Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Saturday, March 20, 2010

Two black Congress members and a gay member were verbally abused by anti-health care reform protesters Saturday. Rep. John Lewis (D-Georgia), said protesters Saturday repeatedly yelled "nigger" at him as he left a heath care meeting and walked to the Capitol. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) said he too was called "nigger" as he walked to the Capitol for a vote and was spat on by a protester who was arrested by Capitol Police. Protesters also yelled "faggot" at Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), who is openly gay, as he left the same meeting that Lewis attended.

I think Dems are idiots and corrupt for wanting to pass this bill, but race or sexual orientation have nothing to do with it. An idiot is an idiot regardless of race or sexual orientation.

In other words, let's just stick to more generalized insults.

The key words are 'I Think". I'm sure these protesters thought they did too.

MITCH

There'll be more and more of it. The whole MO of the FoxNews crowd and radio hosts is inflaming right wingers. It probably will come to violence. Someone will think it's justified. Remember the guy who opened fire on a church in East Tennessee to 'get some liberals'?

Taken today in Washington:

Teabagger Threatens Gun Violence

This is the same old bull shit from Dems. Level charges of racism and bigotry at those who oppose them. I'm sure there was some asshole yelling something out there, but they continue to paint all opposition with the same broad brush.

Hey Americanunity...remember the professor in Alabama...the extreme left winger? Or does your selective memory exclude her actions?

Oh yes, you Liberals are so saintly. I mean, it's not like Sutpak's life isn't hell. And I am sure other Dems who are voting no aren't receiving threats.

People are very angry regardless of what side they are on. Too much invested. On the one side, you have people not wanting America to radically change on the other you have people wanting a new entitlement.

Shouting 'nigger' and 'faggot' at members of Congress isn't appropriate behavior for any American.

The guy who threw dollar bills at Bob, the guy with Parkinsons's, dressed in business attire, acted reprehensibly while other yelled at the man.

What a shameful episode

Bob, the man with Parkinsons's has two Master's Degrees, a PhD, and was a nuclear engineer until Parkinson's took his livelihood away. Rush made it OK to mock Parkinson's patients with his mocking of Michael J Fox.

Here's Bob, the man with Parkinson's Disease who was mocked. The ONE class act in that episode. All the Teabaggers stood by and never uttered a word against the acts of the two idiots during the incident.:

Bob, the man with Parkinson's speaks about his experience with Teabaggers

brentrice1, talking about how bad the opposition folks are is a way of distracting people from the substance of the bill.

People show their true colors in the face of adversity. The people yelling are scumbags and so are those that sat idly by and allowed them to do so.

Exactly Mitch, you just stated it much more succinctly than I managed to.

The libs only have a couple tricks up their sleeve, so we shouldn't be surprised to see them over and over again.

not suprised at all...

BHO's problem is that he's brown... said it all along. You can start a war and kill untold numbers of civillians but "don't you going tryin' to fix health care"

'well, they ARE niggers and faggots.'

-Right Wingers Brain

Right on queue libs.

People have figured your game out.

Lewis and Frank's integrity can never be called
into question. If they said that racial and homophobic
slurs were hurled at them, it is 100% true.

They would never play the race/homo card to
make political hay. These esteemed gentlemen are
certainly beyond reproach.

Racism and homophobism are worse than genocide.

These hecklers should be tried, found guilty and
sentenced to sensitivity training.

I have been addressed as "fag" on numerous occasions;
after each occasion, I have had to undergo intense
post traumatic therapy in order to recover.

My sensibilities have, once again, been shaken to
the core. I shall need valium and a glass of
Courvoisier in order to compose myself.

Be Well.

OK, calling people n's and f's is wrong, and yet Liberals backed the confirmation of a judge who is biased against white people and especially white men.

Isn't it "funny" that someone wanting to elevate the U.S. to the organized standards of the world is called a "nigger and Faggot".

Boehner now threatening violsnce?

"Today's (Cincinnati) Enquirer (3/20/10) quotes Boehner saying that if Representative Steve Driehaus (D) votes for the bill "the Catholics will run him out of town. He may be a dead man. He can't go home to the West Side of Cincinnati."

The rhetoric is downright dangerous from the right. Across the board. Over the line. Reprehensible. It'll end up inciting violence. Is that what y'all want?

If not, YOU need to write Beck and Co and tell them to stop the rhetoric that speaks of fellow countrymen as 'dangerous'. They did it when Iraq was raging, questioning people's patriotism and inferring only THEY were patriotic and care about this country.

Ridiculous and dangerous rhetoric.

Someone will think it's actually okay to kill Congressmen who support bills they're against.

"organized standards of the world"? What the hell does that mean? Are you refering to countries like Greece for example, who has a huge financial problem and riots and general strikes? That is what you call organized?

yet Liberals backed the confirmation of a judge who is biased against white people and especially white men.

Oh poor, oppressed, white male Mitchwussy.

Keep it up libs.

Circumvent the Constitution and watch what happens. If you haven't noticed how angry the MAJORITY of the country is, you're naivete will have some painful consequences.

Just a bunch of bitter, white-trash losers on the wrong side of history, again..

Name calling is the left tactic.

The people who yelled those names are a disgrace.

Someone should have told them to shut up.

Go after the policy and leave the name calling at home..

That professor had a beef over not getting tenure. It had nothing to do with race.

Yelling 'nigger' and 'faggot' ARE racist and bigot remarks.

Y'all on the right had better bring a stop to it yourselves by calling every right wing show you can think of before this gets out of hand. If not, the blood's on your hands.

No amount of deflection will erase the events of the past couple days. Just last year a guy walked into a CHURCH on Sunday morning and blew away several people because talk radio convinced him 'liberals' were dangerous people.

The responsibility to do something about this is YOURS righties. It's YOUR spokesmen, now including John Boehner, threatening violence and acting in reprehensible ways.

Now, even the House Minority leader is getting in on the game:

"Congressman Boehner, the Minority Leader, carries the debate over health care and Steve Driehaus' vote to the most extreme and vicious. Today's Enquirer (3/20/10) quotes Boehner saying that if Driehaus votes for the bill "the Catholics will run him out of town. He may be a dead man. He can't go home to the West Side of Cincinnati."

some painful consequences.

Please provide specific examples just so we can all be clear.

#17 | Posted by AMERICANUNITY

I don't know what you are on but you need to step away from the broad brush and stop posting remarks that make you look crazy.

Name calling is the left tactic.

It all just depends on who is in office and how much hate there is form the opposing party.

Boehner says a fellow Congressman votes for a friggin' BILL "He may be a dead man. He can't go home to the West Side of Cincinnati."??

Sorry. Inexcusable. Completely. Absolutely. Unforgivable.

The right wing have been pushed further and further to the edge by right wing shock jocks who infer anyone not in 100% agreement is less of an American.

Shame on y'all. These are YOUR folks. Take action.

Americanunity, you sir, are a complete fucking idiot.

The G.O.P. are NOT my people. You dip shits think these Republicrats are conservatives?

You have no fucking idea. Blinded by your two party system. You will soon see.

#26 | Posted by RingMaster

Point taken--both sides--the extremes of both sides-- do this and does not help the 'side' they claim they are on.

