Here is what you can do....

Adjust your withholding so that you OWE them tax on 4/15/2011, then put that additional money away into a savings account through automatic deposits every week.... just like withholding except you keep your money and earn interest on it.

I owe the IRS and my State $$$ every April 15. I just make sure that I have enough paid in so I don't get hit with a penalty for underpayment.

Good luck on the lawsuit though.

It's not the taxpayers' money--it's the state's money. It's only out of the generosity of Washington and Albany's hearts that we're allowed to keep what we do.

Think of it as a delay in getting paid your allowance. See if that helps. You're an 11-year-old child, and your dad says there's not enough money in the budget to give you your allowance until next month, because he lost a big bundle at the track.
