Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Saturday, March 20, 2010

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) appeared on MSNBC's Morning Joe Friday, and things got a bit heated when he told Wall Street Journal columnist and former Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan that her criticisms of President Obama and health care reform were some "of the most cliched, hackneyed assessments of this thing."

Hawt Dog!

FTA: Would you stop, one-year tangent? Health care's 20% of our economy and it's a tangent? This is the problem -- we've got to solve the problem but let's do it some other time. For eight years in this country this problem was festering. Incomes were flat. Why? Cause every single spare dollar an employer had had to go into health care, not into wages. Our wages are down, our economy's at a standstill because of health care. And we're fixing that problem because your team didn't do it.

Looks like Tony's got Noonan pegged!

Story is replete with Vid.

Videe well.

Be Well.

ok, pepped me up a tad before the jam at the bowling alley, thanks!
(been kinda boring around here.)

WHAM! That was badass. Weiner just got a new fan.

Just shows how all the anti-health reform points are manufactured by those who profit from the status quo, even though they pose as intellectuals and patriots. When they are confronted with real math and logic, all they can say is 'nuh-uh!'

You like Weiner on this you should have seen him rip the Republican Scott Garrett over reading a fake "democrat" memo in Congress today.

It was awesome. He slapped down Garret and Virginia Fox.

Politico bought into the BS and had to rescind their reporting.

First clue?
It was first publicized on Drudge.
Second clue?
It was all Republican talking points.

Here's the video: www.dailykostv.com

It's really worth watching in conjunction with the one in this thread.

Here's the video: www.dailykostv.com

God damn that was amazing. I wish democrat congressmen would lend their balls to democrat senators. unfortunately it's a lot easier to buy off the senators because there's less of them to buy.

weiner for prez.

"We're here to help solve the problems of the American people not to quote from fake memos"

~Tony Weiner D-NY

A real document that is scored by the CBO to show over a trillion dollars worth of HC savings over time versus a fake memo distributed as part of a massive disinformation by opponents of reform in a "whispering campaign" of non-sourced e-mails?

A microcosm of the HC debate, indeed.

Good eye, Yav.

Be Well.

Another Deemocrat who wants the bankruptcy of America, hailed as a hero by the DR libbies.

How unsurprising.

I don't have to be concerned with how it (healthcare) will get paid for. Just knowing it won't be me is good enough.

Signed,
AverageDumbocrat.

The places and costs this healthcare bill will take us is truly far beyond the cognitive ability of the average dem voter. Fat, dumb, and happy for now, but not for long.

Another Deemocrat who wants the bankruptcy of America, hailed as a hero by the DR libbies.

Actually, the Reforms were largely in response to the unprecedented numbers of medical bill induced bankruptcies that the out of control HC costs created.

It's an anti-bankruptcy thang.

You gotsta understand.

The places and costs this healthcare bill will take us is truly far beyond the cognitive ability of the average dem voter.

Places?

Free scooters fer everyone?

The soaring costs of HC, the denied claims, the people who die waiting for a verdict from corporate death panels, the bankruptcies previously mentioned all justify HC insurance reform at this time.

Whether it will be a boon or a bane is pure speculation from both sides at this point in time. That sed, the thing has been fully scored by the CBO, voted on in both the house and senate in one form of another and it's coming.

It's not perfect.

It's half a loaf, in fact.

But it's still better than none at all.

Wot Porky obviously don't get here is where the spiraling costs of health care due to an unscrupulous have already taken the US and worse ...where it was headed.

Be Well.

RisR and Porchop waving the fake memo crying "it's true!"

How unsurprising.

Yeah. Bankruptcy's bad.

Look at the trillions of dollars we shelled out just so that AIG and Citigroup and GM and Wachovia and Countrywide and Goldman Sachs and dozens of others shouldn't have to go through Chapter 11.

Can't have that. As long as the Chinese and Saudis are willing to give us free money, nobody should have to suffer at all.

When nearly 50% of the population doesn't pay taxes, (some even get returns of more than was withheld) why should anyone be surprised that they LOVE the idea of tax increses and "free" services? This country is like a huge wagon with riders and pullers. Soon the riders will outnumber the pullers. Look at what's happening in California. Our little leftist-socialist friends will be the first to scream and riot when the "free" goodies start to diminish.

I think of East Tennessee as I did East Germany - same name, different country.

"I think of East Tennessee as...."

I stopped reading at that point because I've known for some time you're incapable of "thinking."

"free"

Who's talking about free health care?

Trying to do something about rising costs, price gouging, denied claims, corporate death panels, cherry picked clientele and unfair business practices from a virtual monopoly does not equal "want free HC for all".

Be Well.

"free"

Another BS meme from the right.

"Trying to do something about rising costs, price gouging, denied claims, corporate death panels, cherry picked clientele and unfair business practices from a virtual monopoly does not equal "want free HC for all"."

DeadPud finally improves to a C-minus for one of his posts. It certainly AIN'T gonna be free for ALL.
AND....
I don't think anyone would argue that the faults put forth need to be addressed, but to have the government fix it.....LOLOLOL...sput, sputter..LOLOL

It isn't going to be free for most people.

Just another right wing meme.

"Wenn wir Ihnen sagen, es stimmt, es ist wahr. Unterschrieben, die Bewohner hinter der East Crossville Wall."

After Noonan called the bid for health reform a "one-year tangent," Weiner responded, "Health care's 20% of our economy and it's a tangent? This is the problem -- we've got to solve the problem but let's do it some other time. For eight years in this country this problem was festering. Incomes were flat. Why? Right on, Anthony!!

$27 trillion bailout for fatcat fraudsters.

$3 trillion unnecessary war in Iraq which Shrub lost and ruined a country, for the next 100,000 years.

