Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

President Barack Obama on Tuesday night used his first Oval Office address to try to change Americans' perceptions of his handling of the BP oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico that's gushed out of control for nearly two months and to make the case that he and his team are finally in the driver's seat. " We will fight this spill with everything we've got for as long as it takes," Obama said.

President Barack Obama on Tuesday night used his first Oval Office address to try to change Americans' perceptions of his handling of the BP oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico

It worked... Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow are ripping him apart. LOL.

And Polls starting to come out saying Barack has really shit the bed on this:

www.startribune.com

As much as I don't like Obama (at all), and feel that his Healthcare SPENDING bill was outright TREASON (no joke), when it comes to BP, I don't blame him.

I don't blame him for BP's screw up.

I ESPECIALLY don't blame him for his initially somewhat laid back "personal" respeonse (heck, I APPROVE of it). (You don't want the politicians running emergency response. You want them QUITE, in the rear, providing resources AS REQUESTED by the actual responders....)

Although it IS karma come back around for the lefty morons that got so pissed at Bush over Katrina (and a MUCH better case can be made for blaming Obama for the oil than Bush for Katrina, although both cases are so flawed to be laughable).

I told you he would be the most hated president in American history and I am right on target.

In which of your two posts did you tell us that?

Probably posted that when he was known as Rex. Or rightnut. If it is rex, his irresistible compulsion to post shitty music will tell us in time.

Smart money is on rex, though. That stupid fuck is drawn to this place like an insect to a candle.

Hey, rex. You're saddest thing to ever come crawling back here 500 times.

And that took some doing, sugar tits.

50+ days, and where is FEMA? Heads rolled with Katrina because FEMA was slow to respond, by a few days. Here, Mr. Kick Ass has yet to light a fire under FEMA, and his management of the crisis is beyond incompetence. So you Dtards that still support this embarrassment, is it still Bush's fault?

You and your partner should wear protection.

President Barack Obama on Tuesday night used his first Oval Office address to try to change democrat representatives perceptions of his Cap and Tax legislation.

FIXED!

Eh?

All this man can do is blame and bitch and demand and regulate and tax and destroy. This man in the White House is not a leader, he is a destroyer. Obama can do nothing to help this situation or any situation (it is apparent).

Obama is determined to use this to get his energy tax imposed on the beleagured American public, struggling under his president man-made worse recession by his tax policies, his taking over one segment of the economy after another, and his consistent and unrelenting punishment of the private sector of this economy.

This Obama Presidency is a man-made disaster.

Gosh, you cherry picked that article, Didn't you!
Reading without comprehension seems to be a Rethug attribute!
Good Luck with That!

Run that dipshit Sarah in 2012.
Run extremist GOP candidates for Congress!
You're going to win the Mid-terms, Not!

I have only word word to describe Obama's job at dealing with the MMS oil spill...

...impotent.

#19...Oh My! Such a brute. He did all that in 15 months! ...and he is not even a citizen!

Obama has vowed a lot of things. It always turns out to be hot air. But he is planning to tax the shit out of people to pay for his spending.

The President is a corporate tool, that's all there is to it. The next one will be the same. And the one after that, ad infinitum. And the US Congress represents pure corporate interests as well.

The healthcare legislation is a fascist economic tactic, not socialist. Socialists move resources from private hands into the public sector, roughly speaking. Fascists steal very specifically from the public treasury and funnel the funds to their favorite corporate entities, and that's all that this legislation does. If a couple citizens manage to get to the doctor as a result, great. But that's not the goal, and regardless of how it pans out, the actual healthcare is going to be just as bureaucratic as ever.

The same thing is going on now. The number one priority from the start has been eingineering a way to recover oil. Ending the destruction to the Gulf doesn't enter into the plan except as a desireable side effect. Hell, the mighty US federal government hasn't even been able to get permission for the US press to enter US PUBLIC beach areas. Why is that? Because they haven't even tried, that's why. Because British Petroleum is more important to them than the entire US population.

Even politics and poll number are meaningless now, it's just a show put on to keep us sheep distracted. They'll roll politicians off the assembly line like Model T's. Paint them one of about four different colrs and let them occupy an office for a couple years.

You all really think they give a fuck about your opinion, or your way of life? Get real.

Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann and Howard Fineman react to President Obama's Oval Office Address on the oil spill. Here are the highlights of what the trio said:

Olbermann: "It was a great speech if you were on another planet for the last 57 days."

