Sarah Palin said on Fox News Monday that Michelle Bachmann and Jon Huntsman should quit the Republican presidential race and urge their supporters to back another contender. Palin said of Bachmann, "She has a lot to offer, also, but I don't think it is her time this go-around."

Well, she IS the expert on quitting, doncha' know (wink!)

She waiting for an NBA player to enter the race. That's a candidate she can get excited about.

Huntsman will quit or suspend after NH and Bachmann after SC.

Hey Smurpy,

Still got that wide-on for Frothy? Or is it the Nootster today. You are so fucking fickle anymore its very hard to keep up.

Bachmann, she has a lot to offer, that is of course, if you are delusional and need to be comforted by an imaginary sky fairy to make it through life...

Beat me to it. I saw this while I was sorting through emails and my first thought was "well she'd be the one to know about quitting".

Huntsman will quit or suspend after NH and Bachmann after SC.

Bachmann after or at Florida.

the very fact that bachmann is still in this dog and pony show speaks volumes on the state of your nation...she would be laughed out of office anywhere else in the world.

.
......because....
.
.....Bachmann is too crazy.... and Huntsman is not crazy enough.......

"She has a lot to offer, also, but I don't think it is her time

Palin is looking for another woman to join her in her new career-Cross dancing. It's the same as pole dancing but they use a cross and wear myrrh pasties. Big hit at the evangelical events when they do "Eve and the salacious snake". Tips go to Palin's Home for Mothers of Unwed Mothers.

I hoped Huntsman would've received more attention and support, but with an ambassador post from 'the enemy' topped with him being a sane, scandal free person it was just unheard of by GOP standards.

Bachmann should've realized her time was up the first time she had to publicly remind people she is a serious candidate.

It would be respectable of Palin if she took her own advice and threw her support behind a current candidate.

Jesus Christ, Bachmann has a lot to offer? Wow.

And I don't think Huntsman will quit after NH. I think he'll get a boost and keep moving through a few more primaries. But when he does leave the race--he will have to 'cause this GOP doesn't like smart, savvy, experience in world affairs, uniting, and moderate--I hope to God he doesn't throw his support to ANY of these people. He should just step back, watch, and position himself for 2016.

But when he does leave the race--he will have to 'cause this GOP doesn't like smart, savvy, experience in world affairs, uniting, and moderate--

The single biggest complain most liberals have of GOP pols in the past and today are the protection of the tax rates on the wealthy. Jon Huntsman wants to lower them even more than they are now.

and you call him a moderate?

My issue isn't with the rest of what you talk about but, let's be honest, you can't really measure those things.

But his tax plan you can.....and yet you consider him "moderate".

Eb,

Huntsman is moderate because he claims he would work well with Democrats (and has in the past).

Whatever his campaign position is on taxes now, he's basically saying he's open to changing it in order to come up with a solution everyone can agree to. He might agree to a smaller increse than letting them expire altogether, or agree to preserving the rates in exchange for increases elsewhere.

At least that's how I interpret him.

Huntsman is moderate because he claims he would work well with Democrats (and has in the past).

when?

when?

He worked in the Obama administration.

President Barack Obama nominated Jon Huntsman to serve as the United States Ambassador to China on May 16, 2009, noting his experience in the region and proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.

en.wikipedia.org

I knew about his abassadorship but I thought you referring to some job where he had to work directly with member of congress and the senate.

I'd say the job you referenced his diplomacy skills and his intelligence.

But I don't see how that illustrates how well he has worked with democrats (at least Congress).

Don't get me wrong......I'm not Anti-Huntsman at all.

I just don't see how any leftie who claims to be against something as appauling as 999 from Herman Cain but is okay with Huntsman's tax plan. There is no way they could possibly support that.

And they can't claim, "well, that would have no chance of getting anywhere so why be afraid of it" when they didn't say that with Cain. They were all over it with Cain.

what's the difference? (other than Herman Cain was leading in the polls at the time and Huntsman consistenly runs last)

But I don't see how that illustrates how well he has worked with democrats (at least Congress).

He's using that experience to contrast himself with other Republicans. He's basically saying that at a time when his party didn't work with Obama, he did. He then goes to explain that illustrates his willingness to work with the other party.

Might not be a perfect argument, but it is what it is.

Huntsman also was (or says he was) successful working both sides of the aisle when he was governor.

But Eb, good point about the tax plan--I was disappointed when he said he backs the Ryan plan. I never commented on Cain here, though, so I hope you weren't speaking of me there...

And he's certainly perceived as moderate by some--else why would he have to defend his conservative cred?

--I was disappointed when he said he backs the Ryan plan.

The good news for Huntsman is Ryan doesn't even back the Ryan plan. He's now pro-socialism, after his fellow GOPpers went home and had their asses kicked by their constituents.

The most important thing to take away from Palin's interview is she got her face back on CNN. And she didn't have to bite the head off any turkey to do it.

22--Ha. And I'm disappointed, not concerned. The president can't drive economic policy all by himself.

Bachmann, Huntsman: Palin Should Go Piss Up a Rope

Quittin' lessons from Saint Sarah?

Jokes just write themselves, don't they?

Trump's making noises again about a 3rd party run causing much speculation.

Spud , quite frankly, is still hoping for a Trump/Palin indy run to draw off the stupid vote.

This is Spud's Dream Ticket.

For the lulz, people.

Be Well.

