Murray Hill might be the perfect candidate for this political moment -- a Washington outsider eager to reshape the way things are done in the nation's capital. But this little upstart is a start-up. Murray Hill is Murray Hill Inc., a five-year-old Maryland public relations company. "Until now, corporate interests had to rely on campaign contributions and influence-peddling to achieve their goals in Washington," the company said. "But thanks to an enlightened Supreme Court, now we can eliminate the middle-man and run for office ourselves."

"But thanks to an enlightened Supreme Court, now we can eliminate the middle-man and run for office ourselves."

Oh they are being ironic. It's a hipster corporation! At least I hope it is...

Hope you're right Andy...

Don't need another dimention of "progressives" entering the arena under the guise of (R).

Uffda !

And Southern Comfort with a lemon twist (on the rocks) for your women?

Okay Andy, this is the second time you made comment about my sig... I'm in the IT biz long time. Started participating in internet news groups back before IE and before Al Gore realized he invented the internet ;-)

My first name is Pat and my last name begins with H. Back in the late 80s I adopted the nic "PatH" which later became just "path" then others for whatever reason came up with the same nick, I changed to "Path" then shortly added the "~" at the end because it looks like a woodland path.

It has been my sig on many intranet as well as internet postings now since around 1997. Just now came to join this news group community of posters.

Living the dream, loving the life, get along little doggies, let's all be nice...

sooo, if the NRA, Budweiser, and NASCAR throw in too . . . this could get interesting

Since a corporation is considered to have the same rights as a person, this seems perfectly legal. I hope they really do run for office to show how stupid some of the activist USSC judges are. They are political judges---not Constitutional judges. They care nothing for the Constitution, America, or American citizens. The Constitution was written for American citizens---not American corporation.

Well Mark, Budweiser is now owned by the Dutch, no longer an American icon, so that would be more than interesting.

Drink Schlitz! (or Sam Adams)

not trying to be picky at an IT guy, but it's kinda obvious the George Bush actually invented the net . .

as evidenced by each and every address beginning with W~W~W . . .

thx

Okay MarkH, that deserves an LOL

So with that logic, Bush is even to blame for all the SPAM and viruses we suffer :-p

--Path~

ok, --patH~, how about Hooters?

or would that be 2 candidates?

they would certainly "stand out" in the race

I'd be pleased to "support" them

of course, very "firm" on economic issues

maybe "soft" on domestic policy?

"puppies" for every working man

AND naturally opposed to any cover-ups

I'm typeless

Old story. The corporation doesn't meet the age requirements, either. Nor the birth requirements, since a corporation isn't "born". Total waste of time, energy and effort.

"self-described progressive firm"

What else really needs to be said. Another fucknut liberal peon looking to make a little noise by misconstruing a court decision. But if the President can misconstrue the same decision to make a political point, why the hell not?

"Nor the birth requirements, since a corporation isn't 'born'"

I don't know about that, since corporations are registered in a paritcular state and with all the mergers, acquisitions, re-organizations, downsizing, right-sizing, best-shoring, and salary cuts, I feel like I gave birth to my company several times over.

whew!

--Path~

Well, was it a live birth or still-born, Path?

:^)

COL A1st (that's intranet speak for Chuckling Out Loud)... it was more like a midwife (of maybe midlife) experience

=(:-0

Hahaha that makes sense. I thought you just randomly generated a different kind of sig.

I won't say anything more about it!

And Gores invention is marvelous.

Praise Jesus; now American Religion Inc. can incorporate and run for office...

I think that the age thing could be by-passed by stating the average age of the stockholders...

Because, the reason the Corporation is considered a "person" is because it is a representative of a group of "people", so the average age of the group should be the legal age of the corporation. If not, any contract signed by a corporation that has not been established for at least 18 years would be null and void; one cannot enter into a contract with any "person" who is under 18 years of age...

when you're out of Schlitz....

The corporation doesn't meet the age requirements, either. Nor the birth requirements, since a corporation isn't "born". Total waste of time, energy and effort.

No problem they can now introduce petitions to change those laws and get the necessary signatures to put them on the ballets. You watch. The pubbies are so stupid they won't see through it until it is too late.

Good, bring it on, show the world how stupid the supreme court is. :-)

And Southern Comfort with a lemon twist (on the rocks) for your women?

SC and OJ-a comfortable screw for the women, or maybey add a shot of sloe gin, for a sloe comfortable screw.