Matthews compared Obama to Carter.

Olbermann: "Nothing specific at all was said."

Matthews: "No direction."

Howard Fineman: "He wasn't specific enough."

Olbermann: "I don't think he aimed low, I don't think he aimed at all. It's startling."

Howard Fineman: Obama should be acting like a "commander-in-chief."

Matthews: Ludicrous that he keeps saying [Secretary of Energy] Chu has a Nobel prize. "I'll barf if he does it one more time."

Matthews: "A lot of meritocracy, a lot of blue ribbon talk."

Matthews: "I don't sense executive command."

has anybody seen george bush and obama at the same time? i believe bush is still running the show, just playing obama in black face.

Although it IS karma come back around for the lefty morons that got so pissed at Bush over Katrina (and a MUCH better case can be made for blaming Obama for the oil than Bush for Katrina, although both cases are so flawed to be laughable).

Fuck yourself for your inanity. At least Obama was AWARE of it from the outset and allowing the big business take care of it as I am sure they said they could do... because private interprize can do anything something yourightwingfucks are always insisting he do because that is where the money is In .Bush-hole instance he was... as per usual... was blissfully unawares and had to be made to sit down and watch a video. Difference between night and day. This whole BP thing emerged out of the republican playbook of how unregulated big business private enterprise should be trusted to protect the interests of the people. So fuck you again.

He looked like some freshman skid who had sneaked up on stage tonight.
Just like he does every day.
He still passed health care reform... something your pussies lack the balls to do... because you are afraid of being called a socialist.

All this man can do is blame and bitch and demand and regulate and tax and destroy. This man in the White House is not a leader, he is a destroyer. Obama can do nothing to help this situation or any situation (it is apparent).
Obama is determined to use this to get his energy tax imposed on the beleaguered American public, struggling under his president man-made worse recession by his tax policies, his taking over one segment of the economy after another, and his consistent and unrelenting punishment of the private sector of this economy.
This Obama Presidency is a man-made disaster.

yeah right... people in the richest nation on earth are beleaguered....pffft... what only one wide screen? ... costs more to tank up your couch mobile?.. didn't that $200 tax rebate you sold the country out for in 2003 cover everything in perpetuity?

Well if they are beleaguered... it might have more to do with the billions squandered with the last president and the republican way of life... because you stupid fucks... and here's the bad news.. the shit you want has to be paid for... (worse news) with real money... backed by real product.

YOU want that black goo so fucking bad YOU demand that everything is done to procure it regardless of the risk or what (or whom) YOU have to destroy to get it. Furthermore...BP... YOU stupid piece of shit IS is the unregulated private sector... and they don't much give a shit about YOU

Suddenly YOU discover things are expensive (something 80% of the worlds population knows already) and YOU throw a hissy fit and call yourselves beleaguered. Grow up.

A bunch of arm chair quarterbacks everywhere. It's called a disaster for a reason. It's called a catastrophe for a reason.

Of course the oil industry should have had a backup plan. I mean, it's the source of their money, why wouldn't they want to keep it safe. Because they're short sighted. I don't think it was really a matter of being cheap. I think it was, it's working, let's grab the oil.

There's a hole in the bottom of the ocean leading to the biggest blackhead zit in history without anything in between to stop it. Everyone's saying Obama this and that as if there's some other guy/gal out there who knows how to stop it and isn't stepping up. You'd complain if he didn't stop an earthquake.

It's called a disaster.

Rock on #28

"I will fight this spill as long as it takes.......Oh I fotgot it's my tee time, see you later."

"But he is planning to tax the shit out of people to pay for his spending."

Taxes will have to increase in order to pay for REagan, Bush 1, Bush 2's spending, Obama's spending is the most recent so it would be paid for last. Oldest debt first. By far the largest portion of our debt along with the accruing interest was there when Obama entered the WH.
Inconvenient fact for Obama haters.

"I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal."-Barack H. Obama

Ah....I doubt it!

The Obam-e-naster took care of all that!

DICKHEAD,

yer right... lets put Sarah or McLame in charge... they know how to fix it... McLame knew how to catch bin Laden... but wouldn't share it unless he was elected... a real Americun... and Sarah's hubby worked for BP 17 years... so she's uber impartial...

