Corker's action extends a years-long fight in Washington between the mostly non-union FedEx and its unionized rival United Parcel Service Inc. over how workers at both companies should be treated under U.S. labor laws. "We are supportive of the Senate FAA bill, but we have placed a hold until we can be assured that the controversial FedEx provision will not be included in the final legislation," Laura Lefler Herzog, a spokeswoman for Corker, a Republican, said today in an e-mailed statement.

Once again, Republicans prove that they hate the working man almost as much as they hate women.

God help the poor working woman!!!!

As soon as the nice library lady finishes changing his Depends, the Babbler will be along to parrot some nonsence from Glen Beck about how unions were the reason of September 11, 2001 or some other insane bullshit.

Everyone knows unions are socialist.

Like, come on...the UNION of Soviet SOCIALIST Repubics....HMMM????? HOW MUCH CLEARER DOES IT HAVE TO BE FOR YOU BRAINLESS IDIOTS!!!

On the other hand, you have a fresh diaper and are filling the thread with shit in a very timely fashion.

UPS and FedEx show us that both companies can be very competitive despite their different business models.

Why should one delivery company get special treatment from the govt besides being headquartered in Corker's s state?

I've got a lot of experience with UPS and its union. If FedEx employees are stupid enough to buy into that, they deserve what they get. God help them.

I won't send anything UPS ever again and don't want to receive anything delivered by them either.

A few computer monitors and a couple of glass items delivered by UPS have arrived as damaged as if Ace Ventura was driving the truck. In another instance, they delivered an expensive piece of music gear to the wrong address (a church) and left it on the porch, where someone walked away with it.

Try to get them to provide any damages was a wasted effort.

Never had a problem with FedEx Ground or USPS.

FedEx employess are treated well, but that's largely due to Fred Smith still in the CEO's seat.

Once he's gone we'll see how FedEx employees feel about working there, or how they're treated.

They can always go the fuck away and work for someone else. If the employees are so desperate to pay union dues, they can work for UPS. Bunch of fucking crybabies.

Isn't Fed Ex owned by it's employees?

Publicly traded

fiction
nonsense
partisan rambling
democrat gibberish

I know that a hate merchant like you wont like me listing those discriptive terms but
HEY look at how 'civil' I was.

good job senator..
maybe you can keep more people working if you dont kiss the union's ass since that has become rather secondary to many unions these days.

Well good, unions are bad news.

Unions are still necessary and will become increasingly so in the bad days ahead.

Allowing FDX to continue to run under the RLA rather than the NLRA is nonsensical.

Corker should stuff a cork in it.

Be Well.

DeadPud! You got major problems in Canada. Better catch the next flight to Alberta and straighten out them Canucks.

The difference between Fedex and UPS is pretty simple.

Fedex is an airline that ownes a few trucks, UPS is a trucking company that owns a few airplanes.

Fedex was set up under and is regulated by the RLA just like all the other airlines.

Corker isn't stopping the truck drivers from forming a union. The pilots at Fedex are union. All the truckers have to do is form a union under the rules of the RLA, just like all the unions at every airline have done in the past

"Fedex was set up under and is regulated by the RLA just like all the other airlines."

That's nonsense, Fedex is not an airline and does basicly the same thing that UPS does. They compete directly with each other for the exact same customers, they should both be governed by the same set of rules.

Delta airlines also has a cargo operation, should they also be treated as a cargo company

You guys do know that those FedEx trucks that you see are not owned and operated by FedEx. The trucks and routes are bought by individuals.

SICKOFLIBS : Please do not burden the left with facts as it confuses them.

Gotta love the conservatives who like to interject their non-abilities into the free market.
