Amazing isn't it? The modern liberal methodology of teaching knows no bounds in its stupidity. Instead of teaching like instruction has been done for hundreds of years, which has sent us to the moon. Today we need new ways to integrate math and social studies, there is no end to the possibilities. The only real problem, students still aren't being educated, but this is a secondary problem. The most important problem for teachers is staying interested, and this is accomplished with innovation and new techniques, the student be damned.

Talking about history and teaching our kids about history is a way to improve the future and not repeat past mistakes. Bringing in slavery and history lessions into Math is a GREAT idea.

Having three boys (youngest currently 8) I have talked to them all about American History and they know about slavery.

My feeling is that people that only RACISTS who are generaly overly sensative are the ones that will have issues with these lessions. Racists looking for a fight, I do not know but would bet $1 that Terrance Barnett is racist

The desire for racial and sexual equality is a natural extension of societal awareness. In general it's healthy and normal.

The guilt complex has be recognized and possibly even undertaken in order to approach this issue of egalitarianism seriously. That doesn't mean the destruction or repeal of rights - quite the opposite.

I don't like a major component of Black exploitation (rap music, BET, Nike, etc), but seeing the successes of Blacks inspires every "race". And rap music has gone global - from Appalachia to Zanzibar, but it's message is too often blatant hate speech. Racially we're more and more blended anyhow, what really divides and unites us is monetary inequity.
