Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

After being criticized over his $10,000 bet offer and by Newt Gingrich for his work at Bain Capital, Mitt Romney has responded by pointing out Gingrich's own vast wealth. "Newt Gingrich has wealth from having worked in government," Romney said. "He's a wealthy man, a very wealthy man. If you have a half a million dollar purchase from Tiffany's, you're not a middle class American."

Huge Pot/Tiny Kettle.

The Republican candidates fiddle while Rome burns. How the hell does something as trivial as this supersede discussions of policy? War with Iran? Sure! Battlefield USA? OK! But a stupid slipup in a debate, blown out of context? Front page headline for a week?!

How the hell does something as trivial as this supersede discussions of policy?

Not much of a stretch for trivial people, my friend.

If Mitt is sensitive about his wealth, he can give that away tomorrow. The taxpayers of America provide a good salary for any president.

That would be going much to far to be seen as an ordinary guy, wouldn't it?

"Mitt Romney: Gingrich a "Very Wealthy" Man"

He'd better be, because his campaign is broke.

Let's not forget that poor old Mitt is unemployed too.

He was so hard up he had to move into his son's basement, poor bastard.

Is Newt engaging in a little Republican-on-Republican Class Warfare?

*Newt, should read 'Willard'

#7. true that. odd. you'd think repubs would be more comfortable the richer the candidate.

Mitt was CEO of one of the best companies on Earth. That's where he was paid. Newt was a former history prof who earned his money from trading his influence as a public servant. That's the difference.

Mitt was CEO of one of the best companies on Earth.

Bain used to buy struggling companies, use their assets as collateral for huge loans, then use that money to pay themselves and their investors, primarily Goldman Sachs, huge dividends, then file for bankruptcy.

If you wanna see how it works, watch "Goodfellas". At least Bain didn't torch the industry later, though I heard Darryl Issa was willing to assist.

#11 Then the voters will have to decide whether they want a man who took that position as CEO of Bain becoming the "CEO" of America.

CEO/Community Organizer... hmmmm... what to choose, what to choose...

CEO/Community Organizer

I believe the choice is actually:

CEO of a sleazy Wall Street firm / Senator, then President.

Why would you want a CEO to run the country? We had one run it into the ground before the current president.

Corporations can't print their own money and field an army (yet). Corporations are required to make a profit even if that means hurting people if they can get away with it while governments are required to provide security for their citizens without making one. Corporations think to the next quarter and governments should be thinking on 10/20/50/100+ year time scales. CEO's don't have the attention span to run a government and tend to be sociopaths more often than not.

Corporations can't print their own money and field an army (yet).

I have been trying for 5 months now to write a parody of the Doobie Brother's "Black Water" and it is im-fucking-possible! The company is so evil that listing their deeds in prose is not funny at all, but it is such the perfect song to do.

"Oh Blackwater
Keep on killing
Mississippi fools gonna keep on paying the bill"

I started it off with

"Well I built me a bomb and she's ready for dropping
Oh Saddam Hussain, you were so much fun
Iraiqs are fighting
And that means there's money
Gonna keep on dropping
A few more bombs today"

Ever hear of Blackwater?

Yes, while they have mercenaries, they haven't been organized to defend Blackwater as a legitimate political entity have they?

.... The Sweet Taste of SUCKcess?

**** Newt Gingrich may be a WHORE...but he's a "High Class" WHORE owing to the fact that all the generous JOHNS he Fellated were exclsuively Millionaires & Billionaires$$$
