Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Even worse for the GOP, Obama and the Democrats are now free to focus on the economy and jobs for the next 8 months until the mid-term elections, and Obama now can add an historic piece of legislation to his stellar resume. The Republican hopes of defeating Barack Obama in 2012 hinged on stopping health care reform. They tried to turn Superman back into Clark Kent, and now all they have left is white rage, a pile of tea bags, and 18 months of doing nothing for the American people.

They bet the farm and lost.

Hard to imagine them telling the old farts this fall that they want to reinstate the Medicare Part D 'donut hole' and take away the preventative health benefits for medicare recipients.

THAT will be a lot of fun to watch. If the only thing the R-turds have to run on is 'repeal Obamacare', they are in real trouble.

Now that people will be able to keep their kids on their existing insurance policies until they are 26, this will save people REAL money.

Family policies generally don't charge by the child, so it is basically free coverage for families with multiple kids. Even if the only children are over 18, the incremental cost of the family policy is generally less than individual coverage for a young person. Definitly less than covering 2 or more young people.

Lets hear those R-turds telling people this fall why their kids should LOSE health insurance.

I think Axe is having an orgasm.

RIR is gonna have a cow. His dream of Obama failing is dead.

At least this is finally something tangible for the average 40hr/week working man and his family. Not for the fat cats exclusively.

What is going to happen is insurance companies will have to raise their rates to cover the additional expense. The American public will not see any savings.

"They bet the farm and lost."

Actually, I think the Dems did that. November is going to be hell for them. And don't forget, this has to make it past the senate and the coming state lawsuits.
Exactly where in the Constitution does the federal government get the power to force me to buy insurance? They can regulate interstate commerce but if I am not engaged in commerce they can stick it.

Dream on, Diarrhea. Dream on.

now, the dems have to pass amnesty so that they can get buy some of the votes they'll lose over health care. same old shit. rinse wash repeat.

You have your facts wrong.

As soon as President Obama signs this bill, it becomes law.

The Senate has to vote on the fixes for this bill. If they do nothing at all, this bill will still be law.

Word has it President Obama will sign it on Tuesday.

What are the points being argued in the lawsuits?

The weaknesses I see in this legislation are one, the federal government forcing people to buy private insurance and two, forcing health insurance companies to take on guaranteed losses by forcing them to subsidize the health care expenses of people with pre-existing conditions.

There is one way to provide the same service and circumvent these legal issues.