Spud , quite frankly, is still hoping for a Trump/Palin indy run to draw off the stupid vote.

Given the intellectual quality of the righties as exhibited here, that ticket could actually win.

Trump/Palin .... that ticket could actually win.

........if Trump-Palin would win.....the administration would look like this.......

Eberly, the difference is Cain based his whole campaign platform on 999. It was his main talking point. That's what the average American knows him as. The undecided left can get behind Huntsman for 2 reasons: 1) Jobs will not increase under a Democrat president 2) Huntsman is the only candidate to openly and willingly work with both sides of the aisle.

"The undecided left can get behind Huntsman for 2 reasons: 1) Jobs will not increase under a Democrat president 2) Huntsman is the only candidate to openly and willingly work with both sides of the aisle."

a few more:
3) When others called for hawkish stances towards Iran (gee, just what we need, another ME debacle) he spoke of diplomacy
4) He refused to sign the dumbass Grover Norquist fealty oath
5) He refused to sign the "personhood" pledge
6) He actually understands China and our relationship to our most important partner, going forward
7) He reset his home state's tax code to be simpler and broader, which has succeeded so far
8) He believes in legal equality for gay relationships

oh, and

9) He'd beat Obama by a huge margin, because he'd beat Obama on O's home turf, while sweeping the Republicans.

He's polling 1%.

I don't think he would beat obama.

diplomacy skills won't get him elected
not signing a pledge won't matter that much
gay rights? you're insane if you think that will attract moderates.

face it....if Huntsman won the nomination....Obama would go after him with both barrels.

by the time you had to pull the lever for Huntsman, Obama would make you feel like you were wearing a white hood for doing it. Huntsman would turn into a racist, homophobic, backwoods, cowboy. There is no way the leftists here, who pretend they support Huntsman, would EVER vote for him if the won the nomination.

no

way

I don't know, Eb. I would take a good, hard look. He's weird-lookin', but he's the real deal, I think.

I don't think you can make Huntsman look like all of those things. Not even the Messiah can do that. Heh.

I think that part of Danforth's list is there because D finds them admirable choices, not as evidence of his ability to win.

But on Iran, he was pretty forceful when I heard him speak, and in the debate with Gingrich. He sounded hawkish to me. Yes, diplomacy first, but ready to do some dirty work. He's quiet, though, maybe even sort of an intellectual (gasp). Maybe that's another reason some on the left can get behind him. (Jogi's #2 is particularly apt.)

Prag, interesting Jogi believes jobs won't be increase under a dem president.

I'm curious how many lefties agree with that.

another 4 years of no jobs?.....if one believed that...HOW could they vote for Obama again, then?

-I don't think you can make Huntsman look like all of those things. Not even the Messiah can do that.

once again, it is illustrated that my opinion of obama is higher that some of his most ardent supporters. He is most capable of doing that. All he has to do is wait to learn which one of these buzzards he has to shoot and he will unload on them. He has more money than all these guys put together anyway (I don't really know how the money is spread out and guessing).

"He's polling 1%."

So is this a horse race to you, or are you looking for the best candidate?

I'm just saying that he's polling at 1%.

he won't go anywhere with that. he'll drop out.

best candidate? I don't have a problem with him.

just saying......

"if Huntsman won the nomination....Obama would go after him with both barrels. "

Half would be empty, as they agree on a lot of issues. Huntsman would take moderates, and Republicans would nod and vote for President ABO (R).

Santorum pulls ahead...

Go Prick, Go!

Half would be empty, as they agree on a lot of issues.

not for long if they squared off.

both barrels

in the face

I hope Huntsman is on the Texas Republican primary because I will vote for him.

If he isn't I will write in some loon for president to express my disgust.

Well, ... a Paul/Bachmann ticket would garner an Obama vote like last time with the old fart and the loon-with-no-business-with-
the-football..
Ray doesn't even fucking participate yet he bitches.

Move to Somalia Ray.
Of course at your age you are a pre-fossil in toaster jargon, when the electricity works.

Party on!

There really should be a requirement to at least read and pass a minimal test on the Constitution before being allowed to vote.

The exact term is 'no religious test' geniuses.
Article Six.

While you're at it, look up the Treaty of Tripoli.

Fact is everything since Reagan has been a disaster, save a little dip in debt/GDP during Clinton but that fucker sold us out to China way more than Reagan.

I didn't vote for any of them until the idiots came up with Palin.
Nuclear weapons are my business; That idiot with the trigger is unacceptable.

Danforth's list is prime example of why Huntsman won't be elected, too far off the Republican base. If these 9,527 debates have shown the undecided voter anything, it's that other that Huntsman and Paul, the rest are having a pissing contest to see who's more conservative. Come general election time do you think the average American is going to care who's more liberal/conservative or what candidate is best to get things done?

Eb, thank you for expounding on my no jobs under a dem president. To clarify, under a dem president we have heard the following: businesses sitting on profits due to undetermined standards/healthcare, businesses openly stating 'no hiring till Obama's gone', and a pro union atmosphere. I say jobs won't increase under a dem president because republicans are acting like an upset child who quit and took their ball home with them. The problem is the ball they took.

"another 4 years of no jobs?.....if one believed that...HOW could they vote for Obama again, then?"

I don't agree with it; that's why I cited only his #2.

As for making Huntsman look like all those things, no, I don't think so. That would be like making me look like a raging conservative and a hater of all things not white.

If there is one thing Sarah know, it's quitting.
