Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

After Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) left an interview on Sunday morning's Face The Nation, protesters from the group Billionaires for Wealthcare threw money at him and sarcastically thanked him on behalf of the insurance industry. "Vote no tomorrow and there's more on the way!" one yelled.

Awesome!

These guys are awesome!!!!! Sen. McConnell represents my Commonwealth, Yet he's more for Wall street than us. I'm surprised he didn't stop and pick up the money.

I'm surprised he didn't stop and pick up the money.

Doing so may have made the corners of his mouth form what could be confused with a slight smile.

Wouldn't want to ruin his perfect "Mrs. Lincoln, I promise he'll look like he's sleeping" look.

The R-turds this November will be running on a 'Protect the Health Insurance Companies' platform.

Good luck with that, losers.

You may have had the votes today but you won't in November.

It's the economy, stoopid. If the economy tangibly turns the corner this year, the Dems will stay in charge in Congress. If not, then they'll lose some seats. Of course that means rtards like you will pray for the economy to stay in recession, even if it's bad for America, cuz well, that's what what makes rtard rtards...

They ain't called 'Cheerleaders for Failure' for nuttin'.

“We've been spending over $5 million per week to kill healthcare reform” said health insurance executive Clay M. Denyed. “We're glad to finally go public with our support. Besides, confetti is cheap – we know that only money means anything to the GOP."

5 million is pocket change to them. they love this bill. getting almost everything that they want. if they really opposed it they could spend 500 million.

I wonder where these people were, when ObamaBushGeithner were borrowing $2,000,000,000,000 to save Goldman Sachs and AIG?

Nah. Obama's the messiah. Everyone knows that.

technically that is littering and carries a fine of $150 or 30 days in jail, however, while I do not disagree with their premise, they should have kept the money, the IRS is watching with their newly acquired shotguns.

I'm sure that he used dollars from someone else's pocket.

The IRS was right behind them picking up the "litter"

It is amusing to watch libbies pretend to demonize the insurance companies, while Obama will be hiring 16,000 new IRS agents to be collectors for them.

Irony is probably lost on these people, though.

I like the group and its message, but I don't like political theater of this kind. Throwing pies, shoes or anything else at leaders who have a reason to fear violence ought to be out of bounds. We talk about politicians showing decorum and not doing things like Joe Wilson's "You lie!" or last night's "baby killer!" Citizens ought to show some decorum too.

It's the economy, stoopid.

dude, not been paying attention? . . .

a) the cost of doing business just went UP

b) small business gets a tax hit 3+ yrs before any promised benefits

c) insurance industry will trim payroll

d) manufacturing is continuing their offshore migration

e) part-time workers (now requiring full benefits) will lose jobs

f) there is nobody to pass additional costs to . . . we're in a recession & real unemployment is 15%+

g) our energy policy is self destructive

"g) our energy policy is self destructive

I agree that continuing to bankroll the Saudi terrorists by refusing to support alternative energy and wean the U.S. off oil is indeed self-destructive.

"c) insurance industry will trim payroll "

Perhaps they can start with their marketing/lobbying departments.

18 posts and nobody has made a joke about Jews? I'm proud of you, retorters!

Funny, my clients throw money at me.

Lots of money.

RCADE - I agree, this kind of stuff is troublesome to me. I fear an escalation on either side that could get somebody hurt. McConnell's a dweeb, but I don't like these tactics.

And a big ol' howdy to Zelkova! Another Kentuckian on the DR.

(Go 'Cats! Beat... um... Cornell!)

You mean back in September 2008,when War Preznet and Republican Super-Hero George Whatmeworry Bush was in office and his trusty sidekicks John Iwasapowyouknow McCain and Sarah Icanseerussiafrommybasement Palin were pushing therbail-out as the most important thing America ever did? I'd check who signed that bill if I were you. Senators don't get to do that...

Obama voted for it. Republicans against. McCain voted for, but he's not a conservative, so I didn't vote for him anyhow.

But Obama promoted Geithner from NY Fed chief to Treasury Secretary, and gave Bernanke another four-year term at the Fed.

As in all things, he took Bush's mistakes, multiplied them by a factor of 4, and promoted everyone involved.

Hope and change!

Obama voted for it. Republicans against.

Better check those "facts". Senate republicans voted for the bailout.

I remember when Glenn Beck was saying that the bailout amounts weren't big enough. I don't think he cried, though, so maybe he didn't REALLY mean it.

I am also originally from Kentucky.

McConnell is a poor excuse for a man.

There's something about that guy that makes me think he wears ladies' underwear beneath his male garb.

Those Mrs. Beasley glasses, the rosy cheeks, and the little Betty Boop lips.

Fucking disgusting!!

People ordering from your food cart are not exactly "clients," Vernon.

Asian prostitutes don't count as "clients," Vern.

Citizens ought to show some decorum too.

yeah! They should carry loaded guns to these things like the Thuggies do!

About a dozen people openly carrying guns mingled with protesters outside the convention centre in Phoenix, Arizona yesterday, where President Barack Obama was addressing a crowd on his plans to reform US healthcare.

One of the men carried an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle slung over his shoulder. Phoenix police said no crimes were committed and no one was arrested as Arizona is an "open-carry" state, meaning that anyone legally allowed to have a gun can carry it in public as long as it is visible. Only someone carrying a concealed weapon is required to have a permit.

Funny, my clients throw money at me.
Lots of money.
