Kicking off what promises to be a politically perilous process, the House ethics committee on Thursday officially lodged 13 different charges against Rep. Charles B. Rangel (D-N.Y.), including that he used his office to raise more than $8 million for a college public policy center named after him.

Anyone noticed that first John Kerry got swift boated and now he got luxury boated.

.......time for Rangel to go.......

.....it's been a slice, but, you've been caught with your hands in the cookie jar.....so retire now, while you may have a shred of dignity left......

It's time to mandate citizen legislators and make it illegal to become a career politician in America.

Like in Rome, its the politicians who are destroying the country from within.

I wonder if he is even upset at himself. My guess is that he is upset with his collegues who have gone after him.

He probably thinks he is a victim.

Maybe that would fly back before the dark ages but it doesn't work in the modern world.

All this would do is add more confusion to the political process like term limits do.

He can always do Cartoon Voices when he's kicked out. I miss Fat Albert.

Term limits add no confusion.

Can I run again?

How many times have you served?

2.

Then no.

Pretty clear.

This has got to be bad for the Dems to let this go to the level. C.R. is the most influential of the Harlem crowd. Unless Barry is trying to drain the swamp.

He's still popular.

Time to say good bye, Charlie. Thanks and so long Mr. Rangel.

Didnt repubs play the old "term limit" bait n switch on the country before?

Are you so young that you dont remember, Kan?

Sadly ironic that Charlie Rangel got into the House by defeating Adam Clayton Powell, another casualty of hubris.

Drain the swamp Nancy! Where is Sharpton and Jessie?

I feel bad for him. He's holding on to the last shred. It's pathetic.

Term limit poster child

21 terms.

Still, good news beckons. First, he'll probably win re-election anyway, because he's black. Second, he's a shoo-in for a high position at Treasury, for his tax evasion.

It's nice to have those kinds of options.

First, he'll probably win re-election anyway, because he's black.

The dems know this and they are trying to avoid the embarrasment.

I'm getting tired of everyone talking about his military service including him like it is an excuse for his breaking of the law.

Haven't you sucked enough blood from the U.S. taxpayers Charlie?

Do us all a favor and just kill yourself - or simply die.

Charley Rangel (D-N.Y.) would make the ideal poster-boy for how America is being destroyed from within.

Why are they now trying to punish him for typical dem behavior?

They should punish him for acting too republican. He should just switch parties and then this would be no big deal.

It's quite lengthy.

Hmm.

The korean war ended how many years ago? Seems to me it was back in the early 50s but I guess we'll have to call on dok and his 'way back' machine for that one.

"The korean(sic) war ended how many years ago?"

Technically they're still at war.

The armistice was in 1953.

STILL WAITING FOR APOLOGY ZAT

TWO HUNDRED MILLION dollars..

Say what you will about me but "they" ruin everything over which "they" are in a position of power. The capital city of my state looks worse than most third world citys.

i will not forget this asshole railing against those who got bonuses and calling for 100% retroactive taxes against them. turns out he's nothing but a tax cheat. what a fucker.

......don't worry.....soon, the rest of the state will deteriorate to match the capital........

.....that's been the plan all along.......just keep some gated communities for the oligarchy, and let the rest live in barrios.....

.....but the responsibility for our decline rests squarely with the Republican mythology that investing in our infrastructure is somehow a "tax & spend" nighmare......well if you don't keep investing in the infrastructure, pretty soon the whole thing falls apart.......

report out now that they will give him a reprimand.
is that all?????

....that's just the ethics committee, he may face charges from other agencies........

....he should be charged by the IRS for tax evasion......

.....no reason he should get off any lighter than anyone else......

On the Plus Side - Rangel makes Bill Clinton look Real Good!!!

Investors.Com stated: "Bill Clinton lowered the culture, moral tone and strength of the nation..."

If Clinton can be accurately described as Morally & Ethically "Despicable" then Charles Rangel is so far beneath that "contemptible label" that it defies any description!

Who knows maybe Chuck Rangel is Dick Cheney in "Drag"...or vice versa?

that it defies any description!
#31 | Posted by AntiCadillac

.....actually.....it's called "Tax Evasion".....quite easily described.....

.....you have gone overboard on the hyperbole......

Rangel the gloater is now made to eat dust...

.....no reason he should get off any lighter than anyone else......

BUT a repriemand is fucked
OF course the dem saying that is gene green a dem from houston who voted FOR cap and tax even though is district includes the houston ship channel so that means he doesnt give a fuck about anything but his political fortunes in the dem party

www.thefoxnation.com

of course they are charly...of course they are

Congress. Ethics. Oxymoron. Let's investigate the people we don't like, but if they have lots of money, power and influence, then, not so much.

Git em

The reason the United States needs term limits for all of Congress. Rangel is dirty, but he wants to portray himself as the poor black man being targeted by those vicious republicans, just like his buddy.

.....no reason he should get off any lighter than anyone else......

......you are fighting against shadows, because nobody is defending Rangel........

.....he evaded taxes, he is going to go through the legal process, and pay his dues ......

.....I did not hear any Democrat, or lefty, asking to give him a break.....
