Eventually, all money trails lead to Bib Oil. Who cares anymore. If they are so terrible, come up with an alternative that is just as affordable, and if not, give it out for free until everyone has it if it is so good.

Sceptics are fighting a billion dollar industry aligned with a trillion dollar trading scheme. Big Oil's supposed evil influence has been vastly outdone by Big Government, and even those taxpayer billions are trumped by Big-Banking.

I've been making this same point for over a year now and it ALWAYS falls on deaf ears of whichever 'believer' I am discussing this issue with.

Follow the money is great when it's applied accross the board. The fact is, without AGW alarmism current green energies wouldn't exist as the public wouldn't stand for the massive subsidies that are propping up shitty, inefficient and non-competitive energy sources. The sale of carbon credits would die too as would movies about inconvenient truths. Hell, a fair amount of scientific grant money would dry up as well when it comes to the study of climatology.

Brushing off skeptics with 'follow the money' is the biggest hypocritical argument a believer can make.

Arguments on both side are fuled by money.

Just look at the health benefits of eggs, it changes all the time depending on who has the money.

Scientist are human just like the rest of us.

Nothing surprising here.

So why is Exxon Mobil pushing for a carbon tax? I thought big oil didn't want the global warming agenda to go thru?
What a bunch of suckers you are if you believe that man made global warming is real. No wonder the bakers were able to rip you off without a fight..

According to the New York Times, abandoning cap and trade in favor of a carbon taxwhich the proposal by Sens. Lindsey Graham, John Kerry, and Joe Lieberman would dohad already been proposed by ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, and BP America. Refiners have complained about the unfairness of the cap and trade system passed by the House last summer, and their concerns have won over senators like Graham and the important swing vote of Democrat Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, whose state benefits from oil industry revenues.

Exxon, Conoco, and BP don't necessarily speak for all refiners, but Sen. Graham hopes this initial industry support could win over oil-state senators needed to get any climate legislation through the Senate. Environmental and liberal groups are wary of the international oil majors, but would support the new proposal if it achieves emissions reductions.

bankers....

Mysterytoy. This has covered ad nauseum and easily debunked. Why is it relevant as just one of hundreds of unsubstantiable, outright lies?

Why would you post a complete thread as if it were truth [to the benefit of the scam artists who usually purport these fallacies]?

Huh?

So you agree with what the author is saying then?

This story is on ABC and not Fox News or some web site in the UK.

This is not our ABC; it's the Australia Broadcasting Corporation:

From the comments section of the article:

Up until about the late 1990s, when climate change became an indisputable reality, popular scientific theory had relaxed into the opinion that the geography of earth had reached a point of stasis. As far as most people could tell, there were less earthquakes than during the dawn of time, fewer erupting volcanoes than before amoebic life forms had developed, and both poles seemed to have settled into regular ice fields following the end of the ice age that killed all of the dinosaurs. No meteors were smashing into the planet and nothing catastrophic had happened since World War II (which was an event produced by human activity). Everybody expected, if anything, for the earth to grow cooler with time. Then suddenly farmers started noticing that their crops were flowering out of season. And sometimes, they said, orchards flowered several times a year as opposed to once each spring. In fact, farmers had noticed these things two decades earlier, in the early 1970s, but nobody listened because farmers were supposed to be uneducated hill billies and the purveyors of unsubstantiated yokel myth. Finally, somebody decided to investigate because the farmers were adamant and wanted crop security. A scientific investigation was set in place, and climate models of the earth were produced cheaply. Everybody expected the models to show no change at all, and hoped this would silence a growing concerned group of citizens that included a wide variety of people from horticulture experts to every day consumers. What the climate models produced, to everybody's astonishment, was data that supported what the farmers had been saying all along. This came as a surprise because everyone had preferred before to simply blame the farmers for poor land management practices. The data, however, seemed to indicate that human activity all over the world (in urban areas as well as on farms) was causing a general warming effect. Scientists were initially sceptical of their own data and decided that their models were incorrect and hadn't enough information built into them to produce accurate results. So more models were built, more data pumped into the models, and more results recorded. Astoundingly, this time the new and improved models produced data indicating that climate change had become even more pronounced. Again the climate change scientists were baffled. They went away and applied for more funding, which they got because a lot of people by this time were growing worried and some donors only needed to hear that the scientists wanted to prove that their models were wrong before handing out more cash. This time the scientists didn't just pump more data into their models, they went out and collected fresh data, thinking that the old data might have been flawed or out of date. Quite a lot of time was spent collecting new data, and then this was fed back into further revised climate change models. Guess what they found?

