Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton warned Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Friday that the U.S.-Israeli relationship is at risk unless Israel took immediate steps to demonstrate it was interested in renewing efforts at a Middle East peace agreement.

Wow, how dare she demand they not take advantage of us?

Didn't Biden just say we were committed to Israel? Contradiction or confusion?

If only we had her dealing with GNOPers.

hmm, a tough call here . . .

if Palestine lays down their armament - - there is peace in the middle east

if Isreal lays down their armament - - Israel is wiped out

if Palestine lays down their armament - - there is peace in the middle east

if Isreal lays down their armament - - Israel is wiped out

really you think its that simple.
no wonder you aren't in charge.

Klif, as that situation is waaaay over there, I think that a more complex analysis on my part would be irrelevant . . . .
anyways, if ya need more - - -

observation shows that if ya give the Jews some land - - they build infrastructure, houses, factories, churches, gardens and have families

the Palestians on the other hand, throw rocks, tear shit up, throw more rocks, blow shit up including themselves, all in spite of the UN throwing BILLIONS at them . . .

where do I have it wrong?

"observation shows that if ya give the Jews some land - - they build infrastructure, houses, factories, churches, gardens and have families

the Palestians on the other hand, throw rocks, tear shit up, throw more rocks"

well since they are not allowed to have food or water with out israeli permission and when they build houses they get bulldozed by the israeli military to make way for isreali settlements...

unfortunately, i think you are very wrong.

your observations are very biased.

you should really stop listening to one sided propaganda.

both sides are at fault and the civilians are the ones suffering.

both sides are at fault
#8

Nope, only one side..you know which one.

Howcome Egypt has their border sealed?

You don't seem to have a problem with THAT.

rwd

your observations are very biased.

#8 | Posted by klifferd

klif, have you considered that YOUR views could be biased??

further checking bears out my original observations - - - please google street view . . .

a) Boca Raton

b) Downtown Detroit

thx in advance . . hope that helps

It is simplistic to characterize the Israeli-Palestinian conundrum as 'Jews build. Muslims destroy.' It is equally simplistic to believe that but for Israel, the Palestinians would have developed a flourishing society.

Anyone who thinks the Palestinians are the biggest obstacle to peace in the MidEast is obviously not paying attention at all.

While the Pals are often their own worst enemy in terms of progressing the peace process they simply do not the power to initiate it, only stop it.

Hillary is due to speak before AIPAC very shortly in Washington. Spud wonders if she will continue on with the strong language or walk some of it back.

We will see.

Be Well.

Nobody wants to try bashing Hill here? How about Benny Netanyahoo? Biden? The Israeli government? The Palestinians?

Awwww, you guys iz no fun!!!

Be Well.

It embarrassed Joe Biden. Uh huh.

I've watched this clown enough to know that he brought it on himself, whatever it was.

I've watched this clown enough to know that he brought it on himself, whatever it was.

Israel has shown itself to be totally uninterested in seriously advancing the peace process once again and this time they did it in such a way as to deliberately give a hearty FU to the Obama administration's efforts to make Israel make a good faith effort towards advancing the two state solution.

And that's Biden's fault?

Wow, yer dumb.

Either that or a mindless partisan hack.

Be Well.

Hmmmm. Well, maybe Biden should have ascertained Israel's true intentions. You know, given their history, before giving a big speech about it.

But what's the diff? How many health care "deadlines" from this administration have come and gone? How about vis a vis Iran? Nothing this administration says or does has any teeth. Why fault the Israelis for figuring that out too?

in such a way as to deliberately give a hearty FU to the Obama administration's efforts to make Israel make a good faith effort towards advancing the two state solution.

a) kudos to the Jews for the "hearty FU" . . . btw, following the example of Las Vegass mayor - -
here's hoping that ins companies, auto companies, doctors, small business, big business, banks, fishermen, hunters, blue dogs, and the American people will follow suit

b) Hilary is smoozing for the Jewish vote for her 2012 primary challenge

Israel has shown itself to be totally uninterested in seriously advancing the peace process once again . . .

again, that's waaay over there . . . but why should they give up anything?

whether the Palestineans lost that land in a war(s) or in a game of Texas hold'em, it makes no diff to me - -
they should just get jobs & buy a new homeland

again, that's waaay over there . . . but why should they give up anything?

Great point. It IS "waaay over there" so f*ck both of them and their sh*tty wars. Israel doesn't fight with America, but they're more than happy to spy on the US, sell our military technology to countries we ask them not to, and build more settlements while giving the US the finger.

As far as giving up anything, why should Americans have their tax dollars sent to Israel to the tune of 10 BILLION (with a B) per year?

Seriously.
Why are gentiles required to fund the Jewish state with their tax dollars?
Everyone on here should do some serious research on how much money the US has really sent Israel since it's creation.

How about sending a "tough" message to Iran?

"Why are gentiles required to fund the Jewish state with their tax dollars?" -sluggo

I see you skipped the classes on the second worst president in, nor Isreal is a strong suit of yours, but lets answer the question...

Carter offered bot Egypt and Israel a bribe to make peace. Egypt receives 2/3rds of what Israel is receiving. Lets not forget that when you complain only about Israel's cost, you are missing 1/3 of the problem. Second Israel is composed of Arab/Muslims, and Jews, almost a 60/40 split.

To answer the taters diatribe would require a couple of posts, I don't have the time to waste on those with conformational bias. But just understand when the US administration does Palestine's bidding, Palestine doesn't need to concede anything, in which case you get Israel not conceding anything.