Taxman...history should give you plenty of examples of what happens when a majority rises. I think we're naive to believe that it can't happen in this day and age. There are some seriously pissed off people out there and it is down right scary how easy it would be to organize with today's communications.

Just a bunch of bitter, white-trash losers on the wrong side of history, again..

Typical racist Liberal. What else would we expect?

I don't know what you are on but you need to step away from the broad brush and stop posting remarks that make you look crazy.

I'm drinking Green Tea and posting news stories about egregious acts in the name of opposing health care reform.

What's your excuse, Teabaggger? You've been in lock step with these people - talking about how dangerous this or that is.
If anything, YOU need to turn off your FoxNews and get a grip.

The Republican Party is out of control. When your minority leader is saying a fellow Ohio Congressman "MAY BE A DEAD MAN" and should go back to his district if he votes for a bill, it's just more fuel for a fire that's flamed by nutcases like you.

Please, MURPHY. You're just as bad as the people doing this stuff.

There are some seriously pissed off people out there and it is down right scary how easy it would be to organize with today's communications.

And if they acted out they would summarily be taken out.

CORRECTION:

Boehner inferred the Democrat Congressman had better NOT go back to his district if he wants to remain alive.

"Isn't it "funny" that someone wanting to elevate the U.S. to the organized standards of the world is called a "nigger and Faggot"."

No, the deems are niggers and faggots because votes are being bought for special considerations. Otherwise, there would not be enough yes votes and the bill would be doa.

Typical racist Liberal. What else would we expect?

That is true. Look at prop 8. But it was all blamed on the Mormons. We don't dare call out blacks when they are hateful. They can do no wrong.

When's the last time you saw Democrats mocking a disabled people or calling Congressmen names or saying someone's life may be in jeopardy if they vote a certain way on a bill in Congress?

Taxman...why don't you do me a favor. For a moment, let's indulge ourselves in some stereotypes. Which stereotype do you believe most police officers and military personnel would fit?

When's the last time you saw Democrats mocking a disabled people

To be fair, a lot of dems mocked a mentally disabled president Bush

Americanunity...most non-office holding dems are decent human beings, just like most non-office holding repubs. The problem is you fucking whack-job leftists and righties.

How about this for some liberal thugs? Attacking and yelling slurs at a conservative who happens to be black.

Foreign terrorists get trials and rights, angry Americans get summarily taken out. Interesting.

Which stereotype do you believe most police officers and military personnel would fit?

The law abiding ones. Don't forget the military either. I hope some moronic Tea Baggers attempt some type of revolt, they will be put down with swift force just like every other rebellion in our history.

taxman, you apparently have never read the oath that a soldier takes. I seem to remember a little rebellion taking place that was quite successful.

This whole thing has been fanned into a mob mentality by right wing media. Plain and simple.

angry Americans get summarily taken out.

I would hope anyone who takes up arms against this great country of ours would be taken out, if taken alive then they are due a trial. However, why not just save the taxpayers the money. It's not like this country would be worse off without these people.

the united states is now a country that is decimated by it's own disgusting vomit!

LIBERAL DICTIONARY

MISOGYNIST - Person who clings to that archaic idea that people should be treated equally under the law regardless of gender

Right wing media? Dude, where do you get this shit? Have you ever looked at the total viewership for Fox News that you guys like to rant against? Yeah it blows CNN and MSNBC out of the water, but so does the Cartoon Network. Total viewership of "right wing media" does not come close to accounting for the majority of the 300 million+ folks that are fed up.

Brent you are delusional if you think the Tea Baggers can institute a violent revolt akin to the American Revolution. It would end up more along the lines of the Whiskey Rebellion or Shay's Rebellion.

Taxman, yes God forbid a group restore the constitution.

in the ghetto if your a faggot you are in some serious shit.

Where is the 'mob mentality' AU?

There are three idiots at a protest yelling slurs that are disgusting.

You are being hyperbolic and seriously need to calm down.

One can only hope America gets tired of these Tea Party folks and the FBI is taking pictures and names.

Boehner's statement wasn't from a Teabagger. It was from the Minority Leader of the U.S. Congress. He's gone too far. I hope the FCC starts clamping down on FoxNews. They're little more than propagandists in the mold of Joseph Goebbels, and the Tea Party are getting closer and closer to a Krystallnacht mob.

It started like this in Germany. Protests, angry words, then what some considered justifiable violence.

Taxman, who said anything about the "tea baggers?"

You two party sheeple think you can lump these folks into nice tiny groups like you Republicrats. There is a tiny group in D.C. waving signs and yelling slogans. That's nothing, you have a pissed off country.

Right, the constitution is a thing of the past. If there is a challenge, the Supreme Court will determine the constitutionality of any bill.

This whole thing has been fanned into a mob mentality by right wing media. Plain and simple.

#48 | Posted by AMERICANUNITY

They are going to use this as an excuse to try to bring back the unfairness doctrine to shut up the opposition, a la Chavez or Castro.

Hah, you want the FCC to clamp down on free speech and in the same breath you compare a cable television channel to Goebbels?

Do you ever read your own posts?

MURPHY

I could care less what you say. You sound like the Tea Party people every day on this site.

The only revolution by people in the tea party will be at the ballot box in November.

It will be a tsunami.

Bring back the alien and sedition act!

#49

This is what Liberals are reall made of. They are just like Bush.

Murphy you are so milquetoast it is stomach-turning.

he only revolution by people in the tea party will be at the ballot box in November.

The average person won't vote for the guy who is supported by bigots.

taxman, you really don't understand American Civics do you? If they want to make a change, they can amend the constitution. If they did that with State ratification, none of this would be happening.

Ya, BRENT, Joseph Goebbels would be brimming with pride if FoxNews were his domain.

Inflammatory rhetoric, talking about how 'those people' aren't patriotic, Obama is 'dangerous', fellow Americans were 'on the side of terrorists', etc. It's all too familiar. If you're too blind to see the similarities, your bad.

The first resort of someone who doesn't really have a point to make is to attack someone's posts like you're doing.

"One can only hope America gets tired of these Tea Party folks and the FBI is taking pictures and names."

Nixon would be so proud. And J. Edgar Hoover too.

AU, you'll never hear me call out for HuffPo or MSNBC to be taken down, no matter WHAT they say.

You libs on the other hand, can't stand opposing ideas and want to regulate them and shut them down.

Brent, I am a lawyer, I know more about con law than you. What amendment to the constitution is needed? This is simple legislation, it's akin to a tax cut or any other run of the mill legislation. If republicans don't like it they can seek a majority and attempt to change the legislation when they are in power.

Notice that nearly all the right winger's posts are attacking others posts?

Where is YOUR contempt for the actions of today's actions, for the assholes who mocked the Parkinson's victim, those who stood by, Boehner's 'dead man' comment about a fellow Congressman, people talking about taking up arms?

Bunch of sick people is what you are. The sad thing is you don't seem to know it.

Article 1 Section 7 Lawman.

Tens of thousands of well behaved Americans came to protest this POS bill.

If and I repeat "IF" these dispicable names where yelled by a few dimwit protesters, you can bet your bottom dollar that the entire MSM will only focus on the name calling vs. the true spirit of what the protest was all about.

