PAPILLION, Neb. -- Authorities said a drunken driver showed up for his sentencing hearing drunk again.

Jason Botos, 30, was driven to court by his father and investigators said he was so drunk that he had to be helped inside and wasn't able to make his court appearance.

Hate it when that happens...

Well, at least he showed up...

They can't get him for FTA...

(failure to appear)

..although he may wish that was his problem when they do get through with him...

I predict that Jason is going to get a really good chance to dry out and think about his problem.

I had a DUI about 25 years ago, my only one. We had to take "alcohol education classes" as part of the deal. Twice a week, with one at 9am on Saturday morning. Cost $250 for the cycle (I think there were 6 of 'em). Our last day was the Saturday morning class, and the guy that sat next to me was HAMMERED. His offense was driving a mototcycle drunk. 9am on a Saturday, last day of the classes, and he couldn't stay sober. Amazing.
