As usual, those who pretend to want freedom are the ones most likely to oppress others.

Surprise, surprise, another gay Diablo thread.

Looks like he should easily win the lawsuit since he wasn't directly attacking anyone - but only answering a direct question.

The Thomas More Law Center

Ah, one of my favorite cesspools of fundamentalist dumbfuckery.

They certainly do love taking up the futile struggles of superstitious morons.

Frankly, as much as I don't like most of what the ACLU does, I'm surprised they haven't jumped in on the side of the student who was clearly exercising his right to free speech.

Sounds like the kid was treated unfairly by the gay teacher. If the guy is going to take such offense to people disagreeing with his sexuality then why solicit the opinion in the first place?

Having said that, the people who are rallying behind this kid are obvious shitbirds who are trying to use him to further their own bigoted agenda.

I don't blame the kid and his family though. Our legal system is set up so that you need money to get justice. If the only way they can fight for their rights is take money from slimy anti-gay groups, then they should do so. After all, the teacher is clearly in the wrong but that would not stop all these gay organizations from backing him in the lawsuit.

"Frankly, as much as I don't like most of what the ACLU does, I'm surprised they haven't jumped in on the side of the student who was clearly exercising his right to free speech."

Its not even free speech. He was asked a question by his teacher and was punished for answering it. The teacher clearly has issues and shouldn't be teaching private school. At the very least, he should be banned form discussing the topic.

I'm sure glad the writers of this piece are unbiased when it comes to this topic. They sure sell their point really well by meeting the intolerance of the teacher with rhetoric and reportage empty of bias.

Shitbirds? That's putting it lightly. These people are part of a nauseating social malignancy - one that must be stripped of all influence and exposed as the worthless tumor that it is.

Fortunately, that process has been underway for quite some time. Religiosity is declining, and religion is rapidly losing its influence over public policy. The progress made in the last century shows no signs of stopping.

"Shitbirds? That's putting it lightly. These people are part of a nauseating social malignancy - one that must be stripped of all influence and exposed as the worthless tumor that it is."

The teacher and the school are opposite sides of the same coin. The thought police are much more dangerous than the religious kooks precisely because the religious kooks' influence is on the decline while the thought police are still ascending.

The supposedely reputable civil rights groups that got behind this teacher and his petty actions are only proving that people who promote rights for only one segment of the population usually care less about civil rights than they do about advancing one group of people even if at the expense of others.

Hey, Prag...all this in an ECONOMICS class? I said to you before that there is much, much indoctrination taling place in our school systems. You may want to play the "I haven't kept up with it.." tape again, but it isn't just the homosexuality issue, it's the complete PC and "progressive" agenda and THIS event is not an isolated incident in our schools!

"The incident occurred on October 20, 2010, the day that Daniel's Economics class teacher, Jay McDowell, wore a purple "Tyler's Army" t-shirt, as part of a national campaign promoted by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation to highlight alleged "bullying" of homosexuals.

Rather than teach academic courses that day, McDowell decided to spend the entire day promoting this national pro-homosexual agenda, which included showing his classes a video concerning such "bullying."

Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of TMLC, commented: "Rather than teach the required Economics curriculum for which he is paid, McDowell, with the full knowledge of school officials,..."

ANOTHER form of "over the top..."

"The incident all started when McDowell ordered a student in his classroom to remove her confederate flag belt buckle"

This fuckin' idiot, "...head of the school's teachers union. The Michigan Education Association, the state teachers' union, supported McDowell's actions."...is supported by your beloved teachers' union in Michigan too. Can you maybe just BEGIN to understand the angst some of us are experiencing?

The term "alleged 'bullying,'" particularly the use of quotes around "bullying," made me question the impartiality of this article.

Then I got to this line:

Rather than teach academic courses that day, McDowell decided to spend the entire day promoting this national pro-homosexual agenda, which included showing his classes a video concerning such "bullying."

And then I stopped reading. Any time someone drops the word "agenda" with "homosexual," I give up on them. Same with "indoctrination."

Boo!

I hope he wins.

It's extremely simple: the kid was mistreated by the teacher and the school. He was asked a question, he answered it, and was punished. Shame on the ACLU for not offering this child all the help he needs to make them pay for what they did. It wasn't even like the kid stood up and denounced the teacher for shits and giggles, he was ASKED. He was given the floor, and when the teacher did not like what he said, he decided to "get" the kid.

10--Check this out: I think the teacher and the school are wrong. Blows your fuckin' mind, eh? I posted what I did because it's true: The article is a poorly written, blatantly inept, failed attempt at journalism.

If the exchange happened as reported, the teacher and the school should absolutely get a big fact smackdown, by whatever legal means necessary. Litigation is unfortunate because it's bad for everyone, but if that's the only recourse, I get it.

I was going to post quotes, contributing to it's repetition.. [shiver] Designed, quite visibly.

There are emotional damages? There are plenty of students who could confirm the character of this person, better determining how much he should have contributed to dismissal. Me thinks the ladyboy doth protest too much..

Until we know what Daniel's and his friend's response was and how McDowell came to his conclusion that they deserved banishment from the room, we don't know really know much whatsoever.

"These people are part of a nauseating social malignancy - one that must be stripped of all influence and exposed as the worthless tumor that it is."

Translation: dr. likesdick believes that students can be banned from a classroom and harassed, renounced on national television and stigmatized if they do not agree with dr. likedick's views of society.

"The article is a poorly written, blatantly inept, failed attempt at journalism."

Now Prag is a judge of "good journalism?" I thought it was to reveal the "who, what, why, when and where" of an issue. This article did that pretty well. Yes, it could have omitted the statement of opinion that the teacher was a bully (even though he WAS a bully) but it did accomplish providing the pertinent information.

"If the exchange happened as reported,..."

I know, it has to be suspect because it hasn't shown up in HuffPo, the New York Times or Media Matters...right?
