Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Sunday, March 21, 2010

Georgian TV aired a fake report Sunday with the headline “Russia invades Georgia, Saakashvili dead”. The government controlled Imedi TV channel aired a 30-minute “news report” showing Russian troops invading Georgia and stating that Georgian President Michail Saakashviili had been killed.

Most viewers missed the initial short warning that the report was merely an example of possible events that could only occur “if Georgian society is not brought together against Russia's plans.”, leading thousands of individuals to rush out onto the streets.

Who new Clusterfox was the state media in Georgia?

We all know it is the official R-turd organ here in the US.

Clusterfox is already working on tomorrows barage of disaster stories in response to the major R-turd defeat today.

It will probably involve 3-headed mutant dinosaurs ridden by Glen Beck and Sarah Palin storming into the Senate chamber, eating every single Senator and then riding off into the sunset to the strains of "Dixie".

Were you raped by a Republican in the past or something? I'm trying to figure out why you have such anger directed towards someone who votes different than you. I don't understand how you can live life with such a horrible way of thinking.

But then of course when you meet Republicans in the real world you wouldn't dare say "R-turd", however witty it is.

"Were you raped by a Republican in the past or something?"

I assume Axe is a guy, so yes, the odds are yes.

You can't rape the willing

"You can't rape the willing"

There is statutory rape.

Our NATION was "raped" by Republicans and their asinine greedy inherent nature.

They've been arrogant, insincere and blatantly malicious as government officials forcing through both DOMA, DADT, Patriot Acts, enhanced interrogations and private no-bid contracting for TWO wars based on LIES, etc. They don't fund appropriate social programs in lieu of RELIGIOUS FUNDAMENTALISM. Even the national budget was considered a national secret throughout BushCo's eight long hideous years of lying and deceit. Republicans have proven utterly corrupt and should never be taken seriously - it's best to know that their intentions are exactly the opposite of what they state. Every single resolution that BushCo passed have contrarian naming like "The Blue Skies Act" which merely disengages Federal and State mandates for manufacturing infrastructure to be updated to new standards. "Mission Accomplished" wasn't to indicate Saddam has been toppled and it's time to come home - but rather meaning they invaded with the intention of staying forever.

Republicans possess ZERO credibility. I'm shocked that Right-wing hate radio still has any supporters, let alone those who praise BushCo. It merely emphasized how absolutely mind-wiped some people still act.

Again, I'm just shocked as shit that Rumsfeld hasn't been assassinated by any of our own disgruntled troops. Republican is the party of traditional hatred, greed and war.

andyhunet - from another thread, but this clearly shows the extreme incompetence of Republican voters and the extreme corruption of their party.

They are political "garbage" for all intensive purposes.

How Timothy Geithner's Bailout Plan Created the AIG Bonus ScandalBack in January and February, there were some votes to try and block excessive employee compensation at financial institutions receiving bailout money. In the Senate, this took the form of the Snowe amendment, which was supported by all 58 Democrats, and also by three Republicans. In the House, it took the form of the TARP Reform Act, which was favored by 242 Democrats and 18 Republicans. Overall, across the House and the Senate, only 10 Democrats, compared to 193 Republicans, voted against legislation that might have stopped the bonuses.

Wow... do not pass go... do not collect 200 dollars... proceed immediately to political rant that has nothing to do with the thread.

I'm merely pointing out to andyuhenet that the value of the dollar has declined to steeply under Republican heel that it should wordlessly "threaten" every greedy, war-hungry, imbecilic one of them. They shouldn't require anyone else to flip them the bird, let alone give them the time of day. Republicans are entirely corrupt and I look forward to the day when there are ZERO of them left, particularly their religious fundamentalists.

On topic - this seems like Russian propaganda gone entirely wrong? What was the point in creating this video moment? It was obviously performed with the intention of creating alarm. Did BushCo's coup in a box attempt to pass "emergency powers" legislation while the public were busy freaking out? Was McCain, Graham or Lieberman anywhere to be seen?

On topic - this seems like Russian propaganda gone entirely wrong?

Are you kidding me?

What was the point in creating this video moment?

Georgian nationalism. If you recall, they were recently invaded by Russia. The broadcast seems engineered to remind them of that... kindling anger, not fear.

Panic as Georgia Broadcasts Fake News of Russian Invasion

So? Fox News has been broadcasting fake news about a Soviet invasion since Obama got elected. At least Russia is an existing entity.

Nope, not joking. Putin was prepared for Saakashviili, why would you imagine this current propaganda isn't theirs as well? Remember that Saakashviili was attempting to pass legislation that provided independence from Russian military presence is what allegedly "provoked" Putin - who then pounced.

As for Georgian nationalism - I do not believe they want a war with Russia. Imo, if there are any warring it will be false flag military operations first murdering a lot of innocent people, military are legitimately called in, escalation as weapons routes are protected and perhaps even an eventual provisional government establishment. THEN the everyday Georgians would be rioting against their own government for at least one generation providing Russia the complete operations of Giorgia gas and oil minus the cost of doing it nicely.

Today, we are all fake Georgians.

But it is OK for News Organizations to lie and distort the truth! What harm can there be in that?

This was a broadcast put out on Georgian TV. Intentionally. You're not making any sense.

Please take it easy. You're giving potheads a bad name.

[sigh] Perhaps you are right - I always see the "conspiracy" in everything. Putin has nothing whatsoever to do with this propaganda piece that we know of.

More like, not enough pot.

You could be cannabis deficient. The good thing is, there's an easy cure.