Debt has accelerated by b0's unsustainable policies and if not repealed, will ramp us off a cliff which would be mission accomplished.

These social justice policies are designed to drain and kill the economy and make us all serfs for the government.

b0 is unsustainable, and unamerican

Attention everyone

President Flounder's Base has "left the building"!:)

Point of order here to ponder, socialism is not the moving of private sector money into the public pocket it is the moveing of money into the hands of a few from the masses to where it stays. this is what the pos in the oval office is doing and sadly quite good at it but soros coached him so ----. I didnt hear much about a plan on how to shut the oil off which should have been the focus of the speach. anyone know anything about him refusing the help of the dutch who have to tech kowledge to shut this off?

"I DON'T SENSE EXECUTIVE COMMAND!" - Chris Matthews

MAN OVERBOARD!

Observing Dubya botch 9/11, both wars, Katrina and the economy was like watching Trig trying to solve a Rubik's Cube.

Oboner just has not 'gotten' it yet.... OK to BS when you are campaigning; that is a given..!! once you get to the Oval, you really have to be a leader, be Presidential in credibility and when you speak to your American audience, give them the confidence of a leader with an action plan....not more 'campaign' speeches laced with facts lacking credibility... for one, he really does not have the power to make BP cough up an escrow account and even if they do, this 'third party' concept leaves no control that anything will be done as he purports in his rhetoric, thus SMOKESCREEN..!!! as to cleanup, still no ACTIONS with a COORDINATED effort that is really working.. lots of people running around and bumping into each other... no equipment and resource to the people who need it... Louisiana people are getting a lot of BS but no ACTION.. a leader causes ACTION... these words from speeches of 'LOOK AT ME' have become a joke... his credibility in leadership, which has never been at fact, is worse than the spill..!!!
People, this is a looonnnnngggggggg crisis; not something cleaned up in a few days... we need someone who can lead to take hold and get these people some resolution on the coast.. we are headed toward another 20 year wasted resolution like Valdez..

"anyone know anything about him refusing the help of the dutch who have to tech kowledge to shut this off?"

The President of Shell Oil, a Dutch company sure didn't indicate anything like that. But it would sure make an effective talking point if you could get a bunch or morons to start repeating it anyway.

The left is finally being exposed clearly where the masses can understand and see what it is, and what it does and why it is freedom's greatest enemy. Thanks lil b0!

It is the ideology of the stupid, the lazy, and the "intellectual".

America IS exceptional in every way, except for the liberals.

'The President of Shell Oil, a Dutch company sure didn't indicate anything like that. But it would sure make an effective talking point if you could get a bunch or morons to start repeating it anyway.'

The Dutch government offered to help the U.S. and BP almost immediately after the explosion. They have equipment and knowledge.

exposed to whom? this remark comes from a fan base of:

iz yer republicans lernin'... we den lets put fude on yer famlee...

In other words fuck you. The world knows your boy fucked up... and we are still paying for his practices... now off with you... go on... go fuck a camel for oil... like your boy wanted you to do!

Then go ahead and tell me how private enterprise will fix things... and then bitch me out when they are ineffectual... and then blame it on everyone that told you that from the get go.

I don't know why any of us are concerned.

President Flounder "went to Harvard" and

The Secretary of Energy "won a Nobel Peace Prize".

Just wanted to remind everyone of that "Noble Peace Price" in case no one heard President Flounder during one of the 100 times he has mentioned it as a substitution for any action;)

Yawn. We've heard this one before. Weeks ago he claimed to be taking "full responsibility" for stopping the flow of oil into the Gulf. Then he sat around and watched BP, who he already knew to be a bunch of assclowns, flounder through one failed solution after another. He still hasn't tried anything other than waiting for BP to magically become competent.

President Flounder "in action"!

From your link...

Even so, the catastrophe appears not to have taken a toll on how Americans view the president overall. Obama's approval rating remained steady in the poll

Typical. People disapprove of what he's doing, but still like him. Which is of course all they'll care about when voting for him in 2012. Like American Idol.

The response from the Obama administration and BP, which are coordinating the cleanup: “The embassy got a nice letter from the administration that said, ‘Thanks, but no thanks,'” said Geert Visser, consul general for the Netherlands in Houston.

yeah I remember when they got a similar letter from Bush-hole... regarding dikes int eh aftermath of Katrina

Yeah I know this all the fault of them goddamned treehuggin libruls that didn't want us drillin fer oil at home.

