Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

In his new book and in recent media appearances promoting it, former top Bush aide Karl Rove has been revising the history of the Iraq war, particularly regarding the issue of Saddam Hussien's alleged weapons of mass destruction.

Today on NBC's Meet the Press, Rove continued with his Iraq war history revision campaign. Noting that the Bush administration had mishandled the management of the war, host Tom Brokaw mentioned that "the cost of the war skyrocketed almost from the beginning. There was not a sharing of the oil revenue that a lot of people had promised." But Rove flatly denied that the Bush administration said Iraqi oil revenues would help pay for the war:

Why would this suprise anyone?

Truthiness has longer staying power than the truth apparently. Especially when it goes unchallenged.

It is not news when Karl Rove lies.

It is not news when Karl Rove lies.

It's in his contract with Beelzebub that if he ever tells the truth, his nose will fall off.

This is long overdue.....

And why is it okay for a libbie to call Rove a turd blossom, but not to make fag jokes about Barney Frank?

Wll, dumbfuck, that's because your boy GW gave him that nickname.

Oh. So faggot jokes are back in? Or is it only if done in a partisan way?

I just want to know if I can refer to Barney Frank as a fat teabagging homo without being called a homophobe, assuming you can do the same of Rove.

Rove wasn't born a turd blossom. He made a considered choice to be one.

RiR, you can do whatever you want. You're still a dumbfuck.

GW, who gave Turdblossom his nickname is a Lib?

Who knew?

I know. I wish I were a smart libbie like you, so I could know what's best for everyone.

Even a slight acquaintance with lucidity would be an improvement for you, much less what is considered common knowledge in politics.

I actually didn't know Bush called Rove a "turd blossom". I looked it up just now.

Ah well. Apologies to the libbies in the preceding posts, and to pole-smokers everywhere.

It's OK, RiR. You're usually wrong.

If he believes what he's saying, then he's not lying even if what he is saying is easily proven to be untrue.

He might legitimately be insane. When the Bushies started mockingly referring to their opponents as the "reality based community" and claiming that they were creating "new realties", I started to believe they might just be a bunch of lunatics. Or maybe they were just dumber than shit. It is hard to tell.

I've often thought along those lines myself. Isn't turd blossom slang for... you know.... mushrooms?

GW, who gave Turdblossom his nickname is a Lib?

Who knew?

The righties here. They either deny his existence or proclaim he was no conservative. At least they have since September 2008. Before that he was The Second Coming.

and of course the left continues to forget the rhetoric and threats and cautions about sadaam that came from hillary and blowjob and kerry..he was in nam you know..and so many others who then turned it right around for politics ..

and then of course told us all how concerned they were about the troops...
but its amazing that so many people here know the truth about what went on in the bush white house..didnt know there were so many of you who were so 'connected'....

Are we in Afghanistan for the oil or the poppy?

Or was it the gas line?

But Rove flatly denied that the Bush administration said Iraqi oil revenues would help pay for the war

Lucy Van Pelt used to say:

"If you can't be right be wrong at the top of your lungs"

Lucy grew up to be a republican.

The addendum to that, as evinced by this article, is that if you repeat the same lies endlessly some morons will believe them to be truths.

"The likely economic effects [of a war in Iraq] would be relatively small.... Under every plausible scenario, the negative effect will be quite small relative to the economic benefits."

~Lawrence Lindsey
White House economic adviser

"Iraq is a very wealthy country. Enormous oil reserves. They can finance, largely finance the reconstruction of their own country. And I have no doubt that they will."

"It is unimaginable that the United States would have to contribute hundreds of billions of dollars and highly unlikely that we would have to contribute even tens of billions of dollars."

"The costs of any intervention would be very small."

Anyone who still thinks Karl Rove isn't a total lying sack of shit simply aint paying attention.

Be Well.

Are we in Afghanistan for the oil or the poppy?

Let's see.

The Taliban wiped out poppy production and opposed the natural gas pipeline that western Big Oil had been calling for fer over a decade.

Going in under the guise of nation building the US and it's allies, including Canada, have mostly built that pipeline and installed a regime that has close ties to the heroin dealers of Hellmond province.

The Russians, when they invaded and occupied the place, actually did a much better job of nation building in terms of dollars spent and achievements realized.

And they still got their asses kicked.

There's a reason they call this area the "graveyard of empires".

Be Well.

Ah well. Apologies to the libbies in the preceding posts, and to pole-smokers everywhere.
