Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Barb Shelly, Kansas City Star: Former Senate Republican leader and presidential candidate Bob Dole, speaking to an audience in Kansas City in October, said [Senate Minority Leader Mitch] McConnell had told him he shouldn't support health reform because "that's helping the president." Republicans never had any intention of working toward bipartisan health care reform. But that doesn't make it any less needed. It just adds more weight to the case the Democrats should do whatever it takes to get the act passed.

Well duh!

"Republicans never had any intention of working toward bipartisan health care reform."

I think the President needs just a little more evidence before he's convinced. LMAO.

"Are you still buying the line that President Obama and the Democrats might have gotten health care passed by now if they'd just been willing to embrace some Republican ideas?"

That's something we will never know the answer to, now isn't it. Interestingly old Barb believes McConnell when he supposedly tells Dole "he shouldn't support health reform because "that's helping the president." Yet she does not believe him when he "told the reporters that the GOP had offered Democrats "a chance for a deal" on health care, but it was futile."

Barb states "Republicans never had any intention of working toward bipartisan health care reform."

The same holds true for dear Barb who never has any intention of reporting in a bipartisan manner. And to quote Barb: "But that doesn't make it any less needed."

I'm sure that's not what he said, and 726 is posting yet another article which takes his comments out of context.

He's one of the 19-percenters. 19.

Obama is in a tough spot. Realize that the republicons ideas for "reform" are far short of the goal, leave them out and risk getting called partisan.

Or embrace only the republicons ideas, health care reform will fall far short and then he will be called ineffective.

Bitch McConnell never had any plans on reaching a compromise solution.

Just another example of the republicon definition of compromise is doing only what they want, nothing more. And then they would still vote against it.

I'm sure that's not what he said,

Were you there?

Then how are you "sure".

DAMN STRAIGHT>.and here's hoping he is successfull at it
and HE WILL BE if he remembers the lessons from goddamn dems when they did the same thing over and over...

the job of the opposition is to oppose.

Were you there?

Then how are you "sure".

But you were. Helluva aguement you've made, son.

Aflakofbrains, Please link the facts to sustain your rediculous position.

link everytime the dems obstructed the gop

want to start with judicial appointments????

and hispanics at that?>???

OWS: When I read the title of the thread but before it had loaded, I had already intended to write the following, "Well, duh." But then I saw your post #1. LOL.
Fact is, everyone who is paying any attention (and I do mean EVERYONE) knows that the entire current agenda of the Congressional GOP is to obstruct obstruct obstruct. To my knowledge, there has never been anything like this in the history of the USA.

"want to start with judicial appointments????"

Yeah, let's start with Alito and Roberts.

Ooops!

They were confirmed by the Senate. Gee, but I thought the Dems obstructed everything????

Pay no attention to the babbeling liar Whiskey.

Isn't this the basic GNOPer game plan for the past decade or more? They don't like big government and they are trying to do EVERYTHING they can to make it self destruct.

THE GNOP jacks up the deficit to try and sabotage the governments finances. They try to block appointments to the Federal Courts to try and sabotage the Federal justice system.

They are trying to sabotage health care reform now ans it is simply one more item in their GNOPer list of items to say NO to.

McConnell is about a waste.

He's a poor excuse for a man.

Reminds me of a male Mrs. Beasley doll.

Effeminate, lily-livered pussy!

Right on - like most of the rabid GNOP chickenhawks!

But you were. Helluva aguement you've made, son.

actually buttlicker the job of Congress is to represent the best interests of their constituents.

I take it you were educated in the Texas public schools.

Question: Would it be a bad thing if every rightwinger simply shut up and maybe moved to Costa Rica a la Limbaugh? Obviously most of them hate America. They should leave.

Shelly: McConnell's Only Goal is Obstruction

And for Gods sake keep it up!

DO NOT let this steaming turd of a bill, or any other of the Marxist plans come into law!

GOP had offered Democrats "a chance for a deal" on health care,

Yeah, KBM, a tax cut for HMOs and tort reform, wherein any drunk surgeon killing a patient gets to take a mulligan.

I thought that we elected our representatives (senate and house) to be our "voices" in Washington and in our states.

McConnell and others on the Repub side are doing exactly that, as poll after poll of voters consistently demonstrates.

The utterly amazing thing is Obama's disregard for all of his liberal buddies. The guy has absolutely no problem serving them up for slaughter at next election, as long as he claims complete government control over as much as possible now.

i have been looking for a way to say exactly that (all of it) in such short sentence, congrats. and thanx.

sentences.

...Marxist plans... #19 | Posted by Docsmooth

Yeah, there is an undercurrent to turn America into a communist country? What a tool. Whether you support the recent health care proposals or not is one thing, but when you start throwing around the "M" and "C" words, you accomplish one thing and one thing only: exposing yourself as a silly, little puppet laughably brainwashed by the far right fearmonger machine.

Fact is, everyone who is paying any attention (and I do mean EVERYONE) knows that the entire current agenda of the Congressional GOP is to obstruct obstruct obstruct. To my knowledge, there has never been anything like this in the history of the USA.

You are right. There never has been a push like this to get the USA to be a socalist country. If I don't believe in socalism, why should I go along with you to do it?

You that holler obstruction keep forgetting(wrong word, ignoring) what we are trying to stop.

When did we last have a Republican whose only goal was NOT impeding any and all semblances of progress? The true atrocity is that these ugly haters actually have a cheering section here. herm

What is the last thing a Republican congress or administration did to benefit the average citizen (i.e., not a millionaire or a multinational corporation)? Hint: you probably have to go back to (believe it or not) Nixon. But that's right, he had a Democratic Congress, didn't he?

actually buttlicker the job of Congress is to represent the best interests of their constituents.

I take it you were educated in the Texas public schools.

so direct your ire at the founding father WHO DID..

OOPS./...may not have been a founder...I thought it was jefferson....DAMN...who was it? some guy from england maybe...
but you get the pic.

"only purpose is obstruction."

Hitler couldn't have said it better....
