Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

President Barack Obama promised the govt. would have the power to block unreasonable rate hikes. Ah, sorry not in the final bill. He also promised to send investigators disguised as patients to hospitals in search of waste, fraud and abuse. Nope not that one either.

And those "special deals" that Obama railed against and said he wanted to eliminate? With the exception of two of the most notorious - extra Medicaid money for Nebraska and a carve-out for Florida seniors faced with losing certain extra Medicare benefits - they are all still there.

Negotiations on C-Span? Nope Sorry. Missed that one too.

Public Option? My Bad. Can't have that either.

So what are we getting along with our Vaseline?

Is this going to be another "concern" thread where the evil paints the perfect as the enemy of the good?

Just asking.

Who's perfect that you speak of?

Some of us are waiting for Obama to make good on maybe just one of his promises.

Or is this just Bush's fault or maybe Bush did this too.

Who's perfect that you speak of?

I was speaking metaphorically. When ideological opponents of legislation begin to criticize it because it doesn't go far enough they are being disingenuous in an attempt to sow discord on the other side.

These positions are an indication that compromise is impossible, a fact that Obama is belatedly recognizing.

I believe that the Dems would be better off fighting harder for their goals and spending less time trying to uselessly appease the opposition partisans.

Personally, I think they could have achieved their goals if they reduced it down to it's elements and passed them separately.

Over 12,000 new IRS agents will need something to do. Maybe they'll be dressing up as sick people and taking notes as to which doctors were polite to them.

Give Obama credit for one thing. If you're a bureaucrat, the economy is great.

Now that is truly funny. No C-Span? No 72-hour review of the bill to be voted on? Kickbacks to dozens of Democrats to get their vote? Water being turned back on in California to grease the skids there?

It's those Republicans, I tell you!

What a joke this administration is. And their supporters.

Good. Maybe those IRS agents can stay busy looking at the shelters your former clients use.

"I loved George W Bush, was his chief cheerleader when he was in office, but now I spend all day spouting nonsense about the guy left to clean up the mountain of crap Bush left in his wake"

- RiR

He's not cleaning up anything. He's making a horrible problem worse. Turning big deficits into Titanic ones, taking incompetent Bush appointees and promoting them. How is it possible that Obama could enjoy worse relations with our allies than Bush has? Sarkozy and Markel can't even stand the guy, and now he's putting off Southeast Asia for another three months to give him more time to bribe members of his own party.

You're really stupid. Godalmighty.

Ya ya ya, right wing talking point Mr. Financial Genius. You were all for deficit spending when Bush was in office. You know it, we know it. But, if you want to continually embarrass yourself have at it.

Some deficit spending was good, just as some deficit spending is good now. Borrowing for airports and hospitals, good. Borrowing for prescription drug benefits or welfare spending, bad.

But it takes a special kind of stupid to attack Bush for his horrible deficits, and celebrate Obama's catastrophic ones.

You're just a partisan hack. And you pretend it's okay, because other people are too.

19%. That's the percentage of men who strongly support Obama. Strip out blacks and other minorities who think Obama is just like them, and the gays who wish he was, and that leaves you and four other dudes. Tell Doc and Dan howdy.