***"SC and OJ-a comfortable screw for the women, or maybey add a shot of sloe gin, for a sloe comfortable screw."

I don't know about "SC", but I know "OJ" probably wouldn't be a "comfortable screw" for most women, given Nicole Brown's experience...

What else really needs to be said. Another fucknut liberal peon looking to make a little noise by misconstruing a court decision.

It's a PR firm. Their specialty is making noise and getting free publicity.

They'll probably get a lot of new business from other 'progressive' organizations. The justice comes later, when their 'progressive' clients don't pay the bill.

Vernon-
Are corporations also free to buy elections in Taiwan, or wherever the fuck it is you pretend to care about the US from?

Do you work for a corporation in Taiwan that is eager to get in the US game, Vernon?

I guess I'm just curious as to where you are coming from, dude.

BettleJuice,

I own my own business, incorporated in Tennessee as an LLC.

I live in Taiwan because my business requires me to spend a lot of time in Asia; Atlanta to Hong Kong is 22 hours, while Taipei to Hong Kong is less than 2 hours. That means a lot more time with my beautiful and sexy Filipina wife and our kids.

I'd much rather live in the Philippines, but Taiwan is a first world country with all the infrastructure I need.

My children go to local schools and are quickly learning a third language. In the 21st Century the most successful people will speak American English and Chinese.

I am an American. My children are Americans.

As for your ignorant 'care about' comment, there are millions of Americans all over the world, and most of them are connected to international business, and not the government. Do they not 'care about' America?

I am an American first. I am in Taiwan to serve Americans -- American hospitals and American research labs.

That's where I come from

hope that answers your questions

Vernon,

Putting politics aside, your #30 was a beautifully written post. I know you often take a lot of flak on here about the fact you don't live in the U.S. But one could tell your statements about being an American (along with your children) were heartfelt and a source of pride. Thanks for setting that part of the record straight.

"I know you often take a lot of flak on here about the fact you don't live in the U.S."

Naw, he takes a lot of flak because he's an arrogant dickhead.

:-)

"The justice comes later, when their 'progressive' clients don't pay the bill."

Sort of like the conservative tax cutters who left America owing and cut taxes at the same time.

Vern,

You are in Taiwan as an opportunist, recognizing failed Government policies for the opportunity they provide, you are taking your piece of that action.

Meanwhile, the American economy continue its decline, because of those failed policies, without a Demowussie or Rethuglian ever acknowledging the truth. Year after year what will not work is vigorously pursued.

The absurdity and corruption that pervades SCOTUS's latest rationalized power grab is revealed in Murray Hill's action. Same goons that refuse to accept counting votes correctly.

The corporation doesn't meet the age requirements, either. Nor the birth requirements, since a corporation isn't "born". Total waste of time, energy and effort.

We will see about that. All it will take is a petition from a 'non human citizen' to change the rules by challenging the law again and the bribed conservative SC will jump at the chance once again to rule in the corporations favor. You'll just wait and see.

I live in Taiwan because my business requires me to spend a lot of time in Asia...

BS, he lives in Taiwan so he can tend to his business that was outsourced to Taiwan because it is set up to benefit himself, not American workers and avoid paying his fair share in American taxes just like all the other outsourced American LLC's. He is an opportunist exploiting cheap labor and lack of sound environmental policies. Just take a look at his stand on AWG. Of course he will side with one of the worlds worst industrial polluters, Taiwan.

People like him will always base their science "education" on what suits them economically and then come back and waive the flag of American patriotism.

oh well, so much for my late night sentimental mood.

He is an opportunist exploiting cheap labor and lack of sound environmental policies. Just take a look at his stand on AWG. Of course he will side with one of the worlds worst industrial polluters, Taiwan.

I think he finds post-doctoral fellows to send to the US to fill research lab positions.

Hardly labor dependent or pollution producing in nature.

Vermin is aptly named.

Hmmm..

A corporation running instead of a political machine...

I think he finds post-doctoral fellows to send to the US to fill research lab positions.

If this is true, why doesn't he search for them in the USA? Like I said, cheap labor from foreigners. They sign a long term contract, the research labs get cheap labor and he get rich while writing off every penny of his living expenses because it's now travel expenses. I know exactly how the game is played.

"Total waste of time, energy and effort."

It keeps a horrible Supreme Court decision in the news, increasing the likeliness that it may be addressed (from 1% to 1.000001% but at least they are trying).
