A gay couple were turned away from a British bed and breakfast after its owner said it is "against her convictions" for two men to share a bed. Michael Black and John Morgan were not allowed to stay at the Swiss B&B by owner Susanne Wilkinson, who may have broken the country's Equality Act law. "I don't see why I should change my mind and my beliefs I've held for years just because the government should force it on me," Wilkinson said.

Here in America she could do as she wished because it is a pvt business but the laws are different there and she must obey the laws or try to get the changed.

maybe she should move to america

Wonder if they'll shut down their business based on their convictions---if they do, got to hand it to them----not many people have the courage of their convictions to take a financial hit.

Ads by Google shows: Gay Friendly B&B as an option. The gay B&B industry probably loves this story!

Don't fool yourselves, she couldn't do that in the US.

There was someone who was renting a room in their house who refused to rent to an unmarried couple (they were living in sin) and they filed a suit. The decision (I wish I could find the article, its been a few years) was the owner had to either rent the room to the unmarried couple or not put the room up for rent.

She decided to take the room off the market because she thought it was a better option that to have that going on in her house where her children would have to see it.

And if this had been a black couple in the USA what would have happened.

Why should it be any different for a Gay couple?

My husband and I were evicted ffrom a B&B some years ago.

We happened to get a little poo on the bedding and
towels; the owners reacted homophobically and the
rest was history.

To make matters worse, we lost our lawsuit (jury was
stacked with homophobes).

Hopefull this couple will hold their heads high and carry on.

Be Well.

You know, wiping your fudge packing dick on the sheets might extract a reaction from someone who otherwise might have thought they were open minded and tolerent.

All depends on what the definition of "little" is.

It is a lose lose situation.

1. They allow them to be there and then get accused of not following their beliefs, and being hypocritical to their beliefs.

2. They do no allow them and they are accused of being non loving and in contridiction to their belief.

I am not saying this woman is a "Christian" or not, however "Christianity" specifically is a lose, lose, situation, which should come to no surprise as Jesus made this very clear to those who would follow him.

Housing's one thing; running a B&B's different.
If they gave a reservation, I think they should have to honor it. On the other hand, if they want to advertise their prejudices up front and pre-screen, I don't have a problem with that. I'd rather not patronize bigots any more than I have to anyway. There's a "retreat center" up the road from me. A friend looked at it for her wedding, and when they went to look at the place the owner ran down a list of prohibitions -smoking, drinking, etc. Sounded like they were only interested in Amish retreats, and then probably only if they speak English.
If someone wants to run their business like that, it's none of my concern.

Does Lisa own this B & B?

And you don't think that the owners of the B&B have a reason to be a little upset? If someone trashed your house or your business (assuming you own one), would you be happy about it?

Ichy "I see, but your blood-stained dick, ass and cunt are just fine?

And do you think that is how most rooms are left after a straight couple spends the night? Really?

=============

Bottom line (no pun), if you leave the place fucked up, they might not want you back. If a majority of the gay couples that stayed there left the rooms like that (towels, sheets, floor, drapes, etc.) unsanitary, they might have a good reason.

How would you feel if you were the person cleaning the room? I am just surprised that they didn't charge you for the damage.

"You can't make this shit up."

Yes, you can, and yes he did.

Can't anyone recognize parody anymore? Post #7 is a spoof.

Maybe the rules in the US have been changed over the years but my understanding was that if you were a private individual renting out a house or a room in your home... that yes, you could choose not to rent to certain individuals.

That came up when I was a recent college grad and started looking for a house to rent with some others my age. We got the home, but the homeowner (a former? realtor) relayed that info.

So back then, anyway, you could choose not to rent to a non-married couple... you could discriminate against renting to a young person (loud noise?).

The key was that you weren't running a business and that this was your private property.

Were it a bed and breakfast (a business) I'd wonder whether they could do such a thing.

I just went out to get the morning Winston-Salem Journal and noticed a front page story which ties in to this thread: www2.journalnow.com

I think I'll make it a blog entry... it's a story about a gay male couple who were refused a "family" YMCA membership here locally.

