Bored? You came to the right place. Any moment now, Moder8 will post his daily suck up to Gracie and bayside and the scorn-fest will begin.

AND BEfore you make some FEEBLE attempt at getting some SHOTS in..

1. I haven't loved Favre for a number of years.
2. It's not an "uncanny knack"....It's deliberate so I don't have to deal with you. : p

Being in the Bowels of Barbara Bush ain't much better...unless you mean the daughter. I always found her cute.

Who's Gracie and bayside?

Nice Kaneri #32. Being civil is not sucking up.

Oh...never mind. Hello Gracie.

Goodd for you Lisa #37 for asking and not accusing us of being Moder8.

And hello back at you1

Gracie and Bayside are two very pleasant ladies who seem to drive the jerks and trolls crazy simply by being two very pleasant ladies. I greatly enjoy the visceral reactions they bring out among the most obnoxious posters.

Also, welcome aboard SouthernGirl. Treat comments from people who are mean just like water off of a duck's back. Ignore them.

You've been accused of being Mod??

LOL Interesting.

Being civil is not sucking up.

#38 | Posted by gracieamazed at 2011-12-28 01:14 PM |

I know. I am civil to you. Moder8 sucks up. If you knew more about Moder8, you would realize this too. Especially given the things you and bay say about Obama; he is totally sucking up to the only two people here who don't think he is a joke.

"Gracie and Bayside are two very pleasant ladies who seem to drive the jerks and trolls crazy simply by being two very pleasant ladies"

Well, some things never change around here.

#44 I don't judge people based on what others think of them. So far so good. He knows I don't like Obama and I know he does. We move on and discuss other things.

Always been Southerngirl. I'm from Georgia. I left another forum recently because the people there were to mean and hateful!

#22 | POSTED BY SOUTHERNGIRL AT 2011-12-28 01:01 PM

People here are mean and hateful...but only the libs. And yes, everyone here is insane. And one more thing: If you have small children or farm animals, keep them away from Clownshart.

You came here to avoid "mean and hateful?" While most of the spite here is done with a tongue firmly in cheek, there is still quite a lot of vile around here.

"I don't judge people based on what others think of them. "

True. Most people can't stand BL2. If I based my views on what others think of him, we wouldn't have been friends for the past 6 or so years.

Now...someone hit the abusive button on this post so it gets deleted. I don't want him to see anything I write that may be construde as being nice to him!!

Kanrei, with his constant fence sitting and desire to be liked by both the left and right is actually, imho, one of the biggest and least credible suck-ups here on the DR. Few posters play the cliqueish games as constantly as he does. Whatever. We each enjoy coming to the DR for different reasons. I just don't enjoy the wishy-washy dishonesty and arrogance that some seem to constantly display. Also, I find the manner in which he constantly disrespects Danni (who is a very honest and opinionated individual) to be distasteful.

Ummm....justanoversight?? You can't say that just the libs are nasty. I've seen plenty of hatefulness from those on the right.

I never could understand why people just can't agree to disagree without the name calling and nasty comments.

Most people can't stand BL2. If I based my views on what others think of him, we wouldn't have been friends for the past 6 or so years.

Gotta agree. 101 and AFK are two posters here I love to read and they take jokes and give them right back always knowing it was done in fun. Most people here hate them.

I can't stand Obama! And it's not racial because I'm from the South! He is destroying our Country!

#52 | POSTED BY SOUTHERNGIRL AT 2011-12-28 01:26 PM

Oh now you did it. Expect the hate in 3..2..1..

SouthernGirl: Honest question - who in the GOP field do you support? I realize that as someone who can't stand President Obama you probably prefer them all to him. But who among them are you actually enthusiastic about? (I ask this because I have trouble imagining anyone being too enthusiastic for Romney or Gingrich.)

"Now...someone hit the abusive button on this post so it gets deleted. I don't want him to see anything I write that may be construde as being nice to him!!"
#50 | Posted by Lisa at 2011-12-28 01:25 PM | Reply

Sorry, my friend, won't work. Rcade reviews all of them, and he'll just think you're just being abusive to the rest of us (and that won't bother him much!)
Nice to see you here again, by the way.

Kanrei, with his constant fence sitting and desire to be liked by both the left and right is actually, imho, one of the biggest and least credible suck-ups here on the DR.

ROFLMAO! Talk about talking points! Name one issue I am "on the fence" about. Name an issue I have not expressed a clear position on and have stayed with it even when the party of the President changed.

As to sucking up here? Another big ROFLMAO! I can't think of another poster who gets more happy when he is being hated here than me. I get in daily fights here and rarely do they desend into pointless name calling.

Now go start a thread about how you are treated here again.

LOL Kan! 101 used to scare the crap outta me...and then I learned his growl is so much worse than his bite.

#52 And he has smelly farts.

Hi Hawk!!! How are you?

I know RCADE reviews them. Nothing I flag ever gets deleted.

Ummm....justanoversight?? You can't say that just the libs are nasty.

#53 | POSTED BY LISA AT 2011-12-28 01:27 PM

I didn't say libs are nasty. I said they are mean and hateful.

Same thing. It's all nasty behavior.

You are not hated, Kan. And I thought you were going somewhere today. Did you have everything you needed??

How do you quote someones post on here?

#60 | Posted by Southerngirl at 2011-12-28 01:30 PM |

Cut and paste. Use the html codes (without the spaces) < i > and < / i > to italics them.

And I thought you were going somewhere today. Did you have everything you needed??

#65 | Posted by Lisa at 2011-12-28 01:34 PM |

After work and I hope so. They keep springing new stuff everytime I go. This is my third trip.

Hi, Lisa!
I'm just fine. Don't get on here as often as I'd like (usually when doing diagnostics on office computers; have to do something between error messages) but otherwise good. How was your Christmas?

I had everything done in a week and a half, Kan...from start to finish!! : )

Where am I on the fence?

I don't come here often, either.

Christmas was wonderful! How was yours?

Hey Kanrei. Been craving two things, Garlic Knoes from College Park Inn and Shorty's BBQ. Are they both still there?

