Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Thursday, January 12, 2012

At a White House forum Wednesday on "Insourcing American Jobs," President Barack Obama vowed to bring jobs home from overseas and promised tax proposals to reward companies that invest in the U.S. "In the next few weeks, I will put forward new tax proposals that reward companies that choose to bring jobs home and invest in America and we're going to eliminate tax breaks for companies that are moving jobs overseas," Obama told business leaders and state and local officials.

OMG! I can hardly wait to see the Republicans in Congress fight him tooth and nail to prevent jobs from coming back to America.

I think this is good. I do wonder if he is going to ask Immelt to lead by example as GE has just been on a binge of outsourcing of jobs to china. It would be a strong statement if the people on his various boards made sure to take the first step away from outsourcing and toward in-sourcing.

Unfortunately I feel this will be much like the "buffet rule" in that those that fought for the ability to give more than was required have thus far mostly failed to do that which they advocated so strongly for.

OMG! I can hardly wait to see the Republicans in Congress fight him tooth and nail to prevent jobs from coming back to America.

Sadly, that is exactly what is going to happen.

Simply because he proposed it and because the GOP are doing everything they can to prevent the economy from recovering so they can blame it on Obama.

Because their mouth-breathing masses are too stupid to think for themselves and because FOX tells them so they will most likely believe it too.

Obama should just come out tomorrow in a nationally televised press conference and say he is NOT in favor of people putting plastic bags over their heads in order to test if CO2 is harmful.

Within minutes half of Congress and most of the trolls on this board would be turning blue.

^__^

Be Well.

The White House declined to give specifics about the new ideas

I wonder if there are any.

which jobs? where? how?

great soundbite and a wonderful promise but Obama has learned that there is no promise he can't make that his ball polishers won't gobble up and then produce nothing and the ball polishers won't hold him accountable for it.

Nothing.

Nothing.

This is a great example.

If he was serious about this then why would he support free trade like he has already?

Don't get me wrong....if there is indeed a plan for this and it has any chance of becoming reality....I'm very interested.

-Because their mouth-breathing masses are too stupid to think for themselves.....

probably needs to quit looking in the mirror.

Another Obama vow? What would be news is if he ever kept one.

"Obama promotes 'insourcing'"

Luv them "buzz" words. Luvem, luvem luvem. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, eh Danni?

They don't have to. He gave another fucking useless campaign speech; nothing more.

This is a good thing...I seriously doubt you'll hear anything out of Republicans except "why wait until now?" and the only ones who will be able to ask that will be people who weren't in a position to affect US policy up to this point.

Of course, the real answer to "why now?" is "because I'm up for reelection". Anyone here with kids besides me? Anyone watch Phineas and Ferb? There's a bully character named Buford, who, during a christmas special, said he had a fool-proof plan: be mean and nasty all year and then perform one selfless act just prior to Christmas to get moved from the naughty list to the nice list. This is Obama trying to get moved off of independents naughty list.

"Luv them "buzz" words. Luvem, luvem luvem. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, eh Danni?"

Considering Obama's future will be directly effected by the economy and jobs I think it is more than just "buzz" words KBM. Now in the other party they talk about prosperity and recovery but we know that they are just kidding, they engineered this economy, they aren't ever going to try and bring jobs home because their corporations make too much money from outsourcing. One party represents labor (sometimes) and one represents corporations, I'll let you figure out which is which.

an election-year effort - LOL

The White House declined to give specifics - LOL

In related news, Obama vowed to do better with his NCAA Bracket picks this year.

"White House "In-Sourcing" Photo Op Becomes Romney Bashfest"

"I thought it was illegal to hold campaign events in the White House? Oh well, never mind, the current occupant of the White House has such disregard for the law, nobody even notices.

A White House official says President Obama’s speech Wednesday proposing tax breaks to businesses that keep jobs in the United States has been in the works for weeks.

But politically, the timing couldn’t have been better.

Just as Democrats and Republican opponents to Mitt Romney heighten their lines of attack against Tuesday’s big New Hampshire primary winner as a onetime “vulture capitalist” who destroyed many more jobs than he created while growing wealthy at Bain Capital, the president subtly weighed in.

"Flanking himself with more than a dozen business executives, he pledged to unveil tax incentives for companies to bring back jobs to the United States and create more products in America"

He made no mention of Romney directly, but let his stooges do it for him."

