Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Friday, January 13, 2012

Former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin has called for Gov. Mitt Romney to release his tax returns, as well as the data that could substantiate his claim of having created 100,000 jobs as CEO of Bain Capital.

Romney has resisted releasing his tax returns, and his campaign has thus far refused to provide the hard proof to back up his claims about Bain.

"Governor Romney has claimed to have created 100,000 jobs at Bain, and people are wanting to know: is there proof?" Palin told Sean Hannity on Fox News.

Rick Tyler, former Gingrich aide and head of Newt Gingrich's Super PAC, has already accused Romney of having created those 100,000 jobs in Asia and Mexico.

"Earlier this week, Big Government pointed out that Romney's claim to have created 100,000 jobs contrasts with claims he made during his 1994 U.S. Senate campaign, when he claimed to have created 10,000 jobs at Bain."
biggovernment.com

You caught that, right, Mr. Axelrod?

See "How Did Romney's '10,000' Jobs Become '100,000'?" at biggovernment.com for details on his 1994 claim to have created 1/10th as many jobs as he's claiming today.

Interesting info on what Romney's tax returns - and he will have to release them, after proving (yet again - don't these hubristic clowns ever learn?) that it's far better to get it out now than let it dribble out later (waiting for the snarkiness on that one) - set forth in Elizabeth MacDonald's "Romney's Big Controversy: Where's the Tax Return?" at www.foxbusiness.com

It was being opined by Republicans on the radio yesterday that when Willard releases his taxes it will show, um, that he hasn't had to pay any.

If Sarah Palin hates Willard as badly as she apparently does, then what hope has this man as a candidate?

Or does any Republican want to tell me what a RINO Sarah has become?

He'd be wise to take the hit now, then.

Unless he and his handlers calculate that the hit would be so big it would reverberate from whenever they released the returns all the way to November.

If he was really smart - and those returns didn't make him look like a member of the plutocracy (small chance) - he'd keep them under wraps and wait, wait, wait, until he could wave them in the air and say, "See, no 'there' there!"

But I suspect, contrary to that scenario, there's a lot of 'there' there.

"Rick Tyler, former Gingrich aide and head of Newt Gingrich’s Super PAC, has already accused Romney of having created those 100,000 jobs in Asia and Mexico".

I'm thinking Palin has come to agree with Erik Erikson----That Willard is going to burn next November, and that she, Erikson, and all Republicans will burn by extension.

If Sarah Palin hates Willard as badly as she apparently does, then what hope has this man as a candidate?

So suddenly she's the voice of the party or did you lefties forget how stupid you said she was? What a joke.

I was never one of those who defended her, It was people like you. So, have you folks decided she is a joke as well?

Damn, I'd guess you'd have to.

What's interesting aboout this story is that Palin obviously believes that it is SAFE politically to go after Willard, as one Republican to another.

Roll that idea around for awhile and tell me if it doesn't give you pause.

The joke is that you're gonna hold your nose and vote for Romney.

No, teh joke is that if Willard is elected millions will be making fun of his alleged "body language" as he is taking the Oath, ala Limbaugh, and that many of those millions will be Republicans.

Palin sounds like most of the DR posters here, "Oh yeah?! WHERE"S THE LINK?!?!?!"

I especially love it when a new comentator starts out with, "Well what I had heard....."

Notice that about the commentators of the MSM all the time---NBC, CBS, etc.

Unlike you, I don't give a damn what she says. I just find it funny how you suddenly think her opinion has any value when it suits your position.

The joke is that you're gonna hold your nose and vote for Romney.

The joke is that you think you know what I'll do.

The bigger joke is the Republicans disobeying Reagan's 11th Commandment.

Damn, the next several days are gonna be entertaining.

I'll bet you are entertained watching snowflakes fall too, Mr. Life-in-the-fast-lane.

Don't know what you're talking about. 78* here today.

Don't forget your Mittens.

Sure. And I just think it's funny that Sarah represents the Tea Party. Now, either she does or she does not.

If shes does, then I think I agree with RCADE'S opinion of a few days ago: The GOP's goose is cooked.

Interesting info on what Romney's tax returns -

I don't know why he even brought up the fact that he was not planning on releasing them, unless he has assets hidden overseas. That is the rumor that has been circulating. I don't buy it.

I just think he wants to keep his "Regular Joe" lie perpetuated.

RCade: Any chance you'll create a "D-D-D-DUH" flag?

There's another possibility, one I haven't seen discussed elsewhere: Has Willard been tithing to his church? And has he paid the full amount expected by the LDS or something less than that?

RCade: any chance you'll create a "Sudedenly Sarah matters" flag?

-I just think he wants to keep his "Regular Joe" lie perpetuated.