Kanrei, as much as you like to puff yourself up, be honest for a moment. There is no poster on the DR more willing to piss off others and draw a proverbial target on themself for the cliqueish sheeple than me. I would much rather be despised by a certain type of poster here on the DR (such as you and your self satisfied clique), than be embraced as one of the smirking faux in-the-know group. You on the other hands go to lengths to ingratiate yourself and be buddies with the biggest assholes on this site. You prefer to attack individuals such as Danni, who stands on her own and is not in desperate need of the group approval which you obviously constantly crave. You prefer to be embrace and engage in stupid male-bonding rituals with the morons.

Knots.......Damn no edit post.......

College Park Inn I don't know about, but Shorty's is still everywhere. I assume you mean the main one on US1 near Dadeland? That is still very much there and exactly as you remember.

My Christmas was great. A little too much snow for my taste (we had about a quarter inch on the ground) but not too cold anyway.
Thoroughly enjoying the Packer season, of course.

War? Me Be Anti-Last Resort, for defensive purposes
Abortion? Woman's Individual Right to Choose, unimpaired by government influence, available on demand
Human rights? Applicable to all, liberal and inclusive
Torture? Never acceptable
Voting? Right of citizens
Taxes? Rich/Corporations more
Economy? Regulated Capitalist Market
Obama? Fair to midling
Bush? spawn of feces
Libya? No right to intervene
The 2012 election? my vote is in question, thought it will not be for a republican, exc. possibly Paul
Political parties? Dems Suck, Repubs are active evil.

I aint no fence sitter.

Yep the one at Dadeland. College Park Inn was across the street from MDCC in Kendall.

I used to be a babysitter, does that count?

Packer D better start stepping up. They'll be out the first playoff game if they don't.

ROFLMAO! That very posting makes you the "self-satisfied clique." You are just too stupid to realize it. Your entire post reeks of self-satisfaction and ego masturbation.

Hey Kan,
nice of you to teach Gracie how to italicize (I didn't know that either, by the way) but now teach her how to stop it (which I also don't know)!

Close Southerngirl. YOu didn't close it.

but now teach her how to stop it

JANE....HOW DO YOU STOP THIS CRAZY THING?

I don't know how I did it.

College Park Inn was across the street from MDCC in Kendall.

Where Hungry Bear subs is? NO, that is long closed.

LOL George Jetson!!! LOL I love that cartoon!

Cripes Zombies have invaded the nooner.

I've been a Packer fan since age 10. That's a very, VERY long time!!

Come on Moder8 and take the challenge. Should be easy, right?

Southern,

Same way you started it, but with /i inside the < >.

Well Kan, to be perfectly honest...there was a time you couldn't decide whether to hit elderly folks with colostomy bags head on or broad side them.

You did sit the fence on that issue.

LOL... it was just because colostomy bags explode on the hood of your car and, in the Florida heat, is rather gross.

"I've been a Packer fan since age 10. That's a very, VERY long time!!"
#92 | Posted by Lisa at 2011-12-28 01:46 PM | Reply

Now, now. Not nearly that long.
You're right about the defense, though. While they have their moments, that bend-but-not-break strategy only works really well against teams that don't put up many points (you know, like the Bears Sunday...)

Here is a real fence sitter:

DR: I hate the war
Obama extends the war
DR: The war is needed

DR: I hate the Bush Tax Cuts
Obama extends Bush Tax Cuts
DR: Well, the economy was in trouble

DR: I hate Gitmo
Obama keeps Gitmo
DR: Well, they have to be somewhere.

"You did sit the fence on that issue."

Gee ... I missed that conversation ... thankfully ...

Great game on Sunday. I'm glad the Pack knocked the playoff hopes right outta da Bears!

An interception once in awhile does not constitute a good defense. I don't know what's wrong with them this year but they are getting manhandled out there. If it wasn't for our offense (Rodgers), we'd be sitting along side the Vikequeens!!

You missed a funny conversation, Hawk!

"Think I will just copy and paste without the italics. LOL!"

Worked for me all these years. I throw in quotation marks to differentiate the exact quote, but that's just being fussy.

"You missed a funny conversation, Hawk!"
#103 | Posted by Lisa at 2011-12-28 01:53 PM | Reply

Hmmm. Judging by the sample, I think I'll just take your word for it.
I know our D gives up a lot of yards, but it's not just the occasional interception that makes them better than they're getting credit for. Remember Kansas City? Five times in the Red Zone, and six points total to show for it. That's pretty solid by anyone's standard.

lol

funny for the italics--lol

Hey Lisa!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

That may be true. I just cringe every time our defense is on the field!! lol

But...they're better than the Chargers. Oh, Hi Murphy!! : p

LOL Hi Murph!!!

Merry Christmas and a very Blessed New Year to you too!!!

lol

: )

OMG, that's your standard? LOL!

If Football records worked like golf scores, you all would be so jealous of Miami right now =P

Naaaww, Hawk. I just said that cuz I saw Murphy post. Tried to rattle her cage!

Didn't work. : (

LOL Kan!

I love reading your mom's stuff about Miami. I keep encouraging her and supporting her team!

OH, Murph's a Chargers fan? I am so sorry.

Kanrei, I don't play your games. Go be impressed with yourself on your own time.

LOL Hawk. She is!!

I can't wait to see Lambeau's reaction to Suh on Sunday!!!

Kanrei, I don't play your games. Go be impressed with yourself on your own time.

#117 | Posted by moder8 at 2011-12-28 02:04 PM |

Not playing a game. You made an accusation and I am asking you to back it up.

You said: Kanrei, with his constant fence sitting and desire to be liked by both the left and right is actually, imho, one of the biggest and least credible suck-ups here on the DR.

I am asking you to back up that statement or admit you are full of shit as usual.

Scuffles have broken out between rival groups of Greek Orthodox and Armenian clerics in a turf war at Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity.

Bemused tourists looked on as about 100 priests fought with brooms while cleaning the church in preparation for Orthodox Christmas, on 7 January.

Palestinian police armed with batons and shields broke up the clashes.