"A week ago nobody could even tell you what Bain Capital was. Now it’s the focus of White House events. Just a coincidence, I’m sure. Give it a little time and the name Bain will be on par with names like Hitler and bin Laden."

"This campaign event was so hastily convened, apparently, it wound up rather sparsely attended.

Check out poor lonely Joe Biden, with a whole row to himself."

www.jammiewf.com

Really, who falls for this shit.

Check out poor lonely Joe Biden, with a whole row to himself.

Is that a glass of beer next to Joe?

Really, who falls for this shit.

The "everything Obama does all the time is wrong" narrative sold by the corprately-funded RW echo chamber?

You do.

Every. Single. Time.

Obama wants to bring jobs back to America?

"This is bad news... for Obama!"

Seriously, you're adorable with that shit.

Now go find a nice Heritage.org article to fap to.

Be Well.

"He made no mention of Romney directly, but let his stooges do it for him."

His stooge......Newt Gingrich....tooooooo funnneeeeeee!!!!!

No one wants to address the issue of Immelt outsourcing GE jobs while Obama is calling for "in-sourcing"? Interesting. The people right next to him are being a negative example for the charge is is pretending to lead.

Doesn't that tell you something?

"No one wants to address the issue of Immelt outsourcing GE jobs while Obama is calling for "in-sourcing"?"

As I recall GE outsourced the manufacture of medical devices which are intended to be sold in the Chinese market, you might do some research and learn that exporting from the US into China is difficult to impossible because they PROTECT their markets. If you want to end this great! GEt out of WTO and end most favorable nation status for China.

My question is, why the fuck didn't he do this earlier?

Oh wait, it is an election year, never mind.

Yes the libsheep will hail this as some wonderful plan.

Danni,

Maybe you need to do a little more research.

"Mitt Romney is running on his record of creating jobs as both the Governor of Massachuetes and as an executive at Bain Capital. But a 2002 article from the Boston Business Journal reveals that his former company Bain Capital was outsourcing jobs to India and China at the same time Romney was Governor.

Bain Capital that year retained an IT company E-5, in which it was also an investor, which reportedly outsourced most of it's work to India and China. The company was to handle jobs that Bain would previously done in-house."

Interesting... I didn't know that Mitt Romney was promoting "insourcing" as Barrack Obama.

Now what about Obama's direct council members not exemplifying his call to "in-sourcing"?

Shouldn't he start with those in his group, before calling others to do it?

Better find yourself a better Bain source, Danni. Unless you can't handle the truth...

"The White House declined to give specifics "

But as soon as we re-elect him he'll get right on it, I'm sure.

I'm sure the left appreciates him not giving specifics. Look what it got him when he specified he'd close Gitmo and post bills 48 hours prior to signing them.

You have to vote for him to find out what his plan is- Pelosi

"Fool me once, and I'll blame it on the Republicans. Fool me twice, and, well.. you can keep fooling me and I'll blame it on the other party and vote for you indefinitely."

-Danni

If we pretend Obama hasn't created any jobs, hasn't gotten tax cuts passed for working folks, hasn't extended unemployment, hasn't passed the biggest reform in healthcare in fifty years, hasn't done so many things then maybe we can fool America again and get Mitt Romney elected. Of course though first we'll have to get those other Republicans to stop telling America about the business practices of Bain Capital.

The GOP

He is going to give a speech tomorrow about how the Republicans in Congress are preventing him from giving specifics about this proposal... and how they are preventing Immelt from stopping GE's massive amount of outsourcing.

#30 | Posted by danni at 2012-01-12 12:15 PM | Reply | Flag:

Danni, did you read up on GE's outsourcing... and it's growth under Immelt?

Hilarious that you avoid that.

"Hilarious that you avoid that."

Not avoiding it but only hoping we do something about it besides just using it for partisan attacks on Obama. At least Obama is FINALLY talking about the outsourcing problem, when he was first elected he was fully in the "free trade" camp which I have always disagreed with him about. I see this move to be just a small step in the right direction, hopefully if he is reelected it will be the first of many.

this is nothing but political bullshit from obama, and it will do its job though.

Send in a worthless appearance of a bill to congress and it is pushed back so all the likes of danni's and corkys can say, see, obama tried.....lol

HEY BARRY

why dont you look to your right or left next time you have a meeting with the fucks you appointed on your jobs council...like the GE prick and a couple of others.

