Poles... under authoritarian rule, they were communist and a Soviet satellite state.

The political game is a crazy one. Given economic problems, etc., the U.S. would probably cut aid to Pakistan if it weren't for fears about nuclear security. That gives a lot of people (in both countries) incentives for fearmongering.

Many of us wish the US "aid" stops. Despite the fact the "aid" is mostly money they owe us from CSF (coalition support funds) for the money we spent on their behalf fighting the taliban and al-Qaeda.... cost of fuel, etc.

What is the worst that is going to happen? The Govt will collapse? GREAT!

That is exactly what we want.

For many many important people here, there is zero incentive to cooperate with the US.
