Tim Tebow: Angels In the Endzone

Tim Tebow: Angels In the Endzone
#2 | Posted by soulfly at 2012-01-08 11:39 PM

Was that supposed to give me an erection?

All that was missing was an animated of Burgess Meredeth as Jerry Sandusky.. Either way, before that film ends Pat Robertson will transfer his soul into that kid.

TIM 3:16 .. lol, right back in the face of the media & celebs who have been disrespecting & ridiculing Tebow ..

within moments of the victory, astute fans recognized the "subtle signs" and reacted ..
~ the reaction: new slogan t-shirts, banners, posters .. TIM 3:16
giving tribute to the Tebow's 316 passing yards
(mimicking the Biblical reference of John 3:16)

.. naturally the elites are gnashing teeth & renting of their garments..

I'm sorry but I wish he would keep his religion to himself.

"renting of their garments.."?????

"God loves Christians, hates Jews"...

Not necessarily. Just because you lose doesn't indicate hate.

For instance:

Proverbs 3:11-12:

11 My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD
Or loathe His reproof,
12 For whom the LORD loves He reproves,
Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.

Hebrews 12:5-11

"MY SON, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD,
NOR FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM;
6 FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES,
AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES."

7 It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9 Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live? 10 For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness. 11 All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

James 1:2-4

2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

(Yeah I know the headline was a joke, however there are foolish people that think that just because you endure trial the one who allowed that trial "hates" you. )

Tearing of their garments in mourning, anger, frustration, despair, etc.

"Tearing of their garments in mourning, anger, frustration, despair, etc."

That would be "rending" not "renting."

Fun to drop by and laugh at the lying, superstitious 'tards.

Yes, not being a literalistic buffoon allows one to understand what a person is talking about even if they make a mistake in their spelling.

It is called contextual understanding. Because of the context... you can understand their meaning. Try it some time.

"Fun to drop by and laugh at the lying, superstitious 'tards."

The topic is not global warming, zat.

RCADE you need a 'stupid' flag

Might have more to do with Roethlesberger being a scumbag. And injured.

I don't know what god thinks of Roethlesberger, but he clearly doesn't have a very high opinion of Ike Taylor. And the other #24 is still one of god's greatest creations. 13 seasons of quiet brilliance. Tebow gets all the attention, but shutting down one side of the field every game might have something to do winning.

Suck it "prime time". Champ is the best to ever play the game.

This site says Big Ben's not Jewish:

I really have to laugh because whether jewish or christian it is still the SAME God.

Only Christians believe that.

I wonder what how the righturds would react if Tebow had said "Allah Akbar" when he scored a touchdown?

Potentially similar to how you act when Tebow prays. Sad isn't it?

I doubt God plays favorites but if I was Him I'd have a certain fallen Jew spend eternity in Purgatory for spelling my name G-d

Not sure, but wouldn't Tebow thank God if he won or lost? What's funny is all the outrage directed at him, after all Notre dame has been celebrating touchdown Jesus for decades.

Muslim lay out a carpet, face Mecca, make a ceremony of treating the entire process as holy. Tebow and his ilk are so insincere in their insta-prayer and obviously zealotous in their actions they transform Christianity into clown worship.

Believe in god or go to hell, talk about "elitist".

"It is called contextual understanding."

No, it's called a mistake, made by someone who pretends to know what he obviously doesn't.

.. naturally the elites are gnashing teeth & renting of their garments..

Okay, L-E, how much you gonna pay me a week for my underwear? Just don't rend them, okay?

That's right... Danforth reads his incapability on others all the time. Danforth would not be able to get rending of garments from "renting of garments" in the context being discussed.

The failures of a literalistic hubris. Thanks for the illustration Dan.

That's right... Danforth reads his incapability on others all the time.

Reads?

You probably meant "projects" there and, again, you'd be wrong but no real surprise there.

Seriously, Dude, a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Try to pick up your pace a little and maybe one day you'll beat that record.

Dare to dream

Be Well.

No, reads works quite well. Not being Canadian would help. It's an expression. It also serves to point out more failures of a literalistic hubris.

"No, reads works quite well. Not being Canadian would help."

And the shit just keeps writing itself.

Seriously, is your inability to actually address the topic of the thread due to laziness, stupidity, or both?

Answer your own question.

No, reads works quite well.

Um, no it doesn't.

/Is this just the 5 minute starter argument or have you paid for the full hour?

Not being Canadian would help.

Wot a delightfully absurd and meaningless non sequitar.

Do go on.

literalistic hubris

Did you make that one up yourself?

Spud can kinda tell.

Spud likes making up new words and phrases too.

S'fun. Aint it?

Oh, you!

Be Well.

It is a regional figure of speech.

Just as one reads an individual... one can read on an individual something that is not there, but rather on the person doing the reading.

It is akin to "projecting" but it implies unnecessary and incorrect "reading into" (another figure of speech) a situation. In this case, "reads" something onto the source being "read" that is not there, and is instead descriptive of the source doing the reading.

No slight against Canada if my statement was misunderstood in that way. I don't need any steamed potatoes.

I don't need any steamed potatoes.

Buttered w/parsley?

I don't have the gambling gene, but I'm almost willing to bet a dollar(Canadian) that our Tater actually lives in Point Roberts.

Close.

Spud's about a half hour's drive from that weird ass border on the Canuckleheaded side.

Love PR, though.

Ah, weekends at The Breakers when Spud was first of drinking age.

Good times Good times.

Be Well.

You mean "read into"?

You are really bad at this, aren't you?

Be Well.

Truly is a weird ass border, Spud. One can imagine the pissing contest back whenever that was decided.

I always pictured it as the NW version of SoCal's TJ.

Seems the potato, with all his eyes, is really bad at reading the whole post. I discuss the difference and how it deals with but is different than "reading into".

Maybe take a bath to get the dirt out of your eyes.

IIRC, that one decided close to the same time the whole Alaskan panhandle thing was going on.

Man, we got screwed there.

I always pictured it as the NW version of SoCal's TJ.

It's actually fairly sedate. When Spud was younger we always used to go to company picnics on PR cos one of the company's owner's had property there. Cool thing was he kept a bunch of dirt bikes and let us kids (like 11-15 at the time) ride around on them all day.

Weird little tradition regarding PR hereabouts.

Because the drinking age is 19 in BC and 21 in neighboring Washington state there is a little tradition up here wherein you not only go out and get hosed on your 19th birthday in BC with all yer buds but when you hit 21 you go to PR and do it all over again.

Of course, by that point you had prolly already been going to the Breakers for years but you still would formally show your ID to everyone and anyone who asked.

Ah, Spud's heady, halcyon days.

*adjusts onion at belt*

Be Well.

Yeah, caught that.

Yer still wrong.

English doesn't work like that.

You can project something onto someone or something and/or you can read something into something but you still can't read something on someone.

If it's a figure of speech it's one you just made up.

Be Well.

Of course... the all knowing (but definitely not all seeing) Spud declares it... and so it must be...

I think whatever sack you shipped in, after being plucked from the ground, was a little too tight.

Right. Anyone with "berg" in their name must automatically be Jewish.

"Roethlisberger" is actually a Swiss-German name.
