A computer database glitch has sent police to the home of an elderly Brooklyn couple more than 50 times since 2002, cops admitted today. Walter and Rose Martin endured the most recent raid on Tuesday, when four cops showed up looking for a suspect and broke a window.

Dave's not here.

They should have set up a little coffee and donut stand in their living room.

You gotta have the right donuts. Otherwise......

"Captain Harris is that you?"

All cops will eat regular glazed if there's no other choice, though I am aware that a lot of them like sprinkles.

I think after 30 or 40 times I would move out of that house.

I would have lawyered up after one time.

You would think that after the first time or two they would have recognized the address and determined the glitch long before 50 times.

They could have been terraists!

Here's the difference between the litigious in our society and those that know people make honest mistakes---no way I would have "lawyered up" with one time---it must be nice to live in perfect jerry's skin and know someone will never have a reason to "lawyer up" against him---the litigious aspect of this society stinks.

The honest mistake of busting into someone's home with loaded weapons could get someone killed. I'm with Jerry, one time.

Key word is "could"---if someone was not killed there's no reason to "lawyer up"---personally, if it happened to me it wouldn't even cross my mind to run to a lawyer.

That's exactly right, could kill you. Cops need to have their shit together and can't go around breaking into people's houses with loaded weapons. There are no room for mistakes if you're going to invade someone's home thinking they might be a criminal. Your willingless to bend over for authority is hilarious.

where there's smoke, there's fire...

Conclusion: eating too many donuts causes a severe decrease in IQ. Instead of banning salt, maybe NYC should ban donuts.

They should also ban tools who think cops should be given every little bit of slack until they accidentally pop a bullet in grandma's ass.

L_or_D, so you think they should ban the unions that protect incompetent cops? Ok, sign me up for that, I agree.

Interesting point. I think there's a need for a union in some form but not one that exists to protect them from responsibility.

This is exactly why when we have a ntional ID that the country will be totally contolled by the elite, if they ahve something against you they will be able to unknowingly "sick all the dogs" on your, "shut your omoney supply off" and turn off your power" and anything else they want and there will be no way to track back how or why or who did it.

We will be one large lational slave camp.

that is what this health care bill will do to us.

Why yo think they are so intent on passing it?

In it is the legalization of the ship and turning us into Borg. Total absolute terror from those who claim to be protecting us from it.

yech.

It will pass, because the elite want it

wait and see.

All some elitist who you cut off in traffic has to do is put a terror flag on your name
you are doomed and you will never know why.

horrible.

I probably wouldn't lawyer up the first time, but at least visit the station and complain. the second time is defiantly a lawsuit.

Put down the crackpipe, dumbass.

I had no idea that I'm "perfect"!

Go figure.

personally, if it happened to me it wouldn't even cross my mind to run to a lawyer.

Bullshit.

I'll let the first one slide, but you be more careful next time! Thank you officer.

Cops simply don't give a shit about members of the public anymore. If they did, there is no way this happens to these people more than a couple of times.

To them, everyone is either an enemy, a potential enemy or a pain in the ass.

There's a generalization---kind of like saying leftists don't think rationally or righties eat their young. Don't know where you all live but a lot of the cops in our area are great people.

I'm hoping they are paying for the broken window or locks, or whatevers they broke each time.

Otherwise that stuff can get expensive!

"Don't know where you all live but a lot of the cops in our area are great people."

I've met some cops who are decent enough guys to hang out with but to say they are in it to "protect and serve" is mostly laughable.

And even cops who aren't pricks with an out of control sense of entitlement selectively enforce the law. Any cop or immediate family member is pretty much exempt from most traffic violations and arrest for some minor crimes. Then there are people who purchase various get off the hook cards from police organizations...... They consider themselves and their kin above the law and they are also for sale.

What I've noticed most recently is many townships are moving towards dark colored squad cars with grey print that makes it very hard to identify a squad car until you are very close. Just another sign of how they view the public as an adversary. Instead of wanting to be easily recognizable so the public (especailly kids who are told to look for cops if they get lost, etc) can spot them when they need help, they are more worried about being able to write more tickets by making their cars harder to spot.

NJ is going to have to be corrupt for at least another 10 years to catch up with Louisiana government during the last 60 years of the last century.

True story: A friend of mine, on a bet, once ate an Egg McMuffin which had been nailed to the wall for a year.

He is the guy who will eat anything, so long as it's actually considered food somewhere on the planet.

LOL, okay that comment was not for this thread!

I was once designated to make the run to Krispy Kreme for 12 dozen donuts for an office party and a co-worker went with me. We went to the Mother of all Krispy Kremes on Ponce de Leon in Atlanta and got our 144 donuts. Sometimes it is not easy to find a place to park there because of all the different cop cars. On the way back to the office I was driving over the speed limit and my associate mentioned to me I might slow down or could get pulled over. I said I was not worried about it and pointed to the boxes in the back seat. He got it about a half-second later LOL.