People disapprove of what he's doing, but still like him.

Obama isn't tackling the debt, and he's adding on to it. I know, we shouldn't discuss what he's doing or how he's continuing Bush's policies (you know, the worst president ever) in so many areas. Kid gloves for Obama!

Blah blah blah

Private Enterprise built this country fool

You are a socialist communist, obviously that hates America. Why don't you move to socialist Europe, and for humanity's sake, don't have offspring

A major show of ignorance in leadership about the Dutch offer...
One only has to be reminded that FIRST in this Prez's mind is how he is going to look coming out of this...the REAL priorities have little value on the landscape of this administration..!!!!

Unless you missed it....he put a real 'slap in the face' to a lot of Lousiana and coastal people by casually walking around with snow cones and such the other day, like all is well.. I have a lot of friends spanning the coast lines that are affected by this and his casual and all important VISIT turned out to be a real kick in the face...

I guess we could have a conversation about what President Flounder is doing when he starts doing something.

Let all check back in another 60 days???

Hell in another 60 days he will be able to "walk on water"....in the Gulf!

Oh oh...

...even the MSM is beginning to see Obama for the paper tiger he is.

Wouldn't it be swell if this young naive boy had even a smidgen of experience to help himself out?

Totally fucking impotent as an executive. I sure as fuck hope nothing really bad happens while he still holds power.

Looking for an "Ass to kick"!

I know that you are all atwitter waiting on my response.

BUT FIRST I HAVE FORMED A COMMISSION in order to know just WHAT I think of it.
I have asked KANREI...an award winning master of baiting to chair this commission and will be asking such notables as rightisright, kbm, and atacxpayer to serve on this commission.
They will be charges with telling me what I should think about the speech so that I can get it just right politically.

so I am sure that the audience here will be in favor of such a move since thats about all the potus ever seems to do about anything.

COME On you KNEW I wouldnt just post this creative and satirical post just ONE did you?????

Is he going to get rid of the Jones act so we can bring in skimmer ships? If not than he is not doing everything he can do.

While the Gulf coast is awash in oil he protects the Unions.

What does this have to do with Obama?

simple...another means to deny any responsibility for almost anything no matter what comes out of his mouth to state the contrary.

Obama's mouth is writing checks that his bank account can't cash. What are the American people going to do about it... I guess we'll find out in November.

What do these two statements have to do with Obama's lack of action? Can anyone tell me?

ermmm... the scroll bar is your friend. The remarks were made regarding the purported letter sent from the Dutch to help us address the oil spill... seems some rightwingfuck thought that in this instance.... it behooved Obama to listen to the advice coming from a bastion of socialist propaganda.

Obama was never inactive regarding this spill... Obama's initial action was to rely on the perpetrator... of the spill... to address the issue... they reassured him that they could... they lied... if he had jumped down their throats from the get go the conservatoids would have been all over him for squelching free enterprise.

The reality is.. no one knows what to do... all anyone can do is follow suggestions... test theories... its a leaky oil well 5,000 feet under water.... six months ago the republiconfabulators were all about drill baby drill... well now your desire has given and you want daddy to fix it. ... fuck you and grow up.

the only thing I am angry at Obama for is that he tried to appease the criminally insane.

I hope it is the last time he will do that.

No doubt about it. Obama's gotta stop appeasing his base.

Obama had the opportunity of a lifetime to take a responsible position and work WITH the oil industry to take responsible steps to develop oil spill prevention and cleanup technologies. But instead, he threw them under a bus and is off peddling utopic windmills and solar farms to billionaires, the only people who can afford to buy his la-la-land green energy technologies.

Start investing in horses and hayfarms, people. We'll be back to the "old" fall-back transportation system long before anyone comes up with a viable "smart-grid" and a "carbon-free" so-called "green hydrogen" technology.

from Wikipedia:

en.wikipedia.org

The Department of Energy was formed after the oil crisis on August 4, 1977 in order to end the United States dependence on foreign oil by President Jimmy Carter's signing of legislation, The Department of Energy Organization Act of 1977.

DOE was founded in 1977 to develop the technologies needed to "ween" us off Middle Eastern oil. Question for the president, "Where are they?"

THAT should clue people in as to government's/ Obama's "credibility" on the subject.

