Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Monday, March 08, 2010

One of our closest primate relatives, the bonobo, has been shown to voluntarily share food rather than dine alone. "We found that the test subjects preferred to voluntarily open the recipient's door to allow them to share the highly desirable food that they could have easily eaten alone," said Dr. Brian Hare from Duke University.

Bonobos make tasty bush meat. Kinda tastes like chicken.

Thanks for posting that, RCade. It is pleasant to find out that our closest relative, the bonobo, is so pleasant, caring, liberal, and well socialized.

Are they related to Macaca?

Absolutely vital research, leading us down the path to greater understanding of the often forgotten bonobo. Good job!

I hope the science was funded by our tax dollars so we can all feel warm and fuzzy.

Liberal? You just compared three apples and one orange. Nothing about liberalism resembles the other three traits.

If the Bonobos were liberal they would be taking the food from others and giving it to their friends.

they would be taking the food from others and giving it to their friends.

I guess that makes White-fronted African bee eaters liberals.

Co-operation is an essential survival trial for advanced species.

Even monkeys know this.

Who knows, maybe one day Republicans will discover this truth too.

* fingers crossed *

Be Well.

trial = trait.

Spud = Need more coffee!

There must and shall be caffeine!

Be Well.

I wonder if the Bonobos ever sing the song "Imagine"?

WTF does that have to do with a huge government that wastes more than it eats?

I doubt it, since their model for society is a termite mound.

"I wonder if the Bonobos ever sing the song "Imagine"?"

As highly intelligent animals, I would hope they would see "Imagine" for the sickly-sweet, childish Utopian nonsense it is. ;)

You statement is UNcommon sense.

Socialized? Yes. Socialists? No.

It's still one's decision to share. They are not forced to. Get the difference? Probably not.

Conservatives fit this mold much better than "Liberals".

Conservatives give because they have somethng to give.

Liberals give away property belonging to someone else because Liberals HAVE NOTHING!

It's a fact that Conservatives are far more "giving" than Liberals.

This mindset that Liberals are more caring and more giving is the biggest lie going around now.

Liberals think they are more giving because they want to consfigate property from the working folks to give to the lazy to get votes -- TO GAIN POWER!!

It's common sense!

Who knows, maybe one day Republicans will discover this truth too.

* fingers crossed *

Be Well.

One day you might get it!

There is a huge difference between Dependence and Interdependence.

Communism, on paper, is a great example of interdependence, but it turns into making EVERYONE dependent on the Motherland.

Capitalism has proven the best relationship for humans to be interdependent.

I agree with your naive way of thinking. I wish that we could live in money-less society where there is abundance and everyone is participating according to their individual interest and gets what they need, but I live in reality. We're getting there, but we're not there yet.

You say you're not a Socialist, but you talk like one. Curious!

I usually don't make an effort to argue with BoOb wanna-be's, but I have to ask you this,

Do you understand the difference between limited government (founding fathers) and no government (anarchy)

I'll stop there.
