Costa Rica has always ranked extremely high on the life expectancy charts.

Japan leads the way - and most especially Okinawa, with the highest percentage of 100 yr-olds in the world. The common thread among all the healthiest countries is diet/lifestyle.

Far down longevity list is USA. We spend FAR, FAR, FAR more per capita on drugs and medical interventions in this country than ANY of those with much higher life expectancies. It's ass-backwards here. More DRUGS and surgeries are not the answers to improved health.

Diets full of refined/fake/artificially preserved/colored/fat and sugar laden foods will ALWAYS wreak havoc on functional health.

So - we talk about throwing 100's of billions here and a trillion there at "health care". It's all total smokescreen bullshit. Until the entire paradigm shifts toward fueling our cells with actual building blocks they need to function - and I'm not holding my breath - real health is totally out of reach.

No, Dave, you are the one missing the point.

Countries like Costa Rica have two parallel health systems. The cash business is different doctors, different hospitals and different technology -- all vastly superior compared to what the peasants get.

Rush Limbaugh is not going to sit on a hard plastic chair in a hot, dusty waiting room.

He'll be at the gated hospital across town, enjoying air conditioning and ESPN while he is treated by American-trained doctors.
