New records make clear that Mitt Romney is much wealthier than President Barack Obama or any of Romney's GOP opponents in the 2012 presidential race. Romney has amassed personal wealth up to $250 million running a Boston venture capital firm and managing his own personal investments.

He made his money the old fashioned way, he fired people and outsourced jobs. Now with unemployment high he's going to come save us? Riiiight. It was sort of funny during the debate though, Rick Santorum actually spoke about outsourcing and made sense, more than any of the other people on that stage which was quite a surprise.

What about the poor people starving in Africa?

Has any of that money gone into CARE packages?

Nothing is as stupid as voting for millionaires and billionaires to run for Office.

All their policies are send your money overseas while they stab you in the back and raise your taxes. Of course comrades, we mean raising the taxes on the poor not the rich.

Of course comrades, we mean raising your taxes in stealth and secret ways by costing you more for food and gas.

People do not get that much money by providing a service to the economy. They get it by working the underclass, who are not WASPs or Jews, to death.

Yeah comrades! Take it from one who is still lucky to be alive in the USA after working through 50 years of hell in the USA. And I might add, working at the dirty and filthy jobs.

So guess who I'm going to vote for. Well, I'm not going to vote for the candidates of the "rich" businessmen, farmers, and ranchers. I'm not going to vote for the maniacs who go to the football fields to watch the millionaires play.

I'm going to vote Communist, Socialist, or Democrat in that order.

So............... What's your point?

Once again the wealth envy crowd outs themselves. Must have terrible lives to spend so much time worried about what someone else has.

When your candidate has nothing but the economic devastation of the Americna economy to run on......

Attack, attack, attack. What else can you do?

Sure it's starting out weak, but just wait, the propaganda blitz is just getting started!

Vote For Smaller Government.

what would jesus do with all that money. or should i say joeseph smith.

If you vote Republican you are voting for shitty health care for the majority of Americans, legislation that favors corporations, cronyism and sundry other policies that favor people not like you. As W so memorably put it, "This is an impressive crowd, the haves and the have-mores. Some people call you the elite, I call you my base."

You may, as a working American, get to pay a bit less in federal taxes but the federal, state and local governments along with corporations will find creative ways like increased sales taxes, property taxes, licensing fees, increased health care costs, bank and service charges etc. to wipe that out pretty damn quick.

You will get to feel superior to gays, women, people of a different skin color and foreigners though. With a bit of luck there may be a military incursion abroad somewhere to flag-wave for but that's by no means certain, though a vote for Perry will, in true Texas style, increase your chances of that.

If all this sits well with you, you are independently wealthy or are unduly worried about Wars on Christmas and the like you should certainly vote Republican. Otherwise....

So brk, if you voted for lbj and his 'war on poverty' there shouldn't be any poverty here in the US. We have been fighting that war for around 40 years now. Seems like you don't always get what you vote for even if your man wins.

This guy isn't so much a Wall Street shill, because he is Wall Street. He made his money by buying companies, firing their employees in order to pump up their balance sheets, and then quickly reselling them. The target companies immediate sales and back orders wouldn't change, just their payroll costs. Alas the companies could no longer perform, so half declared bankruptcy after being resold.

Running a company through good times and bad is difficult. Romney never did this. All he did was flip them and in the process destroyed half of them. Didn't matter to him, because he pocketed hundreds of millions in the process. That is the essence of Wall Street ethics. Meanwhile Rethuglicans continue to repeat the propaganda that Wall Street creates jobs. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Sniper,

The War on Poverty is a dumb slogan, just like the War on Drugs and the War on Terror. You cannot have a direct war with abstractions, rather you should identify them for what they are and build policies based on generally agreed upon American values and freedoms that will hopefully keep the problems from becoming chronic. As it is, all three have become chronic problems because the "wars" on them are only unreal constructions that sound good and are favored by politicians trying to get people to vote for them. They have all created huge entrenched public and government-funded private bureaucracies achieving little or nothing at vast expense except chasing their own, and sometimes each other's, tails.

So LBJ and Clinton were Democrats while Nixon, Reagan and both Bushes were Republicans. This kind of politicking transcends party lines and will continue until we start voting for real solutions to real problems in the real world.

Romney Wealthiest Presidential Hopeful

No shit.
And, barring a Bloomberg run, he will continue to be.
