I bet we wouldn't spend so much time in Washington.

I don't believe I have ever defended Occupy here. As with my alleged defense of the unions (in toto), you appear to be confusing me with someone else. And you seem to forget all the context I offered in the argument over the course, and that I included study of the Tea Party in my thoughts. Selective, thy name is Jestgettingalong.

Btw, can't stand Nancy Pelosi. I assume that's who "Princess Nancy" is.

Gotta go read the article in the thread now.

Read the article. I thought it would be more substantive. I'm curious about this right to work bill. If it limits collective bargaining on a national level, then anyone who has before stated that such things should be state by state but does not decry this bill is a hypocrite.

So somebody shouted for someone to be tarred and feathered? That's the union violence this headline is talking about? Hm. Agreed, pretty awful if serious. But Jest's other links, describing actual incidents of actual violence, make the argument a whole lot better. This? People talk in extremes all the time. If this were a serious threat, the police should take action. As is, sounds like rhetoric, you know, like the stuff about targeting districts and taking down opponents blah blah blah. I can see where one can get to the argument based on such incidents as Jest proposes, but the article as written is just extremist silliness. The headline should "Union protestors on Senate floor use extreme rhetoric."

All right, back to your regularly scheduled ranting.

Easy there, Glassy...I'm a devout member of the Sevier County Tea Party...part of the Tea Party Patriots.

That's the group that requires its members to have double digit IQs, no?

"That's the group that requires its members to have double digit IQs, no?"

At least...and you can be sure every member knows the answer to questions like, "Which two countries border the United States?" and "Who is the Vice President of the United States," which you're NOT required to know in order to join OWS and be able shit on the sidewalk. Which Occutard group do YOU belong to?

At least...and you can be sure every member knows the answer to questions like, "Which two countries border the United States?" and "Who is the Vice President of the United States,"

Wow. Basic geography and current events knowledge sure impresses me.

You must have just come in under the wire at and IQ of 99.

Which Occutard group do YOU belong to?

I'm part of the occupy JPW's house group.

Now those are some smart fuckers.

Ohhh...five minutes to kickoff...no time to get Prag riled before I go. Sorry, Prag...another time. :-) Maybe you can research yesterday's "Friday night dump" of documents before we meet again. Ya' gotta love these guys (and gals) in this fuckin' administration.

"Wow. Basic geography and current events knowledge sure impresses me."

Then you'd be sorely disapponted in the Occutards. Bye now...

Somebody ought to shoot superglue into the keyholes of every lock the Union has. Both buildings and vehicles.

"Somebody ought to shoot superglue into the keyholes of every lock the Union has. "

Hint: the headline is a lie.

LOL!

Sara's PAC put a 'gunsight' on the congress woman on her PAC web page.

When a public leader of a political action group chooses words of violence and violent images intended to incite and divide, in order to direct public behavior, she should expect to be criticized when one of the group whom she has 'targeted' with 'gun sights' is gunned down in the street like a dog.

It is appropriate that the author of the violent images will be criticized.

Try again, douchebag. I wasn't criticizing either of his stances, just pointing out that he's held multiple stances on the subject depending on which party's doing it.