THEY do something about the jobs THEY OUTSCOURED and then we can talk...

"Send in a worthless appearance of a bill to congress and it is pushed back so all the likes of danni's and corkys can say, see, obama tried.....lol"

Hey, the ball is in your court, Republicans in the House could propose and pass a bill to take away tax deductions for companies that outsource jobs and they could create tax breaks for companies that create jobs here in the US. Go for it, pass it and Obama will happily sign it unless, of course, you have to attach other unrelated things onto the bill which is what will happen. I hear Boehner now has an infrastructure bill but it includes the exceptions to normal safety studies as part of that bill. That is not acceptable to Democrats and it shouldn't be acceptable to Republicans. This evolution of politics from real ideas to team sport forces Republicans usually but sometimes Democrats too to defend ideas they don't even believe in. John Boehner himself cared about ecology only a few years ago but now the team sport atmosphere forces him to be less of a leader than he is actually capable of being.

Dear Mr. President:

Three years too late, and too much "free trade" (Translation: "Free Pass to Offshore Jobs") support has come from your Administration.

Nice try.

P.S.: Before any lefties jump my shit, I'm a Dem and a lib. This is justified criticism, because this is part of the "hope and change" people wanted in '08, and shouldn't have had to wait for once Obama was elected. Just proposing this would have started sending a message. But nooooooooo.

Where the fuck was he 3 years ago? Wait, it election season.

Country is too adddicted to cheap crap to do any good..

We need a generational plan, everything else is nothing but fluff. Course that's not what the media driven political environment we live in today is all about..

More groveling to get re-elected. Hey Bozo Obama why not make it easier to do business in this country? Jobs are not coming back until it is easier to do business here and the taxes are lower, right now we are either 1 or 2 for the highest taxes in the world. The truth always hurts.

Country is too adddicted to cheap crap to do any good.

Or maybe Americans are so impoverished from supporting government waste that all they can afford is cheap crap.

Starve the beast Ray..

"Country is too adddicted to cheap crap to do any good.."

Why do you think they lowered the value of your house????
Cuz if it was worth a fraction of what it was you'd have more money to buy cheap crap with and they sell cheap crap. We were beginning to hold too much wealth in our homes, the bankers couldn't allow that much wealth to stay where it was; in our homes. So they had to take that wealth by destroying the value of our homes by just refusing to grant mortgages. When buyers couldn't get mortgages then sellers dropped their prices lower and lower and lower. Prices are still dropping and will not rise again until people can get mortgages to buy.

"Or maybe Americans are so impoverished from supporting government waste that all they can afford is cheap crap."

Americans today are far richer than they ever could have been had we not had a big government that could do big government things....like build railroads or interstate highways.....like win wars to keep the world safe....like do the basic research which doesn't give a quick profit so that drug manufacturers could use that research and develope important drugs that let us live a long life...it is lunacy to think a "small government" would be good for this country. We need to tax heavily enough to fund a good government and to encentivize investment into job creation, it isn't an accident that most of our debt dates back to the Reagan administration, previous to that we ran up little debt but we had much higher taxes.

Yeah Danni. Sure. All I see is a government that fucks up everything it touches. You keep dreaming that dream.

We can't compete with China wages of 10 cents per hour... Why do you think the jobs left here...cheap wages! They're not coming back...

Here's a gift for you Danni. The debt clock.
$46,663 + $50,957 per person and still rising.
Population: 312,842,732
Food Stamps: 46,930,572
Unfunded SS, Medicare liability per taxpayer: 1,038,048
www.usdebtclock.org

"Why do you think the jobs left here...cheap wages!"

Cheap wages AND trade policies that made it light-years beyond easy to take advantage of them.

I remind you that Chinese peasants have toiled for next to nothing during the entire history of the United States. Only in recent years has shit-eating stupid trade policy turned that into a problem.

Did you see that walmart is ending health care benefits for there part time workers. "please look it up" it was on the news. Many small businesses don't even offer employees benefits today. Sure they don't have too! Its just part of the changing times,of the world's economy.

What this loving, caring all-inclusive leftie would like to see for China is for it to have a self-contained economy meeting all its citizens' needs. The banker would buy his car from the auto worker, the auto worker would buy his groceries from the farmer, the farmer would buy his clothes from the garment worker, and the garment worker would deposit his money with the banker.