In order to fix Health Care, Medicare, Social Security force Congress, the White House, the Judiciary, all Unions and everyone else in Government should be forced by public initiative onto the same programs. The fucking unDemocratic death for profits of a few would be stopped overnight, if everyone were forced on the same rules. Its the way every other developed country operates, except the corrupt USA.

Weiner is correct about the significance of healthcare in our competitiveness but lost in this statement is the fact that obviously he's not enamored with this bill. Other interesting points made and not disagreed with is the fact that this bill is a huge plus to the healthcare industry and that Obummer doesn't even know what's in the pig---great leadership and executive experience

Shrub was an eight year war tangent with catastrophic job losses and falling wages masked by "Free Market & Ownership Society" propaganda which was really debt creation fueled by Greenspan's Randian bullshit. During his reign Shrub added $5.5 trillion to the national debt, doubling it. Noonan and an army of Rethuglican shills supported him through one failure after another.

Shrub's rise to power wasn't legal. He stole an election with help from Feeney, Harris, his brother Jeb,with quantitative guidance from Rove and finally a SCOTUS majority appointed by the same crime family. Then they repeated similar crimes in Ohio, New Mexico, Pennsylvannia.....Shrub, Jeb, his daddy and granddaddy should be imprisoned for treason. Invading Iraq was a crime. Election rigging is a crime. Making treaties with other countries behind the backs of elected Presidents is a crime. Plotting the overthrow of elected President Roosevelt was a crime. But if you're rich and powerful in this country you are above the law.

Doggone, now that's a post of yours I can agree with---however, I would insert "often" in that sentence---it also has to do with how agregious your crime was, type of crime, etc. and who you have in your corner or against you.

I wouldn't live in EAST Tennessee if you paid me.

"When nearly 50% of the population doesn't pay taxes"

Once again, Jest needs to adjust his Alzheimers medicine. Social Security taxes are taxes. Medicare taxes are taxes. Excise taxes are taxes. Gas taxes include federal taxes. The claim 50% of the population doesn't pay taxes is bullshit.

He of course is referring to income tax. Added to their taxes with this bill is a premium tax for healthcare insurance.

Hilarious.

What, are you his caretaker? His translator?

He can type "income tax". Instead, he wrote "tax". He was wrong.

"He can type "income tax". Instead, he wrote "tax". He was wrong."

Or deliberately lying. These rtards always omit the word "federal income" before "taxes". It happens too often for it to be a coincidence.

You got to admit, AU, it was pretty funny when read in sequence.

Here is where nut can get his nuts off for the cost of the Iraq war. Ain't even close to his "pull it out of nut's ass" number.

costofwar.com

well spudbutt finnaly made a funny headline

smacked by weiner....she wishes.////

and wiener in true goddamn dem fashion lies again..
how can we protect the industry from gop..a fuckin lie

and he says dems will GIVE people insurance coverage a FUCKIN LIE...taxpayers will be PAYING For that shit..you fuckin ass

joe..'what went wrong? dems were elected.

and of course as joe said...nooned supported obama at first and she was quoted by leftists dogs and hailed as a moderate republican...now that she's off the obama plantation,...she is villified her and on this hack of a network...typical dem shit

and I didnt hear anything after joe started talking to howard dean..I can stand to hear wiener lie his face off but I draw the line when it comes to howard fuckin dean..

AND when weiner heard noonan talk about govt takeover of insurance he shook his head

HEY YOu little piece of shit..listen to your CLOWN VP and you will hear thats EXACTLY the fuckin plan

"we will control the insurance industry"

joe biden...yesterday

BIDEN: Well, I yes. Some of them I say they say, well, Joe, look, man, I mean, you know, you guys haven't massaged this very well. And, you know, this thing has gone on so long, I don't know. And my response is, hey, man, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. I'm telling you, you know, pre-existing, they're going to be covered. You know we're going to control the insurance companies. You know people aren't going to lose their health care with their employer like is being advertised. So you've got to if you really want to make sure that you get the benefit of what you've already done, vote for the bill.
And I look, Jake, I really, truly believe that the worst place to be, as a legislator, is being in the position where your side is being pummeled for an idea and there's misrepresentations about all the bad
things the idea is going to generate. And then the idea fails and then they go, see, I told you Jake was for it. And had I not stopped, Jake, there would have been death panels.

Sounds positively draconian /snark

When nearly 50% of the population doesn't pay taxes

Ah, the old don't pay no taxes lie.

You sure about that cupcake?

So now you're taking what Joe Biden says seriously?

You righties sure love to pick and choose your "facts".

Be consistent... is he a "liar", "plagarist", "goofball", or "accurate"?

Wait a minute..... what Joe was really saying was....

"You know ...the insurance companies..get the benefit of ....the bill. "

Weeeee cherry picking is fun!

Sounds positively draconian /snark

it does when you hear harry reid tell them they will vote on public option soon and pelosi tells you that we have to vote on it before we know whats in it..

but Im sure you have plenty of time to build back the social security you will lose to help pay as well as the unearned income you might get now or in the future..
and if you work for a small business, I am sure you wont mind finding a new doctor or new carrier...unlike the promise the liar in chief as made for a year..

so sure..TRUST THEM...........but I dont.

The fact is nearly 1/2 of the housholds pay no INCOME TAX. 1/2 of the housholds is more than 1/2 of the population.

Guess who raised the SS tax the Treasury borrows from to make up for deficits and has since back when?

Ronald Reagan.

Everyone pays taxes if they work.

"The fact is nearly 1/2 of the housholds pay no INCOME TAX."

Big fuckin' deal. Most workers pay more in FICA taxes and gasoline taxes than they do in income taxes anyway.

And the initial claim was "taxes". RIF.