OH, Murph's a Chargers fan? I am so sorry.

#125 | Posted by Cornbread at 2011-12-28 02:24 PM |

Nope. I always look when names I don't know talk about things "still" going on here and laugh when, as with you, find it was a newly created account. That means you are an idiot coward. Not paranoid at all.

What's the deal with you wanting to post a pic, Southern???

SouthernGirl, you can post a pic if you want. I just don't recommend it. Pictures of kids though are always cool.

#127 Why would you want to post a pic of yourself and why do you assume you would get stalkers from it. Which begs back to the first question of why would you want to?

Pictures of kids though are always cool.

Posted by moder8 at 2011-12-28 02:37 PM |

On here Moder8, picture of kids? There are some people here that are far from stable.

I would NEVER post a picture of one of my children here!! Good grief that's asking for trouble!

I've sent pictures to my friends via email, posted them on my FB page where only certain people can view them but I would not recommend posting them here!

Pictures of kids though are always cool.
#129 | Posted by moder8

WTF???

Agree Lisa. There is more then one disturbing poster here. Asking for trouble crossing the line on keeping some this personal IMHO.

Really? Posting a picture of your grandchild is asking for trouble? Maybe you are right. Ya never know what strange wierd people may be lurking behind innocuous screen-names. Personally, I enjoyed seeing those few family pictures that on occasion have been posted. It is normal to be proud of our offspring. Even if a few jerks will use such info as fodder for abuse. Screw 'em.

As for pervs such as Kanrei and Wurster whose first thoughts are apparently pedophilia related, - that says far about you than about anyone else. Wow.

I like this game:

War: Against it but if necessary go all the way
Abortion: Keep it for those who want it, but no tax dollars should be used
Human rights: Everyone should have a few :)
Torture: Against real torture - see North Vietnam and Japan [WWII} for actual examples
Voting: Everyone qualified should -- but only once per election
Taxes: EVERYONE should have some skin in the game, not just 'the wealthy'
Economy: Get the govt out of meddling with it.
Obama: Bye Bye in '12
Bush: Could have been better by not spending like a liberal
Libya: Should have not intervened
The 2012 election: Time for change
Political parties: Hell, everyone likes a good party!

But I am sure Moder8 posted that without thinking it through. He has never been anything but nice when discuss things here including family in a generic way with me.

I said nothing pervy. If you took it as such, that is your issue. I said two words: Nuff said.

What happened to "If you are not interested, move along. No need to be an insulting troll?"

It's not a matter of being proud of your child or grandchild, Mod. It's a matter of keeping them safe. I couldn't care less about what most people here say about me or my children but there are some here who I know are not stable and simply want to keep my child safe.

Better to email pics to others if you feel they are trustworthy and safe individuals.

Lisa and Gracie DID however think pervy things:

On here Moder8, picture of kids? There are some people here that are far from stable.

-I would NEVER post a picture of one of my children here!! Good grief that's asking for trouble!

I did...once.

Mod: Kan is not a perv.

Hi Eb! Happy New Year!

You must have tried to post one here, Southern since you made a previous comment on this thread about not being able to.

Mod: Kan is not a perv.

Hey, if he won't back up his statement that I am a fence sitter, I won't back up my "nuff said" quote. Take it to mean what you want.

You too, Lisa.

Lisa: Sorry. If his first thought was inferentially quasi-sexual when the mention of photos of kids comes up, he is at least suspect of being a perv. And spin as he might like to, saying "nuff said" in that context certainly has an inferential quasi-sexual implication to it. Just because you are a good person whose mind does not work like that, don't assume that about others.

Kaneri I never took what Moder8 said as anything but what it was. It is other people here I have issues with and he so far is not one of them.

#137 | Posted by moder8

I wouldn't want freak jobs like dethpud looking at pics of my kids. That guy is a pedo for sure.

Mod:

My very first thought was not to put up pics of children because some people are not safe. Does that make me a perv?

You two need to bury the hatchet...and not into each other's heads either!!

-And spin as he might like to, saying "nuff said" in that context certainly has an inferential quasi-sexual implication to it.

oh, just shut your fucking whining piehole.

good grief, could you work yourself into being a bigger pussy if you really worked at it?

You two need to bury the hatchet...and not into each other's heads either!!

#154 | Posted by Lisa at 2011-12-28 02:55 PM |

No, we don't. He is a worthless fuckwit who I enjoy playing with when I am bored and is easily ignored the other 99% of the time.

#154 Lisa I like you. I wish they would all just chill. So much hate for people they have never met around here!

Wurster, I highly doubt Spud is a pedo. Geesh!

certainly has an inferential quasi-sexual implication to it.

LOL! What you inferred is up to you. I implied nothing. You said pictures of kids are fine and I said nuff said. YOU take that to mean something pervy.

I take it to be a standard Nooner quick witted response to a statement that was left open. You want to assign a deeper character flaw to me based on a harmless joke, that is on you, not on me. YOU are the one who went there, not me.

LOL You're in a very small minority, Gracie!!! But thank you!

Wow, I'm gone for an hour (a laptop needed persuading to talk to the network like it is supposed to) and this conversation takes a really odd turn.

I highly doubt Spud is a pedo.

I don't really know, but until we accurately diagnose him with whatever ails him.....we're sticking with pedo.

Mod and Kan...if you two aren't careful, I just may break out into "Let There Be Peace On Earth"!!!

You don't want that!! : )

I just may break out into "Let There Be Peace On Earth"!!!

If you do, I'll write a parody of it =P

Eb,

Spud is unique. That hardly qualifies someone to be a pedo.

LOL Kan!

I'm sure you would!

Lisa: You seem to be a genuinely nice person. Worrying about the safety of children is very different from immediately have implicitly salacious thoughts about children.

Insofar as burying the hatchet with Kanrei... the problem is I do not respect him. And, not to be petty or anything, I think he very sophomoric in his opinions. Kind of reminds me of what people say about Newt. He comes across as the kind of person that stupid people make the mistake of thinking is smart.
These are my genuine impressions of him, and I don't make these comments simply as flame fodder. Sorry.

inferentially quasi-sexual

How about some more qualifiers?

