As far as bad presidents go, look at Wilson and FDR, they both put thousands of American citizens in concentration camps, Wilson being the more insidious. It's more than bad taste because of the "reason" for not doing it, "tempting as it may be". Reason for NOT doing it was that they needed him to go down as the worst pres in history. Not that shooting someone is a bad thing. You may not see the difference, but most everyone else does.