Film at 11....

Bring back the alien and sedition act!

#65 | Posted by taxman

OK, now I know you are just messing around just to push people's button's. I should have figured it out earlier instead of biting.

Well--I must be doing something right! lol

AU says I sound like the tea party folks and Kreator says I'm milquetoast....

American Unity, I don't demand apologies from every leftie every time some douche bag does something repulsive. If someone wants to call Barney Frank some sexual slur, that's his MO, the guy is probably a closet case that can't come to terms with his own sexuality.

What is amusing is your attempt to paint the conservative movement based on a couple of dipshits.

What does an Amendment to the constitution have to do with Art. 1 Sec. 7 of the constitution? Are you saying that Art. 1 Sec. 7 is not being followed? If that is the case the Supreme Court will overturn the legislation. It's called checks and balances. And here you portray yourself as some sort of civics expert.

Taxman--

And the States (2 now) are passing legislation for their state not following the insurance mandates of the HC bill for their peopel living in their state.

That will be a great case for the SCOTUS.

It doesn't have anything to do with an Amendment.

Funny to see a lawyer for this bill. You Ambulance chasing fucks are half the reason we got to where we are combined with a lack of people being accountable for their own expenses.

Tort reform is the answer.

AU, you'll never hear me call out for HuffPo or MSNBC to be taken down, no matter WHAT they say.

They aren't calling anyone nigger, mocking disabled, talking about how dangerous this person or that is because of their political views, or anything of the kind.

You wouldn't get the difference between factually based opinions and inflammatory rhetoric it were spelled out for you. They thought it was OK to mock the Parkinson's patient the other day because of Rush's actions with Michael J Fox. A guy mowed down people in a church last year to kill 'liberals' because of the inflammatory rhetoric spewed every day on right wing media about 'them'.

They're calling people 'niggers' and the best you can do is argue with 'the opposition' instead of offering any opposition of your own to these kinds of acts.

Oh? Look up some of the stuff Huffington has said about Roger Ailes.

Article 1 Section 7 --if referring to the yeas and nays to vote for a bill--the slaughter house rule is no longer in the picture as the Dems believe they have enough votes to vote up or down.

Tort reform is the answer.

They say that'll save maybe $5 Billion a year. Wow.

You Ambulance chasing fucks are half the reason we got to where we are combined with a lack of people being accountable for their own expenses.

Once again you have proven your ignorance. Just because I said I'm a lawyer doesn't make me a litigator (here's a hint, genius, look at my handle).

And I have said all along tort reform should have been included in this bill. But once again, you would rather insult first than try to make sure you are making accurate statements.

"Tens of thousands of well behaved Americans came to protest this POS bill."

[citation needed]

Oh? Look up some of the stuff Huffington has said about Roger Ailes.

He's the President of FoxNews who allows exactly the kind of inflammatory rhetoric that incites people to do crazy things.

I still haven't seen a right winger quit attacking others posts and calling everything that's happened this weekend reprehensible.

You guys don't get a pass anymore taxman. You'll see civility from the constituency when they are treated with it by the representatives.

And the States (2 now) are passing legislation for their state not following the insurance mandates of the HC bill for their peopel living in their state.

Right, this is going to come down to whether the Feds have the authority to trump the states here. Congress is generally given a wide berth.

Oh, I get it AU. It is okay for the left to do it if it is against someone from the right.

Crystal clear. Thanks.

AU, read murphey's posts and pay attention.

You want to see a post without an attack in it?

You're a douche-bag.

Dammit, couldn't bring myself to do it, guess you're right.

Let's see some of those articles, BRENT. I don't read Huffington often.

The 'mob mentality' was a peaceful protest against this incredibly unpopular HC monstrosity.

And then three idiots who yell names. AU paints the entire protest as racist.

Didn't hear the Boehner comment--will wait to see his reply--because I am positive he didn't mean for the guy to get killed as AU puts it.

Crazy insane person shoots other people--and AU blames a protest movement against being taxed to death.

I can't call “bull shit” as I was not in Longworth all day and it is a huge building but I was there from 2:00pm to 3:30pm visiting congressional people on the health bill. As a matter of fact Congressman Elijah Cummings took time from his day to give our group directions to a office we couldn't find. The only bad behavior I heard and witnessed came from staffers in Bobby Rush's office when they were taunting a couple who came from Illinois but not from Rush's district and they were not allowing them to sign Rush's visitors book. It wasn't racial but it was dam laud and very unprofessional. As for this allegation of racism, the halls were filled with capital police, it would be impossible IMO to have anything happen at this level without a police report. If that was not enough to keep people in line the mall and connecting roads were guarded by a whole lot if serious riot police in body armor and holding urban assault rifles. This is the third protest I have been to in the past 8 months in DC and I have NEVER seen this many police or fire power.
We ran into Pelosi and her possy in Longworth, she had body guards on all sides and a staffer following behind videotaping everything that happened in her travels. She also had armed guards at her office door. As for the racism, I say sad if it happed but I really doubt it.

And Tax--anger is a great motivator for many people and many causes.

How do you think Obama got elected?

I'll post the articles when you guys apologize for the video I posted earlier with the SEIU thugs beating the black man.

Tit for tat.

Tort reform is the answer.

They say that'll save maybe $5 Billion a year. Wow.

Let's hear it, big guy. What Constitutional infraction, and what action are you gonna take? Come on, you're such a tough guy and all. Don't chicken out now.

Let's see some of those articles, BRENT. I don't read Huffington often.

By the way, where is your rejection of the actions of the SEIU thugs in that video I posted? You want us to apologize for a couple of assholes in D.C., we want you to apologize for these assholes.

The problem with the GOP is that even if they win in 2010 and 2012 they won't repeal Obamacare, they'll just tinker around with it to make it "better" but not get rid of it. The GOP always seems to cave in when they get power.

Well, BRENT

Boehner isn't my rep. Lee Terry is. When Lee Terry says something offensive, I will denounce it.

This is more of your two party sheeple attitude. You guys don't get how this is supposed to work. These guys aren't supposed to represent a party or even the nation. They are supposed to represent their district and in the case of the Senate, their state.

Amen Mitch. Need single term limits, banning of any money coming from outside of the representatives district, and a repeal of the 17th amendment.

The problem with the GOP is that even if they win in 2010 and 2012 they won't repeal Obamacare, they'll just tinker around with it to make it "better" but not get rid of it. The GOP always seems to cave in when they get power.

109 | Posted by Docsmooth FLAG: POSTER CHILD FOR TEA BAGGERS

AMERICANUNITY, nice come back Potsie....

It's likely more than 5 billion--but the dems are so in the pockets of the trial lawyers--tort reform would never pass.

The object of this HC bill was to lower costs.

Everyone admits costs will not be lower--in fact, they will rise.

There is waste fraud and abuse and that will continue.

Like charging $1,000 for 6 hospital gowns...

The mandates and taxes are going to hit everyone and this is a jobs killer.

Employers will drop their HC benefit packages to employees because it is cheaper to pay the fine.

And again--the CBO has this in the red and no reduction in the deficit when they add in the Doctor fix it bill and the only counting the medicare cuts once...

