In order for him to have a mobile version, RCADE would have to stand up a mobile server. More costs. Then he would have to create the app, which isnt that difficult, but the upkeep and updates..more costs. I have been a member of this site for many years and I have never seen an update. I had emailed RCade last year, I had an Android app and RESTFUL server, but I never heard back from him. The server would scrape pages every minute, and parse the current HTML and created a separate database that you could then query. The mobile app would then display based upon threads you were interested in. You could make entries. There were more sophisticated things you could do with the DB, but never got around to it. I was especially interested in posting times, and user statistics. Running posters posts through grammar grade level evaluation software, that sort of thing.

But I didn't want to release this without his permission, since it didn't have any ads. Since then I have moved on, the server is no longer. I could reconstruct this it might take a few months, but I have a few things that are higher priority, school is starting again.

It runs fine on our iPod Touch and my wife's Android, but finding the sweetspot where the text is big enough to read but I don't have to keep side-scrolling is a real pain in the ass. That's all.

iPhone apps are not formatted for iPad. I downloaded the instant watcher app and it doesn't work right. Same with a Simpsons iPhone game I downloaded.

I would comment via Android. The weird bugs I get with Dolphin browser and the comment window are downright infuriating...and I still use it to post now and then. An app would be outstanding.

I'm with Tosser. This site is really easy to navigate from my droid sans app. It was even manageable when I was using my old blackberry. If anything I'd separate the headlines on the front page from the links to other blogs and news sites. I don't even look at the list of people making comments recently anymore, I just read the comments page from the bottom up.

I agree, I use my droid once in a while but it is so obtrusive using the comment screen with log in mini scroll and password then search for the comment screen again.

I'm on an el cheapo cellphone 99% of the time I'm here so an app would be useless to me but I wish I could read and respond to threads with more than 70 comments

Works fine on my PlayBook, other than I have to zoom pretty close to hit some links once in a while.