AND on cnn they had history of oval office speeches

REAGAN on end of soviet union
bush 41 on desert storm
bush 43 on 9/11
carter on iran hostage

AND CLINTON used it to get BLOWN by an intern..

okay well that wasnt EXACTLY how cnn reported it but its still the truth

Anyone else think Dubya is at home, drunk off his ass right now, laughing like a madman at Obama and thanking G-d he was not President when this happened?

Sense of humor. Home, drunk, and laughing is a complete picture that I would have used for Clinton or anyone. Not a slam on Bush's rumored alcoholism

My bad...

jesse james said he deserved everything bad coming his way for his behavior. so does the joke-in-chief for misleading the public to be something he's not. the world sees him now for what he is-incompetent. even the media can't back this turd and save face. with plunging revenues, they have to grab for life support cause they see this ship sinking fast.

Obama isn't tackling the debt, and he's adding on to it. I know, we shouldn't discuss what he's doing or how he's continuing Bush's policies

#67 | Posted by JOE

You can discuss how badly Obama is doing but only if you DO NOT mention Bush or how we got here in the first place....

...not even if we start at Clintoon?

"I haven't heard a responsible voice who could tell me that he isn't doing everything he should be doing."

Like turning down offers from entities 100 times smarter than the amateur in chief? BTW... Has anyone figured out who the "Brownie" is when it comes to the blame game? Does anyone even know what the head of FEMA has been engaged in?

#70 | Posted by crispee_oc

That may well be because he hasn't told us yet, what he is doing.

Has he ever explained any strategic or tactical plans for capturing the oil? Has he ever described, in any detail whatsoever, what is being done at the source? Has he even detailed out for us kindred souls, his widely espoused pronouncement to "move us to a greener future"?

No to all of these questions. And more. From a line in an old movie, what we have here, is a failure to communicate.

He had best start doing so. Even his closest supporters in the media and elsewhere are growing ever more concerned over our boy presidents obvious...

...un-concern.

Or perhaps even worse. His stunning inability.

I think BP should be telling us that... I mean it is their well... private enterprise and all that conservative bullshit... oh wait... now we don't want private enterprise to do what it does best?

How can someone appear competent in a situation that has no precedent? The US has handled natural disasters and designed things like FEMA, National Guard... et al... to meet the demands... so where is the CUTBG crowd? (Clean Up The Black Goo) team... oh that's riiiiiiight deep sea drilling was safe... because it is privatized... doesn't need the government to interfere with it... The probelm is even BP doesn't know what they are going to do... in fact if conservatoids don't have a war going on the secure oil... they are at a loss as well.

So tell me assholes where are the republicans in this mess... where is the big fat fucking republican take charge leadership under this circumstance? I mean you shit heads know all there is about oil. Where oh where is the leadership you are whining about coming from the right... wassa matter too busy filibustering some trivial domestic matter to come to the rightytighties rescue?

Oil Pollution Act... Authority as assigned by law to do anything and everything necessary for remediation has been given to the President (whomever that might be at the time of a spill) and not to Congress.

If O'bama had abdicated his authority to someone other than the head of BP things may or may not have turned out differently. Don't blame the passengers for this train wreck.

You know on the march to Iraq there were democrats who had actually gone to war offering up alternative plans that the republiconfabulators said were "non ideas"... and here we are... all this bitching and whining from the right... and no suggestions about what to do... nothing.. nada... nothing to debate...

You people are pussies... until you can at least debate the issues surrounding deep sea oil drilling catastrophies... and alternative methods that have worked in the past... you don't have shit to say... your points are invalid... all you can do is say Obama gave a bad speech... boo fucking hoo... he didn't tell us what to do... he said we need to go green and use clean energy... boo fucking hoo... he doesn't know how to plug the leak... no one knows how to plug the leak and Obama won't fix that... boo fucking hoo... which is all you have said... you haven't presented a single solution... or an expert that has a clue... except that maybe he shoulda talked to Holland... boo fucking hoo... he gave a bad speech... he used proper syntax... he didn't sound like someone that you wanna have a beer with... he gave a lousy speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech...boo fucking hoo...

He did? I didn't watch it so I really don't know. Did BOTH of the teleprompters fail or what. I see that Chris Matthews smeared him for the speech so SOMETHING must have gone wrong for ol' Chris to have sat through a whole speech with no tingles up his leg.