The case in point, all low level meetings between Israel, and Palestinians stopped once Obama was in inaugurated. The Palestinians saw no reason too, Obama was doing their bidding.

The whole Arab-Isreali thing is a cluster-f^%$ and has been for decades.

We now have a more pro-Arab leadership in power now and Israel knows it.

What the WH will soon realize, pandering to the Arabs will only show us as weak in their eyes and prop up the terrorists lead regimes. The Arabs want Israel and the US destroyed, not peace. The religion of Islam does not want to "get along" with it's neighbors, it's only goal is to convert or destroy.

the israeli government response: building more settlements. i.e. fuck you.

your observations are very biased.

you should really stop listening to one sided propaganda.

both sides are at fault and the civilians are the ones suffering.

Claiming someones observations is bias, seems a bit ironic considering your retort that evrything is Israels fault. Jews, Christians and Muslims live peacefully in Israel, will the same ever be said of the Palestinians?

The Palestinians need another great leader. A leader
with great charisma, personal charm, and integrity.

Did Yasser Arafat have a son?

Be Well.

I hate agreeing with democrats. Thank god it happens so rarely.

#19 | Posted by Sluggo

good point sluggo . . . where the hell does all that money go??
granted, some $$ for defense and being a stablizing influence in the area, but those settlements don't look much like Boca - -

The U.S. needs to suspend all aid to Israel until it stops building settlements, and agrees to a timetable for abandoning existing settlements.

how do you make peace with someone who will not recognize your right to exist?

Did Yasser Arafat have a son?

no,he was as gay as barney frank.

huh? why would ya want the entire region to look like Detroit?

if people wanna enhance their own land by building . . more power to 'em

the Palestinians lost that land (and/or abandoned it) . . . wars DO have losers, AND wars may even be "not fair"

dude - - it's not like a PC little league where no score is kept and everyone gets trophies & treats

huh? why would ya want the entire region to look like Detroit?

There are plenty of people who would move into abandoned settlements. They're living in refugee camps. You know, the ones that the Israeli hardliners have done their best to seal off from the rest of the world.

if people wanna enhance their own land by building . . more power to 'em

It isn't their land to "enhance".

the Palestinians lost that land (and/or abandoned it) . . . wars DO have losers, AND wars may even be "not fair"

Were you or your family forced off your land so some squatters could move in, you might have a slightly different opinion. If, after a war or natural disaster, you returned to your land to find your home bulldozed and some foreigner building apartments on it, you might be a wee bit pissed. You might feel like resorting to violence.

#30 | Posted by markh

I'm not interested in seeing the next world war start in the mideast because religious nuts like Netanyahoo think they have a Biblical claim on "Judea" and "Samaria".

#31...

You seem to forget the Arab world abandoned the Palestinian people. There is plenty of room to build a society along the Mediterranian Sea in Egypt.

paper tiger just like all the other dems

dude . . . the Jews WON the war - - -
historicaly they could make a case for killing or enslaving the losers

however zombie, I'll gladly change my view - - IF ya REALLY CAN make YOUR case . . .
you can then help me re-claim some primo land in the Alps that Stalin chased my ancesters out of . . .

I'll await your gracious help . . . and . . thx in advance

eventually israel will be nuked and the palestinians, even if they are only one or two left, will claim victory, so really, does it make a difference?

So, JUST WHEN are the Jews in this country going to realize that this Democrat administration is Not supportive of Israel!

And when will it make their actions make difference in their dogmatic thinking that the Dems are on their side and cause them to consider that perhaps the Republicans, and especially Conservative Republicans are absolutely supportive of Israel and have been for decades?

israel is nothing more thah a hole in the head to american jews, just as the palestinian cause is nothing more than a hole in the head to the muslims.

bitter old conservatives who used to snicker privately when reading about the jewish accounts during WWII have been cozying up to them cuz they help keep their guys in power... LOL!

To which Nuttyyahoo responded "the holocaust, the holocaust", now where's my money, bitch?

It embarrassed Joe Biden. Uh huh.
I've watched this clown enough to know that he brought it on himself, whatever it was.

Is it possible this scenario has been invented for Hillary Clinton? While you are watching Biden closely would suspending Israel's invasion into Palestine gift Clinton the Presidency 2012?

Either way, it's a good thing to defend your Presidential colleagues who happen to both be Christian, particularly when even American fundamentalists threaten Glenn Beck! Israel's days as "favorite" are numbered.

I'll bet the administration simply threatens to write them a letter telling them how angry they are. Yawn.

"This time we really mean it."
"This time we really, really mean it."
"This time we really, really, really, mean it."
"This time we really, really, really, really, mean it."

The Obama Admin

Respect is not given it is earned.

"Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton warned Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Friday that the U.S.-Israeli relationship is at risk unless Israel took immediate steps to demonstrate it was interested in renewing efforts at a Middle East peace agreement."

Does anybody really believe that there is anything that Israel could do that would affect the strong ties between the two governments?

"seems a bit ironic considering your retort that evrything is Israels fault."

yea.. i said that??

prove it?

show me where i said everything is israels fault?

your making shit up.

"Alps that Stalin chased my ancesters out of . . . "

problem is doucheh. that the palestinians are in a prison.

they can't leave that land to go start a new homeland either.

and yes i DO have a problem with the egyptian government. they are a bunch of pussies who just like the american govt ask "how high" when israel say's jump.

"seems a bit ironic considering your retort that evrything is Israels fault."

I was responding to you calling someone else bias, and cherry picking this comment gave me the impression you were bias as well, Saying "everything" was a bit of a stretch, but #5 and #7 retorts both argue a posters claim that the Palestinians are the aggressors.