This is the funniest thread in a long, long time. Congrats to SW.

What part of private home do people not understand? Your homosexual agenda is your problem, we don't gives these rights to pedophiles, polygamists, those who engage in incest or beastiality, but oh when it comes to two gay people we need to be sensitive to their needs? Bullshit, it's vile and disgusting behavior that has been mainstreamed by Hollywood. You try to make it sound like the civil rights movement when there is no comparison.

Ya know I wouldn't have this issue if it wasn't for the fact that you have the Gay-Straight alliance in schools peddling their beliefs on children. Science spouting liberals who hate god and religion but ignore the fact homosexuals can't have children naturally.

How long before NAMBLA starts showing up in schools next to these Gay-Straight alliance peddlers trying to convince them the being a pedophile is ok. Maybe George Clooney can go on tv for NAMBLA, nothing like the Hollywood Seal of approval to move things along.

Skip,

So you're saying you two can't get your shit together and people who owned the B&B were upset by that?

""I don't see why I should change my mind and my beliefs I've held for years just because the government should force it on me," Wilkinson said."

Then don't offer a service to the public for money.

Jackass is right in #1... Renting living rooms falls under those equal opportunity anti-discrimination laws. However, offering a room as a B&B doesn't fall under the same restrictions. Just like any privately run business in the US, you can expel any customer/potential customer from your establishment w/o the need for a reason. Smelly, colored "funny", religious, gay, airplane pilot, whatever. Whether or not that is "good for business" is another thing all together.

We don't allow liberals in our place and we're doin' just fine. :-)

I hope she kicked their asses as they left, too.

Yes, you can, and yes he did. Can't anyone recognize parody anymore?

Wow, dude has a pretty warped view of straight sex and human anatomony in general (one person having all those parts?).

I'd hate to hear the birds and the bees speach you got a as a kid.

The B&B was probably afraid that the couple
would use M&M's for some S&M PDQ. lol

STFU.

KMA

"...And do you think that is how most rooms are left after a straight couple spends the night? Really?..."

Yes. And in fact even worse. Especially at 'that time of the month'. Which never stopped a man from fucking his wife or girlfriend.

Blood everywhere. Your dick gets smeared with blood. It's gross. It looks like someone's been stabbed to death.

And Vaggie juices? well, they're everywhere too. And made up of a simular mucci that your nose produces. So one could say you're fucking in booger juice.

You see, the average bedsheet is a repository of all thing distinctly human - especially during sex.

It's called the "Wet Spot" for a reason.

Picture this:

You and your horse-ugly bitch rent a room in a hotel. For some reason she finds your tiny republican-approved penis attractive and she wants some sex. You both get naked and fuck for about 3 minutes. A new record for you!

Afterwards, you check out. Then the maid finds a giagantic pool of Jizz, Sweat and Vaggie Juice, along with scabs, scales, pubes and shit and
urine covering the bed sheets.

So you see, Moron; you're just a fucking homophobe looking for another excuse to express your hatred and frustration that you can't legally do away with the Homo, so insted you'll spend every waking moment making his/her life miserable.

Good luck with that.

AND:

"...Your homosexual agenda is your problem, we don't gives these rights to pedophiles, polygamists, those who engage in incest or beastiality..."

You DON'T GIVE RIGHTS to ANYONE, Moron. The rights already exist. They are inalieable.

YOU ALSO CAN'T TAKE AWAY RIGHTS...even though YOU think you can, Moron.

"...Bullshit, it's vile and disgusting behavior that has been mainstreamed by Hollywood..."

Vile and Disgusting? I have been Caring for and Loving my newly wed husband for over 15 years now.

How is that Vile or disgusting?

"...You try to make it sound like the civil rights movement when there is no comparison..."

The supreme Court determines that Homosexuality is a distinct class in the U.S. and they are constitutionally protected from idiots like you. I think the Supreme Court knows what a civl rights movement looks like.

