Even the Administration's Chief Actuary at HHS cannot provide cost analysis of latest Democrat health spending bill before the vote

Chief Actuary: ‘I regret that my staff and I will not be able to prepare our analysis within this very tight time frame, due to the complexity of the legislation.'

WASHINGTON, DC – The Obama administration's chief actuary at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) notified Republican leaders Saturday that the “very tight time frame” and “complexity” of the Democrats' health spending bill would prevent them from fully analyzing the costs and efficacy of the bill before the House voted on the legislation. The letter was in response to a request from House and Senate Republicans.

What's in the bill and how much does it cost?

The president doesn't even know! And supposedly it is his bill...

This is getting ridiculous.

To those who support this healthcare initiative, does this actuary's feedback even matter? If not, why?

The Congressional Budget Office employs an army of accountants and fiscal analysts who've poured over every detail of the bill and fixes. One actuary is one person. The CBO is non-partisan so no one can say they're taking sides. Obviously, a single appointed WH actuary would be viewed as more partisan by the opposition.

They don't WANT people to know what the bill will cost.

That is one of the MAJOR reason to push the bill threw as quickly as they can.

BTW, the so-called health care bill is reported to be 2700 pages long (~700,000 words). The economic planners and their lackeys are copying the mistakes of the Soviet Union.

I may be reading this wrong, but isn't that Health & Human Services acutary part of the Obama administration? He's actually making the Reps' point... being that this thing in its present form hasn't been scored.

Get ready to get fucked again middle class America.

He wouldn't have a clue anyway. This is the most incompetent administration ever, which is what you get when your cabinet room is full of political hacks, tax cheats, and other hired on just because they have a nice fading jump shot.

It's very telling that the lefties here who will spend hours on end telling the world how wonderful the health care bill is and how badly won't take 5 minutes to contribute to this thread and have avoided it like the plague. LOL To me if the administration's own actuarials (who presumably have been with HCR since its inception and every twist and turn) can't decipher it, how could congress, the bulk of whom have no training in such matters?

Why no response to oorah's very valid question in post #2, you guys? Too busy spewing the party line to give it any thought?

The fact that the left apparently sees no issue here (judging by their conspicuous absence on the thread) is just yet another gross example of how blind partisanship really fucks up people's minds.

are you trying to tell us that dems want to push through something without anyone knowing whats in it?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

"The Honorable Mitch McConnell "

Funniest thing I've read here.

As predicted, the factual costs of any and all health care reform are maligned purposefully, imo.

The actuary doesn't use Excel?! An entire staffload of statistics and projections experts cannot render a general cost?

This is a farce, just like Boehner claiming it's the Democrats legislation - no, it's what's leftover after Republicans decimated the only good components.

But I do agree with McConnell - this shouldn't be passed as Democrat legislation, so they should simply start over and OMIT THE REPUBLICANS.

Do you daily drink the koolaid of the democrats?

Just asking.

HELLO the demoncrats EXCLUDED the (ALL) republicans from both the House and Senate bills.
The Public forced Mr Obama and the Dems to the table at that ONE conference that was televised. You know the one where the Republicans got to speak for less than two hours and the Dems got over four hours.
This horrible bill IS the Democrats and only the Democrats legislation.