What does rightwing leadership have to do with those in charge.

Elections have consequences. If you wanted rightwingers to solve the problems, you should've voted for them.

Besides, I don't think he's gonn be around long enough to "restore the Gulf Coast."

oh yeah... Chris Matthews... mmmmhmmmmm.... he's about as valuable as Rush Limpploe... whose opinion was that the ocean would clean itself and there was nothing to worry about...

still waiting,,,, come up with anyone that has a better solution than Obama?... any party.. any country... any business

anyway still waiting for the rightwing hero that will deliver a speech and make us feel all warm and fuzzy about this situation....

what could any rightwinger say that would make you feel "warm and fuzzy"?

you have a stick so far up your ass you couldn't feel warm and fuzzy no matter what anybody said.

"anyway still waiting for the rightwing hero that will deliver a speech and make us feel all warm and fuzzy about this situation..."

All they are going to say is that you elected a moron, deal with it.

RW's elected a moron and had to deal with it during Katrina and the bin laden field trips.

It is not the oppositions responsibility to make you feel better about your election choices.

If you would like to recall your president and appoint someone else that's capable of handing the responsibility, by all means, knock yourselves out.

Kevin Costner?

you have a stick so far up your ass you couldn't feel warm and fuzzy no matter what anybody said.

Yer wrong... I think I have realistic expectations about this situation... it sucks... and it is unprecedented... even in history there is nothing to compare it too... there have been plenty of wars... and illegal invasions... but this is different animal... I just don't think Obama could have done any better than what he did because thus far there isn't all that much to say... at least he talked to the people... and he didn't tell us to go shopping that he would take care of everything... which seems to be what the pundits wanted.

What he is going to have to do is put people to work cleaning it up... and that is going to take some negotiating.

So tell me assholes where are the republicans in this mess..."

as jest said..locked out and lied about...never more than on this site when some liberal eggheaded fuckin liar starts in on the lies about gop having no ideas and only no to say...

maybe thats where they are...one place they will be..
in charge of the house and a neutralized senate....heres hoping

What he is going to have to do is put people to work cleaning it up... a

so is this a case of ME reading the new york times and telling you that even THEY say that the cleanup is 'botched" or what????

3rd day of incident..dutch asked if they could send most everything needed...and obama said...NO!

why did he say NO???

unions tell him not to???

OR maybe that would mean that a good crisis would go to waste????

"and he didn't tell us to go shopping"

Nope, in comments monday, he said to go vacationing on the Gulf Coast. I totally agreed with him, folks dropping dollars there will help if not just a little.

You are right, there has never been anything quite like this before. People like their hands held, its sad but true. I think many are more angry that there is no easy answer than they are with his efforts thusfar.

The clean up effort will be unprecedented (or should be), and if he is the uber organizer we have been told, it is an opportunity to shine for him. Let's see how he handles it.

"anyway still waiting for the rightwing hero that will deliver a speech and make us feel all warm and fuzzy about this situation...."

Well, the one who comes to mind right away is Bobby Jindal who has been on the job since day one and hasan't just been making speeches. He has been prevented from doing a lot of things right from the beginning because the Community Organizer and his administration wanted to study the impact of things like the sand bars and all....remember? Guess what...Jindal's taking matters into his own hands now. Why do you want a speech to make you feel all warm and fuzzy? You're getting lots of those from the Community organizer.

mention Bush or how we got here in the first place....

Translation: Ignore what Obama's doing

good job about jindal..but of course you know that right here on our little site..he has already been accused of doing it just so he can run against obama..........
typical for the left to slam the only elected official to actually do something for some time...the others are doing okay..
and NOTICE that the govs are mostly gop??? alabama, lousianna, florida..well okay...not QUITE a gop but closer than the MAYOR nagel FUCKUP from NAWLINS.

I just don't think Obama could have done any better than what he did

#110 | Posted by RightisTrite

On that we might all agree!

Wow! Even his ardent supporters are shitting the bed over his ineptitude.

Obama gave a bad speech... boo fucking hoo... he didn't tell us what to do... he said we need to go green and use clean energy... boo fucking hoo... he doesn't know how to plug the leak... no one knows how to plug the leak and Obama won't fix that

#96 | Posted by RightisTrite at 2010-06-16 04:21 PM

He has no idea how to "go green" either.

Nor does he have a clue on how to lower the sea levels.

