No, he rolls out segments as if they're subtle that actually have all the subtlety of a 12 gauge slug to the gut. Stupid people think they're intelligent because they "get" it. Colbert was never as funny as Stewart, but because he makes people feel smug he's wildly more popular.

I mean I liked the Colbert Report for the first coupla months it was on, but then got tired of the one-dimensional nature of the schtick. I got the feeling guests were being coached to play along. The Daily Show stayed fresh for me a lot longer, but of late Stewart's been calling himself a comedian while talking exactly like any other pundit. The laugh track got obnoxious, so I stopped watching that many moons ago as well.