Inferentially-quasi-partially-
somewhat-not entirely-maybe sexual

Kanrei that is what we need a paradoy! I love them!!

I fucked up today and started with Mod. I take full blame for that when I told Lisa about his sucking up. Usually, Mod and I do a great job of ignoring one another. I am sure we very quickly will return to form.

#161

Welcome to the world of Drudge!! : )

I'm with Gracie though...I can't stand the bickering and name calling. Good people whose pride prevents them from holding civilized conversations. It's a shame.

And yes...I'm scolding!! : )

Hi Joe! Happy New Year.

Sorry about the Bears. Ok, I'm really not! : )

Me?
Boy, do I know when to walk back into a conversation!

the problem is I do not respect him.

And there is the rub; I don't respect or disrespect you. You are devoid of value as a human being and a poster. As I said, I fucked up and acknowledged you today. My mistake. I should have known you would get beyond hysterical whinning about an obvious joke in the Nooner.

Mod:

I work with children. Their safety is a priority for me.

Both you and Kan have very good qualities. Try and focus on those as common ground rather than on your differences. ; )

Funny how you like to place your spin on everything. But what else is new... Don't worry, your buddies will be back by next week and can reassure with what you want to hear.

#174

No, not you!! lol

that is what we need a parody! I love them!!

Posted by gracieamazed at 2011-12-28 03:04 PM |

Nothing inspired me today. Been writing music on my iPad this weekend (with lyrics) and I have not been parody based lyrically right now.

My spin? Seems I took most of the blame for today.

I fucked up today and started with Mod. I take full blame for that when I told Lisa about his sucking up. Usually, Mod and I do a great job of ignoring one another. I am sure we very quickly will return to form.

Yeah, I clearly said I started with you. My G-d, are you really such a pussy you can't even take someone saying they started it without being a bitch about it?

I warned you!!!

Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth
The peace that was meant to be.
With God as our father
Brothers all are we.
Let me walk with my brother
In perfect harmony.

Let peace begin with me
Let this be the moment now.
With every step i take
Let this be my solemn vow.
To take each moment
And live each moment
With peace eternally.
Let ther be peace on earth,
And let it begin with me

Need I go on???? : )

Hi Joe! Happy New Year.

Sorry about the Bears. Ok, I'm really not, so long as i have this six pack of Wendy's triple stacks and case of Krispy Kremes here in bed with me :)

FTFY

Oh look!!! It's 8roper!!!!

I'm still praying for you, brother!!

Been watching I Love Lucy shows on You Tube. Funny stuff. And guess who died today? Cheetah the Chimp from Tarzan, 80 years old. I fell in love with Cheetah and asked Santa for a baby chimp every Christmas until like I was 40.

On a separate note, my other son flies in from Boston tomorrow. He was at the CG station for xmas, but gets New Year's off. We are all looking forward to it. Everything has been so festive as of late. This whole week has been like a Hallmark Christmas card at the Moder8 household.

Wurster, I highly doubt Spud is a pedo. Geesh!
#158 | Posted by Lisa

Think about it. Why would a grown man post like a 10 year old girl?

#183 ...... Tough. You can't have me.

Let there be pieces of Earth
Let this mortal coil release them now
With every breath I take
Let a lack of mercy be my vow
To suffer each moment
To endure each moment
With Hell eternally
Let there be pieces of Earth
And let them fly forever free.

Damn, mean one. I warned ya =P

Mod, Kan....notice how I could have said something derogitory to 8roper but didn't. Watch how I now ignore his posts. Try it! It's much more pleasant than reading and responding to insults with insults. : )

NOW SEE WHAT YOU GUYS DID??? PLAY NICE!
Don't make Lisa do that ever again (please???)

Is everyone here insane?

#12 | Posted by Southerngirl

Yes; but it normally only shows this badly on the Nooner thread.

Gracie,

I LOVE, I Love Lucy!!!! One of my favorites was when Lucy wallpapered Ethel to the wall!! Another was when they took apart the bbq pit looking for Lucy's ring and tried putting it back together!

Great shows!!

Not nearly as much fun though.

Great Moder8. Does that mean you have all your kids home at the same time? The Mrs must be beside herself with joy!!

You can do better than that, Kan!! lol

Sounds like you are having a wonderful Christmas season, Mod. Glad your son will be home with you!

You can do better than that, Kan!! lol

#195 | Posted by Lisa at 2011-12-28 03:20 PM |

I know. I felt rushed and I can't write mean parodies.

Fun is subjective, Kan!! : )

Actually, my daughter is in Tokyo. She was there last year but had to come home after the earthquake last April. She went back in September. My wife and I are planning on visiting her in Tokyo this Spring during the annual Japanese cherry blossom festivals. She is a college student majoring in Japanese. She wants to also learn Chinese and study business.

#197

GOOD!!! LOL

Good to see Lisa slithered on back. I have been wanting to insult her for months now. I wish Larry would bring his cowardly ass back too. Kanrei is a brown noser if I do say so myself.

Boy....Moder8's kids live pretty far away from him, don't they?

wonder why???????

I'm pretty sure Mod just explained why, Eb.

How's your family doing?

Lisa have you got your meathooks in anybody new? I'm sure you'll be looking for a new target before too long. Gotta keep that cash flow coming in.

Inwi, did you forget the years you spent relentlessly attacking me here while I was on vacation and unable to respond?

The Retort is hate and pain, if it wasn't, there would be no blog, it's what the people want.

Explains why you are always stratching your mustache.

No Rex, I do not recall ever doing that. But if I did, I apologize.

I hope you accept it.

BTW, I think we all need to take a moment of silent reflection and thank Michelle Obama for the man many many sacrifices she has made to be our First Lady.

She could have been an important person you know.

Lisa,

You were a Retort Warrior for a period of time there in like 2005 I would say. You gave as good as you got. I was quite proud of you then. Now you turn the other cheek; no fun at all =P

Euro at $1.29. Investors dumping gold, healthcare and China stocks.