"...Ya know I wouldn't have this issue if it wasn't for the fact that you have the Gay-Straight alliance in schools peddling their beliefs on children..."

Gay straight alliances are started by students who want to protect gays from people like you.

If you didn't exist, there would be no problem. get it????????????????????????????
?????

"...Science spouting liberals who hate god and religion but ignore the fact homosexuals can't have children naturally..."

1) we don't hate god. There is no god.

2) Science allows you to spew your hate and institutionalized ignorance on this forum.

3) Religion never invented anything except a world filled with over-priviledged selfsih child-like and dangerous morons. Of which you are a perfect example.

"...How long before NAMBLA starts showing up in schools next to these Gay-Straight alliance peddlers trying to convince them the being a pedophile is ok...

Straights are pedophiles. In fact, they are the majority.

Sexual Orientation has nothing to do with Pedophilia.

But trying to tell a Moron about anything is like trying to feed a doughnut to a rock.

Just can't do it.

"Yes. And in fact even worse. Especially at 'that time of the month'. Which never stopped a man from fucking his wife or girlfriend."

LOL. See, what you don't realize is that for straight couples "never stopped a man" isn't the only standard for whether sex occurs. There are plenty of things that "won't stop a man" that would stop many women. And being on the rag is one of them.

Your digust at straight sex is pretty funny actually. You sound like a homophobe descriging why he is so disgusted by what gays do in the privacy of their own homes.

Why the hell would somebody even want to do something that would get shit on their dick? Isn't that a heath risk? Now that we have national health care, we can make fat people become thin, legislate salt intake and ban anal sex for legitimate health concerns....

Slippery slopes slide both ways....

Maybe all the Gay Hating Christians will move to England.

What part of private home do people not understand?

The part where a bed & breakfast is a business that charges people money for lodging and thus is subject to laws about public accomodations.

Slippery slopes slide both ways....

Why yes it does! Especially if you use KY jelly.

Now if you are concerned with getting a little poop on your dick try doing it in the shower. It washes right off that way.

So you are saying that gay sex requires artificial lubricants because it's an unnatural act right?

True, but whether a public accommodation can discriminate against a gay couple is an open question for the states, as there is no federal laws on the subject last I looked.

Some states her actions would be illegal, in others, they wouldn't be.

"So you are saying that gay sex requires artificial lubricants because it's an unnatural act right?"

Uh... KY is made for heterosexuals. They try to market to gay men as well but hardly anyone buys it. It sucks.

Did my (not so gay sensitive) discription offend you, furio?, I'm so sorry.

Gays should be allowed to do anything they want, including spreading HIV/AIDs to everyone else and fucking each other in the ass in public. Shame on you Neocons!!!

so lets see;
who OWNS this establishment? or does that matter anymore after the fuckin liars pulled one over on you hopeless dupes?

sounds JUST like an excerpt from atlas shrugged.

"so lets see; who OWNS this establishment?"

Why? Does a certain type of ownership allow for discrimination?

if its thier business and its not a public institution,....aka tax money..damn straight...

so is there a sign

no shirt
no shoes
no cocksucking
no service.

(thats a little joke)

AGAIN...reads just like page 135 of atlas shrugged.

"if its thier business and its not a public institution"

So can they refuse Blacks, or Asians, or Texans?

"sounds JUST like an excerpt from atlas shrugged.

Shut up, stupid. You couldn't understand Atlas Shrugged if it was made into a grade-school level comic book.

As long as sodomy is illegal then the owners have a right to prevent that activity from happening on their premises.

True, but whether a public accommodation can discriminate against a gay couple is an open question for the states, as there is no federal laws on the subject last I looked.

That's my understanding too. I don't think it's cut and dried that such discrimination would be illegal in the U.S.

As long as sodomy is illegal then the owners have a right to prevent that activity from happening on their premises.

I love this argument. It's like you have absolutely no idea what sexual practices heterosexuals engage in.

By definition, any sex act between two men is sodomy so any "poo" encrusted "penis print" on their sheets or other male sex traces, is absolute evidence of their sodomy.
