Just another "sell-out" like Dennis the K, one supposes.

Gotta love him and Dennis for being pragmatic instead of cutting off their ideological noses to spite their political faces.

Half a loaf. The other half is in the oven, the Medicare buy-in Bill that Rep Grayson FL introduced.

www.nowpublic.com

Cork,

I am all about pragmatism, but what your party has produced is utterly-toxic.

Hell, the Dems could have produced a far-LESS centrist bill and had it be more pure.

Scrap it and start over - this is what 3 in 4 Americans want. Let's act like public servants and recognize such strong sentiment.

-this is what 3 in 4 Americans want

Not hardly.

"The American public remains evenly divided on whether President Obama's health care plan should be passed, according to the latest Wall Street Journal-NBC News poll.

Forty-six percent of all respondents came out in favor of passing the bill, with 45 percent against it."

And your, I mean the Repub talking point, caricature of the Bill is just as blind.

Glad you took the time to read the article though....

Forty-six percent of all respondents came out in favor of passing the bill, with 45 percent against it."

The most recent poll that I saw was 48% opposed - 38% for and the rest undecided.

However, when asked if we should scrap it and start over, the number is greater than 75%.

You should check the NBC WSJ poll then, the new one, as the trend is against you.

And with more progressives like DK and MM peeling off, the about 40 percent of opposition to the Bill that is progressive will continue to dwindle.

As bad as this Bill is from a progressive point of view, as MM points out so well in his post, it is better than the status quo and worth passing.

All teh "start over" rhetoric you got from Repub talking points is nonsense. They know they have lost already.

"Scrap it and start over - this is what 3 in 4 Americans want."

Riiight. How about we pass this bill, get it signed into law and then write another bill that does more than this bill....as if the Rethugs would let it pass the Senate....as if they would let any bill pass the Senate.....hey let's pretend that the Rethugs don't have a strategy of opposing everything the Dems do.....

Corky has no credibility when presenting "poll" info. Notice he didn't link to it because he hoped you wouldn't read:

Only 36 percent of all poll participants thought the plan was a "good idea".

Says it all. But you won't hear it from shillboy.

www.huffingtonpost.com

If it's not a good idea, and even most Dems don't like it, then why shove it down America's throat? Sheer partisan hatred, that's why. Right Cork & Danni?

Mostly I agree:

And by now you've figured out that you don't really have any say in this, that what we call the "democratic process" is mostly a sham, pretty words that get repeated in the hopes we will all still fall for it.

This bill is a joke. It has NOTHING to do with "health care reform." It has EVERYTHING to do with lining the pockets of the health insurance industry. It forces, by law, every American who isn't old or destitute to buy health insurance if their boss doesn't provide it. What company wouldn't love the government forcing the public to buy that company's product?!

Moore says what Dennis says and it is pathetic: Pass it because, if President Obama takes a fall on this one, I don't know if he'll be able to get back up. And then NOTHING will get done.

Crackfish still has that severe, congenital cognition problem.

Only 36 percent think it a good idea, I could fit into that number. But 46 percent want it passed anyway..... likely because as bad as it is it is a better idea than doing nothing, the Repube alternative.

I would however, like to congrats him for putting up a substantive post instead of his usual spewing of personal homoerotic fantasy.

Nice job, Cookie!

Why should America suffer a horrible health care bill just to save face for an incompetent boob of a president that a majority of us don't like as much as the stupid bill?

Only the Shadobama knows....

Who cares what fatass thinks.

Americans are already suffering something worse than this Bill, teh status quo of insurers more responsible to stockholders than to premium holders.

One can only imagine rethugs this fall running on repealing the children's preexisting conditions exemption that will be in effect by then, and getting rid of tax breaks to small business for their health care.

Let me know how that plays with the public.

. . . if President Obama takes a fall on this one, I don't know if he'll be able to get back up.
* * * *

That doesn't speak very highly of him. Is O that fragile? Is he a pussy?

UGH

what a choice

barry trying to filabuster on fox or this fat fuck on cnn....

Fuck the democrats and fuck the republicans.

My personal health insurance is going up anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000 depending on how much I use it. This will cause pain to the hurts family.

Fuck em all, starting with the health insurance companies.

Laugh if you want, you will probably be next.

A 4 page Medicare buy-in bill that may be better at reducing costs, offering competition, and even righting Medicare's books than the 2000+ page HCR bill. lol

This is what I've been asking for. Let's hope it passes.

What I find most interesting about this rant - other than the rich melodrama - is that Moore understands 100% that our politicians are completely bought and paid for by corporate intresests.

Yet, he still supports the Democrats. WTF? If you know the Republicans and Demcorats are all total sellouts who don't give a crap about this country and that bothers you, why would you support either?

To complain about a situation while supporting half the people responsible is just insanity.

One sellout party is a wholly owned subsidiary of corporitists, the other is merely a franchisee.

I do wish more people had read his whole post, though.

Mike is right, as usual. What will pass Sunday may forever be known as the Corporate HMO Revenue Enhancement Act of 2010. Without single payer, without public option, the good guys gave away the store. The uglies, the haters, continue to fight only in hopes that their president will still turn white. I still hope for some significant amendments to reform the abysmal American health care system. herm

They will pass this bill on Sunday and then, on Monday, realize they still need to reform Healthcare.

"One sellout party is a wholly owned subsidiary of corporitists, the other is merely a franchisee."

The health bill, having Monsanto writing agricultural bills to stifle competition from niche competitors, the bailouts with no strings...

Obama is as beholden to corporate masters as anyone holding office today from either party. Don't fool yourself into thinking there is a lesser of two evils. There is one evil.

Moore is like a doctor trying to treat a patient with lung cancer by prescribing Camels.

or you being a complete idiot and a tool here?

you are right....argh!

I think I will go with MM...pass the frickin bill.

I think I will go with MM...

big shocker.

They will pass this bill on Sunday and then, on Monday, realize they still need to reform Healthcare.

And then the rethugs will say, "See, I told you we needed health care reform?"

or will they still say No! to every attempt after that too?