And people who get this are out there protesting.

The 17th amendment has got to go. If state legislatures chose senators I am sure there would be less unfunded mandates. This bill will be very bad for the states. If the U.S. senate was made up of state legislators, things woould be different.

Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States...

MURPHY

And you're the House or Senate Parliamentarian, eh? A Constitutional scholar? Sorry, if Constitutional scholars or the House and Senate Parliamentarian say it's OK with them it's OK with me and should be OK with you.

You're forgetting the Senate has to debate the House changes and approve the bill. We're a week away from that.

Yep, the sad thing is that most people aren't even aware of how things were before the 17th amendment. There used to be accountability.

The GOP always seems to cave in when they get power.

#110 | Posted by mitch

Poor leadership in the past.

Let's hope that it's better this time around.

I like to believe they learned their lesson last time around.

Employers will drop their HC benefit packages to employees because it is cheaper to pay the fine.

They're already dropping coverage left and right because they can't afford the premiums, or they're passing on more and more of the cost of premiums and co-pays because it's becoming simply unaffordable.

I don't trust 'em. They were out of control before the Dems got in. The only reason they look good now is because the Dems are so off the chart they would make JFK look like an extremist right winger.

As for this allegation of racism, the halls were filled with capital police, it would be impossible IMO to have anything happen at this level without a police report.

Read the article. It happened outside the Capitol Bldg.

When this bill passes, many people working for small business will lose their jobs as employers try to go below the 50 employee threshhold. Others will lose their employer provided health care, but there won't be exchanges in place until 2014. Also, more jobs will be shiped overseas, and that's not even counting the effect of cap and tax. And then Liberals will whine aboud horrible corporations mistreating people, not realizing their job killing policies are to blame.

#122 | Posted by MURPHY

I would have no problem going back to voting Republican, but I won't do it in 2010. They have to prove to me they are going to hit the rewind button, not just press stop.

It has to be passed with yeas and nays--not the deem and pass as was proposed by slaughter..

That seems to be off the table.

And the Senate Parlimentarian has the issues in front of him if the reconciliation bill can be voted on in the Senate.

It can only have budget matters.

So when they post the Recon bill we'll see how many bribes are in there--who got bought and for how much.

And some of the recon items may be found to be excluded because they don't follow the rules of reconciliation.

Hey did the brother of that changed yes vote get the judge nomination Obama promised?

OK, so now it's going to be a discussion on the right about how bad the bill is, how bad 'leftie posters' are, or the Constitutionality of when the bill is signed?

No disdain for the mobs acts today and Thursday or Boehner's comments? Gotcha.

What would be fantastic is if we could lock all of the senators and congressmen up in their districts. No trips to Washington, no dinners with lobbyists or ganging up in back office deals. Just meeting with their constituents day in and day out, and voting remotely.

AU, where is your disdain for the video I posted? You can't have it both ways partner. I'll call our douche-bags douche-bags when you call your douche-bags douche-bags.

Deal?

Brent, and no congressional gym showers! LOL!

I don't blame you for skepticism.

I would vote for a conservative before a republican.

You are in Michigan--right?

Han'[t the entire state been corrupted by the Dems? Or are the repubs in your state just as bad? Like Illinois?

Hasn't the entire...

Or airport bathroom stall meetings!

Seriously though, in today's day and age, the best thing we could do is keep them out of D.C.

What would be fantastic is if we could lock all of the senators and congressmen up in their districts. No trips to Washington, no dinners with lobbyists or ganging up in back office deals. Just meeting with their constituents day in and day out, and voting remotely.

How about they only work or in session for three months out of the year?

Oh--and they have to wear stickers of who is giving them money.

I just hate to see interests outside of the district pump in money. What signal does that send? If a party wants to beat someone, all this national money pours into what should be a local election. It is wrong wrong wrong.

AU--if this story is true--it was three people who yelled out obscenities--not a MOB.

It has to be passed with yeas and nays--not the deem and pass as was proposed by slaughter..

They could have done it either way. The GOP did 'Deem and Pass' 36 times 2005-2006. Never heard this incessant whining about it from Dems back then. The GOP passed over $2 Trillion worth of unfunded tax breaks via reconciliation. Where were the right wing protesters then? Twice the amount - NOT paid for. Straight to the deficit. Not a peep from the right.

While we're discussing apologizing for actions that aren't our own (which in itself is a ridiculously liberal idea), I'd like to add Sean Penn to your list AU.

The Repubs control the state senate in Michigan and only this year they decided to get tought on no more taxes. As far as candidates for gov, no one exciting on either side. This is a very blue and unionized state. Republicans in the west side of the state tend to be more conservative (especially on social issues). But there are many who are not so conservative especially in Southeast Michigan. Now we got a Republican "nerd" running for gov. What an unusual campgain that is. Is the guy running for HS president or governor? What a joke.

To put this in a little perspective, the same sort of thing happened in the '60s when LBJ got Medicare rammed through - on top of the Civil Rights Act. There are huge numbers of people in this country who wanted then - and want now - for it to remain 1955 forever, with no one but straight white Anglo-Saxon Protestant males having any rights or benefits whatsoever, much less having minorities serving in public office or having any authority over STR8 WASP men.

This isn't really about health care, folks. This is about a Congress with minority members and a mixed-race President having what some people consider to be the effrontery to challenge a system set up to make and keep rich white people rich - and in power - forever.

Sean Penn said that critics of Chavez should be sent to jail for calling him a dictator, yeah, that'll show'em! And he said something about hoping people died painfully of rectal cancer.

AU - to be fair, let's add the fact that the IRS had record tax receipts after the tax breaks were passed.

BUT...you're right, a lot of the right was complicit, that doesn't make it right, and that doesn't justify it continuing.

AU--if this story is true--it was three people who yelled out obscenities--not a MOB.

So what? It's a mob mentality.

You saw the video of the Parkinson's patient? If not, check it out. No one said a word to the couple guys who got right in the victim's face either.

24 Hour Tea Party People Mob Assault Man with Parkinson's

Martylerwhore...if it was about race, then how did they win?

You didn't think that one through very well did you.

MURPHY

Something made them think it was just fine to yell 'nigger' and 'faggot' at Congressmen. Whatever you care to call it I call those who stood by just as guilty for not speaking out against the offenders.

AU, where were the people to stop the guys in the video I posted? You can't have it both ways.

While we're discussing apologizing for actions that aren't our own (which in itself is a ridiculously liberal idea), I'd like to add Sean Penn to your list AU.

#140 | Posted by brentrice1

Gee, next time I'm standing next to him and he calls someone 'faggot' or 'nigger' I'll be the first one to call him an asshole and shout him down. That work for you, deflector?

That would work fine. Makes about as much sense as telling me I should have done something to stop those guys 12 hours later and 1,800 miles away doesn't it?

AU, where were the people to stop the guys in the video I posted? You can't have it both ways.

#148 | Posted by brentrice1

They taunted the guy a long time. I thought I'd post a SHORT video because your attention span is so short. I see several people only feet from them. Are you on a braille computer?

Are you deflecting? You don't seem to be concerned with the left beating down a black man?

