Hope everybody is OK.

But guns are illegal in DC.

Hope the officers are OK and the perp lives a long time as an invalid in constant agony, just like that shit at Ft Hood.

The Pentagon is in VA

I always thought DC was 10 miles square. I musta thought wrong

So is this a lone terrorist??

go blow somewhere else, murph. Read redneck's thread.

this wouldn't have happened if everyone was anally raped with a 10" studded metal detector before setting foot one on the metro.

This has got to be just about THE worst place to try and pull a stunt like this since 9/11 happened. The gunman pulled out a pistol in front of the pentagon entrance from the subway.

The security staff is trained and they immediately pulled out automatic weapons and critically wounded the perpetrator.

Two officers suffered non critical grazing wounds in the crossfire of weapons.

Law enforcement did the job they are trained and paid to do. I hope the officers a quick recovery.

Happy ending except for the gunman. He may not live.

Is it just me, or at what point does someone think "HHUUMMM, I have a really good idea"?

Sounds like he was trying to off himself. Pretty selfish way to do it...

"this wouldn't have happened if everyone was anally raped with a 10" studded metal detector before setting foot one on the metro.

That's one way to increase ridership.

Maybe among poofs like lettuce spray, it would.

The suspect, identified as 36-year old John Patrick Bedell,

Muslim jihadist? Or tea bagger patriot?

Or your run of the mill libtard....probably pissed that his welfare check didn't get there quick enough...

Or your run of the mill libtard..

Thought libtards didn't carry guns.

Sed who? They just want you to think that...

^_^

Libtards will have their guns but don't want you to have yours

This is just the beginning. People are hurting and unable to attain such luxuries as food. Everyone blames the government (rightly). So the targets will be the government. The question is, how do you stop it?

I say, We need to replace all the sitting government officials all at the same time. A clean sweep. It is the only way to break the ties of corporate money and politics.

Could this be achieved? Probably not. so this cycle will continue...

Rule of 12.

12 yrs in municipal
12 yrs in County
12 yrs in State
12 yrs in Federal

6 two-yr terms in House,
2 six-year terms in Sen
3 four year terms in POTUS

or any combo, but 12 and done, go fucking home. Your bank accounts will be audited on the way out the door.

If you want to be a career politician, you've got to start at the bottom. This will allow you 48 yrs max.

Just short sample of the normalized crazy that seems to justify SOME terrorism as A-OK and even patriotic and to be expected, depending on who does it...

Libtards will have their guns but don't want you to have yours

Maybe the shooter decided to get taken out by pulling one of those "suicide by cops" stunts.

Prolix-
Your justification of murder as a passive observer is very morally relativistic, and quite evil.

#20 | Posted by BetelG

I hope you are not attempting to label me as a Liberal because I am not.

Have you not noticed the increase of incidents at government building?

People are having a tough time and the government is still favoring corporations over people.

You should study history more and see how countries fail and people revolt.

#22 | Posted by BetelG

Being a veteran of the Navy during Gulf 1 I am already a sanctioned murderer by my government.

What is your point?

Prolix-
re: "Have you not noticed the increase of incidents at government building?"

Yes. I have also noticed your prolific justifications of it (murder).

Why are there only 9 members on the facebook page for this website. Even if you disagree add yourself and let people know there is a site like this worth commenting on..............

Prolix-
re: "I hope you are not attempting to label me as a Liberal because I am not."

You don't seem to comprehend the written word very well. You are a right-winger who seems to get his jollies as an apologist for the murder of US gov't personnel, which is odd considering your claim that you are a vet.

#25 | Posted by BetelG

I don't justify anything. I give my opinion. Just like you.

Weak.

Very Weak.

Or your run of the mill libtard....probably pissed that his welfare check didn't get there quick enough...

Yeah, because welfare checks are issued from the pentagon.

Are you always this stupid?

Have you not noticed the increase of incidents at government building?

People are having a tough time and the government is still favoring corporations over people.

You should study history more and see how countries fail and people revolt.

Do you think the pot stirring by people like Glenn Beck have anything to do with this?

I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

#27 | Posted by BetelG

I am not a "right-winger" either genius. Look at my history.

I have been a registered independent for 20 years. I vote on issues and national and local seats based on my opinion of the candidates. I am not wed to any party.

Don't be so reactionary...

It is funny how seemingly good, ordinary people can delve into justifying criminal acts when the outcome suites their perspective.

-Prolix

#30 | Posted by jpw

Of course it does. Anyone who is being honest will admit that a repeated message will become a "Truth" whether truthful of not.

So you keep saying the black man is going to ruin our country, most people will forget is was screwed when he entered office...

re: Don't be so reactionary...

LOFL!

I don't give a rat's ass what your game is. You have gone over the edge.

#32 | Posted by BetelG

What is your point?

