Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

When asked by Houston's Ecclesia Church to contribute an image for a stations of the cross exhibition, 10-year-old Jackson Potts II turned in a photo illustration that was removed for being too upsetting -- a Crucifixion-inspired work depicting an officer beating his seven-year-old brother. "I think I've learned that not everyone is going to like what I do," Potts said.

Well according to the bible Jesus was beaten and crucified by the policemen of his time. Not sure what the big deal is here.

Another lesson in the pussy-ness of Texans.

Not a day goes by without a stupid story from Texas. Just secede already.

I think a photo of a crucifix submerged in a jar of
urine or an openly gay Jesus would be much more palatable.

~ warmest regards, the LEFT

I think we should torture and kill anyone who wishes to express thoughts that offend our religious sensibilities by a photo of a crucifix submerged in a jar of urine or an openly gay Jesus.

YEEHAW, the RIGHT

You know Jesus was the catcher.

Which is more offensive-a child being beaten by an adult-or an inanimate object being soaked in a jar of urine-or-the thought that-maybe a man KNOWN for kindness and gentility MIGHT have been gay?

Jesus Christ is the LAST person most conservatives want to think about. They threw him under the bus years ago in their rush to embrace greed and hate and selfishness.

For a 10-year-old, that kid has a real talent for producing provocative art. His rejected photo of the crucifixion is pretty amazing.

10 years old. Amazing how kids put things together better than we adults do.

thought that-maybe a man KNOWN for kindness and gentility MIGHT have been gay?

Not the way he and his posse dressed.

FF for NG.

But you know, Christian Dior, despite the similarity in names, was not around yet.

I live in Austin, would it be o.k. if first my city were to secede from the rest of the state?

I agree, although I honestly like the replacement photo better than the "provocative" one.

Not to be a Doubting Thomas, but these don't seem like the work of a child.
Don't get me wrong, I hope they are, but they show an artistic maturity that isn't generally realized that young.

Well said, although there's a "pearls before swine" saying that comes to mind.