They called him a n***** too, is that what it takes to enrage you? Was the beating not enough?

BRENT

You're painfully obtuse and obviously deflecting. Pitiful.

Got it, just wanted to get you on the record that it only bothers you if the other side does it.

Boehner isn't my rep. Lee Terry is. When Lee Terry says something offensive, I will denounce it.

He's the House Minority Leader of your party.

It wouldn't matter if he was or wasn't your Congressman, you obviously agree with all that's been said the past couple of days. You'd better give Clayton Bigsby a ring. He needs you! LOL

FRONTLINE: Clayton Bigsby

Oh? I'm a Republican?

Thanks for filling me in. I don't subscribe to parties. That's entirely too frat-boy for my blood.

Parties work together for the party, not for the people they should represent.

You are a party sheep.

Brent Rice can lie all he wants but it's pretty obvious what party he usually votes for.

Nice Chappelle, at least you have a sense of humor.

Jackass (how fitting), I had to write in all of my candidates, and save your "you threw away your vote" bullshit, because voting for a party is the only way you really throw away a vote.

Seriously dude? McCain? You think I would have voted for that fucking guy? Hillary would get my vote before he would have.

meh that's not right that's how you lose your legitimacy when you start doing crap like calling people names.

Although you have to consider it could have been a liberal planted at the protest and it was really just one guy yelling it.

Never trust anything the media tells you.

I don't buy a liberal plant, they think they are too good to rub shoulders with someone that has an opposing viewpoint. I'm sure there were plenty of nut jobs yelling offensive shit, but you'll get that in any crowd. Plenty of examples on both sides.

Got it, just wanted to get you on the record that it only bothers you if the other side does it.

BRENT

Another deflection. I get it. Anytime I hear someone called a nigger I speak up against it. If I heard a Congressman suggest Driehaus may be killed if he returns to his district I'd call the FBI. Boehner was stupid enough to say it to a National Review reporter. Tanning cream has fried his brain.

I don't buy a liberal plant, they think they are too good to rub shoulders with someone that has an opposing viewpoint.

Half my friends are Republicans. Some watch FoxNews.

They aren't crazy racist assholes or they wouldn't be my friends.

I don't really give a shit about Boehner, he's trying to cast himself and his party as a part of this awakening and the whole thing is bullshit. The only thing his team has managed to do is fuck us a little bit less than the Dems. Them ain't bragging rights.

I have a Congressman and two Senators that I give a damn about. If the rest of the country did the same, we wouldn't have these situations.

Oh? I'm a Republican?

Thanks for filling me in. I don't subscribe to parties.

BRENT

One of the "New Libertarians" ashamed they voted for Bush.

No "Independent" would stand up for what these people said or be so disparaging of 'liberals' (which is a misnomer catch-all phrase for anyone who isn't in lock step with Teabagger Republicans).

I don't really give a shit about Boehner, he's trying to cast himself and his party as a part of this awakening and the whole thing is bullshit.

He's gone way too far.

BTW, are you a racist? I haven't heard you disparage the people who actually did this Thursday or today, just 'libs'.

Pretty one sided for a supposed independent, aren't ya?

I'm not ashamed I voted for Bush, but had I known where it would have led I wouldn't have done it. At the time I thought he was the right choice.

Libertarians are a party partner. You're going to have to work at this, I know it is a new concept for you. And at what point did I stand up for these people? Do me a favor and cut and paste that one. Is this what you do? You make shit up to support your arguments?

Plenty of examples on both sides.

Let's see ONE during an event over health care this past year. ONE. One racist remark, one disabled person being taunted. One. Come on, you say there are PLENTY of examples. Let's see ... one.

Would you like me to go through the paper and denounce all of the guys that shot or robbed people? Will it make your life easier tomorrow if I speak out against these guys?

What's the fucking point? Is it going to take back what they said? Am I racist? Do I hate white people? No. I'm of Dominican heritage you dumb-ass.

BRENT, you've spent all your time attacking posters or 'libs' this entire thread. Hardly a peep about what these people did.

Now, let's see ONE example of 'libs' calling someone a nigger or taunting a disabled person the past year during a health care event. One.

You said there are 'PLENTY' of examples. So, let's see one.

Dickhead, go back and look at the video I posted. Past 12 months. They called the guy a n***** and beat him down, a bunch of SEIU thugs.

Would you like me to go through the paper and denounce all of the guys that shot or robbed people? Will it make your life easier tomorrow if I speak out against these guys?

Obtuse. Read the title of the thread and get back to me.

So what if you're Dominican? Hutus killed Tutsi's too. It's the color of your heart not the color of your skin. Racists come in all colors.

You're extremely obtuse.

So what if you're Dominican? What's that supposed to mean? If you're hispanic or black as coal it doesn't make any difference. Hutu's massacered Tutsis and vice versa.

It's not the color of your skin, it's the color of your heart. Racists come in all shades.

I don't expect you to apologize for someone else calling me a n*****.

Excuse the double posts. The browser hung up and I didn't think it posted.

How many times are you going to post that?

Oh, so now it comes down to name calling, eh?

You're as easy a read as Dr. Seuss, tough guy.

You're trying to say that the Hutu's and Tutsis were murders borne of racism?

You need to bone up on your history. Those are different tribes, not races.

I've been calling you names this entire time. There is no coming down to it now.

I've seen the pictures. With all of the racism and accusations of communism, it's like the worst of the 50's and 60's combined. How sad.

BRENT

FIRST, you brought up the female professor in Alabama who shot people because she was crazy and didn't get tenure as your excuse, then you bring up an unrelated SEIU incident - all to try to explain away by deflection your Teabagger compadres calling Congressmen 'niggers' and 'faggots'. You've given Boehner a pass. You claim to be an 'independent'. Ya, uh, sure.

You were obvious the first couple posts of this thread. Then, you start in on the 'douchebag' and other childish namecalling. What are you? 15?

I'm glad these episodes will point the finger at the Teabaggers and expose them and their cohorts in Congress as the despicable dweebs they are.

Might I share in your commiseration? I've loaded this bong in your honor.

.... Barney Frank (D-Mass.)...

Yeah, that's much of what this is about. That it surprises anyone is the mystery.

The rightwing of America have gone off the rails. Not a pretty sight. At least the bulk of moderates in this country will finally get to see the true colors of the teabaggers and the GOPhers who suck up to them. If they keep this up, the Republicans may manage to snatch defeat out from the jaws of victory in November.

BRENT

I watched your video. All I saw was a fight. The first person you see on the ground is a black SEIU guy with Gladney, in front of dozens of non-SEIU people, claiming he was attacked "by the black guy" and the SEIU guys saying he hit first. Oh, he RAN to the cop car when it buzzed past. Seemed fine. He wasn't a Teabagger or conservative. He was selling "Don't Tread On Me" flags outside. He was not a participant in the rally or expressing a view. He was there to SELL MERCHANDISE.

Then I clicked through to the linked video of an anti-SEIU protest a couple days later with Kenneth Gladney in a wheelchair and some Teabagger doing all his talking for him. Smelled like a lawsuit baiting incident. The SEIU guy was black too. I trust Gladney had a Ricky Bobby miracle and walked again (sniff sniff) whoever started it (*sarcasm*).