Actually, the last 5 year plan (and probably the future ones) has that as their main goal along with developing a national health plan. Their goal is to increase consumerism internally and not to rely on exports as much.

I might add that manufacturing is coming back to this country slowly and will accelerate in the future when our currency gets crushed. Unfortunately, one of the reasons is our stagnant wages.

I hope that this works better than his other "jobs" programs.

Danni,
This is not the first time the housing market has crashed. It happened in the 80's, real bad especially up th east coast, and guess what it will happen again. I didn't help that a bunch of idiots used their houses for a piggybank to go on fancy trips and buy expensive trinkets. Values will go back up it just takes time and people that can make their mortgage payments. In other words something liberals do not understand, financial responsibility.

"Actually, the last 5 year plan (and probably the future ones) has that as their main goal along with developing a national health plan."

I've been admiring their Five-Year Plan for the last thirty years.

Truthteller,
You are right as long as we continue to tax business at one of the two highest rates in the world. Now if we lowered taxes on businesses then the advantage of going overseas is lowered. Better yet profits that are generated from goods produced in this country might be taxed at a much lower rate. it really is common sense, something that the liberal left wing democrats that have over the party do not understand. It is sad I used to be able to identify with the democrats but the radical idiots have destroyed the party.

Matsop is Vernon?!

Dethspud,

There are a handful of huge corporations, read GE and Jeff Immelt one of Obama's financial advisors, that pay zero taxes. Problem is they are bound by law to take advantage of all the tax benefits otherwise they can end up being the object of a shareholder lawsuit.

Most corporations pay some big money in taxes, others go overseas to shelter their profits. Of course the Obama lamestream media only points out the ones that pay nothing. The other side of the picture is, guess what corporations most working people have their 401k's invested in. The highly profitable ones, GE, Exxon, etc, or mutual funds that hold these stocks. Like it or not that is fact.

Like the Pogo comic strip from years ago "we have met the enemy and it is us". Think about it.

"There are a handful of huge corporations, read GE and Jeff Immelt one of Obama's financial advisors, that pay zero taxes."

One wing of GE made $14 billion in profits, and another --their financial sector-- lost a bundle. And --just like you can do-- that one owner can combine the gain and the loss.

Corporations are people, my friend.

Like the Pogo comic strip from years ago "we have met the enemy and he is us"

Huge corporations some of them not even American own your government.

Both sides.

Have for a while.

The MIC are particularly well entrenched.

Yes, huge multinationals can and do use the fact they are located around the world to dodge paying taxes in the US and they have for years.

The revolving door between politician and lobbyist and pundit swings faster every year it seems and the rules just seem to shift in favor of the haves at the expense of the have-nots to the point where half of Americans are poor.

That statistic should shock the vast majority of people into realizing that the level of wealth inequity that exists right now in the US is dangerously unhealthy.

Instead what do you get?

A cage-full of angry parrots squawking "No class war!", "Protect the Job Creators", "America can't afford healthcare for it's citizens".

And so on and so forth.

And Spud yelling back at 'em most days.

Not just Spud, of course.

Anyhoo just wanted to say that Walt Kelly rawked.

See how much outsourcing GE is really doing. Pay attention when Immelt talks about the fact that almost half of their 300,000 employees are overseas and the fact that this exchange takes place:

"GE has become so global that more than half of its 300,000 workers are now overseas. We spoke to him on the floor of GE's jet engine servicing plant in Petropolis.

Stahl: How much of your revenues, now, come from overseas?

Immelt: Sixty percent.

Stahl: Sixty percent of GE's revenue is foreign.

Immelt: When I became CEO it was 30. Now, I wish all our customers were in Chicago. I mean everything about the U.S. is easier than doing business here, but this is where the growth is.

Stahl: You know, it's like a bucket of ice on your head. I don't think we have caught up to the reality of how much the world is consuming and-- and how we're slippin' back.

Immelt: You know, I-- I don't think it has to be all bad news. I still think there's lots of things we can do in the U.S., but the customers are here. And, and that's just the way it is. "

That's just the way it is? Looks like Obama has to get on Immelt to do some "insourcing" before he asks anyone else to do it.

As I recall GE outsourced the manufacture of medical devices which are intended to be sold in the Chinese market, you might do some research and learn that exporting from the US into China is difficult to impossible because they PROTECT their markets.