Just a sham to take your cash bro.

Boy, you really eat his shit up. Don't you? Wow.

RightisTrite must be one of those school children chanting...

...I'm an Obama scholar...la la la..I'm an Obama scholar...do to do to to..

Yes; I can hear you now.

Said it from the beginning: this guy was no presidential material---we could have walked down mainstream and picked out people by random to be president and done as well. People voted in the Obummer for all the wrong reasons and now we're watching a cartoon show or horror movie based on your perspective. Even some in the media left are starting to catch on and having to admit it. You can only talk the prose for so long before it's realized that executive experience goes deeper. The sad thing is I think the poor guy actually believes you can just will things to happen.

The sad thing is I think the poor guy actually believes you can just will things to happen.

Unfortunately, magic thinking is a character trait necessary for getting elected to any political office.

Still can't come up with the name of some rightwing leadership that can solve this mess eh?

Seeing as it has been a couple of months, one would think someone from the right should have stepped up. I agree they have been as clueless as the amateur in chief. Although I doubt Obama would have the sense to listen to them, anymore than he and the feds have to industry experts.

One would think DC could have suspended all the BS bureaucracy weeks ago and allow the recources in that could have contained much of the spill. Where the hell are the directors of FEMA, the EPA? Why haven't they been holding conferences and informing the press what the hell they are actually doing? Hard to believe Obama hasn't stuck them out there.

Where the hell are the directors of FEMA,

According to Glenn Beck, they are busy building FEMA internment camps. Heil, Hitler!

Vladimir Putin.

He'd simply nuke it.

Not only will a nuke work...

...a nuke may very well be the only thing that will work.

(crickets)

still nothing to add that will solve this dilemma... just whine about his poor speech...mmmkay.. its bed time

(crickets)

let me know when you are struck by brilliance

Wow! Even his ardent supporters are shitting the bed over his ineptitude.

He is not inept... I have never said that... he gave a bad speech... and what constitutes a bad speech in this nation of neurotics is... he made no promises he couldn't keep... unlike Presnit ("Mission Accomplished"... smoke em out dead or alive.... yer doin a great job Brownie... now go shopping cause everything is gonna be okay...)Bush-hole

He is better off keeping his own counsel for the time being... I know that upsets the rightwing pissy pants... so get over yourselves... grow up

The fact is no one knows what to do... he is better off not giving specifics.. as uncomfortable as that may be to the rightytighties who need a daddy to wipe their asses... and make the boogey men go away...

People in the US want the oil... everyone here that uses petroleum products... and wanted us to become energy independent is just as responsible for that cleaning up that spill and figuring what to do to... if you rightytightie dumbfucks don't want companies regulated... especially when they have this level of potential for disaster... well then fuck yourselves... you are going to have to pay for it eventually... like now for instance.

With well thought out and articulate responses like that, it's little wonder you're largely ignored.

What we have here, is a failure to communicate.

Even the most left-leaning-loonies are beginning to ask Ohmama...

...how.

How will we suddenly "go green"?

How will we lower the sea levels?

How will we keep the Maldives afloat?

How will you spend all that new money from the national carbon tax?

How will we protect our shorelines for invading oil slicks?

And especially, how will we plug that damn hole?

(...crickets chirping...)

still nothing to add that will solve this dilemma... just whine about his poor speech...mmmkay.. its bed time

I've told them how to plug the leak.

They haven't gotten back to me yet.

How do you plug the leak? Simple. Tie Rosie and Rush to an anchor and drop it.

Collapse the hole from within using conventional explosives.

A long section of steel cable suspends a series of small explosive devices. Each device is designed to throw out titanium cutting shapes in the 2-D geometric plane when they explode. This causes that corresponding section of well casing to become mishapened, losing it's structural ability to withstand the crushing weight of the earth pressing in from all sides.

See if you can imagine this. The cable device is lowered down into the well casing. It's long, skinny, having tremendous tensile strength so it will slide right down the hole with the oil still free to gush up and out around it.

The device is exploded in the same way demolitions are done on dry land. A succession of blasts starting at the upper end and moving to the bottom end. As each individual device explodes, that section of pipe becomes misshapen and the surrounding earth crushes in.

The result will be the earth itself crushing the pipe like a soda straw between your fingers.

(...your turn cricket boy...)