The charges were dropped, so I guess none of the dozens of people outside - including the elderly woman - verified Gladney's story. He got his 15 seconds of fame.

Either way, what point was your point in the linked video regarding excusing the actions of the subjects of this'Nigger/Faggot" calling thread, the Parkinson's taunters, the guy shooting up a church of 'libs', or Boehner's remarks about "He may be a dead man. I wouldn't go back to West Cincinnati", in reference to Congressman Driehaus?

MODER8

Exactly. The right wing are off their rockers with hate. No doubt this will make the network news. Even on this thread, it was all about right wingers trying unsuccessfully to deflect from the actions of the Teabaggers they clearly support. Pitiful.

Look, not all repubicans and teabaggers are racist.

But if you're a racist, you're probably a republican or teabagger.

And a passionate one too, now that we have a president whose skin doesnt look like yours.

Look, not all repubicans and teabaggers are racist. But if you're a racist, you're probably a republican or teabagger.

Yes and yes. Of course there are black Democrats who are prejudiced against whites, but with our history everything isn't equal on that subject.

Teabagger spits on Congressman Cleaver:

Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) just released a statement detailing an incident today in he says an anti-reform protestor spat Cleaver as he entered the Capitol. The man who allegedly spat on the three-term incumbent Democrat was later arrested Capitol by police, Cleaver's office said.

From the statement from Cleaver's office:

This afternoon, the Congressman was walking into the Capitol to vote, when one protester spat on him. The Congressman would like to thank the US Capitol Police officer who quickly escorted the others Members and him into the Capitol, and defused the tense situation with professionalism and care. After all the Members were safe, a full report was taken and the matter was handled by the US Capitol Police. The man who spat on the Congressman was arrested, but the Congressman has chosen not to press charges. He has left the matter with the Capitol Police.

(pretty magnanimous considering)

West NY Democrat and Chronicle Newspaper reports:

Feds investigate brick thrown at Slaughter's office in Niagara Falls

On the eve of the historic health care reform vote, federal officials are investigating a brick thrown through a window of the Niagara Falls office of U.S. Rep. Louise Slaughter, D-Fairport.

The incident occurred early Friday, when no one was in the office, said Slaughter spokeswoman Victoria Dillon. There was no note or message on the brick, she said.

“Because she is a federal official, they're taking this very seriously,” Dillon said. “The U.S. Capitol police and the FBI are working on it.”

What's next Teabaggers? Torches and pitchforks? Gunfire?

- "I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live by the light that I have. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong."

- Abraham Lincoln

I'm sure there was some asshole yelling something out there, but they continue to paint all opposition with the same broad brush.

If there was just one guy doing it, he did it several times. The others did nothing to stop him or to apologize for his behaviour---they are as reprehensible as he is. It is like a crowd of people watching a beating or a rape.

Hey Americanunity...remember the professor in Alabama...the extreme left winger? Or does your selective memory exclude her actions?

Your deflection does nothing to mitigate the actions of the crowd, or the threat of violence. As usual, the "party of accepting responsibility" proves itself to be the party of deflection.

It was a crowd chanting 'Nigger!', Rep. Lewis and several others walking with him reported. 13 times.

BBOB, the DR Teabagger sympathizers are not prone to responsible, social mores. Everything's justified in their minds. They use apocalyptic rhetoric, are mean as snakes, and consider what most people would think is WAY out of bounds as justified.

The scary thing is so did the shooter in East Tennessee who specifically went guns blazing into a church and shot several men, women, and children to death because he'd become convinced by talk radio and FoxNews 'liberals' were going to ruin the world.

Photographed yesterday a the Capitol

Ah the rise of the white trash.

Can't they just join the military and die in some battle protecting the rights of a US corporation in a foreign land?

well, this is who and what they are. was there ever any doubt?

now with Boener's threat and Coburn's, too... these people are going to be tossed out sooner than i thought.

Nig & fag are to be used when you can't spull soshili... soshalis... soceles... er, commie.

To be somewhat serious for a moment, tossing around such terms (nig & fag) does nothing to advance one's argument. Probably the same could be said for baby killer, though baby killer reflects more on one's chosen policy vs one's race or sexual preference.

All that said, tossing around such pejoratives doesn't negate that side's otherwise valid objections. It does serve to provide the opposition with a convenient way to discredit the other side's viewpoint.

Ignorance begets ignorance. The fears about health care reform are completely unfounded. While this will expand health care spending in the short term it will reduce it in the long term by removing unnecessary emergency room visits and providing preventive care. Ideally we should have had a public option for insurance but the insurance lobbyist really attacked that one.

The "tickle down" theory which is what you are supporting Oohrah by being against health care reform is fundamentally wrong. How much debt and pain must the US experience for you to realize this?

FUR-
To your point about cost reduction, debt, etc... here's a thread on the DR's Back Page:
www.drudge.com

Your take on that?

All that said, tossing around such pejoratives doesn't negate that side's otherwise valid objections.

99% of the public don't like bigots and rednecks - wherever they're from. The 1% of Americans who watch Fox have allied themselves with the GOP ... obviously. Same shrill rhetoric, debunked talking points, same breathless hyperbole. They'll hurt the entire GOP by continuing in the manner they do.

It does serve to provide the opposition with a convenient way to discredit the other side's viewpoint.

Racism, bigotry, and televised repetition of obviously debunked right wing talking points - compounded by a glaring lack of knowledge of what they're protesting (think 'Czars')- works wonders in turning most people off and dismissing the right as hyperbolic, dishonest, unworthy of trust, and not someone you'd want even walking on your lawn. Most Americans are pretty sensible and decent to others. This crowd has taken political activism to the level of elephant shit and dragging the GOP along for the ride.

A serious question for you, AU (or anyone else who wants to chime in):

As one who, I presume, supports what's about to be voted upon today... is there ANY legitmate viewpoint/argument against this legislation?

OOHRAH

If the Teabaggers and FoxNews hounds were as nice as you are it'd be a refreshing change to another time. As things are, the image America's been getting night after night of the GOP since Obama's election isn't flattering by any measure. After the mountain of distrust W earned for the GOP they've been steadily exposing themselves as shrill, acrimonious, bitter partisans who aren't working on behalf of average Americans, merely looking towards the next election for their political skins.

9/11 was the only reason Americans continued to support the GOP as strongly as they did in the 2000's. They blew that trust with Iraq. The GOP had a chance to renew it, but haven't. The more people find out about HCR, the longer the Teabaggers protest the next 'big thing' the more America will come to see the GOP's empty attempts to scare them - again - as cynical and immature.

The fall elections are a long way off. I don't think the GOP will be feeling so heady come November. Not after months of TV segments featuring Teabaggers who've moved on to the next empty talking point that doesn't pan out they wont.

AU-
As one who, I presume, supports what's about to be voted upon today... is there ANY legitmate viewpoint/argument against this legislation?

I couldn't tell from your response, because it was about the Rep party, Iraq, etc.

To your point about the Rep party opposing HCR... Reps have been in favor of reform. Just not the size and scope of what's on the Dem radar. And with Dems totally running the show, Rep initiatives don't see the light of day.