Again I am not justifying anything. Where did I ever say it was a good or bad thing?

Now it is honesty time for you.

Put that comment in context. You obviously know how to use the history function here..

I don't give a rat's ass what your game is. You have gone over the edge.

#34 | Posted by BetelG #34 | Posted by BetelG

Okay,

Justify that statement.

Or admit you have nothing to base your comments.

Re: Again I am not justifying anything. Where did I ever say it was a good or bad thing?

Exactly.

"Two Cops Shot at Pentagon" and it's neither a "good or bad thing" to you, but merely an opportunity to make your detached observation that it is to be expected and that there is more to come.

Either your are stupid or pretend to be, and I have little tolerance for either.

g'night blog

You are a right-winger who seems to get his jollies as an apologist for the murder of US gov't personnel, which is odd considering your claim that you are a vet.

I didn't get that at all from what prolix said.

There actually seemed to be a note of sadness to what he said, that this may be a nasty cycle arising and the solution to it doesn't appear to be on the horizon.

Best News All Day!

#37 | Posted by BetelG

So unless I follow your dictate and mourn as you or get upset as you about current events )that I have no direct contact to) that I am somehow stupid.

You know maturity is such a wonderful thing. It grants you the opportunity to think before you make an idiot of yourself.

I am sorry son. You fail the adult test.

Of course it does. Anyone who is being honest will admit that a repeated message will become a "Truth" whether truthful of not.

So you keep saying the black man is going to ruin our country, most people will forget is was screwed when he entered office...

Sad but true.

Unfortunately the rabble rousers will never be held to account. They're just asking questions...

"Do you think the pot stirring by people like Glenn Beck have anything to do with this?
I wouldn't be surprised if it did."

SURPRISE!

"There were signs, however, that Bedell may have harbored resentment for the military and had doubts about the facts behind the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks."

"he was "determined to see that justice is served" in the death of Marine Col. James Sabow, who was found dead in the back yard of his California home in 1991. The death was ruled a suicide but the case has long been the source of theories of a coverup.
The user named JPatrickBedell wrote the Sabow case was "a step toward establishing the truth of events such as the September 11 demolitions."

"That same posting railed against the government's enforcement of marijuana laws and included links to the author's 2006 court case in Orange County, California, for cultivating marijuana and resisting a police officer."

The user named JPatrickBedell wrote the Sabow case was "a step toward establishing the truth of events such as the September 11 demolitions."

So...the guy was a Bob?

Yes. I have also noticed your prolific justifications of it (murder).

Acknowledging that something is occurring and stating it will take place more often as times get rougher for people is not the same as stating "Man, I hope more people shoot up government buildings".

It's amazing how you came up with this considering Prolix's posting history. You think maybe he should create a new name and start over by pretending to be someone else?

Do you think the pot stirring by people like Glenn Beck have anything to do with this?

I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

#30 | Posted by jpw

Beck? please engage brain before operating keyboard - -

dude . . .
this Bedell character was a "self-proclaimed" - Bush hating -weed smokin' - anti Fed-Reserve - 911 truther . . .
the type of guy who attends Van Jones rallys, has Pelosi pics on his walls, and a collection of Michael Moore flicks, etc - etc

Are you always this stupid?

So, the guy was a California Libtard...whaddya think about that, JustPlainWrong?

Link doesn't werk.

Found this one though...

www.msnbc.msn.com

FTA: In an Internet posting, a user by the name JPatrickBedell wrote that he was "determined to see that justice is served" in the death of Marine Col. James Sabow, who was found dead in the back yard of his California home in 1991. The death was ruled a suicide but the case has long been the source of theories of a coverup.

The user named JPatrickBedell wrote the Sabow case was "a step toward establishing the truth of events such as the September 11 demolitions."

That same posting railed against the government's enforcement of marijuana laws and included links to the author's 2006 court case in Orange County, Calif., for cultivating marijuana and resisting a police officer. Court records available online show the date of birth on the case mentioned by the user JPatrickBedell matches that of the John Patrick Bedell suspected in the shooting.

So, a pro-pot troofer did this mad thing?

Sounds more like a libertarian than a liberal to Spud.

In any event, this basically boils down to a case of "Suicide by Cop" only writ larger than usual due to the particular cops he chose to engage.

The media have done a remarkable job over the years of making protesters of all political stripes look like dangerous morons and making anybody who questions government into a conspiracy theorist.

Idiots like this now dead whackjob just make their job easier.

Why does Spud note this?

Times are becoming increasingly grim for many.

Desperate people commit desperate acts.

Governments then use those acts to justify further erosion of civil liberties.

It's a vicious cycle.

During the global economic depression of the thirties the conditions led to the installation of three fascist authoritarian governments in Germany, Italy and Spain.

Anyone who thinks "It can't happen here" is kidding themselves.

