Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Under a new law proposed by Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), John Cornyn (R-Texas) and Christopher Coons (D-Del.), people who embed a YouTube video that infringes copyright and receive 10 or more viewers could face five years in jail. "This is, of course, ridiculous, and suggests (yet again) politicians who are regulating a technology they simply do not understand," writes Mike Masnick of TechDirt.

THIS will reduce the deficit!

TO THE INTERNETS!!

I feel this would be between Youtube (who provides the code to allow the embedding) and groups like ASCAP whose job it is to enforce copyrights.

They just want to create a legal way for them to harass anyone who posts an embarassing video of a senator.

Only Americans will go to jail.

I will be able to embed whatever whenever wherever.

And just wait till they figure out how to use this one on embedded video of police brutality.

Send me your video and I will embed it... outside the jurisdiction of US law.

For a price, of course.

10 dollars per MB.

How do you go about embedding a video at the beginning of one of your DR "blog entries"? I don't see any instructions. You're given an option to add a "poll" on to your blog entry but not to embed a video. Anyone?

Youtube (who provides the code to allow the embedding)

Okay, guess I should have read further upthread before posting my question.

10 dollars per MB.

Please send to me your bank account number, information, and a 500 dollar prosessing fee and I will ensure that you have several gigabyte of business for the stated price of 10 dollars / megabyte.

Yours Sinserely,
Dr. Nyiragongo, Fourth National Bank of the Democratic Republic of the Congo

Fuck bank account number, fuck information and fuck your processing fee.

I take Bitcoins only.

And fuck Congo too.

"This is, of course, ridiculous, and suggests (yet again) politicians who are regulating a technology they simply do not understand,"

Or perhapse they do understand it enough to use it to further regulate people into slavery. Like describing my thread here:
www.drudge.com/..Incremental Faschism? The New Rules Really Suck .

And fuck Congo too.

Be sure to use protections, sir. We have many AIDS here.

Yours Sinserely,
Dr. Nyiragongo, Fourth National Bank of the Democratic Republic of the Congo

And fuck Congo too.

Racist.

Racist.

Sez you.

This is a cluster fuck waiting to happen. Anyone can see that.

let's see if I have this "bill" figured out?

If I owned a blank white wall, adjacent to a major inner-city highway artery...I provide scaffolding and safety harnesses, proper lighting for 24 hour access and all the material and media e.g. markers, paint, chalk, crayons, etc. to project any and all types of "art"; imagination ad infinitum. I could be indicted, held and prosecuted for executing those unalienable rights that shall not be infringed upon and guaranteed to me, as a US Citizen, in the Preamble of our US Constitution?

Um...no.

This bill says if you don't own the rights to a video, you don't have the right to post it without the rights-holder's permission.

What don't you understand?

This bill says if you don't own the rights to a video, you don't have the right to post it without the rights-holder's permission.

On the internet, you don't have any rights.

You don't deserve any rights.

Guess some people still want to learn that the hard way.

Cadenhead - Teach Yourself Java 6 in 21 Days (Sams, 2007).pdf 5.5 MB

See? An example.

I won't tell you where it is, but it's there online... free for the taking.

If you can't stop it, there is no use crying about it. In fact, join in.

If I want to do anything to a video or music, I will do so. Nobody is going to stop me. American copyright laws are only for Americans. LOL

I will be able to embed whatever whenever wherever.

al-qaeda, anyone?

ethics never was your forte.

Is it yours?

Doubt it.

The internet is part of a post-ethics world. The sooner you get it, the less pain you'll have to go through later.

al-qaeda, anyone?

No.. honest piracy.

Typical! Two dumbass democRATs and one idiot Texan.

Execute them.