The debate over HCR reminds me of how Dems demagogued the Rep-led initiatives to reform Medicare, Social Security, etc. Do you see any similarities, at all, in terms of fear mongering? Or is fear mongering solely owned by Reps?

As one who, I presume, supports what's about to be voted upon today... is there ANY legitmate viewpoint/argument against this legislation?

No argument in my house. The insurance industry killed my sister through rescission days after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Same company she had for years just dropped her like that in a very surreptitious way. My wife and I have to buy on the individual market - for which we pay up the wazoo. Over double what it was 10 years ago, and we haven't had more than the flu a few times.

I want to buy into the government pool of plans. I don't want to get dropped if my wife or I get sick. You've heard the personal stories the past year. I've dealt with the consequences of the current system in personally and financially difficult ways.

Reps have been in favor of reform. Just not the size and scope of what's on the Dem radar.

They had every opportunity to do just that for years but spent their time talking about tort reform and never addressed that either when they had the whole enchilada. Talk is cheap.

AU-
So are you saying there's no legitmate reason to oppose today's vote?

What of the Dems who are having heartburn with it? What of the huge number of polled Americans who oppose it? What of them? Illegimate concerns?

Dennis Kucinich's vote reversal should be illustrative of what's going on here. He doesn't like the bill, but his larger concern is protecting Obama's presidency... a presidency staked on passing HCR.

If this legislation was so good, wouldn't there be more universal support out there? There are legitmate arguments on both sides.

As bad as this one is, we haven't see these protests and riots.

"Thousands Protest Economic Collapse in Russia"

MOSCOW - Russian police broke up an opposition demonstration in Moscow on Saturday, one of around 50 rallies across the country with thousands protesting falling living standards under Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
A coalition of opposition groups declared a national "Day of Anger" with nationwide rallies tapping into anger which has been rising since the economic crisis hit. The protests mixed local issues with anger at the federal government.
Opposition groups have been heartened by unusually large rallies in recent months. But riven by division they were unable to match the 10,000 people who gathered for a January rally in the western city of Kaliningrad, one of the largest in a decade.
"The mood has changed, but it has not yet turned into a movement," said Masha Lipman, an analyst with the Carnegie Moscow Centre think-tank. But for the micro-managers in the Kremlin "the stakes are extremely high," she said.
At least 1,500 people turned out in the Pacific port of Vladivostok, raising their hands to support a motion to dismiss Putin's government. Around 1,000 rallied in Saint Petersburg and hundreds gathered in several other cities.
"People have no work and they are fed up," said Ivan Fotodtov, 26, a Vladivostok web designer who braved snow to protest rising bills cutting into his stagnant wages.

Coming to America.

"More than one in four adults in Britain are not working, after a record number left the workforce in recent months, official figures indicated." www.telegraph.co.uk

Yes, we controled both houses of Congress and the POTUS. Yet, as you know, we had thin majorities, particularly in the Senate. Nowhere near the 60 Dems had. And you saw what happened in MA when Kennedy's seat came up. That should have been a clear indication that even a lib state like MA had some serious misgivings.

Plus, remember we had the Linc Chaffees and others who might as well have been wearing a blue jersey. Are you suggesting substantive reform could have taken place? If so, how... given what I just laid out.

And Dems adamently oppose Rep initiatives on it. I agree, HCR wasn't high on Rep radar screens. Just like fighting terror wasn't high on Clinton's.

As for talk being 'cheap' - consider how many administrations have complained about importing oil.

AU-
So are you saying there's no legitmate reason to oppose today's vote?

Not for me and mine there isn't. 4 million are losing their coverage every year. Employers are passing more and more of the cost to their employees, wages aren't going up because insurance costs rise 15-60% a year, American competitiveness is being thwarted largely because of high health care costs.

To me, this is a good thing for America in the short and long term. "Government takeover" is very dishonest. How is buying from a large pool, getting a better deal, and having security in the knowledge that if you get sick insurance will do what it's supposed to do - be there for you when you need it.

If you crashed your car and they decided not to pay for fixing it you wouldn't like that, would you? That's what happens all too often in the health insurance end.

Here's a link to a congressman from where I used to live in Ohio. He's a Dem and voting no.
www.newarkadvocate.com

From that article, ""I'm doing what I think is right," Space said. "I have been under an enormous amount of pressure this week in Washington. I have spoken to the president twice, once in the Oval Office. My own leadership has been working hard to get me to vote for this. But I don't represent them. I represent the people in the 18th Congressional District."

Also, ""My objections don't lie just in its substance. I also have some objections to the process that is being employed," Space said. "The impression that is being created, and to some degree it's justified, is that there is deal-making going on."

How is buying from a large pool, getting a better deal, and having security in the knowledge that if you get sick insurance will do what it's supposed to do - be there for you when you need it - a bad thing?

OOHRAH

If he lives in a swing district, he may be looking out for numero uno. Opponents of HCR have been very vocal. He might regret his vote when his district actually turns out to vote. Who knows? Most people never call their Congressman. The Teabaggers and FoxNews crowd have been very busy and very vocal.

AU,
#214. It's a good thing. It doesn't have to be from the government.

I can sympathize with your situation. Mrs Oohrah and I are cancer survivors. We pay quite a bit for insurance as I'm self employed.

With all due respect, as I see it you've de-legitmized the plan's oppposition and then attempt to justify it via dissmissive phraseology... particularly when referring to anyone who listens to talk radio/FOX... and when repeadedly using the term "obviously."

I grant that there are conflicting arguments. And while I oppose this legislation I don't articulate your stand (or by extension, you) as ignorant or illegimate.

'Socialism' and 'totalitarian tactics' is how a GOP Congressman on C-SPAN just described HCR and the process. Guess he didn't get the memo there will be no 'deem and pass' , or more likely, he knows but will repeat it anyway (reminds me of "Yellowcake" and "Looming Mushroom Clouds".

The right have been bound and determined to equate being able to buy private insurance you pay for yourself from the same pool government workers can as a "Communist" plot. Glenn Beck even uses the hammer and sickle as a prop when shooting crap out of his mouth.

So dishonest. So hyperbolic. So unworthy of trust.

"Totalitarian Tactics" my ass.

OOHRAH

Sorry, Republicans describing fellow Americans in Communist terms for purely political reasons (new tactic - terrorist appeaser, defeatist, unpatriotic came before this one) pisses me off.

OOHRAH

The Republicans have repeated the same lies over and over again just like they trumped up the Iraq War.

For instance:

- "Government Takeover" - FALSE. They're private insurance plans the public would choose from, run by private companies

- "Death Panels" - maybe that one went away. NO ONE is more in charge of your medical care than insurance companies. They decide what, where, and when you get care ... IF they feel like paying for it. Doctors will have MORE sayso.

- "Government Run Health Care" - Absolute BS! Private plans.

- "They're cutting MEDICARE!!!" - No. They're reining in the cut private Medicare Advantage providers have been skimming off the top - against the agreement. it has NOTHING to do with cutting grandma's Medicare, just the abusive fees providers have been charging the government.

The GOP are screaming about deficits. This pays for itself. They passed one multitrillion dollar program and tax cut even AFTER the CBO scored them as TRILLION DOLLAR DEFICITS. Geesh.