Be Well.

Am1st

Libtard? Geezus.

His 2006 drug bust happened in Orange County, CA, quite the opposite of a left wing bastion.

Quite a jump to conclude he was anything but a very troubled individual.

I'm just broadbrushing like the left does. Putting the shoe on the other foot, so to speak. Doesn't always fit, does it?

:^)

Na, you're assuming a WHOLE lot.

If we wanted to go down that road we'd refer to the fact he had a gun, so therefore MUST be a 2nd Amendment freak.

The guy was a troubled individual. Anything else is pure speculation.

Ha! His wiki profile has been deleted but Spud found this suggesting that Bedell may have been a libertarian who knew Robert Stack...

J Patrick Bedell's Amazon profile lists his home as in AUSTIN TEXAS.

List Sounds like the wrong man, right? No because his Amazon WishList picks books for Karen Bedell of Hollister California.

I didn't recognize the books or authors on that wish list therefore I'm sure they were not books by what are generally known as "liberals" or "progressives".

If you want to know what Mr. Bedell was about you might want to read Mediaelites, which pegs the man as having strong libertarian leanings in "John Patrick Bedell's Gunfight With Pentagon Cops: Crazier than Crazy Teabag Offshoot? ". (So, of course, I've already seen tweets by the right wing propagandeers on Twitter that the man was a "Liberal" just like the IRS plane bomber, Joseph Stack. Though that Bedell did put his address as Austin, TX. I don't know if that was something done to show solidarity with the plane bomber or if he lived or worked in the Texas capital. If he did know Stack that might have spurred his actions. The shock of losing someone a person knew can create or deepen mental instability or even start someone feeling suicidal.

In my original post, I was replying to #13 | Posted by northguy3 at 2010-03-04 10:00 PM and was being facetious. Then #29 | Posted by jpw at 2010-03-04 11:25 PM jumped in with his half-cent worth. This morning reveals the guy to be neither "muslim terroist", nor "teabagging patriot". The guy turns out to be a 911 Truther, and most of them are liberals that I've heard open their yaps.

Bedell's 2006 mug shot - taken in Orange County, CA

He looks more like a young Kentucky moonshiner than anything else

Very anti-government type. Don't think that can be put in one box or the other left vs right. The anti-government crowd seem to march to their own drummers these days.

A very troubled person do do something like this. Thank God the officers only got grazed - one in the shoulder and one in the thigh. Sure could have been a lot worse.

Another angry white male throws a temper tantrum.

Should we profile?

"Maybe the shooter decided to get taken out by pulling one of those "suicide by cops" stunts."

That, combined with a misguided attempt at making some statement.

Bedell was a TEABAGGER. There was evidence of scrotal tissue in his mouth, along with 2 pubic hairs belonging to Glenn Beck.

Bedell was quoted before he died, "If Glenn's jewels are good enough for Palin, they're good enough for me!"

Vet, I will NEVER forgive you for that image.

Bastard.

Figures.... A 9/11 truther too.... Well I guess he figured shooting the two men responsible for the coverup at the pentagon (the two $10.00 per hour guards), would rectify matters... I see...... At the very least, I would hope that these two officers Both had an opportunity to bust a cap in that idiots ASS prior to shooting him in the head.

This happened at the Pentagon? There has to be video! If it isn't released then we know this story is bullshit.

In fact.... It would make my day completely if someone found out that they got in a Dick Shot

"the two $10.00 per hour guards"

The Pentagon has non-military security?

That's the funniest thing I've heard this month.

The Rupublicans outsourced security at the Pentagon to ex-Blackwater alcoholics.

Why pay American military (government) privates (currently earning $1477/mo) when you can pay the PRIVATE sector $1477/week ?

It's that old GOP $$$private sector$$$ brainstorming again.

Hope everybody is OK.

Why would you say that about the perp that did the attack? He should bleed out at the sceen.

The guy turns out to be a 911 Truther, and most of them are liberals that I've heard open their yaps.

Like the teabagger who ran against Gov. Hairdo in the Taxes primary?

He should bleed out at the scene.

You do know the perp is dead, right?

Multiple gunshots to the head from three folks with automatics will do that to you.

Be Well.

potato head. They carted his sorry ass to the hospital in an effort to save him.

So, Ron Paul and Alex Jones are liberals? Now I have heard everything.

You left Van Jones off YOUR list. Now, there's a conservative.

You left Van Jones off YOUR list. Now, there's a conservative.

So the one liberal you can name means that "most truthers" are liberals...

you scurried away from the tough question on that other thread. It's funny to find you here.

So...the guy left a manifesto like Stack?

Stack?

Wasn't he that Teabagger Terrorist that flew the small plane into an IRS office in Texas?

Yet more proof the All Teabaggers Are Terrorists!!!