Seems we still have plenty of room to debase our currecy and investors think Obamacare isn't going to hold up.

Kan,

I'm not proud of my behavior back in those days. My life is so much different now and I'm quite happy with it now!!

looks like the deprogramers forgot to teach you NOT to try to make the threads all about yourself.

it does. We moved to Kentucky for a couple years and we had him there....thought we were done.....guess not. He'll turn 4 in February.

Meanwhile, over on the Ben Nelson/Cornhusker Kickback thread Danni has come out with a ne endorsement:

Talking points are bullshit responses

Not if they are completely true. Then they are just an easy way to express a thought.
#13 | Posted by danni

So there you have it. Wonder how long she can go without blasting a poster for 'spouting talking points.' She probably doesn't remember she has endorsed them, for now.

What a nice day at the nooner.

No day is ever nice here. This is a war zone that the liberals must win at all costs.

Sorry J.A. It was nice. This Lisa poster seems have have a magic wand that spreads nice for the most part.

Lisa is awesome.

Agree Kanrei!

She is the only DR person I know on Facebook which says a lot as all my family and friends are there as well and I don't give that out.

You don't know Lisa like I do. She has said some of the most hateful things ever posted here.

Umm Kanrei sorry to burst your bubble but I know everyones facebook on here. I study my enemies like any good soldier should.

No, you don't, but nice try

ok Kanrei I'll create a fake acct and send you a message ok?

Won't prove anything as I am easy to find. Give me info on my friends

Well she was a breath of fresh air here. And I hope she visits as much as she can.

Your friends are hidden but your wall and where you work isn't hidden. I didn't say I had access to your page I just said I knew who you were and had seen your FB page.

Reread my post.

Oh. E page you see Is probably outdated. I changed privacy settings.

My real name is linked on my blog, so that takes maybe 3 clicks to find out.

Kanrei don't you find that creepy in a stalkish sort of way?

Amy Dickson Foster do you know this person?

Not really. I actually expect it considering the degree of fighting here and human nature. I am a member of life lock and check my credit often.

I am here, dear ones. Did ya miss me?

No I don't. Never heard that name. I googled my real name and found 3 other people with it. I am also not the only kanrei. Seems Japanese gamers use that name too.

I'd actually never put my photo or name on the web. I have gotten way too many death threats on the net. People on here would love to kill me if given the chance but I stay one step ahead of them.

I'm curious now jackass. Send this message to me. "amboogalard".

She was organizing a class reunion for you guys at one point for your HS class.

Kanrei did you go to MP HS right?

I don't take this place that seriously. Even Moder8 I don't hate. I don't know the real him any more than anyone here knows the real me. I am not kanrei offline. I doubt moder8 is moder8 offline. We all blog here and feel there is some level of mutual respect deep down.

Yes I did. Got me through a reunion site?

Now that is a bit much. Try me, I am curious.

It should freak me out I suppose, but I believe Ben jackass would not use it against me so
Ong as I never go after him.

I am bit confused as to how anyone on here can find anyone by linking to FB. That is a bit weird unless you have connections with someone on here that is giving out info.

"I am curious."

Yellow I doubt.

Damn auto correct. I meant to say even jackass won't so long as I don't go against him in real life

Did anyone see Barney's Franks boob shot? YUCK!

Patriot,

I link to my blog. My blog links to blog critics where I wrote under my real name. From ther, it is simple.

Man you guys are leaps and bounds ahead of me in Internet searching.

Gracie--the best show --by far--was the "Vitameatavegamin" show. Hilarious!

Yes Gracie. I am off on Friday and now Monday. Wondered if you guys wanted to do something on your lunch time.

#270, I agree Murphy! Flippin hilarious.

#270 That and when she went into labor. Her and Ethel stomping grapes. My gosh for that kind of TV again.

Who ever is leaving recorded messages looking for Jesus and not the Spanish pronunciation of Jesus with my last name..........Jesus doesn't reside at my residence. I am sorry that Jesus has a debt, but I am unable to assist Jesus at this time, although he lives in my heart. LOL We keep it on the answering machine for laughs. Tooo funny!

LOL #282 Had all the junk removed. Funny story, old pervert followed Patriot off the elevator and right to my hosptal room. Me, the nurse and her trying to figure out why he was there. OMG! THAT'S RIGHT! You little Capricorn! If we don't do lunch, then I will definitely come by!!!!!! I have been known in TN to send people singing birthday grams, and strip o' grams. MABL! I won't do either, but pay professionals for their services.

#285 Flagged funny. Not many will get it.

Happy Birthday! I just turned 46 last Thursday...

Meh lunch will do. Where have we not been kicked out of lately?

Happy belated birthday Shredder. Wish you were here, we could do a double b-day lunch Friday.

#282 and #283

Coming from two limpy nut sacks, that is funny. Once that thing quits working that is when you two must have decided that there was nothing left but DR and toe nail maintenance. How sad. They have meds for the lack of response from the little soldier but not much they can do for the flabby nut sacks.

Happy Birthday Shredder!

#292--Now that was a FF !!

Thanks, Gracie....My g/f was in Shalimar for Christmas....I wish I could have gone. It was cold up here in ATL.

Happy Birthday Gracie--you have the same B-Day as my niece.

Kanrei -- I'm pretty sure your name came up on my FB "people you might know" thing that pops up. I'm pretty sure it was you after reading the profile and seeing your name listed here. I don't know how the magic of FB made the connection

YOU NEED TO SEND ME SOME VARSITY ONION RINGS!!!!

Um, you ARE the goofiness around us.

That's easy PW--I'm chock full of goofiness

Hey Shredder:
Are you a rambling wreck from Georgia Tech or a Georgia Bulldog?

I haven't been to the Varsity in ages....the onion rings are the bomb.

Shredder I have family in Buford, an hour from Atlanta.

Goat,
Aren't you a friend of Lisa too?

YOU NEED TO SEND ME SOME VARSITY ONION RINGS!!!!

After a visit to the Big Chicken in May-retta

Georgia Bulldog Women's Softball Team Rocks!

