PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - The retirement nest egg of an entire generation is stashed away in this small town along the Ohio River: $2.5 trillion in IOUs from the federal government, payable to the Social Security Administration.

It's time to start cashing them in.

Its only a couple a trill. No big deal. Besides, what does SS pay out these days? $600 a month? That won't even cover the credit card bills of some of these retiring boomers.

Oh dear, guess we'll have to do the same thing Ronnie Reagun did....raise the amount of income subject to the SS tax.
We might also consider why the federal government was borrowing so much from SS and other sources. Seems coincidental that the borrowing increased dramatically after huge tax cuts for the wealthy.

Starve The Beast

After almost a hundred years of rolling over its debts, paying only the interest, it was only a matter of time before the debt accumulated to where it was impossible to service.

If any corporation kept their books the way the Federal Government does, the officers would go to jail.