Building a manufacturing operation in the country in which you intend to sell the products that are manufactured there isn't outsourcing.

The Chinese are right to protect their markets from (to many) imported goods. The US should do the same.

Although this may be true, GE is quite guilty of much, other "outsourcing".

OMG, I can hardly believe that you swallow this. Obama promised this same thing when he ran 3 years ago. Why hasn't he already done that? Why didn't he do it when Dems had both houses? You know the answer but are either afraid or too biased to say.

Obama is a lying SOS politician. Simple.

While HE ships the building of the chev volt to china. What a two faced guy. Everytime he opens his mouth another lie comes out. FU DHS

Nice try Danni, but it's just going to turn out to be yet another failure for Obama.

Danni, name one thing that Obama has proposed that is actually good for America!

ONE THING!!!

Where do you get this idea that Republicans don't want jobs to come back to America? The issue is in which the White House goes about doing so that might upset conservatives, not THAT it gets done. Republicans want to help people and the economy just as much as anyone else. But there have been several new programs and committees created that they think are bad for the economy while liberals claim these things will help. Its the spending, specifically of the government that is the problem with our economy. Legislation needs to be changed or dropped, the American people should be doing the spending, not the White House.

You also mention that Fox News comment which I find interesting. Democrats have control of both the Senate and the White House. Does it not seem probable to you that they might also have control of the media and thus, mostly positive things get out about dems while only negative things are mentioned with reps?

If the cost of doing business is lower in the USA then the plan will work -- if not, it won't. Simple math -- has nothing to do with Obama, GOP, etc.

I'm curious what those tax breaks could be, after all the demonizing of corporate America -- who would these breaks go to? Isn't this the corporate welfare to the fat cats BS the drudge left has been whining about?

And what about Obamacare? Will the companies have to pay the fine or offer coverage? That tax break is going to have to be quite sizeable to overcome all the other goodies the progressives have been preparing.

Where the fuck was he 3 years ago? Wait, it election season.

Danni was most recently, formerly opposed to the repatriation of capitol.

Now it's suddenly brilliant that Obama seems to think so.

Danni is sort of like a wind sock in this regard, she blows whatever way is giving her wind.

Where do you get this idea that Republicans don't want jobs to come back to America? The issue is in which the White House goes about doing so that might upset conservatives, not THAT it gets done.

You sound very sincere in your beliefs; as naive as Obama was in thinking that he could work with Republicans. Very early in Obama's administration, Mitch McConnel announced that his top priority was to limit Obama to one term; not fixing the economy, creating jobs, etc. One of the most effective ways of limiting Obama to one term is to sabotage his efforts to fix anything which would have exposed him to be weak and ineffective. I believe that Republicans are content will a weak economy during Obama's term with the hope that they can ride to the rescue when a republican replaced him in 2012.

Republicans want to help people and the economy just as much as anyone else. But there have been several new programs and committees created that they think are bad for the economy while liberals claim these things will help.

The people that Republicans really want to help during an Obama administration are the 1%. If the rest of us benefit, it is an unintended consequence (aka trickle down economics). These new progams and committees are changes from the status quo. If the status quo was so good, why did we find ourselves is such an economic mess? Why not try something different?

Its the spending, specifically of the government that is the problem with our economy.

Spending is certainly an issue but I don't believe it to be the problem with the economy. The problem is the economic vitality of the middle class (especially) is evaporating. Most people just don't have as much money to spend. And since 70% of our economy is consumer driven, consumers with less money to spend will have a depressing effect on the economy. Getting people back to work with well paying jobs will improve the economy.

Spending has become an issue because the government is seeking to maintain the same (or better) services on a smaller revenue base. This will, of course, lead to higher and higher deficits. The remedy is to reduce services and/or increase revenue. Republicans reflexively want to reduce services; Obama wants a balanced approach. Which shall it be?

I'm curious what those tax breaks could be, after all the demonizing of corporate America

#108 | Posted by FrankA

There won't be any tax breaks, but there will be heavy taxes for those corps who employ overseas or use staffing/consulting firms overseas.

Will the Republicans oppose this? yes.

Will the Left understand how damaging this proposal is? No. Example? OWS.