Stop flirting, you flirter of the flirtatious, the flirter of the flirtorious! I am blushing.

Neither...I went to art school. Although I have never liked the Bulldogs...I've been bombarded with UGA my entire life and it kinda turned me against them.

Aren't you a friend of Lisa too?

Was. I defriended her over a year ago because every single posting was about Jesus. That the connection?

My ex's father played for the DAWGS and the family are good friends with Vince and Barbara Dooley so I spent my early married years living and breathing the DAWGS!

I live not-too-far from the big chicken....

Must be goat

#313...Wow...That's cool!

We were all friends with Lewis Grizzard (who is up in heaven riding Shetland ponies LOL).

I'm off. Good night

Dang....you know all the Georgia royalty....

I live not-too-far from the big chicken....

I lived in Kennesaw for 13 years just off Cobb Parkway. I used to love to hike Kennesaw mountain. I loved the history there.

My g'g'grandfather was in an Illinois regiment in the battle of Resaca. He got shot and lost a leg there.

Nothing like Hotlanta! Except Nashville where I grew up, of course.

I miss Nashville terribly!

We were all friends with Lewis Grizzard (who is up in heaven riding Shetland ponies

With his hound Catfish

Goat--did you have a nice Christmas? Were you on the rig?

Goat, I live in Smyrna....I was headed to Kennesaw mountain recently to burn up the film in an old Canon AE-1, but the weather turned on me. I'll have to try again soon....

#320
I thought I knew my civil war history, but I had never heard of the battle of Resaca. I know the ones in TN and of course Shiloh. Been there numerous times. My great great grandfather died from leg injury at the battle Stones River in TN. Civil War and WWII history was my ex's passion. And I am always on the look out for a civil war surgeon's kit.

The Middle is another repeat............Sux.........
.

Goat--did you have a nice Christmas? Were you on the rig?

Yes and yes. I do not like the holiday season, so the rig is a good escape from it. Plus the money is good and we got some cool gifts.n (iPad from the rig and leather jackets from the client) As usual, the meal was better than I would have gotten on shore: Whole roast pig, duck, leg of lamb, King crab legs, 4 kinds of shrimp, cheese table, etc. I'll be home next week.

Okey Dokey Goatman. Next Christmas you spend it here in the Panhandle with friends.

Lewis was funny as heck and I think was a real inspiration for Jeff Foxworthy. Both classic southern humorists. Lewis went to as many games as we did and sat with Barbara and all of us many a time. HE LOVED THE DAWGS!

#329
Cause we definitely know someone who can cook some amazing goat! She is all about goat meat, which I love too.

Lewis was funny...My dad loved him....

#327
The middle of what? Are the house ponies fighting over a bone?

She is all about goat meat, which I love too.

DAMN! LOL

If you can get him on audio, it is hilarious! And you can see a bit of Foxworthy in it.

The best way to cook goat is how I experienced it when we would go down to Mexico during excavation season. They dig a big pit (or have one concrete one that they use all the time). They build the fire down below and lower the goat down there to cook, covering the hole with tree limbs and let her go.

The Middle ABC Show. Meh.

JUST SAY NO TO GOAT.

#336. It's called cabrito. It's easy to find in restaurants in San Antonio. I make it about once a year at home with a whole kid goat

#334
Wait, lo que estas diciendo Willis? I mean the edible delicacy. LOL

but I had never heard of the battle of Resaca.

It was part of Sherman's march to the sea. After the battle of Resaca was the Battle of Kennesaw, then the Battle of Atlanta. I think Jonesboro was after that, IIRC

#337
Well are the beginning and the end shows repeats too?

Goat, I live in Smyrna....I was headed to Kennesaw mountain recently to burn up the film in an old Canon AE-1, but the weather turned on me. I'll have to try again soon....

I've hiked every trail there from Big Kenensaw to Cheatham. Great hikes and you can stills see evidence of the battle in the old trees and rocks if you know what to look for. The earthworks are obvious, of course.

Canon AE. I used to drool over that camera, but I was already heavily invested in Pentax stuff when it came out.

#341
The history just fascinates me. I did a huge paper on battlefield history for one of my undergraduate papers. I have a great collection of books on the medical aspects of the war period. It is amazing how much of our basic medical tools were developed then improved from war medics and surgeons in the field.

I need to clarify that I focused on Civil War period. Thank you for your patience.

WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam also play a huge part in medical advancements, particularly in emergency and trauma medicine. It is a really fascinating study.

#340. I can't help it...my mind is usually in the gutter. :D

#343. I'll have to wait until spring to go up there...I HATE the cold...I got the AE-1 from a friend for free after fixing his wife's computer. My main camera is a Nikon D200, but lately I've been shooting a lot of film. Mainly to get rid of it...most of it is expired.

#343
I loved going to Shiloh and the other battlefields I have been to because, if you go there during the same time of year that the battles were actually going on, you get a real feel for how it felt to be there then. I love Shiloh in early April. "The peach blossoms fell as the bullets hit the trees". Some peach trees are there, although I doubt they are the original ones.

Will. Not. Eat. Goat. Period. Shit not you Goatman but Goat meat. Wait. Never mind..

My main camera is a Nikon D200,

When I went digital, I went Canon. My Pentax 35mm stuff decorates the shelves now. I started with the Rebel, but now have the 50D as well as a nice assortment of lenses, three of the L series. Great stuff

Will. Not. Eat. Goat. Period.

Try the kid goat. Good stuff. The older animal is great curried. Curry was made for goat, IMO

#347
Shredder, my mind lives in the gutter, along with yours. I am sure we have shared the same notebook. You can't spend anytime in the military, emergency services, or medicine, without your mind being in there. LOL

#349. LOL!

#350. I have always been a Nikon...My first SLR (still have it and use it) is a Nikon EM. I've considered going Canon for a full frame DSLR...the Nikon full frames are sooooo expensive...but I haven't decided yet. Buying a whole new set of lenses doesn't appeal to me much.....

Kid goat, I agree. In the mountain villages of southern Mexico, of course, they will do either, unless it is a wedding, Quinceañera, or a big fiesta. The kid is reserved for those.

