Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

It was every businessperson's nightmare. Arriving at Harv's Metro Car Wash in Sacramento, Calif., Wednesday afternoon were two dark-suited IRS agents demanding payment of delinquent taxes. "They were deadly serious, very aggressive, very condescending," says Harv's owner, Aaron Zeff. The amount of money owed to the feds was 4 cents, plus four years of penalties and taxes totaling $202.31.

We've now entered fully into the age of governing Of the Government,By the Government and For the Government

And some wonder why people are flying airplanes into IRS buildings.

One of my Dad's favorite stories was about a friend of his who had an engine rebuilding business in the sixties.

He had been a POW of the Germans in WWII and never took any crap from anybody.

Two IRS guys paid him a visit and demanded his records. He had them stored in an unventilated attic over his shop and it was mid-summer.

He pointed to the stairs and said, "There they are, help yourself".

The agents tried to intimidate him into bringing them down.

He told them, "The law says I have to give you access, the rest is up to you."

They poked around for a few minutes, came down dripping with sweat and left him alone after that.

why wasn't he notified at any point during the four years that he owed money

4 cents?---why don't they go after all the Dems/leftists that owe thousands and love government spending?

hmmm... they probably were looking for a free car wash.

--Path~

Was one of them named Smith? (They're all "Smiths" you know!)

Seriously though, last time I filed my taxes, amounts were rounded to the nearest dollar.

"I think (the IRS) may have a problem with priorities"

Comment of the century.

And these clowns would be responsible for making sure you had your HealthCare card paid for in full... or else.

As long as your name is Geithner, Sebelius, Daschle, Kirk, etc. you have your sins remitted after saying 30 "Our Obama's".

Hypocrites.

Excellent!!

Cheese eating surrender monkey!

Here's my favorite IRS story. Facing an audit over a similarly ridiculous issue, a former roommate moved and had his case transferred, which always takes them 6 months. He did this repeatedly for 6 years and 11 months until they caught up to him in Hawaii, made vigorous threats, offered a quick compromise and closed the case. He had pay a couple thousand, but they had wasted far more in time and money. Same reason little people like the Vietcong, Iraqis and Taliban run rings around our finest Military in the world.

No. That happens because we're unwilling to commit enough troops to occupy the countries we bomb.

well they are going after all the rubs that have been hiding money offshore and claiming the tax code is illegal for years now..

I had a CPA that was a winger trying to con me into sending money offshore and that I should protest the illegality of the government taking my money..

I took my return info from him and found a new CPA.. you can visit that winger in jail.

Christ and I thought it was bad when they came after me for $32.00. I can't wait till these assclowns start collecting unpaid health care premiums.

Just over $200?

I am so screwed.

For years the IRS chased and threatened me for $50 . . . no matter how many times I faxed them a copy (back and front) of my check. About a dozen times in all. (They wanted me to send them the original.)

HA! Fat chance that would happen!

The IRS Tax Reform Act of 1998 got them off my back and saved a lot of trees.

I've heard the IRS is the most cold blooded organization on the face of the earth, with the possible exception of the Taliban.

well they are going after all the rubs that have been hiding money offshore and claiming the tax code is illegal for years now..

really? I've heard that crap for some time now.

link?

I wonder how many thousands of dollars have been spent in pursuit of these pennies.

I am a retired CPA that has dealt with the IRS for over 30 years and I find this story hard to swallow.

So now we know another way that Obamacare will be funded.

First we have to pay for those 2 unnecessary wars you supported.

First we have to pay for those 2 unnecessary wars you supported.

I thought Afghanistan was the 'necessary' war according to you douchebags. Also, Iraq seemed to have an awful lot of bi-partisan support - as did Operation Desert Fox in 1998; but I digress.

Going further, are you seriously going to try and justify fiscal criminalities on the part of the DNC simply because the GOP displayed corruption when they had power?

Did you post this thread or make the comment I was referring to? Then I guess I wasn't talking to you.

But since you stuck your nose in it.

What I am trying to say is that it seems people are willing to forgive a lot and spend endless amounts of cash with no question when it involves killing, but when the issue is helping folks get healthcare suddenly they're all up in arms.

Basically, if you didn't protest then, why now?

Amount past due- 4 cents
Added interest and fines- $202.35
Cost of two agents, car, gas- priceless

and knowing that the irs will chase down these paltry sums will keep thousands honest

4 cents?---why don't they go after all the Dems/leftists that owe thousands and love government spending?

I guess we all know the answer to that.

Basically, if you didn't protest then, why now?

Examine your premise.

If Bush spent money on a cause that you deem deplorable; why is that carte blanche for Obama and the Dems to spend recklessly as well?

Look in the mirror.

Care to show where I've given Obama "carte blanche" to spend as he wishes?

That being said, I still prefer they spend money to heal and feed people rather than kill them.

So in your mind, Killing people and healing them are equal endeavors? It was just my dislike of Pubs and Bush that caused my distaste for their policy of spending trillions on unjust wars?

What I am trying to say is that it seems people are willing to forgive a lot and spend endless amounts of cash with no question when it involves killing, but when the issue is helping folks get healthcare suddenly they're all up in arms.

Yeah, spending thousands to retrieve a few pennies will help "folks get healthcare." lol!

Right....Because we know this never happened under any other President.

Pssssst....that's sarcasm for those of you with red state educations.

This article sure was a long way to go to attack the President..

I love the 'drama' they try to point with this line;
".......were two dark-suited IRS agents demanding payment of delinquent taxes"

That's what agents do....demand payment, And since when do you see IRS agents wearing bright suits?

4 cents?---why don't they go after all the Dems/leftists that owe thousands and love government spending?

FatSlop,

I'm guessing it's because Obama decided not to politicize the departments, unlike your false-prophet, Herr Bush.

"If Bush spent money on a cause that you deem deplorable; why is that carte blanche for Obama and the Dems to spend recklessly as well?"

Not only that, but if you spent eight years saying what a stupid fucking idiot Bush is (and rightfully so), why does Bush all of the sudden become a measure for competence?

Obama supporters love to say two things "Bush did it too." and "He's doing better than Bush."

Well doing the same thing as the worst president we've had in a long time isn't a valid defense. And being better than the worst doesn't make one good or even competent.

All these comparisons to Bush prove is that the people making them have no standards at all.

Obama supporters love to say two things "Bush did it too." and "He's doing better than Bush."

When I say those things, it is to discredit the person I am saying it to, not to justify Obama. I am basically using those statements as "funny you hate it now when you loved it while Bush did it."

you loved it while Bush did it."