I am very aware that GE Cap lost a bunch, but what I understand from the financial reports is the net was billions in profit and they paid no taxes. To rub salt in the wound Immelt, one of the administrations financial advisors, has GE spending billions in China. Wonder if they are going to hire americans and send them over there to work?NOT!!!!!!!!!!

"I am very aware that GE Cap lost a bunch, but what I understand from the financial reports is the net was billions in profit "

You understand wrong.

Fedup,

In case you didn't notice Obama had total control in congress, if every republican voted against his programs and all democrats voted for them there was not way the republicans could stop anything, they did not have enough votes until after the 2010 elections.

I have a question for you, tell me the name of one person that was hired and paid a living wage by someone that had no money. Without the 1% there are no jobs, too bad but the facts cannot be disputed. You fail to realize that millions of businesses fail each year, even those evil ocmpanies that have made billions in the past, GM, Chrysler, American Airlines, Kodak just to name a few that are on the ropes. Now how about Pan Am Airlines, Rebublic and Bethlehem Steel, Penn RR, New York Central RR, and the list goes on and on. Or how about the failures before hitting it big, Henry Ford bankrupt two times before he was successful, or Thomas Edison who started an evil company called General Electric. When he was asked how he chose tungsten for the filliment he said, "I tried everything else" in other words he failed thousands of times. For risking of capital there has to be a reward, and that is profits.

That being said I have never met a Mr or Mrs General Electric, or Mr and Mrs Exxon, these companies are all owned by the public through stock and mutual funds, read retirement. If they net 5% profit on what they sell they are very successful, or are they? Compare that to Microsoft that nets around 40%, but nobody questions them, why?

Just what I see.

Danni,

Perhaps I am missing something but on page 60 of the annual report (it aopears to be 2009) the net profit on page 60 is $11,025,000. That sure sounds like billions to me. Or is it an acoounting thing, "what do you want it to say?". lol.

#115 -- could note agree more.

I would also add that when many of the corporate behemoths that have come and gone were in business they were reviled and ridiculed about their corporate greed (robber barons going way back). When they folded and pulled up stakes, those same forces wrung their hands about the loss of jobs and what would happen to their communitites. You can't help but wonder what would have been different if the communities had supported these institutions rather than continually try and wring them dry by way of taxation. For those in Upstate NY -- sounds familiar regarding GE, GM, Kodak etc?

"Danni was most recently, formerly opposed to the repatriation of capitol."

I'm in favor of repatriation of capital, pay your taxes and repatriate the hell out of it but no special tax deals for fat cats. We tried that before under the assumption that the flow of cash would create jobs but nother could have been further from the truth.

"the repatriation of capitol"

So you're into moving large buildings back to where they came from?

-So you're into moving large buildings back to where they came from?

that might be an easier task than actually bringing jobs back.

"Without the 1% there are no jobs, too bad but the facts cannot be disputed."

We need those with capital to invest it in creating jobs in America and if they want to invest it overseas instead we need to tax the living daylights out of them just like we did in the past. You can take all your cute little talking points and shove them you know where, the rich are destroying this country with their greed.

Sorry Danni, but it's none of your business or the business of the Federal Government how much money someone makes.

For you and all the other greedy Libs, it's a Monkey/Cococut thing.

"Sorry Danni, but it's none of your business or the business of the Federal Government how much money someone makes."

Sorry Eddie but our laws say it is their business. I'm quite sure the billionaires who own this money appreciate your concern for them and I also just as sure they care equally as much about you.

Did you see that walmart is ending health care benefits for there part time workers. "please look it up" it was on the news. Many small businesses don't even offer employees benefits today. Sure they don't have too! Its just part of the changing times,of the world's economy.

#52 | Posted by truthteller101 at 2012-01-12 08:54 PM | Reply |

Health care policies offered by even the best companies in years past came with a condition called deductibles. Most of them were 500 to 1,000 per year.

Nowadays people think a 5 dollar co-pay is too much. Then throw in all the mandates govt. has forced insurance companies to cover over the years and you can start to understand why we are where we are.

We've had government health care for years, that's what's killing us.

It's sad the average person can't bring themself to wake the hell up.

Rightwingers are truly evil people.

Where is this cave? And how much is the rent/property taxes?

Oh yes, those jobs will just come flooding back to face the massive regulatory leviathan this anti business administration has set up, and let's see how truly amazing his "proposal" will be.

When? Last weekend?