Goat + Curry = PUKE

Quinceanera I pasted and shouldn't have.

#352. I didn't join the military (wish I had after high school), but my dad was retired Air Force, so I grew up around all his buddies. That's where I get it, i'm sure.

Well F. Don't know what I did but I have split TV on 8 screens.

#355
Since you are not into the end or the beginning, we will save the middle just for you. MABL! But just for you, and Andrew Zimmerman.

#358
Is it painful? Try a mix of aspirin and a shot of Crown. LOL!

My Pentax KM is 36 YO and still works. I bought it at the Navy exchange in Yokosuka Japan in 1975.

I did a lot of research when I took the digital plunge a few years back. It was a toss up between Nikon and Canon for me. Nikon seemed to have a slightly better camera, but Canon seemed to have better lenses. The lens is the most important part of the camera, so I went with Canon. If you ever look at the cameras pros use at football/baseball games, most seem to have that easily recognizable white Canon L series stuff. That helped convince me.

The Pentax KM

I loved that fucking camera. It took thousands of shots my six years in the Navy in 33 different countries and 55 different ports. As I said, it still works. Fully manual, nothing automatic, though it did have a light meter you could see in the viewfinder.

#357
LOL. My Dad joined the army during Korea and was stationed in San Diego. They shipped out for Korea, and he spent the entire trip reading Jack Kerouac. The day they landed the peace treaty was signed. LOL! He ended up there for a bit as a court reporter and had a hot Geisha chic for his time there.

I notice a lot of professional photographers use Canon. I just naturally gravitated toward the Nikon because of past experience. I'm not one of those "Nikon is the best" types, tho. I think the Canon's are excellent cameras, too.

OK, someone just posted this bit of yummy goodness(NOT) recipe on my FB:
SPICY SQUIRREL MULLIGAN STEW
3 squirrels, quartered. 3 onions, chopped. 1 green pepper, chopped. 2 potatoes, cut into large pieces. 4 tablespoons chili pepper(optional) Salt and pepper. Dash Tabasco sauce. 1/4 cup chopped celery. 1 cup cooked rice.
Stew Squirrels in a little Water until tender. Remove meat from bones. Ploace meat back into liquid and bring to a boil. Add remaining ingredients except rice and cook 45 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Add rice and serve. Serves 6
Since I am food stocking, I shall save it in my recipe file just in case.

I always wanted a K1000. I guess I could get one now....you can get a film camera with 50mm lens for under $50 on ebay these days. Nobody wants them anymore.

I think it was Huckabee who ate squirrel on a hot plate in college?

#363. My dad joined just as Korea was ending. He was a tailgunner patrolling the border the last few months of the war. He said the MIGs would come up and "escort them". Then he did a tour in Vietnam, too. He never talked too much about Vietnam....

#361 | Posted by goatman

I had that same debate with myself and went with the Nikon. I eventually decided it was pretty much a Ford/Chevy thing.

Quantum leap from my original OM-1.

The OM-1 was an excellent camera, too. I guess I just like old cameras...

Quantum leap from my original OM-1.

LOL Same thing going from KM to Canon 50d. The KM I could focus, adjust shutter speed (1 sec to 1/1000) and aperture. Oh, yes, a 10 second timer. LOL But still, I loved that fucking camera to death.

I always wanted a K1000.

I have two that I bought used later. They are the same as the KM, but no time. I think that's the only difference.

You can get them on eBay, I'm sure. I've been looking to sell my whole kit (1 KM, 2 K1000s, and a few lenses) and I'd be lucky to get $300, so I decided to keep 'em.

My favorite lens of the Pentax is a fast f4 300 mm. I got it real cheap 30 years ago, but it was a screw mount, so I had to get the bayonet adapter.

"...could focus, adjust shutter speed (1 sec to 1/1000) and aperture."

Simpler times. Way more things to set wrong now. With the high resolution of digital these days I find myself developing a real bad habit of just taking a snapshot and looking for the actual picture with software later.

I'm working on breaking that.

I'm not one of those "Nikon is the best" types,

It's like redial said -- its the chevy/ford thing. Not being a pro, I'm sure there no one could tell a difference in my pictures if I used one or the other.

This is my favorite lens When I bought it new two years ago it was $1400. It became so popular that Canon couldn't keep up with it and as you can see, it goes for $2200 new now. I got lucky I bought it when I did.

I like the film cameras because they make me slow down and think about what i'm shooting. With the D200, I can shoot as many as the CF card will hold....just fire off 6-7 shots and you know you will get something you like. I still use the D200 90% of the time though...I love that f'n camera...

Simpler times. Way more things to set wrong now. With the high resolution of digital these days I find myself developing a real bad habit of just taking a snapshot and looking for the actual picture with software later

You bring up an intereting point. My dad and I were talking at Thanksgiving whether digital photography makes one a better or worse photographer. When I used 35mm I thought a lot more about the shot and composing it since it cost so much to process. Now I don't think so much about it and snap 10 exposures and choose the best one. In that respect, I DO get a better shot, but not because I used better skills.

Paradoxically, in the end, I think digital photography has made me a less skillful photographer, but I get better shots.

#375 -- you beat me with the same thought.

My next lens will be a macro lens. Deciding between a Nikon lens or the cheaper Tamron.

Paradoxically, in the end, I think digital photography has made me a less skillful photographer, but I get better shots.

Exactly....

My next lens will be a macro lens.

My first "macro" was my Pentax 28mm wide angle that I bought an adapter that you could screw in the filter thread and bayonet mount it backwards in the camera. It actually worked real well.

"In that respect, I DO get a better shot, but not because I used better skills.'

I don't know if you're being fair to yourself; doesn't "better skills" include using the tools optimally?

I certainly see and agree with the overall point: we're much less selective due to the precipitous drop in the cost. But in the aggregate, you've used that to increase the final quality...and isn't that the goal, regardless how we get there?

I Have used the reverse ring with my EM...It does work pretty well. My other option is using bellows with my existing lenses, but it's pretty bulky when in use. They are fairly inexpensive though...

good point....

and isn't that the goal, regardless how we get there?