Was that brilliant enough for you. Best idea I've heard (even though it was me who came up with it, oh well).

(cricket symphony now)

LOL...like I said no one knows what to do... sux 2

(oily crickets from the gulf coast chirping only you can't hear them cause their legs are too greasy)

What is it with the oily crickets on this thread?

I wonder if they are running worst case scenarios, like if it CANNOT be stopped? Prolly not, being proactive isn't really a gummit thang.

I recall an interview conducted by Barbara Walters with Shah of Iran Mohammad Reza Pahlavi where after he was deposed he discussed how difficult it was to keep Americans appetite for oil satisfied because we were like spoiled children... always hungry... or somethign to that effect... that was in late 70's or early 80's after a few embargos and waiting in gas lines... odd even days...

Shah was right

This has been a Katrina comparison until Obama brought up the 9/11 comparison. Obama took 58 days to call the bp CEO. Obama played 6 rounds of golf during that time span. How many rounds of golf did Bush play during the first 58 days after 9/11 or Katrina?

obama vows - LOLT

The little man talks big does he not?

So Obamination is going to restore the Gulf coast huh! Yeah right! All he can do is read his teleprompter and play the blame game. He could not clean up the puddle of puke that remained after I listened to one of his bullshit speeches!

In three weeks he will add The East Coast of Florida... Then Georga and South Carolina... Then the outer Banks.... Maryland, Jersey and the frigging rest of it.

The island of Cuba is now preparing for the oil that is due to wash up on their shores. Somewhere out there in the ocean there is the front edge of the slick. Come on... We should have dropped buoys with sensors already. On the edge of that slick what we should see is everything that floats sucking up or corralling the damn oil.

This is absurd. For the cumming weeks ahead. Americans are going to be fed the bad news a piece at a time. Where are the news reporters on this... All looking at the beaches and the stuff that is already damaged. They should fly over the damn thing, Mark it on the GPS and tell the feds on the air... "There it is... Go Get it Uncle Sam"

This is BP's mistake, but it is obvious that the slick has gotten away if Cubs knows its going to hit them. All efforts must be made. No matter the cost to stop this thing in the gulf. We should now be calling anyone who can help from any nation..

BM

We have been calling other nations in and have vessels from several nations helping with skimming, boom laying, etc.

The problem are the dispersants BP used at the well head have resulted in much of the oil staying beneath the surface where it can't be collected and is much more likely to reach the Loop Current and foul the ocean bed and kill everything down there too.

In three weeks he will add The East Coast of Florida... Then Georga and South Carolina... Then the outer Banks.... Maryland, Jersey and the frigging rest of it.

That's what I thought too, but I saw a map on the weather channel that seemed to indicate the Loop current goes up as far as North Carolina and then veers off into the Atlantic and flows toward England.

Really?

I didn't know that. I have been seeing a lot of stuff like this.

Jun 14, 2010 ... Four weeks after the nation's worst environmental disaster, the Obama administration saw no need to accept offers of state-of-the-art ...

www.washingtonpost.com

Then read this. everyone is printing it.. What on earth have you been reading?

www.taipanpublishinggroup.com

I guess the oil could come north of the Carolinas, but in North Carolina the Gulf Stream would probably take it toward Europe:

The Commissioner told the Assembly Environment and Solid Waste Committee the leaking oil remains confined in the Gulf of Mexico and has not reached the Loop Current that could take it towards the tip of Florida, up the Atlantic Coast towards the Carolinas where the Gulf Stream would carry it eastward and out to sea. The oil could only reach New Jersey through a sequence of unlikely, atypical events -- and even then would not reach our coast until at least late autumn.

. . .

In his testimony, Commissioner Martin explained to the Committee the unlikely sequence of events that would be required for oil from the Gulf to reach New Jersey:

Oil from the spill has reached the Florida Panhandle but has not made its way to the Loop Current, which would carry it around the southern tip of Florida.

If the oil gets into the Loop Current, it would be carried north only to Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, where the Gulf Stream would carry it out into the Atlantic Ocean towards Europe.

An eddy then would have to break off from the Gulf Stream, which is not typical -eddies are typically engulfed back into the current - for a small portion of the oil to head back westward towards the Atlantic Coast.

Even then such as eddy would have to make landfall along the coast of Massachusetts or eastern Long Island - north of New Jersey - to reach us because the current along the New Jersey coast moves southward.
