Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty declared his candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination in a web video Sunday night. "I could promise that we can eliminate a $14 trillion debt, create jobs for 10 million people, restructure Social Security and health care all without making any tough decisions. Or I could try something different: I could just tell you the truth," he said. "The truth is: Our country is in big trouble."

"I could just tell you the truth,"

I like pedophiles.

This guy will be out of the race before Newt Gingrich is. What a joke, why did he think he had a chance?

Pawlenty's Pardongate

Timmy-you know you're in trouble when your GOPper predecessor calls you a lying sack of shit.

On the bright side, the Donald is making a come-back. Apparently he's got evidence Obama kidnapped the Lindbergh baby.

Pawlenty? Isn't that the groundhog that comes out on February 2 each year to tell us if winter is over yet?

Pawlenty-meet toilet bowl. Start circling.

It just keeps getting better and better:

The loftiest trial balloon yet from Rudy Giuliani's camp was hoisted up on Monday night by Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., who told reporters that the former New York mayor and 2008 candidate was leaning toward mounting a run.

A 2008 Giuliani aide told Power Play that key members of the old team are "staying loose" in anticipation of a potential run. He said the exploration seemed to have entered "a different phase" and that Giuliani had grown increasingly serious as the Republican field took shape.

"You can't look at the Republican field and say that there isn't room," the former aide said.

King, a longtime ally of Giuliani and a former surrogate on terrorism and security issues, floated the Rudy run at a Washington media dinner hosted by conservative magazine the American Spectator. It's the latest and greatest sign from a slow-developing effort from Giuliani's inner circle.

Pawlenty's hometown newspaper ran the announcement on the obituary page.

man...i know things stink when the only option democrats have is to stick with the same jackass...but fuck me runnin'. If I had to decide which republican to vote for out of the current field, I think I'd rather stab myself in the face.

Pawlenty's predecessor and one-time supporter, Gov. Arne Carlson, isn't snoozing on this. He's already up with a piece ripping his one-time friend to shreds:

"One thing is certain about Monday's Presidential announcement by former Governor Tim Pawlenty: he will not bring up the fact that he presided over one of the larger tax increases in Minnesota's history. Yes, that is quite correct.
During his two terms as Governor, property taxes rose a stunning $2.5 billion – more than the previous 16 years combined...

...from 2003 to today, Minnesota has been rolling from deficit to deficit and in spite of warnings from Moody's concerning the folly of short-term fixes, Governor Pawlenty continued to achieve budget balance by employing the following:

➢ Borrowing over $1 billion from the tobacco settlement – money designated for health care.
➢ Taking over $2 billion from the federal stimulus funds.
➢ Borrowing over $1.4 billion from K-12 education funding.
➢ Borrowing over $400 million from the Healthcare Access Fund for low-income families.
➢ Accelerating tax payments.
➢ Delaying bill payments.
➢ Engaging in accounting shifts.

In the process, Moody's lowered Minnesota's bond rating.

And, much of this activity preceded the recession of 2007 and no borrowed monies have been paid back thereby leaving Minnesota with a $5.1 billion deficit – the 7th most severe in the United States."

I'm waiting for some bagger to show up and tell us the left is cared of Pedoplenty.

Northguy, Danni, Corky and Montequeer...all lathered up over another GOP candidate. Man, you all must be shitting in your pants with the boy-wonder looking like a complete incompetent douche over in the U.K. The Repubs could run my dead grandmother and still beat Obeezy. You guys don't have a prayer. Lib Doomsday: November 6, 2012

I wonder what happens when this story comes out
Tim Pawlenty wiped a serial child molester's record clean in 2008

the boy-wonder looking like a complete incompetent douche over in the U.K.
They seem, like the Irish, to love him.

The Repubs could run my dead grandmother and still beat Obeezy. You guys don't have a prayer.

Maybe they should. She can't be any worse than the best and the brightest they got running right now.

Hell-she and Reagan could run on the same ticket- "We're no Medicare Mooches or SS Suckers!"

Crickets chirping

T-paw?

T-Paw wants to build a bridge to America's future.

Meh, sure Spud may laugh at him now but after six months of Charisma lessons from Joe Lieberman and Al Gore the guy's gonna be unstoppable!

/Weapons grade snark, yes.

Be Well.

Sorry, Pawlenty. America needs a guy who sends a "thrill up their leg" to be their President, and you are not that guy.

Joe's not big on inspiring presidencies.

It is tough to be a progressive in MN now. From the land that gave the country Hubert Humphrey and Walter Mondale we suffered through Jesse Ventura and then 8 years of T Pawlenty. Throw in Bachman for our very conservative district.
#10 lists some of his accounting games. The money 'borrowed' from the local school districts is not going to be paid. Property taxes have doubled or more in many locations due to the state not paying its obligations.
On an upnote, his wife is a knockout and a really good person.

Care to put money on that?

"Care to put money on that?"

You plan on being the first lib to break the trend of welshing on bets here? My money is on you being like the other cowards here and running as far away as possible if a wager is accepted...

Would you like to make that bet, CoCo?

Care to put money on that?

Abso-fucking-lutely.

"Would you like to make that bet, CoCo?"

As you know Monte I have accepted multiple wagers and every lib like yourself has proven to be a coward and ran away. I think it is up to you to represent the libs here and prove you can or will break that trend. Nothing you have ever written can be used as proof you would. Hell, I doubt you can scrape up $10.00 without asking your wife for permission. Get her on here to back you up, and maybe then we can talk...