That was a point my dad brought up, too. Funny, we must've talked 30-40 minutes on this exact thing last Thanksgiving.

Yes, I do get better shots now, but if I went back to my 35mm, I don't think I would be as good with it as I used to be.

I remember my grandmother telling me that she used to bake in a wood stove when she was young. She said she was good at it. But she said if she had to go back to using it again after using an electric range for 30 years, she would be unable to make good biscuits in it like she used to.

Same thing with the cameras, I guess

"Paradoxically, in the end, I think digital photography has made me a less skillful photographer, but I get better shots."

My problem is I like buying gear so I have more stuff than I have learned how to use properly.

I got my ass kicked at a photo vacation/workshop a few years ago when I brought 50 pounds of stuff with me. They had lots of interesting assignments do do, the only caveat being (I found out later) you had to use everything in your bag for each one of them.

I pack much lighter now.

All I need in my digital is to be able to shoot tags of VIN numbers and serial numbers off appliances.

Oh--and if I can't get on a roof but can still see it from the ground--love the zoom to count missing roof shingles or tiles.

Redial,
I would just bring the disposable camera from now on...

"I would just bring the disposable camera from now on..."

Hehe... many times I just use the BlackBerry.

I'm guilty of that as well. I have one nice walk around zoom (24-70mm f2.8) but when I am on a driving picture expedition, I take it all.

I don't know goat..Good photography is produced by the photographer. The camera is just the tool you use to get the shot. When I shoot film, the main difference is I know it's going to cost me 25 cents to trip the shutter and there are only 24 shots in the camera. Exposure triangle, rule of thirds, composition, etc. is still all the same.

I use the iPhone a lot....

Sounds like we have the same stuff with different logos.

Exposure triangle, rule of thirds, composition, etc. is still all the same.

Some of the equipment does away with some rules. That 70-200mm zoom I have is IS. Used to the rule of thumb was don't handhold anything with a slower shutter speed than the reciprocal of the focal length. The IS on the Canon allows handheld at 3 shutter stops slower. I love that. No more tripod just to use telephoto with IS.

Philistine. :-)

But the basics remain the same. You should try it just for the fun of it...Walgreen's often has film on sale. They even have their own brand. $11 to process 24 exposures. Don't go to CVS, tho. Their prints are inkjet printouts. Walgreen's still processes on photo paper.

Same gear, methinks. Gets heavy, don't it?

Damn. Nice lenses. You guys have me beat.

Wow. They are the same. Don't you just love the faster lenses? They're worth the extra $$$ IMO.

I had a close lens (24-85mm, I think) that was f3.5-4.5. It just didn't do the bokeh for me. I sold it and bought the f2.8. It was many hundreds more, but I have no regrets at all.

"You should try it just for the fun of it...Walgreen's often has film on sale."

You can simulate that by taking a single 512 MB CF card. The huge advantage of digital is being able to see all the shot info for the one that "almost" worked and know better next time. That, and knowing you have something that worked when you are somewhere you won't be again anytime soon.

#398 Another identical spec to mine I linked to in #374. That's by far my favorite lens.

BTW, I bought the canon 50d instead of some others I was considering because it has a feature that you can do a one time fine focus on each lens in 40 micro increments and it remembers that lens and adjjusts for it when you put it on the camera. Most of my lenses needed between 2 and 5 units (whatever the units are) of adjustment. My 70-200mm needed 16! I knew it was off when I used it on my Rebel and was going to send it in until I saw the 50D I was considering had this feature. So now it is spot on with focus, as are all my lenses.

"Don't you just love the faster lenses?"

Yup. I don't use 2.8 much anyway, but they are way sharper stopped down a bit. Bokeh was a big seller on the 70-200, I think it has a 9-leaf aperture rather than Nikon's usual 7 so the background softens up nicely.

The huge advantage of digital is being able to see all the shot info for the one that "almost" worked and know better next time.

I also love the color and exposure histograms. It took a bit to learn to read and master them, but they are a great asset to digital photography that 35mm cameras don't have.

I don't mean to use it at your kid's wedding or anything like that. Just as a photo project or something. I recently went to Tampa for the weekend and just took the AE-1. I got some good shots and I got some bad shots. I knew that was the risk, but I'm fine with what I got. If I was going to Paris, I wouldn't even consider taking a film camera.

Naw... we're just overpaid, earth-raping hydrocarbon exploiters.

Histograms are very helpful.

LOL I am literally 20 feet from spinning drill pipe right now baby sitting a toolpusher who is freaking out because the pipe handler might not work. And they are using it once every 1.5-2 hours when they put another stand in.

So here I am talking about cameras.

Naw... we're just overpaid, earth-raping hydrocarbon exploiters. with nice f'n camera gear....

Another thing I love about digital that can be done wtih the camera or PC is the filter effect for B&W. I grew up with B&W since I had my own darkroom in the garage when I was a teenager, then later a rigged up on on my Navy ship. I love that I can just dial one up in the camera and not have to carry them around and screw them in.

nite, folks. I'm off to dream about $2000 lenses.

I tried the home darkroom thing once... almost asphyxiated myself and a few friends.

Reading is fundamental, they say.

Me also off... need to make wings for work in the am.

I tried the home darkroom thing once... almost asphyxiated myself and a few friends.

It's fun.

Now that is something that improves photo skills -- shooting B&W. No doubt I am a better photographer because of that. I grew to love B&W, especially for portraits.

Here's one of my favorite portraits of my granddaughter. I combined the B&W with another one of my favorite styles: backlighting.

Way better dynamic range with B&W for sure.

FIRST!

oops. Wrong 12:00

Hehe... how long to the next steel change?

It's 12:00 somewhere.

Composition counts. Number one thing, no? Hard to perfect composition. Fun to try.

Ooops. left some shit out of that last post.

Late night. Lot of late nights at the year's end.

Well I'll be darned. I knew it could happen 422 posts and almost NOT ugly vulgar insults. Job well done. Thank you Lisa!!