It's pretty much a given he is the by far the most wealthy candidate, isn't he?

I don't think it's so much a "regular Joe" persona he's protecting but rather the jaw dropping amazement he's afraid of.

Huge income
some of it from dubious sources
low taxes paid

-Has Willard been tithing to his church? And has he paid the full amount expected by the LDS or something less than that?

maybe. I'll admit I hadn't thought of that...is that a big deal in the LDS church?

When Willard finally caves - and he will or Axelrod, et. al. will bore him a new blowhole - it'll be interesting to see how long it takes media-hired experts to wade through his tax returns. They're bound to be complex as all hell.

On whether or not Palin "matters"..

Of course she "matters." She's a Teabaggers' darlin'. That counts, at least about Teabaggers.

Anyone who doesn't think it's significant that she's slipped the shiv into Willard coming into the SC primary is: (A) a political neophyte; (B) stupid; (C) wearing blinkers; (D) engaging in wishful thinking; or (E) any/all of the foregoing statements.

Just because she's someone with whom I disagree on - as far as I can tell - damn near everything (or everything), doesn't mean she doesn't "matter."

......I doubt Mitt will ever release his income tax info.......
.
....some Mormon's get tax breaks ( exemptions ? ) on account of their positions in that church, and Mitt was a Bishop at one time..........
.
......I am curious whether he ever took advantage of that tax dodge, and what it would do to his campaign if he released it.......

And Willard proves he's the gift that just keeps on giving:

"Mitt Romney no stranger to tax breaks, subsidies:
Bain Capital profited from a steel company that got them, and he used them to attract business when he governed Massachusetts"
www.latimes.com

"......I doubt Mitt will ever release his income tax info......"

Perhaps, although I don't see how he's going to be able to withstand the pressure to do so. Because it's just going to increase.

So far, the Dems haven't opened up on him; this is coming from journalists (the basic query) and people in his own party (the basic query with the shiv follow-up)..

as Willard been tithing to his church? And has he paid the full amount expected by the LDS or something less than that?

Good point.

Yep, but not in his being an unemployed, living in his son's house, fearful of getting a pink slip, worked his way up from the bottom world he has created to try to fool the voters.

Oh, goody! Doc FINALLY has another Palin thread where he can find some relief...Not enough OWS news to keep him enthralled, I guess.

She's the new Elvira! Bring out the cleavage!

"She's the new Elvira! Bring out the cleavage!"

What!? You have a thing for her too? Ol' Doc gets all worked up over her and doubles up on his Viagra every time he sees a picture or hears her name.

"It takes 2 pills to fix whiskey dick....."

Actually, I think he only takes it to keep from peeing on his shoes.

#36 Sure. Why not?

"How Did Romney's '10,000' Jobs Become '100,000'?"

Well, 90,000 of them are dead non-Mormons he converted, so they're working for the real mormons in Heaven. Or on Pluto. Whatever it is he believes.

As for the importance of SARAH!!!, it was the righties here who swore on a Bible in 2008 she was qualified to be President. One would think that would have some weight when she speaks. A Gravitass, so to speak.

I can't believe you're this big of a moron.

Or would it not be significant to you if Joe Biden all of a sudden publicly blasted Obama? Since you don't like Biden, you shouldn't find it newsworth if that happened, right?

I'm sure someone has said this, but... Go for it, Gov. Palin (Ret.). Undermine the front-runner, the guy who appears to have a chance to beat the president you want gone. Really, Governor, of those still in the race, whom do you want to make king? Santorum would appear to be the one closest to the rhetoric you've been espousing for the last few years. And do you really think that guy can win against the incumbent president?

Who else? Oh, right, there's Perry. He's someone who would be close to your heart. If he hadn't proved to be so bad on the campaign trail, I'd say he could have had a chance.

Gingrich? Not a real conservative, by your lights. Certainly an establishment guy.

Huntsman? Well, also probably not a conservative by your lights.

Paul? Should actually be your guy, at least as far as Tea Party politics go. Maybe that's it. Maybe Gov. Palin (Ret.) will come out for Ron Paul. That could make things interesting.

Or maybe she really wants Obama to keep the WH. Maybe she's in cahoots with the DNC. Her entire time on the national stage has been a sham. She's a secret socialist!

And the pressure on Romney to knock it off and cough up those tax returns grew during last night's GOP "debate." During which the GOP's stand-in for Eddie Haskell smarmed, "'If that [releasing tax returns] has been the tradition, I'm not opposed to doing that.' But, he added, 'Time will tell.' He also said, 'I'll keep that open.' Then he said he 'probably' would do it only if he became the nominee" (www.nytimes.com). Like I said, Eddie Haskell.
