Before NATO and the U.S. started bombing Libya, the United Nations was preparing to bestow an award on Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, and the Libyan Jamahiriya, for its achievements in the area of human rights.

Strike 1

No wonder they game Obama the Nobel Peace Prize... this is the bizarre-O backwards world. Right is left, up is down, good is bad... (yes, seinfeld reference).

game = gave (but in the backwards bizarr-O world it can be whatever I want it to be.

and by "they" I mean the Nobel council, not the UN (just in case you are a complete moron [see #3])

Interesting but do you think it would have really passed? Looks like the United States had a few objections and recommendations.

The United States of America supported the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya’s increased engagement with the international community. It called on the country to comply with its human rights treaty obligations. It expressed concern about reports of the torture of prisoners and about the status of freedom of expression and association, including in its legislation, which often resulted in the arrest of people for political reasons. The United States made recommendations.

France had a few recommendations

France referred to the situation of refugees; allegations concerning arbitrary detention, torture, ill treatment and enforced disappearance; the death penalty, which remained in force for a large number of crimes; the absence of non-governmental organizations with expertise in the field of human rights; and the severe restrictions on freedom of expression and association. France made recommendations.

Britain made recommendations

Israel made recommendations

Turkey had a few recommendations

Belarus made recommendations.

Yemen made a recommendation

In fact, almost every country in the Free World made recommendations.

Yeah I bet that almost passed....NOT.

Now they can just get the engraver to stencil in the top people of the new Al Queda government of Libya instead. That is, after they're done slaughtering everyone who helped administer the former regime. Should cost about 50 bucks or so.

Oooooooh and it looks like, yes, it went foul. That's strike 2, no balls.

=P

Oh god I wish they had given him the award in time. Then the headline could be "Peace Prize President Bombs Human Rights Leader." Guess I'll just have to settle with the "...Wages Illegal War"

Or the left's headline of "Saves Humanity, Vanquishes Evil Incarnate"