Without the 1% there are no jobs

If the 1% vanished, would America come to an end? Nope. We would be disoriented for a while but because America is full of very bright and capable people, we would survive and eventually thrive. It seems as if the defenders of the 1% feel as though the 1% can't be replaced. Keep in mind that the current 1% replaced the previous 1% and the country continued to thrive. The primary difference between the previous 1% and the current 1% is that the current 1% is more effective in preserving their status because of the stranglehold that they have on our elected representatives.

Capitalism, by its very nature, creates winners and losers. However, true capitalism will see winners and losers changing seats from time to time as determined by the market. What we have in America today is rigged capitalism where capitalists seek to preserve their status by manipulating legislators.

tell me the name of one person that was hired and paid a living wage by someone that had no money

The premise of your question is wrong. By definition someone with no money can not pay a wage; much less a living wage. Most small businesses are not owned by 1%-ters and those small businesses pay living wages. Why is it that you think only 1%-ters pay wages?

Millions of people have been paid a living wage and have raised a family due to the efforts of people other than 1%-ters. Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, etc. were not 1%-ters when they started their companies yet they earned their way into the 1% by their cleverness, work ethic, business acumen and the support of other non 1%-ters (i.e. their workers). They were entrepreneurs and deserve every dime they earned. Being in the 1% is not a prerequisite for being an entrepreneur; it is probably a hindrance.
You fail to realize that millions of businesses fail each year
No I don't. It's a lot but probably not in the millions.

For risking of capital there has to be a reward, and that is profits.

I am in enthusiastic agreement with you! My problem is not with the companies seeking to maximize profit; it is with our elected representatives that allow that to happen at the expense of the American lifestyle and at huge risks to the American economy. Our elected representatives are primarily responsible for the mess we find ourselves in and to a much lesser extent those 1%-ters that seek an advantage that they could not earn in the market place.

Democrats have control of both the Senate and the White House. Does it not seem probable to you that they might also have control of the media and thus, mostly positive things get out about dems while only negative things are mentioned with reps?

Does it not seem probable to you that the positive things mentioned about democrats and negative things mentioned about republicans are true?

Also, do you seriously believe that the democratic party is directing journalists to write stories with a certain slant? If so, please advance a theory as to how they do this. If you believe that the democratic party is doing this, do you believe that the republicans are doing the same? Are there democratic and/or republican "desks" in the editorial boardrooms of major news outlets?

If the 1% vanished, would America come to an end? Nope.

Statistically, it's impossible to eliminate the top 1%.

Our elected representatives are primarily responsible for the mess we find ourselves in and to a much lesser extent those 1%-ters that seek an advantage that they could not earn in the market place.

Not exactly. Lacking a sense of moral values in political affairs, voters are responsible for electing crooked politicians. A politician who runs on the platform of promising to steal for you, also steals from you. No. I think Amerika suffers from a case of mass stupidity. Nature is not kind to stupidity.

Oops! More Libbie un-American bullcrap.

The income tax and the Federal Reserve are representative of the precise reason the Revolutionary War occurred and America was born.

Transference of wealth, Danni.

Again!!! It's none of your business how much wealth I gain. It's no one's business.

Also, do you seriously believe that the democratic party is directing journalists to write stories with a certain slant?
#131 | Posted by FedUpWithPols

Actually, if you want to disect it, most viewers are like Danny. If you say something bad about someone who is succeeding -- THAT'S NEWS. If you want to talk about how a political party is going to tax (steal) wealth from the most successful -- that's news. Other "worthy" news is how a celebrity is doing poorly or behaving badly.

Anything that can help the poor losers feel normal makes good content and brings more viewers. (so does talking about "terrorists and warring against drugs)

The Left have been doing it for 100 years. Just study up on Huey Long and Louisiana political history.

The Right uses every news-getting tactic too. Terrorism, anti-drug, anti-gay, anti-this, anti-that...

The conclusion is that the solution for staying out of the news is to be boring, poor, work a loser job, and don't get caught doing anything.

Statistically, it's impossible to eliminate the top 1%.

So, you think the IRS is un-American. There are millions of Americans who agree with you.

Danni thinks that because I law passed in the middle of the night before Christmas break when America was not paying attention is just A-OK...

Again, and most American voters agree with me, that private property is just that... Private.

Any questions Danni?

I really want to hear how you're going to get out of this corner you've painted youself into.