QFT.

AGW is real.

The author of this piece makes her living as a sower of cognitive dissonance on the subject and then tries to assert a false money trail between Big Oil, global banking and AGW research. Ignoring the dearth of peer reviewed research on AGW in favor of cherry picked denier whaargarbl.

Be Well.

Keeping actual Earth temperature rises from being recorded properly is 'Global Dimming', i.e. reflective particulate pollution in the atmosphere. There are several huge regions around the world where it hangs in the air reflecting sunlight and lessening the effects of global warming.

We'd love to. Unfortunately. The oil companies BUY our legislators to keep any progress from being made.

Eliminate the 'corporate person' fallacy and save the world, anything else is a waste of time.

Big oil is pushing one side of the argument, and socialist / power-grabbing governments are pushing the other side.

Personally, they both disgust me. However, the people who should be searching for an answer can't, because any data that doesn't match what their employer wants is quickly squashed / hidden / etc.

Really, which set of liars (gov't or business) and which set of I'll-give-you-whatever-
results-you-want-for-your-
money set of scientist are we supposed to believe today?

A pox on both their houses.

'Global Dimming'

Ah, yes the Catch 22 situation.

Basically, the pollution in our atmosphere has helped slow down the global warming effect. Ergo if we clean up our atmosphere we screw ourselves. If we don't we're also screwed.

Interesting times, indeed.

Just to be clear here, the science is in on AGW but that doesn't mean that there aren't folks out there in the international banking community poised to take full advantage of the crisis by making trading in Carbon a multi-billion dollar industry that does little to nothing to improve things.

Those are 2 seperate debates.

Be Well.

Deth, the science isn't settled... the ones paid for by the companies that will make a profit if it is fake all say it is fake... and the ones paid by the various gov't to show that it is real so they can separate the citizens from their freedoms and money all say we are gonna die tomorrow if you don't surrender to gov't.

Which group of lying sacks of shit who will give any answer as long as they get another grant are you going to believe? And why?

GW is as much an article of faith as any religion. It has about as much proof, about as many holes in the dogma, and you are just as likely to be killed by either group of fanatics if you don't agree with them. And man-made vs natural is like catholics and protestants.

Yeah, yeah. Big oil is the enemy. Will Al Gore provide fuel for my car?

And the other side is led by gore, soros, and the Pew Foundation...hiding behind 527's....

same people crying foul here are some of the same ones who say it doesnt matter that one report after another shows where people just MADE UP Shit to prove GW...

what a bunch of nimrods.

AND so can we also look at where some of that SEVEN DOLLAR A GALLON gas money that the reports are that obama is wanting for green jobs.,
can we look at where THAT money might go or can we assume it will be direct deposited into AL GORES bank account

The money trail leads to Al Gore, and David De Rotheschild.

Americans better hope that they don't pass the carbon tax. You're already in the red, and if they jack your taxes with the carbon tax, plus all of the new green rules, you will be living in government control freak hell.

This isn't about enviromental health. If it was about a cleaner planet someone would be screaming at the top of their lungs about all of the depleted uranium being used in the world now. They don't even know what to do with the radio active waste they have now, and they want to build more nuclear reactors. They give the radio active waste to the arms industry to incorporate in their weapons.
Its a sick joke satanic elite love to play on the sheeple. Make you pay for your own destruction.

GW is as much an article of faith as any religion. It has about as much proof, about as many holes in the dogma,

so you are saying there is no God?
