Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

The greatest upset in last night's Iowa Caucus was not the sudden "surge" of Rick Santorum, it was the steady rise of Congressman Ron Paul who came in with less than 4,000 votes of Romney and Santorum. Santorum, like all the other candidates, spare Romney, experienced his moment in the lime-light last night, but he will crash and burn as his record is scrutinized.

Unlike his fellow contenders, Dr. Paul has steadily climbed in the polls, amidst a fierce and biased media that consistently skew his positions. It is remarkable that he continues to gain ground. It must be that his message carries substantial weight in order to survive such affronts. Why does the media fear this Constitutional candidate and how does he continue to gain momentum in spite of such enmity?

For Santorum to come out of nowhere like he did, the Fix Is In. Hey, if nothing else, the Libertarians have a voice. I don't see my boy Ron Paul making it with all of the Evil Empire shit he is going to face. So enjoy your plastic corporate shill candidate America! You deserve him.

Scriturra,

We all know who Ron Paul is and what he stands for.

.

The surge of Ron Paul is an inspiration to us all. It would seem that he will not win. Santorum or Romney are the most likely to ultimately receive the Republican nomination. There is a candidate who embodies the soul of Ron Paul and that person is Gary Johnson. Gary Johnson is running on a Ron Paul platform for the Liberatarian Party. When we get to the voting booth in November, I will not be holding my nose and voting for a Romney, a Santorum or an Obama. I will proudly vote for the person who best estoles the virtues of Ron Paul and that will be Gary Johnson.

". It would seem that he will not win."

If he can't win a caucus he can't win a primary. He should withdraw and endorse Gary Johnson.

"Gary Johnson is running on a Ron Paul platform for the Liberatarian Party."

I believe that last night he changed his mind and said he would not seek the Presidential nomination of the Libertarian Party, most likely to leave that slot open for Ron Paul if he wants it.

"For Santorum to come out of nowhere like he did, the Fix Is In."

I don't doubt it, the RNC doesn't really want any of the Republican hopefuls, they will let them beat each other up all the way to the convention but not allow any of them to achieve a majority then we'll have an open convention where a new name will be nominated, IMHO that will be Jeb Bush.

I could ramble on and on about how Ron Paul still has a college try left to buck the system but the reality is America is not ready for a society full of free thinkers. Its too dangerous. I have nothing else to contribute. I will just end up in an NDAA camp permanently detained anyway.

I'm outty-

'but the reality is America is not ready for a society full of crazy old coots who's motto is "I've got mine, go fuck yourself"'

I understand why you feel this way but the Iowa Caucus is a reflection of a huge shift in thinking. Santorum is nothing more than a knee jerk reaction. In spite of the mistreatment by the mainstream media, the message of Ron Paul is still getting out there. Iowa reflects what can happen when Paul's message lodges in your brain and the light comes on. I believe this was a huge vote of confidence from those who have come to understand this message of liberty. The others will come along as they hear the untainted truth and we havent even touched the democrat vote yet. There are many democrats out there who are ready to vote for Paul. No other Republican can claim voters from that pool. I think he is going to continue his upward motion all the way to the White House. As for Santorum, people are going to begin to realize now that he has irreconcilable issues in his past. For instance, the group called Citizens for Ethics have filed complaints about Santorum in the past and named him one of the corrupt politicians in Washington. Sooner or later, that will become publicly known and then he can step down like his predecessors, and Ron Paul and Romney will be the only 2 standing.
Romney is not the candidate of choice, he is just a tad bit better than the others, aside from Paul. As people continue to understand Ron Paul's views, they will support him. It just needs a little more time.

Ron Paul will never get the vote of anyone whose skin color is darker than a sunburn.

You shouldn't have to ask why.

In an interview with Candy Crowley on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday, Ron Paul slammed the 1964 Civil Rights Act, saying it “undermine[d] the concept of liberty” and “destroyed the principle of private property and private choices.”

---But just in case you really didn't know.

Now, would you like to hear the Libertarian position on abortion, ala Ron Paul.....?

Ahem, sorry----I just have to do this-----Ron Paul wants a federal law establishing life begins at conception----

Fascinating, isn't it? Paul would allow "private choices" to exclude the darker races from eating tuna salad sandwiches at the same lunch counter as Whites----("Holy Selma, Batman!)

But he won't allow choice to extend to something as personal as your own body. Unless you want to do drugs.