It's the Republican MO to repeat lies over and over and over. Every one I listed is patently false.

Wanna save a TRILLION over the next few years?

Undo the greedy deal the GOP made with PHARMA so it's illegal to negotiate prices. How stupid! Medicare Part D pays many times more than the VA - who CAN negotiate prices - gets.

Waste, fraud, and abuse? Sorry, OOHRAH, that's been the GOP MO.

#216 | Posted by OohRah

It isn't personal at all. It's the GOP MO that's been dishonest about so many facets of this (listed above). You're a great guy. You must be paying out the wazoo with your recent episode. Better hope they don't drop you cold one day or jack your rates up to the stratosphere. It's a possibility unless you're buying through a group that has a little clout.

WHAT! Big Pharma was heavily involved in writing the Democrat bill.

both "R" and "D" over the last 50 years have gotten very uncivil. We as a nation are getting just what we asked for as many have not paid any attention to what is going on in DC. I have said for years this country is on the verge of being like Lebanon or Ireland and it is happening quicker and quick. For years you could disagree with someone and remain civil but today if someone doesn't agree with you, then they are anti american and racist. Lib/Con and "R"/"D" are equally at fault. This county will continue to break up into many 3rd world piss holes ans long as this attitude prevails. I am glad I am old and about to die as this country embraces hate and stupidity

All these people and all these insults and not one video or audio recording from anyone? Good thing we can rely on these "honest" Democrats to tell us how there opposition was reacting. I am sure they wouldn't s t r e t c h the truth just to make themselves look like the victims. Because victimization is never a card they play.

Nice language Dave. I am sure the ends justify the means.

f and I repeat "IF" these dispicable names where yelled by a few dimwit protesters ...

There's no IF about it. They were yelled at Frank and Lewis in front of several TV reporters, who reported the incidents before the Congressmen themselves said anything about it. Cleaver getting spit on is confirmed by Capitol police who arrested the guy.

Although there are many reasonable people who oppose health reform, it is plain as day that some of the opposition is coming from an extremely angry, anti-American fringe group of abusive and potentially violent nutbags. Those of you who are part of the Tea Party movement have an obligation to speak out against them, at least within your own ranks. They are harming your movement and harming the country.

I asked several times for ONE Teabagger on this thread to call them out on it.

You can see how that turned out. Deflections and anti-poster posts. Sad.

Where's BJ Clinton? Where's Jesse Jackoff? Al Sharptongue? Why haven't the MSM been featuring these gasbags today?

TV reporters don't roll tape all day long. They spend time chasing information, setting up shots and preparing their on-air spiel. Here, they were waiting for top Dems to come out of a meeting.

That is true. Look at prop 8. But it was all blamed on the Mormons. We don't dare call out blacks when they are hateful. They can do no wrong.

And it wasn't that long ago that you and your cult let blacks attend your university...

Everyone knows your hand now

For the record as someone else pointed out here today racist comments only hurt the cause. Show me some audio or video and I will be the first one to condemn the racist for what they are.

However give me a few Democrats playing the victim race card, some leftest TV reporters "saying" without producing any audio or video evidence and not one official police report. I am going to call bull shit every single time.

Our goal should be to question both the Right and the Left when they start running around with unsubstantial stories.

Remember "Weapons of mass destruction". Now I was for the war, however this didn't really help the cause now when they weren't found now did it?

How did I give Boehner a pass? I said I don't give a shit about the guy because he is not my Representative. That is the problem with you two party sheep. The people of his district in Ohio need to hold him accountable. I have my hands full with Lee Terry, Mike Johanns and Ben Nelson.

I hate having to explain to people how a Representative Republic works.

"Here, they were waiting for top Dems to come out of a meeting."

Your conviction makes it sound as if you were there. But of course we know you were not. You might want to be careful or you will start to look like an apologist for the media not doing their job or worse an enabler.

Dems just like to play the race card to hide their own past. It is kind of like the closeted gay Republican that spews all the anti-gay crap.

History has shown that Conservatives are the only true champions of racial equality. Civil Rights bills, freeing of slaves, destruction of the african-american family...oh shit, that last one is the Dems, my bad.

At least we've established that radical terrorist Muslims have nothing to do with Islam. That's progress.

I would bet that these are Democrats who inflitrated the demonstration to make the Tea Party people protesting this abominable government take over of our health care system look bad.

The Democrats are the ones who see only skin, gender, enthinicity, etc., everything that seeks to divide us, not Republicans and not Conservatives.

Their tactics are meant to obfuscate the details of this terrible bill.

This vote today is about our freedom as a people to CHOOSE our own health care plan free of the jack boot of the the IRS on our necks.

The tea baggers learned their lesson in NY and will fall in line behind the GOPper candidates in November.

Your conviction makes it sound as if you were there. But of course we know you were not.

So what? Do you only believe things you witness personally, or do you take into account the multiple sources of information who confirm that something happened?

CNN, ABC News and the Congressmen themselves all say these incidents happened. Lewis and Frank have no history that I can recall of claiming personal slurs being yelled at them. Frank even charitably says out in interviews that many reasonable people oppose health care, so he doesn't tar them all with the actions of the douchebag who called him a "faggot."

Saves money if you just want to go on a shooting spree for the afternoon.

An anecdote from a guy taking his two kids to run around on the Washington Mall yesterday only to find himself in the middle of the Teabaggers as they came up from the subway entrance:

As we were crossing Constitution headed toward the Capitol where the "rally" was taking place, the Obama motorcade just so happened to be headed up to the Hill for what I found out later was a well publicized meeting with Congressional Democrats. So, as the 20 deep delegation of black Tahoes sped by, TeaBaggers quickly ran to the curb (seriously, imagine a few hundred people running and wielding signs.) to serenade the most hated Negro this side of Barry Bonds. And like magic the "Go Back To Africa!" chants just materialized out of thin air. It was totally predictable, but still a little freakish.

The right wing of America are insane

The right wing of America are insane

Just like the left wing, the right wing has its insane members. Of this, there is no doubt. But to judge an entire group of people by the actions of a few is itself insanity and it is difficult to take seriously those who wield a broad brush so willingly.

But that's just me. Some people embrace those who stereotype and judge an entire group by a few bad ones. Would you be so willing to use your broad brush to claim that an entire minority group is bad because of few of its members have a high murder rate? I wouldn't, but as I said, that's just me. I hate stereotyping. Some love it and engage in it freely when it suits their agenda.

The pro-establishment fakes that post or promote these stories know full well that quite often those that stir up racial tensions at events prove to be pro-establishment provocateurs.

Yet, there will be a few brainless, a lot more fakes on the opposite side happily take the bait as the intended goal is brainless infighting to distract from the real issues on which most would agree.

Even if this particular event was legitimate, the tactic is far from the norm. The perceived political advantage is lost when the truth exposes the fake agendas being promoted.

Oh, I believe the racial and homosexual slurs probably happened. Why? Because they would swamp this board if RCade allowed them. I don't believe most folks would change their tune if they were at a public rally. If anything, a mob mentality is likely to take over and increase the chance of ugly things being said.
