Jeffrey Scott Shapiro: A few months after American forces finally crossed into the border of the oppressed nation, President Bush told the National Endowment for Democracy that, "Iraqi democracy will succeed, and that success will send forth the news from Damascus to Tehran that freedom can be the future of every nation. The establishment of a free Iraq at the heart of the Middle East will be a watershed event in the global democratic revolution." He was right.

Declare victory; leave.

Oh and for years down the road, insist it was victory.

He was right.

Yeah, there's democracy walking all over the ME. Saudistan, kuwaitistan, egyptistan, Iranistan, Yemenistan,Syriastan,Dubaiista n, Jordanistan.....

Closest places to democracy are gaza and Lebanon. But nobody likes the winners, so they don't count.

Even Mission Accomplishedistan is splitting along ethnic lines. Afgahistanistan is a narco/theocracy. Noreiga would love it.

Again.

Another rightwingnut talking point bites the dust:

WASHINGTON -- Thousands of protesters - many directing their anger squarely at President Barack Obama - marched through the nation's capital Saturday to urge immediate withdrawal of troops from Iraq and Afghanistan.

At least eight people, including activist Cindy Sheehan, were arrested by U.S. Park Police at the end of the march, after laying coffins at a fence outside the White House. Friday marked the seventh anniversary of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.

"Arrest that war criminal!" Sheehan shouted outside the White House before her arrest, referring to Obama.

At a rally before the march, Sheehan asked whether "the honeymoon was over with that war criminal in the White House" - an apparent reference to Obama - prompting moderate applause.

What we accomplished was attacking a country to save us from their "weapons of mass destruction".
Unfortunately, they didn't have any.

we started to say don't fuck with us, but got side tracked by daddy issues.

"Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere ... nope, no weapons over there ... maybe under here?" -GW BUSH

Now don't going trying to gather "facts" that would just be stupid.

Seriously, healthcare reform is a pimple on and elephant's ass compared to that black fucking eye.

five star article. I am glad I have a box of kleenex on my desk...

1 million dead, 4 million educated wealthy escapees that once ran the country, infrastructure destroyed by US bombing, depleted uranium dust everywhere, first oil contract with China, worlds largest useless embassy.

Yup, transformational, one step closer to running our country into the ground. Then, just like icing on the cake, the fuckers actually ran our country into the ground, for the benefit of cronies that financed their campaigns. What a haul. The world has never seen anything like it, not Alexander the Great, not Genghis Khan, not Ceasar, not Napolean, not Hitler, not Stalin.......even though they all share greed and deliberate indifference to human decency.

"One step closer to running our cuntry into teh ground....."

Wars, no matter how just or necessary, ALWAYS have that potential. George Bush never knew that, because he never liked history, and because he didn't have a real life. A form of hot-house flower, he started and ran the Iraq War and the one on Afghanistan like a plant threatening to wilt in cold air.

I was always bemused by people who saw Bush as strong. He was always a kid grappling with what it meant to be an adult.

Shapiro: Mission Accomplished in Iraq

Thanks to the 2006 election forcing Bush to change course and fire Rumsfeld.

Johnson will forever be known for Vietnam despite his other very real accomplishments, Bush will forever be known for Iraq and his vainglorious "Mission Accomplished", in his case there was just this one bogus accomplishment and nothing else.

Both led our country and the countries they invaded into disaster. Johnson had the decency to realize this and effectively resigned the presidency, Bush did neither. Johnson knew that the buck stopped at his desk, Bush seemed to think that wasn't purpose of the presidency.

"correct the historical record about President Bush and the Bush foreign policy doctrine."

Here's a big middle finger, Shapy.

Obama: Mission Accomplished on Health Care!

LOL! It ain't over.

It's funny how the 2010 election is going to have the same effect on Obama and his Socialist Agenda.

But it won't be a subtle change in the House and Senate, it will be like a 2x4.

Now you understand why they are passing such a shitpile of a bill... They know they are out in November 2010, no matter what they do.

So, America! Here's a big FUCK YOU of a health care reform bill.

What a God Damn mess!