I beg to differ. The media has taken a situation that he had nothing to do with and that has been rehashed ad nauseum. Paul was practicing medicine at the time the newsletter was written. He was the publisher, not the editor and accepts full responsibility for it and completely disavows the words written. This is the kind of garbage the media uses to discredit a man who is the farthest thing from racist because they dont like his Constitutional, small government message. Nothing in Paul's life has ever promoted or sven slightly indicated any prejudice. He would have to be schizophrenic to subscribe to racism. Everything in his message supports the individual regardless of race or social status. He champions equality. An ex-patient of his spoke out about his compassion and race had no bearing on Paul when he intervened and finally ended up paying this man's bill and treating his wife. And he did this kind of thing all throughout his medical practice, having never turned anyone away who could not pay. This is not someone you can pull the racist card on with any seriousness.

Paul is a visionary, while he understands the problems associated with race and prejudice, he believes strongly that to mandate personal choice is stepping into an area that government is not equipped to go, nor are they authorized. He relegates these decisions to the states where he believes they should be dealt with. That is a far cry from not respecting civil liberties. He is the biggest voice out there in that camp. This is just another fabrication and manipulation of the media, who would rather people believe the wrong things about this candidate than lose their control of the people's opinions and thought process.

Not even close. He is saying get the federal government out of these decisions. Yes, he is pro-life. He wants to see Roe v wade repealed and place the decision for abortion in the hands of the states. Taking away authority from the federal court system that it was never intended to have. Remember, he is all about upholding the Constitution. I know this is difficult for some to grasp, because for so long we have looked to the mighty government to keep us kids in line, but that is not healthy or safe. This kind of power leads to more loss of freedoms and backfires, even if the law is a good one. It leads to further intrusion by our legislators and eventually we all lose freedom. That is the big picture and Paul is a big picture person. He sees the states rights as closer to the voice of the people and ultimately we get more input. He does not support the mistreatment of minorities and never has. He feels that these issues are better left to the states and that people need to take responsibility for their actions. This is a hard message to swallow but it invigorates personal involvement and gets a bureacracy out of the equation. Unless you feel you are not civilized enough to realize in this time we live in that racism is heinous, then perhaps a socialized or communist state would be the best place for you to park your residence. The Patriot Act has come as a result of so many interventionist legislations and Paul is seeing the outcome, not the temporary benefit. What good is it if you gain one freedom and lose a dozen others?

this ad was not produced by the Paul campaign, it was made independently

"He feels that these issues are better left to the states"

Sure buddy, like slavery. How's that one turn out?

"how'd".

You can't really be serious with that comment, can you? Racism is a problem with the soul, anyone who harbors prejudice like that, will never be remedied by a federal law. The real problem is that people project their own shortcomings onto government and expect them to fix it, when the real problem lies within. It is like a dysfunctional relationship with little results. Racism will go away when people realize that God made all men in His image and that there are no differences in value and that skin color is nothing more than a small difference in pigmentation. Those who hold that kind of hatred in their hearts will never change because of a federal law. It will change when people do something about it, both personally and in their own communities. I say you need to wean yourself from big govt and get off that useless breast.

Racism is a problem with the soul

Absolutely. Until you want to take a piss and Libertarian notions of privacy forbid you from doing it at the Whites Only filling station.

Ron Paul is old enough to recall those times. But of course he never suffered from them, having the right skin orientation.

Scriturra----

You're a very young man/woman. This pretty much shows. Life was Hell in the South when the States were in charge of the issue of race. Moreover, the entire situation threatened the security of the country as a whole, which is one reason the Feds intervened.

Sane people aren't going to take the chance of going back to that.

Ron Paul will never get the vote of anyone whose skin color is darker than a sunburn.

You shouldn't have to ask why.

there aren't any minorities interested in Paul's anti-drug war stance?

none?

well, if you are right and nobody darker than Paul votes for him, that would only mean that minorites are the real racists in this country.

But I think you are wrong, Zed. I think Paul will gather some votes from "darkies".

-Sane people aren't going to take the chance of going back to that.

no, but only INsane people would believe that we have any chance at all of returning to such a time.

usually it's stuff like starving grandma and kids and letting people die in hospital parking lots....now you have resorted to removing equal rights for blacks.

you poor soul zed. funny, you suffer from more paranoia than any "non sober" person here.

Paul is in complete agreement that the Jim Crow laws were ridiculous, his concern is with the government regulating the private sector because of the abuses that could lead to. That is what I mean about how the media leaves half the story out. Paul's concerns go back to Constitutional property rights and feels that quotas create more problems than they fix and lead to further laws that restrict.

Ron Paul will never get the vote of anyone whose skin color is darker than a sunburn.

You shouldn't have to ask why.

Last time I checked, I was a darkie and I support Ron Paul. Two of my other friends, both darkies (shocker), also will support him in the upcoming primaries.
